Enjoying this quiet rural drive, and the sound of bellbirds while stopping for this one. Thanks Natalie246.
Day 4: The Road to Balclutha Todays agenda was to get down to Balclutha where we are staying on the way to the Catlins. The route on the beautiful day took us through the beautiful Central Otago and Teviot regions, where we took in the landscapes and found quite a few caches along the way. It was a long drive but we really enjoyed the little highlights along the way thanks to the ALs and caches placed by everyone. (End of the cut and paste bit)Heres the specific log for this cache: Next one down the Rongahere Road, and this one is as typical as they come. But, the diversion was appreciated as always, so thanks for that!
Out to check out the new bridge at Beaumont with Mr Cat and co. Decided to check out the Clydevale to Beaumont road for caches as had been meaning to for a while Tftc
Quick park and grab, cache was in good condition and right where it should be. TFTC
Seeing how this was where it suggested, MRP&Vee was encouraged to look for this cache instead of being the Pointer. Thanks to P&Vee and Hubbies having a great day. TFTC
On a mission with Mr & Mrs VDH56 to finish off these caches to Beaumont. Neither of us had full coverage so for the first time I am looking at the hints. We let MR p&vee go and get this one as he generally likes to point to where we should look while he stands back.
On our way from Kaitangata to Earnscleugh today. We had friends whose baby was born in an ambulance at Beaumont so I thought that is what they'd call him but no. Tftc
A nice quick find thanks. Good parking.
Ms_KR and I are on a wee South Island break. Today we headed up the Clutha from Kaitangata, and on up to Alexandra. Not too many people drive the road up to Beaumont, and the road has been sealed since we last drove it 25 or so years ago. A nice day for it too, with only a few light showers.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Need 50 today for a Geocaching Licence Challenge. Thanks for all CO's placing these, especially those with safe parking. This is number 29.
Heading southeast from Roxburgh in my cachemobile locating caches that I wouldn't be able to stop at with my snail shell on behind.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
As the country enters Level 4 (lockdown), https://covid19.govt.nz
It is strongly recommend that whilst we go for a walk for exercise, we need to take care on shared surfaces and geocaching should not be done at this time; https://wiki.groundspeak.com/display/GEO/New+Zealand
To remove temptation, I am disabling this cache and ask kindly that you do not find this cache during lockdown.
Remember there is more than physically finding a cache, there are plenty of puzzle caches you can do at home. Or if you live near a multi you can walk the trail and save the find for another day. For more info or connect with wider community see Geocaching New Zealand on Facebook.

Cache 814 no reception here but luckily the title is enough of a clue to find the cache. Being as it was dark it made darting across the road safe as you can see headlights from miles away. Cache is a quick park and grab in good condition T4TC
Quick snag and tag on my way past. Cheers
Thursday 12 November. Its exploring the Clutha River today to Beaumont and back down to Lawrence. Lets get moving Toby.
Toby, Zara and I are on a 3 week geo adventure of Cromwell, Southland, Catlins, Balclutha with a day in Dunedin and quick stop in Timaru. With Lenny, my trusty navigator and TBD my companion/mascot. we managed to visit lots of green boxes, now happy faces with the odd sad one. Did some LABs , earth caches, virtuals and wherigos, all chucked into the mix to rack up 500 odd caches. Lots of kilometers, lots of exploring and lots of fun. Thanks to all COs for our wonderful experience.

Such a lovely day for caching. So nice to be out and about. Dont even care if it rains. TFTC
Headed out today to pick off a bunch of caches alongside the mighty Clutha, as part of a last-minute effort to grab the final souvenir for the Museum challenge. These caches are rather underrated - sneaky little hides that are still fairly easy and good for people on park 'n' grab missions like me. Another cache with no issues - cheers to Natalie and indeed the Otago caching community for keeping these caches well-maintained. Cheers!
Found on a mission with RowenaD whilst working on the mystery at the museum series. Tftc
Found on a sunny ANZAC day cruise. Probably 30 years since we last went down this road. (spiders live here)
Passing by this cache as I headed to Alex to go to some maintenance on discovering gold, then the plan was to go back home via clydevale to check on some of those caches on the trail.
All good here.
All good here.
On our South Island adventure from Perth WA. A nice easy find with Spuddycakes in tow. TFTC
Today I was driving from Tapanui in Central Otago, through to Dunedin, stopping to find a few caches along the way. This cache was found along the way. TFTC! (Apologies for my log being over 4 months late!)
Recent floods in area, in particular the River Clutha means this cache could be in poor condition or missing. I am unsure if can make it before Christmas to check on it. Please do not do a throw down... but emptying water or adding in new paper would be rewarded with good karma thoughts from this CO.
After dropping geokids off at a camp...lets go caching!!!!
Ahhh bliss.... adult time!!!
Sitting in the navigator's seat, telling downsouthinv where to go, what more could a girl ask for!!

