Logs
DNF here with Beautiful Sky. Found the exact spot it was meant to be using a past log, but nothing here. Even though found so recent. Sad
We didnt find this one, unfortunately. Looked really hard, scooped out leaf litter, scrapped back dirt, peered into every hidey hole for all the logs in the vicinity, but no log to sign and no cache to hold that log.
Lured here by some green bushland on the map so made a plan to get the caches.Out caching with Cherryfromtheblock today after a rainy morning and a bit of a wet start it ended up being a really nice and fruitful caching day.Weirdos spotted: noneSnacks: Tamano sushi seaweed and avocado salad for lunch which was awesome.TFTC
Second of five finds after work. In the dark night with the moon nearly full. On the eve of winter solstice down under. Needed patience and inspection to unveil the cache. Alas log paper too tattered. See photo. TFTC Sicad69
I know what I was looking for and from photos and the hint I was in the right spot. Cant seem to find it though
Lots of lantana work in the area. Found the cache exposed on the other side of the trail. Probably another dnf if it was in plain sight. TFTC.
This cache , as well as all my caches are available for adoption as I have moved from the area and cannot maintain anymore.
A lot of fallen logs in this area!!
Log is waterlogged andnd needs replacing

Have never explored this area of bushland before either, so decided to take a bike ride down here today. The going gets a bit tough on a bike towards the end.
Spent about 10 minutes looking without any success.

An afternoon of Covid safe geocaching in my LGA took me around some interesting caches in the North Rocks area.
A good find. Unfortunately the log could not be written on, so a photo log instead.

Refreshing find in the bush beside Rifle Range Creek. OCW Brewmaker. TFTC Sicad69
A micro small quickly found once GPS settled. Log very damp and a bit tatty. Camo from hint helped. Nice walk through the bush. TFTC
This one was a little bit of an adventure.
The trail along which this cache was placed has fallen into disrepair. It obviously was well kept at one point but the overgrown bushes, fallen trees and many spiders webs along the way show it is now the road less travelled.
When i was almost at the GZ i needed to cross the creek one last time. I was wondering how to go about this when i spotted that a fallen tree had actually completely covered a wooden bridge.
My search took a while but in the end i got lucky. The log wad pretty damp and i had some trouble signing.
While the GPS was swinging quite a bit due to the canopy cover i found the cache about 12m from the coords. The clue was more use.
Thanks.

Today I set out on a trek to do a some of the Rifle Range Creek Series, plus Ensconced and Keyhole Tree. I parked at the bottom of Perry Street near the trail entrance and promptly left my water bottle in the car !
This log will need some TLC soon.
So in 3 hours;
Off to Rifle Range creek #3 Up and away - Found - pretty straight forward. There is barely a track along hear but just enough to see a way, in some places wet under foot despite no good rain for a week. There are heaps of little black mossies. The log is very fragile and will need attention soon.
After that I set my GPS to Rifle Range creek #1 Golf course view - again the track is almost non-existent but follow the creek, there is a slight trail. A bit of a bush bash in places with spiders and mossies. I had pre read the hint and spotted it from a way off. Cache is in great condition.
Back tracking, off shooting and bush bashing to a DNF ~ Rifle Range creek #4 Round here somewhere - I spent 30 mins going round and round the one structure. Messaged the CO for extra hints. Perhaps in future.
From there I set out to do Rifle Range creek #2 Invacare, a minute and it was CIH, Cache is in very good shape.
Now off to Ensconced - Lord have mercy what have I got into !! Difficulty 1.5 wow ! I’m thinking 2.5, Terrain I agree 3.5 at a minimum (I came in from Trent Road after doing Rifle Range creek #2 Invacare. Hardly a trail and you really need to watch your footing. Many big rocks and caves to admire and scramble over. Just trust your GPS. Great hide. I could have easily missed this one but it had that tell-tale signature. Good container too. All in excellent order.
Now to get out of here towards Rifle Range creek #5 The Cresent Trail. I came up from Enconsed “DON’T DO THAT !” unless you have insect repellent, strong grippy shoes and are training for an Ironman event. I almost phoned in the Westpac Rescue Chopper. I slipped down one rock crevice and felt my knee twinge I grabbed it quickly and I think I was pretty lucky. Writing this log up at home it seems OK. Where was the Rescue chopper going to land anyway !! I had to stop half way up the other side for a drink - man no water bottle on the hook !!! I bashed out to Randall Street and then it was a quite easy path. A large cache with spot on Co-ords. All in very good condition. I picked up the trackable Wood Po Po TB7CM32 and will take to QLD on an upcoming trip - Covid permitting !
I um and arh!d about Keyhole tree as I was really knackered but it was only 185m or so and I sussed it was on the well-defined Cresent Trail Walking Track. Found quite easily, the cache is in very good condition. Cool tree - well once it wasn't!
Walking back to my car along Randal St I bumped into my Optometrist ! I asked him if there was trail from Perry St or Lenton Place to The Cresent trail - you know what he said ... "Not that I've ever seen" !! We laughed, I was exhausted ! Well there is a bit of a trail now.
A good day out

