Found nice and easy outside the great vic bike ride with some muffle friends.TFTC
Thankyou for the cache was abit hesitant because of potential spiders but sucked it up in the end! Thanks for the cache!
Day 12 of my interstate trip. Today I left Everton and continued on my way to Sydney making it as far as Burrumbuttock where I spent the night at a free camp site. I managed to find 17 caches today and only 1 DNF.Took a while to find it but got it in the end.TFTC Jamin Appleford
Our second day in Wangaratta and we decided on a walk picking up a few caches. All the trads we found today were quick finds. TFT
Another dnf .Third time here.Over it.How many dnfs in a row before one starts having on the game.*counts fingers*Getting close
This was a miracle find I was searching everywhere but there so many muggles each search only last a few seconds scratching my head I tried l more think not really expecting about OMG their it was
Each tribe has its own story of the dreamtime, each story of the dreamtime is a recollection of how the ancestors believed the land was built, and OT carries history for us to this day. This hide was great reminding me of my home town and its cultural stories. Signed the logsheet successfully.
Met up with Davidwazza for the day with the main aim of tackling the Warbys Challenge Trail series, and finding a mixture of Traditionals, Multis, Virtuals, Puzzles and Wherigos, both along the way and around Wangaratta. Thanks for the cache Jamin Appleford!
In Wangaratta for the day trying to grab as many caches as we could. Started with the four Adventure Lab Series before grabbing some solved mystery caches and then grabbing whatever else came our way. Zinnia94 parked the car a kilometre away but that meant we had to walk past a few caches so we grabbed this one. BENedict_2011 located the prize and was very pleased with himself. Nice hide TFTC
The weather was getting hotter so we picked on an easy cache before heading back to the cool of the geo-mobile. SL, TFTC
Showing a friend around Wangaratta and told him about my geocaching hobby. Guess who found his first find and is signing up as we speak!!! TFTC
Got notified last week that the power was going out at the office which meant the server would not be available. Outcome would be a frustrating day with jo work done do I made the call and had a flex. Meant I had a day free so why not go caching. With all the love at Rutherglen lately poor old Wangaratta is not being visited much. Many caches today hadn’t been logged since January (which was a tad painful as many past logs were generic Megs ones). Original intention was to use the locationless cache to boost my best day to 8 (plus AdLabs) but the plan was foiled by flooding - didn’t realise how many caches would be inaccessible (too many to log). In the end I did end up at Rutherglen to get a few different types but will save the bonus cache for another day (no Earthcaches available to collect). However did find all 33 (plus 5 AdLab points) that I actually looked for – but a lot more I didn’t try as access was blocked by water.
Back to where the car was parked and a quick search (dog walkers chatting when I started). Hunted around a bit but it wasn’t until I had a thorough feel that the sneaky cache was revealed. Log signed and returned as found

Coords had us at pole. Too cold to look for too long. Bike trail covered in water to next cache.
Unfortunately we were unable to head to the Wang mega so this being my first caching day since January 1st we headed to Wang for a caching day.
Enjoying the day out with Done_wright and Wright_stuff
Thanks Jamin. Another found in the series

It was a last minute plan to head to the MEGA. I didn’t think I was going to make it, but an opportunity arose and I managed to get a night in the Big 4. Geo daughter and I had fun with the maze, lab caches and a few local trads before heading back to the big smoke. Thanks for the fun and all the CO and organiser efforts!
Happened to bump into a bunch of cachers finding it that I already knew. Great to catch up. TFTC.
Beautiful morning to be out caching on the last day of the Mega.
Just a quick one here!

Tricky hide, we met a cacher having trouble putting her finger on it. Whilst we looked a local approached us and asked what was happening over there...pointing to the Mega area, he asked if it was ' a Covid isolation area' lol ....we explained what we were doing and our new caching friend told him all about how to get into our fantastic hobby and what to expect when searching for a cache....I discovered the cache and we showed him what we had found. We carefully replaced the cache whilst he was chatting and moved on to the next cache.
It's so sad that today is the last day we have in Wangaratta before heading to St Arnaud for a half way stop before heading back home to SA. Hevwalker and I found with some kind cachers extra help. TFTC A great informative and beautiful walking trail. I look forward to come back one day soon and finish it. TFTC

Thanks Jamin Aplleford for sharing the stories and placing the cache to bring us along this trail.

SL at 10:15am. Here with Ms_AmaraTay. Lots of stealth required for this one. Had to pretend I was reading the sign due to muggle walkers passing by or were they cachers? Great hide on the start of a lovely cultural trail. TFTC!

An afternoon of caching in company of Earthbound Chief.
This one was to be the last one for the day. Exhausted and hot, we needed to get back to the Mega site to help pack up the Maze. What a fun filled weekend.
An interesting find at GZ, nicely hidden.
The logbook was full so I put in a clean fresh one.
Thank you for the cache here Jamin Appleford

Arrived in town for the weekend of events planned, mostly the kayaking trip which timed nicely with the mega and a maze. Plenty of caching to choose from so we targeted a few, collecting a few others as they were just too convenient not to get while so close. Thanks for the cache!
Nicely attached. Super full log so squeezed in initials in a gap.

