Couldnt decide which tree in the grove was the right tree. Did not want to lose an entire weekend trying.
**19,441**Having stopped at McDonalds for some refreshments we were ready to get back into it. This took us longer than it should have because apparently, we were barking up the wrong trees. About to give up when the cache was spotted, phew! Saved from the dreaded DNF TFTC
location busy with muggles today but no dogs.cache location fairly well hidden so no problems to search area and find.TFTC
With Gap (of Fap and Gap) Working and caching our way through to Auckland and back home again...Gaps next assignment brought us out to West Auckland. As this was deemed to be a quick in and out job, we decided to get our caching done first This was a busy location in the late afternoon. Fortunately, ground zone was sufficiently screened, and this was a quick find. Thanks Aiden29. TFTC.
One for the road on my way home from getting some new caches. At first I thought there was going to be some bush walking involved but found a better path in. Tftc
After several failed attempts to find this cach I finally found it.
I don't know why I couldn't find it on my other visits.
Thanks Aiden29 for placing and maintaining this cach.

Out with Keylev finding a few caches out west. Parked up and headed to the trees, but we spent a lot of time looking at lots of trees before Keylev finally spotted the cache on the ground, after signing we placed it back in what we guessed was the right tree. Hopefully this is correct. TFTC!
Out and about with Mrs NZTravellers for the morning. Parked up close by and seemed to bark up all the wrong trees before I finally spotted it out on the ground next to one of them...aha...signed and then placed back next to closest tree.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
AliGle and I were out for a bit of an explore around West Harbour this afternoon. Parked near GZ and soon found the cache after inspecting the correct tree. TFTC!
Out for a Sunday afternoon adventure with Vistra. Found without too much searching. Tftc
In the area for a training session so took the opportunity to grab this cache. Nice straightforward find with lots of nearby parking. TFTC
Barked up too many wrong trees - will bring a younger set of eyes next time.
After rereading description i figured it out. Found the new cache & on to next hunt
This is probably visit number 4 or 5 here over the last 4 years or so, only one DNF logged but many trees gazed at, poked and occasionally cursed at, *&^%$ etc. Back today over lunch with a plan to get out for a couple of quick walks in the area, and increase my Kilimanjaro altitude. I headed into the grove, and after a couple of circuits of the recently chopped branches and all, and spotted the cache container damaged on the floor, sans lid and log. After checking my spares I headed back to the car and grabbed a mini film-pot with RITR strip inside and added that to GZ, nestled as per coordinates. All good now. Nice to redeem a DNF, did that at the next cache too. Disposed of the (black) lid-less damaged pill container in the nearby bin. Has been a while since this was last found too.
In line with the NZ Geocache Reviewers guidance on what Covid Level 3, Part 1 looks like, geocaching IS permitted, but there are not to be any events or any new listings. It seems the NZ Covid website has failed to maintain pace with Lockdown level amendments and changes and is still lumping Geocaching in with Orienteering and other gathering type activities. Link from Facebook; https://www.facebook.com/NZGeocachingReviewers/ for further details.
Update - Level 3.2 due to be applied in Auckland region at 2359 09 Nov 21 will be allowing new listings to be published, still no Events though

Partner managed to find it on the ground, great spotting by her. Couple of fallen trees/branches though. We've placed it where we think it was meant to be but it might pay to double check and reposition if needed.
Another good cache found today with woolwood9
We enjoyed walking / driving around the area
*Thanks for putting out this container for us to find!*

Out for our government approved daily walk during this strange time of country lock down for the cocid-19 virus finally managed to locate this cache that has been tricky to locate with the help of dj hayes2121. Didn't have a pen so not able to sign as we weren't planning to Geocache but as it was in the park near home that we had walked to it was an opportunity to search for..... Took a photo as proof of find. Tftc!
Took ages to find... the tree had being pushed over as another tree has fallen on top
Took two goes but we got it eventually. Visiting from Australia and doing a few caches as we visit relatives. Thanks to all the owners of the caches we were able to find.

After a good start to the day with the event in Henderson, a bit of caching in Te Atatu to get a few more smileys. We are meandering our way home picking up other caches along the way. Golly gosh, we barked up a number of trees for quite some time here lol. Was nearly going to log a field DNF, when Ted relooked at somewhere I'd already looked and had the cache in hand. Woof Woof. Happy team. SL. TFTC.
Finally had a chance to check on this cache today. Only located one cache, which was dry. If someone finds both caches can you put both logs in the larger black one and remove the other cache.
Found it today after much hunting. We were congratulating ourselves when hunter number two spotted another cache within a meter? Don’t know what’s going on here but we found both one has a wet log. Other cache is bigger and bone dry. Tftc
Found after a bit of searching. Signed log but noted the last find was 5/4/2018. This must be the cache which went missing back then?
After having been frustrated by this one before, I approached it today from a different angle and saw it immediately....cant imagine how I didn't pick it up before...nice one , cheers V
I had some spare time today so decided to head North and West to find a few caches out in this direction. I barked up about 3 or 4 wrong trees before I barked up the right one. TFTC, Biggles.
Visiting from Australia
Pretty sure we found the old cache as the last entry in the logbook was in April.
Thanks for the cache

As I pulled up it started to rain - typical. Got out and hoped for a quick find - didnt take to long and the trees offered some shelter.

