Sadly this cache has rocketed away. Until I can make a replacement, I'll free up the area in case someone else has a cache hide ready. Thanks to all the finders.

Had a bit of fun climbing the trees but couldn't seem to find the cache. Almost thought I had found it when I spotted this tangled high in the tree but a thorough investigation proved it was not. Hopefully it's still in place and good luck to others who follow. I'll definitely be back again if it turns up!

For the same reasons as everyone else I am guessing

Had a really good look before using the phone a friend option, who confirmed my thinking is right. Sadly no find here today but will put on my watchlist to see if anyone else has better luck than me.

I am up in Auckland again to visit my partner, and on such occasions I often get a Friday to go out and about and get some casual caching done.

Having dropped her off to work, I had the rest of the day to myself. I knew the weather was supposed to get a bit wet later in the day so I was keen to find as many as possible this morning.

I knew I wanted to visit the Mount Albert/Western Springs area to try to find some Puzzle Caches that I had solved, so figured I would try to grab a few Trads along the way too.

I loved the sound of this one, and I'm usually quite happy to climb trees so it seemed a no-brainer to try to find it. However, after a fruitless 30 minutes of staring intently upwards until I was getting a crick in my neck, coupled with climbing the 3 most obvious trees to see if a change of altitude would bring a different perspective, I still had to leave empty handed.

I'm not sure when I will get another chance to come here, but I will hopefully have another crack at it some time in the future.

Nice cache container and placement!

Will return and try again! Feel like I’m missing something

I couldn't figure out which tree to search. Kids lost interest quickly as the lure of the big rocket was too strong.

Woohoo, nothing like turning a frown into a smiley. We had such a good run of caching today we thought we would stop here. Found it almost immediately, the reasons we didn't find it last time were :
a) we were looking in the wrong place (that's quite normal)
b) we had assumed incorrectly how it was going to be hidden

Very happy to find this one, thanks

The younger cachers were keen on visiting this park while we were in the area so it made sense to double the fun. The cache came first with the eagle eyes of the youngest pointing the tallest in the right direction. Thanks for the history and a cool cache!

This one gets a heart! Visiting Auckland and spent the morning at the zoo; decided to try our luck with this one on route to lunch. Nice and shady so didnt mind hunting for a while, when we couldn't find it where we thought it would be looking a little farther a field turned up dividends.

Checked on hide after recent dnf's and cache is still in position.

After attending the Oakley Creek CITO event nearby, Mikemiss and I decided to grab a couple more caches before heading for home. This was our last stop. We parked up and made the short walk to GZ. We quickly got onto the right wavelength as to the nature of the hide which meant it wasn't long before I spotted something of interest. Mike did the retrieval and I completed the formalities on this nicely themed hide. Mike returned the container to GZ and it was time to end for home. Cheers for the cache placement!

Headed out for some caches with Lostcourse after attending the nearby CITO event at Oakley Creek. This was our last stop before having to head back home. Lostcourse had a fair idea on how this one was going to play out and sure enough he quickly spotted it. A nice easy retrieval here, sometimes being tall certainly pays off! A quick sign of the log and it was time to part company and head for home - TFTC! Big Grin

Looked for a good 10 minutes but could not find it

18-Mar-17
We looked and looked, but couldn't find it. Maybe the recent storms have swept this away?

03-Mar-17
That was fun, if a bit dodgy. I suspect in retrospect I didn't put it back in quite the same place - maybe easier to find now? Thanks.

Being of slightly taller stature than most cachers i thought this woukd be easy. Looked at it straight away and decided not to see it.spent 20mins hunting everywhere else. Then i imagined myself at normal person height and came to the conclusion i must of missed it. Started from the beginning again and cache was in hand too quickly. Excellent hide. TFTC

I was here in this area before. Has climbed the near by pine to find "Reach for the stars" cache. It was an amazing experience. Here I'am again, for yet another climb. This time it was much easier. I had to climb a few of them to find the right one. Sree did some guiding job too.. Tftc TeamBMMR, loved the idea.

So this is it...the last chance saloon. Somewhere a composition by Ennio Morricone is playing...diddlydi...didddlydyo...if I don't find this one geowife and friend are absolutely going to demand to go home and any chance of keeping my daily streak going is over. Don't ask what I tried first. This cache was like your frumpy cousin. I'm not going to labour this pun with how many trees I mounted but it was more than one and all were a waste of my time. The key was giving up and passing the reins to geowife. Made of sterner stuff, the right stuff if you will, she spied the cache in its hidey hole. Signed and returned. I'd give you a fave point but what geowife wants to happen to you for this hide I'm almost certain is illegal (no I'm certain is illegal), but thanks for placing. Later I'm going to come by and pop in a favourite point mums the word.

We were out this way to visit an old friend at a nearby rest home. After the visit, LordCacher08 needed to get rid of some energy, so it was back to this park for a bit of a burn. We also had a muggle friend with us who was given a crash course in geocaching as we headed out this way.

We let LordCacher08 have a play on the rocket and surrounding park area and then headed off to find the cache. A quick trip from the park to GZ and then it was search on. We looked all around, even finding a Weta a hole in a tree where a branch had rotted out. We looked high, mostly, and we looked low, not very often. Mr. Kiwi had had the idea to look in the correct place near the beginning of the search, but didn't see the cache hidden where it was. This lead to looking in other places but to no avail.

Finally, Mrs. Liver Bird suggested that the cache might not be where we were looking for it, but instead where Mr. Kiwi had looked previously. So with a bit more searching of that area and finally keeping the sun out his eyes, Mr. Kiwi spotted the little rocket ship. The next problem was how to retrieve it. Luckily we had a TOTT in the shape of LordCacher08. Up he went on to Mr. Kiwi's shoulders and stood up in order to retrieve the cache. Then carefully down again to perform the formalities. All the time, our muggle friend was intrigued with what was going on and asking questions about how this thing all worked.