The rivers and trails around Wangaratta, can tell us so much about the cultural history of the area - amazing! Better luck today, this one was missing last time we tried.
Thanks Jamin Appleford for placing such interesting caches on the gameboard.

A mega jaunt with endeavour3 saw us caching this cache and writing in the log, then we moved on. A lovely place to explore. Today was an amazing day - what with the rare GPS Maze I scored 14 cache types in a single day!
Thanks to Jamin Appleford and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [^]

So excited to be attending my first MEGA and to be out and about after what seems like ages. Have been working very long hours for the past few months on the pandemic front so to have a few days for caching seems like an absolute luxury. ??
Great to meet new faces and to spend caching time with some familiar cachers as well.
Thanks to Jamin Appleford for putting out and maintaining all of these caches for our enjoyment! ??

**This Cache:**
Other members of the group wandered over for the search whilst I kindly asked the muggles standing outside their house if I could borrow their tap to fill up my water. Going through it so quickly on this hot day!
Soon joined them for the return of the cache, before walking down the track for another find.
Thanks!

**Today:**
Signed the log as **AB!** to save room, which stands for **Adventure Boys!**, which consisted of Loci612, Sui_001, DARKSIDEDAN and sebass19 during the Wangaratta Mega Event!
Day 2 of our mega trip!
The main goal of today was 14 cache types, the NKH series, everything MEGA related and lots of FUN in-between!
Thanks to all the CO's!

A quick find where we parked to go and find a tortoise. The TOOLMAN grumbled about micro caches so we left him in the car. A quick find by Budgietas
Thanks Jamin Appleford
I had been set to attend another Victorian Mega but the damn pandemic began and for obvious reasons one was cancelled and one was postponed. I was pleased the postponed Wangaratta event went ahead but have to admit I was still apprehensive about the COVID situation. Although attending all events, (except 1 of the CITOs) keeping distance was still a priority. I had a great time touring with 1TOOLMAN and Budgietas although there was an empty void where SSR should have been.
As well as Wangaratta, we visited The Paps, Mt Buller, Benalla, Glenrowan, Winton and even popped in to Lex country, having dinner at Brady’s Railway Hotel. Our find numbers were low but our laugh count was high so I call that a win!
Thanks Jamin Appleford

GPS was a little bouncy on approach to this one but instinct won out and the cache was found in the first place I stopped and scanned. [^]
In the company of Ghostgums, we were soon joined by a mob of Canberra cachers who etched their names in the log right behind us.
All done, GG and I headed South along the path to another.
Cheers Jamin Appleford.

Mega Weekend at Wangaratta, we had a great time finding your cache ?? Jamin Appleford, thank you so much for placing it.??
This is going to be a very well organised, stressful and fun day. We had set ourselves a challenge to pick up as many different types of caches in a day, grab some higher altitude caches and then to add to it, grab some different size caches all in a day.
With our game faces on Domsky’s and I headed to the start of today’s list. We were super excited and had a good plan. First was an event and then head out to grab the MT. Buller caches and then work our way back to town.
It was a super fun day and a relatively easy and fun time, we even got to see some “Serenity”.
In the case of the events, we signed the logbooks and in the case of a cache, we signed and replaced as found. Thank you to all the CO’s for our journey today, it was memorable.

Having a ball finding caches at the Mega, friendly peeps everywhere, a fantastic day out!
Another Mega find and a short hill climb to this one. Then out of the sun and into a maze
A huge day of caching that allowed us to find 15 different types in the one day.
Grabbed this cache before stopping for lunch by the river

The Mega in Victoria I had always planned to attend, but due to covid changes I was concerned, I wouldn’t be able to due to work commitments. As these commitments cleared up, I planned to go over and catch up with GoosenEgg, Stainless Steel Rat, and 1Toolman while in Wangaratta for a day caching to attempt to find 100 in one day. As things turned out Stainless Steel Rat was unable to go, so I was invited to join GoosenEgg and 1Toolman for the entire period. 1Toolman collected us from the airport and we immediately drove to Victoria’s 1st Geocache. From there during the 4 days, we visited Wangaratta, Mt Buller, Albury, Wodonga, Benella, Glenrowan, and Beechworth (although we didn’t make the bakery much to 1Toolmans disgust)
The trip was less about numbers and more about visiting places that I had only driven through before. We did manage to complete the Ned Kelly Helmet series and find a great Earthcache at Murmungee Lookout and another cache at “The Paps” which gave tremendous views of the area. The GPS maze, which I must say was one of the greatest attractions was also attended as with another cacher I was first through on the Saturday Morning at 8.15. It was great to get this icon on my profile.
Of the trip, it was certainly hot and humid, but we really didn’t get rained on in any serious way, with the major storm passing through at night time, otherwise it was just hot or very hot depending on the time of the day.