The weather has been amazing lately and I decided to take full advantage of the sunshine and grabbing some smilies. I was going to head home after spending some time finding caches in the hills but decided to grab a few more while I was out.
Thank you for placing a cache out here, what a pretty little walk! I must admit though, I was a little disappointed that the container was a basic mint tin (which stuck out like a sore thumb) would of loved a better container given the location, nevertheless, enjoyed coming out here. Many thanks! Find 6/7 for today

Drove over from nearby caches to carry on with this series. Had to bypass #2 because a muggle was sitting in their car right at GZ so carried straight on to this one. Enjoyed the walk along the track and I love being introduced to and exploring urban bushland that I otherwise would not have known about if it wasn't for Geocaching. SL, TFTC!
Nice Walk to the cache with Ris768 we found a path through the scrub then spent a few minutes looking for it as the GPS was all over the place
Thanks Sicad69 for placing this cache

Came out on a fresh Sunday afternoon to explore Rifle Range Creek. Made our way here from #4 and poked around a bit until we found this container. Such a nice area but clearly not well used as the track is overgrown and the small bridges in need of repair. SL TFTC Cheers...Gaztek
After Rifle Range creek #2, we continued on to this one. At GZ the GPS played up a bit, probably due to the dense vegetation. After having searched a few possible locations, the cache was eventually found, the log book signed and the cache replaced. Then on to the next.
New co ordinates posted. Not so much "up and away" now a bit lower.
Please replace Camo as you find it.

The original hidy hole has been destroyed during the school holidays.
I've been overseas for a few months so today was good for doing a cache check.
The hide is now relocated but I need to use the etrex to confirm the new coords so until then it will be out of action.

Got over bridge ok looked around for while found on ground signed and put back we we thought it should be
Well what an adventure from rifle range 2. Again, followed a faint trail that lead me to the creek only and rock hopped 200m to be close enough to find another goat track. Incredible experience, and not recommended. Anyway, tough find after exhausting all other possible locations, thanks Sicad69
Located at 8:11pm. Decided to tackle this regardless of the surrounding darkness and it was a quick find but was definitely spooky in the heavily enclosed bushland. Great find nonetheless. Спасибо! תודה! TFTC!
Had to get past the guards guarding the cache - bull ants! Had to get it out with a stick! BE CAREFUL!!

An interesting stroll in over that bridge, once at ground zero there were plenty of opportunities and had to check the spot a second time before I spotted it. Container is a bit small for it's environment really, I am a firm believer in placing the largest container the location will support. Still it was a nice little stroll. Thanks Sicad69.

Out for my daily dose of medicine on this very windy winter's day. Pennant Hills Rd was a parking lot so it took me much longer than expected to get to my parking spot. With the state of the bridge, I guess this track doesn't get used as much as it once did. Quick find at GZ. Now off to #4 which I'm sure is around here somewhere.