After signing the log it was back up on Mr. Kiwi's shoulders for LordCacher08 and the nifty little cache was put back in it's place. This was definitely a good hide and one well worth going to grab.

Popped in on the way home tonight with supernanny, luckily she had an appropriate TOTT as I was not game to use the natural version. Find, extraction and replacement went smoothly. Very cool cache container.

12-Nov-16
GPS was very jumpy around here but figured we had the right tree (seemed the most obvious one) even had Ryan along as he does all the tree climbing but just couldn't spot the blighter. Still not sure if we were at the correct tree but the GPS didn't take us any where else logical.

04-Nov-16
I decided to go for a run and collect this cache. However I forgot to put the coordinates into my watch so I ended up doing this from memory. Fortunately this was a quick and easy find and no issues extracting the cache. TFTC!

03-Nov-16
Didn't have that TOTT but got it anyway, in spite of my work clothes and shoes arguing with me. Nice hide, TFTC

Plenty of muffler but no one saw us. Cool cache. Just getting started on this geocaching thing. Pretty fun.

Out with Okayness tonight who made the find. Glad I wasn't alone when it came to retrieving it! Nice container. TFTC

I was at work this morning and I had to leave due to extreme soreness in my ankle, damn gout playing up again! But I was still able to hobble just a little bit, so bypassed to here to check this cache out. As I got out of the car I could see someone with a stick not far from where my GPS was pointing, so I assumed it was a cacher and sure enough it happened to be ric1942!! Good to see you again, haven't seen you for ages. He had a tool with him and he managed to get us the cache with a certain amount of ingenuity and flexibility. So I signed the log as he did then came the tricky matter of returning the cache from whence it came. That became a joint effort! Lots of laughs about that. So now I have a fellow cacher with me, we're going to do one more before I head home to rest my foot. Thanks for the cache TeamBMMR.

Was hunting about for a while, but GPS was spot on. I was about to extract the container, when Gorby turned up, Just at the perfect time. Good we were both there as replacement was a two man job. TFTC.

I met up with Mrs Jag50 and Supernanny for a days caching and as SN had already done this one, she came along to watch. Of course it was the shortest but most agile of us who was the one to clamber up higher to reach the cute wee container and after signing the log it was a stretch to say the least to replace the cache. Unfortunately I was far too slow to get my camera out after I turned round to find MrsJ50 with her foot stuck well and truly and her jumping around trying to extract it! FP for the fun

14-Sep-16
Met up with Merlot58 and Supernanny for a days caching. We saw the cache easily enough, but getting it was more of a challenge. Being the shortest and youngest I climbed to get the cache - but my arms were too short, so with a bit of maneuvering I managed to reach it. FP for the well themed cache

Anybody want to meet me at Pocket Rocket in half an hour ? Just leaving work now...

Where are you Danielle , Harsha Sharon or Gorby with a tott or a pole !!!!!

What's wrong with the natural TOTT at GZ?

13-Sep-16
So excited to report that I managed to find , sign and return the Pocket Rocket safely tonight , under the cover of darkness , on my way home from work !
Was a tricky little fellow ! But I managed the job with a natural tott found nearby . And used a bit of ingenuity for the return of said rocket !
Had expected this would be much more evil than it actually was !
Phew , all done and dusted ....no more unfound green squares on Rocket Park for me !!!!
Thanks TeamBMMR !
Favourite coming your way soon !

Another 6am start as TNXPro and I make our way up to Route 66 North of Auckland. This was my 18th cache today and it was found quickly thanks to accurate coords, a good hint and my brain still thinking I have the body and strength of a teenager Smile We figured an FTF would be pushing it after >12hrs of publication but I was still hopeful until the Found It logs started coming through.. Now after also meeting Davidsonclan here we just had a couple more caches and another cacher to pick up and we'd be on our way. Fun cache though, Cheers TeamBMMR, TFTC.

This was a mission of should I or should I not, spent 20 Minutes wondering about this question even put this one on the watch list to see if it went while I was still thinking to go for it or not in the end I did and met McArgister after he had just got FTF. Well done, well deserved had fun chatting and pondering about where it would be and even though I had thought it may of been somewhere more evil nice spot to find it hiding. Thanks for staying behind for the laugh of me finding the cache and see you again in the dark for another adventure Tftc nice camo.

After an FTF down towards the airport, I too had a "shall I shan't I" debate with myself. Surely someone closer had already found this but just not logged it yet. My leave pass was secured already and a sleep-in tomorrow had been promised so I figured I'd just drive towards it until I got the "found it" email. I'd been delayed in leaving for the first one by about 10 minutes so this must have been released at least half an hour previous and my drive was 20+ minutes, but you gotta be in it to win it. At GZ parking there was no other car. Promising... Made my way round the corner to stargaze. Then I thought properly about the hint and gazed somewhere else. Sure enough, there it was, the pocket rocket flying through the sky. What a majestic beauty! Like the container (or is it camo?!) No TOTT needed but my acrobatics left me with a sore back! Would they be worth it though... The tape on the log seemed even more promising than the empty car park and sure enough, no other nocturnal visitors had flown in the pocket rocket and I had an unexpected blank log to sign! Blast off! Had just touched back down to earth after replacing when I heard footsteps so walked away as casually as I could in case it was a muggle. Nope it was a Rebel! Gave him some help as I felt bad for beating him to it by mere minutes and had a bit of a chat before parting ways. Thanks for the bonus FTF! It was out of this world! Gets a fav.