It's quiz day today but there's only so much study one can do before becoming exhausted, so a drive out west to relive some tension was in order. Thankfully this has been replaced and I was able to log a quick find today. I won't mention how many times I've been here, except to note that it is kinda of on the way when hitting up caches out west. So glad to get a smiley here today, cheers
Caching today with TheMexiKiwi and stopped in here. Happened to run into an old work mate hanging about in the car park which I choose to take as a good sign and after a short cache the cache was found, though more out of luck than anything else as it was a sanity check look more than anything. Still take it though! TFTC
Had word that this might be missing, so checked on it this morning and it was. Have replaced.
I'm not sure about the previous logs. I spotted the cache IPV, so covered with some camo to repel muggles. TFTC.
Tried in the dark the other night to no avail, found this time after a few minutes! Great hint! Very clever! Thanks!
NQF with good co ords on our last day in NZ. Damp inside. TFTC and greetings from the UK
Out with Cats&Dragons on a late night - early morning cache run. Logs were signed MCCD but may have varied a bit as tiredness settled in. Thanks for placing this cache and giving us a reason to visit
Out and about for a spot of cache detection out west Auckland way today. Good weather for it. I parked up in the car park and circled my way into GZ. Searched a likely looking spot with no joy. Had a little think and decided on a different tack. This proved to be correct, but I missed the cache on the first pass and then on the second when I revisited that spot. On the third pass I looked more I intensly and spied the well hidden hide. Cache was a little damp inside. Cheers for the cache placement!
A little frustrating this one, even climbed a tree to get a better view, but no cache seen. Eventually needed to move on the next, with rebel98
Stomping round my old hood today. Met up with Bertie Blowfish to take our geodogs for a walk. Started here and while barking up several wrong trees we were sprung by a muggle dog and its owner! Left the scene to walk our dogs then returned for another go. Found the well hidden item this time. Was a little sodden inside so replaced the zip lock bag before restashing. Tftc
Met up here with Cadaverhands to take our geodogs for a walk. Had a quick search before starting out, but got sprung by a muggle wondering just what we were up to in the bushes!!! So we went for our walk, & had another go on the way back....when we spent a fair amount of time barking up several wrong trees...b4 hitting upon the correct one. (It would've helped of course, if I was a little less vertically challenged!) Tftc Aiden
Second night in a row here, and same result as last night for my search. A few choices here, I found nothing myself though
Driving around here today with my new cool job, taking a break means, call for a cache. Had bit of trouble in finding the right tree, but then cache was soon in hand. tftc.
Such a nice park to walk around in at lunchtime - the geocaches and munzees are a bonus!
Started off barking up the wrong tree, but widened my search and quickly found it in a logical spot. TFTC

In the area so made a quick park and grab here, logic led us to the right place and cache in good condition.
Found it with mikefnz and brand0n97. Found the right tree but 2 of us didn't quite have the height to look for it, Brandon have it a go and found it easy. Tftc
Found with darkangel and brandon. Probably barked up every tree possible, but Brandon had the extra little height needed to get a better view of the GZ.
Sometimes I make things way too hard for myself and today it was more of the same. I had ideas for what I should be looking for but I was pleasantly surprised when I finally got that "a-ha" moment. Nice work, TFTC
Having failed miserably at Head Off Underground ventured forth with trpidation on the back up plan. Had a look at likely spots before opting thinking more laterally. Very pleased to say the cache was immediately spotted . TFTC
We should have been more on to it as the name of the cache was the give away. Still we spent a bit of time hunting for this before we finally spotted it. Good camo.
Sneaky wee number here, found after collecting nearby pirate's treasure. Geowife found this one while I searched in the wrong place as usual. Tftc.
My gps had me barking up the wrong tree for quite some time! It was determined to take me to a certain tree but after a thorough search I decided to ignore it and do a methodical search. I should have ignored it earlier as I soon spotted something a little different in the next place I looked and on closer examination found it to be the cache. Nice one!
Oh kay with batgirl5 hmm lots of trees to search after 25 mins with no luck decided to rethink then spotted something and investigated ahaa that looks odd yes its a cache.nicely done all make sence now tftc Lokky1 25 October 2016 14:27
5th cache for the day with lokky1 after 30 mins of seaching lokky found it very cool cache ! Tftc Batgirl5 25 October 2016
Out caching with CO so called in on the way home, CO enjoyed standing back and watching me search. Very clever hide.
Yes, guilty of barking and climbing up the wrong tree !!!
Went round and round and just when I was about to give up, there it was. A favorite. Tftc

Oh dear , my new shoes have found another soggy patch of mud tonight under the grass here !
However I won't complain !
So nice to finally get this one ; as I came here last week and had no joy.....barked up and down many trees in this copse for a very long time !
Today I was more determined ......
But when I arrived here , there was a Global Security vehicle parked over the road in the School Driveway for ages .....Had to drive around a bit and bide my time !
Anyway it all ended well as I located the cache after some careful looking slightly away from where I searched last visit !!!!!
Good cunning hide thanks Aiden29
After a very busy morning gaining several FTF's and a mystery cache and an earth cache for the souvenir and another trad, I came here to inspect wot's going on here! I have barked up many wrong trees in my time, and I'm not necessarily referring to caching!! But today when I parked up in the carpark, I seemed to hit the pot of gold first time! I looked 'there' wondering if it the cache might be there, I saw something out of place and zeroed upon it and sure enough, I had me a cache to contend with. Joy of joys! Thanks very much for the cache Aiden.
Second to find, we were unable to race to this one due being out of the city but it was a nice find upon our return today. Love the idea of the cache but the glue has already taken a beating from the rain and is starting to lift ): dropped our washer off (:
We were watching a murder mystery on DVD when the alert went off for this cache, and it's only 2 km from home! Raced out the door and very soon headed into the dark bushes, trying to forget the spooky movie. Plenty of trees to choose from in there, and we checked quite a few. Eventually one of us spotted the camo, and the cache was revealed. (Nicely done). Signed for FTF at 10.20PM , great to get our October FTF in the bag on the 1st of the month. Now back to that murder mystery . . .