Thank goodness we aren't in Australia, as there would have been a huntsman living here if we were. They love living in crash barriers! An easy find today. TFTC
TFTC - have been wanting to get the cashes up this road since they were published. Really enjoyed my trip today, pretty sure I have not been up this road before
thanks Natalie for placing and maintaining

Quick find as we got closer to our lunch break destination a few hours later than expected, lol, but lots of fun had, thanks for the cache Natalie
Great day out caching in the area, lot of neat caches, and interesting spots. Many Thanks Bitsprayer
Took a lovely weekend drive up through Heriot and Beaumont, before following the Clutha river down to Clydevale and heading home. We enjoyed all the caches we did on the way, thanks for the hide
Been meaning to do the Beaumont --> Balclutha run for a while, today was the day. A series of well hidden, easy finds. Thanks.
I drove up to make a start on this line of caches and i am now finally logging them. This was in plain sight from the road.
I had past up this road only about a week before on way to Balclutha but i hadn't done my home work on what was here and on that first trip we didn't have time to stop much so i opted for the further afield caches. These were all a quick easy finds except perhaps the The Rusted one was a short quandry as my Gps wanted me to 'enter' the pond/mud a little beyond the actually cache site which i found with reading previous logs. Not sue why it is called Rusted Also at the hanging cache my Gps didn't want to settle and again the name and previous logs helped out here. Thank you for these caches and maybe another time i will get further along the road.

I picked off a few "park 'n' grabs" down this road to extend my trip, making the drive over Mahinerangi worthwhile. Thanks.
I believe this cache is ok following heavy rainfall over last 48 hrs, however roads in the area have been affected. A state of Emergency is still in place - for upto date info on roads go to www.dunedin.govt.nz/road-conditions
A large portion of my caches have been in affected area and I am currently through work/voluenteering have to focus on other post flooding activities.
As I expect it will be at least 1 week until I can do effective maintenance runs to check and replace caches I apologise now if you were hoping to claim this for a dot day/Mary Hyde gold and it is not in its expected state.
I would be grateful for any comments on what needs to be done and help empty water and provide dry logs.

Saturday drive grabbing some boxes missed on a previous trip. Got to this one after missing it last time all alone at the GZ. Grabbed the little one but spent more time pulling the squished logbag from the cache than was used to SL. It got wrapped up properly and returned to the hide. Getting a bit dark but the road was clear and free of flooding. TFTC
Returning home from a short winter break near Alexandra and decided to branch right at Beaumont and take the path less travelled. Very grateful to all the COS for their caches that took us this way. Well worth the detour. Forgive the copied logs bit too many to personalise. TFTC
A quick easy find in the expected place, although the cache is micro, not small. TFTC
Ooops someone parked there. Will pick up another day sometime. GZ comes quickly into view so will be hard to miss next time. Thanks for placing them.
Last one along this line for us today, had somewhere to be, Will have to save the rest for next time (might be a while away).

Our third find along this road. Spotted the likely location upon arrival. We had intended to carry on and find all of the caches along this road, but with the rain getting quite heavy we decided to abandon and carry on towards Dunedin. Tftc
Having a lovely picnic amongst the most stunning scenery. and finding a few caches around this lovely road. Thanks for the excuse to visit. And for the well maintained caches.
Conveniently placed where we wanted to do a U-turn, so took advantage of the wide road entrance here. Quick find, thanks Natalie.
Heading to Central for the weekend so a wee detour was in order to make a start on another of Natalie's series caches. A beautiful drive along the river on a lovely sunny spring day. Nice quick find and off to the next. TFTC
Out for a day hunting down the caches along the Clutha with Kiwigeoswami. A nice easy find.
Papa and Guwapo on a road trip with Debsnz and Aorakisheep. A quick find by Papa. Salamat!
Guwapo was out of the car and had this one in hand before anyone else even thought about getting out. Found with Aoraki Sheep and Guwapo
(FTF) #77 @2219. Another one down and a few more to go for Sirbennis and myself. A quick find and sign. TFTC