Took us a while to find the cache due to GPS signals diverting from GZ. Good placement. TFTC
I was walking in on the narrower trail from Perry Street when I saw a guy walking towards me - nice to bump into a fellow cacher again, hasn't happened in a while. Nice to meet you BAKTRAK. We had a little geo-chin-wag and I was on my way to this one. Fairly easily located, considering the many possible spots.
Thanks for the hide Sicad69.
Thanks for the hide Sicad69.
Arrived at GZ and thought the hint object had decomposed but then found the cache in a healthier specimen nearby. After doing another up the hill, I returned and ran into Mr Blundo, who I haven't seen for 3 or 4 years. Always good to meet to a fellow traveller in the field.
Thanks again Sicad69.
Thanks again Sicad69.
Nice little walk in... Found a muggle leech along the way... Had to get rid of him as he was not invited to geo day.
Continuing our early morning bush walk, walked straight past this to begin with but looked back and spotted. Log signed
I'd ascertained the GZ on a previous pass along the trail. It was a quick find and log signing today.

Well I made that a lot more difficult than I needed to. Spotted what I thought was a good path, 2 small creek crossings & a serious bush bash later I had CIH. Then I found a much easier path & the bridge that had been mentioned, so my trip back was less eventful TFTC
Finally found some time to sit down and catch up on my logs, some I have good memories of and others were just another cache on just another day.
Found this on a Sunday afternoon with Martin Cousins, nice quick find. SL #2923 on streak day #1697 TFTC

Found it on a warm spring Sunday while out with the dog. We continued on from #2 and found the faint track mentioned in an earlier post. I had to carry the dog over the bridge (he is too small and a sook). I found a few objects which matched the hint and came up with the goods. TFTC
My third of the day, found in a lovely spot sparkling in the spring sunshine. Thanks again Sicad69.
Quick find once at GZ. What a beautiful location. Master Q loved the walk and the broken bridge was a great adventure:) He called himself a bush man;)

Second find on the trail which isn't. I thought they'd be in sequence so tried walking through the bush but had to bush bash across and this was the first one I came across. Found, signed, replaced.
Thanks!

#3455 (1 of 2 today)
Decided to hit one more of the *Rifle Range* series. Then after that find I looked where I was and decided to go for a second.
Found both, although finding the car again proved harder than it should...
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Parked near *#2* and walked past it on the way here.
Took the main trail and then spotted a track leading off in the right direction. Let's try that.
It was a good choice as without too much problem I found myself at GZ.
Cast my gaze around and decided to try one spot first. CIH! Always appreciated when that happens. Was worried a bit that there was no camo - OK so there is unlikely to be a procession of muggles here, but it is a track nevertheless.
Completed signing duties and added a little camo.
Then assessed where I was, and decided to go for *#4* as the track seemed to continue in that direction.

This one was a much quicker find.
Found the trail from the previous cache then followed through.
Simple hide and a nice little rainforest spot.
Thanks for the cache!

I missed the track up and down so I bushbashed until I found the trail less than ten metres from GZ!?!
Once there it was an easy find.
After getting #4 I came back in the track and saw the cool broken bridge.

3rd of 5 finds in North Rocks this morning.
I decided to grab the Rifle Range creek series today, in #1 to #5 order. After a 15 minute phonecall near #2, I resumed the hunt and found a narrow track branching off to #3 & #4. A couple of dodgy bridges along the way, then an easy find thanks to the hint. Signed as 2TF. Note: these containers are micros.
Continued on to #4. TFTC.

I was supposed to be able to sleep in this morning after several late nights. Instead I was woken up by someone who missed the bus for a lift!
After many cups of coffee I was out to find some caches.
I was going to find another cache in this area last week but ran out of time. Just as well since this cache series was published. Now I can grab them all.
Thanks for the cache.

We saw all the publishing but was still getting sorted from being away and a check after lunch showed the usual locals had not appeared so with the lure of 5 new caches we headed off in hope several hours after publishing. The Golf was the first one in this series and like all those to follow the co ords where good and no real issues making the finds. After Golf we drove round to #2 which was our base for hunting down the others. Some nice bits of bush although the survey pegs near #4 may mean some future development coming. It turned out to be blank logs in all so a quick field log on the web to let others know **FTF** was gone. TFTC
Congratulations Bella at Waggy on FTF.
Date and time of find please. Im sure others would appreciate this info as well.
