Well well well. This presented as quite a challenge. I had previously DNF'd this while on my 40 day streak a year back. I recognised the location as soon as I pulled up today with BS13. Same dilemma as last time. Coords stick out into the open, hint seems to reference the fence, photos show rocks. WHERE IS IT???After a 45 min search or so we found nothing. We looked everywhere. But it had been found yesterday?PAF and we got the exact location. What do we find? A film canister under some dirt in the open. Great. Never would have guessed there. Thanks for the PAF for the spoiler. Glad to tick this off.Container is badly damaged. We replaced the log. Moved the cache slightly to a better spot. ALSO: (From RRC #2, we saw the boy in the suit again, this time in the middle of the bush! Briefcase, jacket, tie and all! What could he be doing??? Geocaching Internship?)
And here we come to the end of the path, stopped by a rusted barbed wire fence, and a gate, chained and bolted. The cache was somewhere here, but we couldnt see it, not on approach, not from the right angle or any angle, not on the fence or really near the fence or rocks or trees or anywhere. We scrolled through all past logs and the success of each find seem to make our lack of finding a lot worse. Lets change focus. Talk about something else besides the cache and then we will see it. Some funny stories exchanged. Still nothing. Lets widen the search. Nada. Since OZB was out to avenge, I reached out to a PAF, who quickly got back to me as we were leaving the fence line.A spoiler photo revealed a random place of hiding which didnt make sense to us or the hint, so we pulled out the mushy log, replaced with new paper and re-hid close by in a better spot. Hopefully these caches get adopted out to our PAF, who can give this series some much needed TLC. We head back and yes, there is that young guy we saw at the beginning of our trail still in his suit, holding his satchel now trying to navigate his way into the middle of the bush. I turn and call out if he needs help. Nope hes fine. I really hope he didnt get lost or melt away in the heat. The things one sees when out caching. Thanks for the adventure. One for the books for sure!
Two hours geocaching after work. Managed to turn two blues into yellow smileys. And getting a Mystery geocache, whose coords I solved last week. Plus a playful multi a few kilometres away.I couldnt find this traditional geocache one and half months ago. Amused to see that my geospouse found it two weekends ago! Naturally I had to come back to search GZ a bit more. Found the inner container and nothing else. Wasnt where you might expect to find it hidden. Log paper mushy, unable to sign it.Details and photo shared with CO Sicad69. Thanks for the 5 active Rifle Range Creek hides that Ive now found altogether. My find count now stands at 2485 so far.
I had a bushwalking this area. I struggled to work out how much angle. Found it. Thank you
If a gig is cut short due to a non-show, what can you do? Lets go geocaching. However this cache shall remain lonely. Couldnt find it after 20 mins so better head off to another hide.
Spent way too much time on this for a dnf of this calibre. Found the golf ball. Found lots of angels.
This cache , as well as all my caches are available for adoption as I have moved from the area and cannot maintain anymore.
The log container was filled with water leaving us unable to log. We have taken a photo of the cache to digitally sign our name. TFTC
Nice easy find, spotted it from the gate. Could be an interesting approach from the nearest street if it had been raining lately. Thanks Sicad69.

An afternoon of Covid safe geocaching in my LGA took me around some interesting caches in the North Rocks area.
A quick find. The log roll is quite wet and the magnet does not work very well anymore.

This one took me more time to find than i was expecting. I had an idea of where to check heading in but when i reached the spot my gps pointed me to i changed my mind.
Turns out i should have trusted my instincts.
After searching the obvious places i expanded my search and finally located the cache 10-12m from the coords (at least according to my swinging gps)
Thanks.

Went angling in Rifle Range Creek and hooked this cache quickly. OCW Brewmaker. TFTC Sicad69
Today I set out on a trek to do a some of the Rifle Range Creek Series, plus Ensconced and Keyhole Tree. I parked at the bottom of Perry Street near the trail entrance and promptly left my water bottle in the car !
Log is good here
So in 3 hours;
Off to Rifle Range creek #3 Up and away - Found - pretty straight forward. There is barely a track along hear but just enough to see a way, in some places wet under foot despite no good rain for a week. There are heaps of little black mossies. The log is very fragile and will need attention soon.
After that I set my GPS to Rifle Range creek #1 Golf course view - again the track is almost non-existent but follow the creek, there is a slight trail. A bit of a bush bash in places with spiders and mossies. I had pre read the hint and spotted it from a way off. Cache is in great condition.
Back tracking, off shooting and bush bashing to a DNF ~ Rifle Range creek #4 Round here somewhere - I spent 30 mins going round and round the one structure. Messaged the CO for extra hints. Perhaps in future.
From there I set out to do Rifle Range creek #2 Invacare, a minute and it was CIH, Cache is in very good shape.
Now off to Ensconced - Lord have mercy what have I got into !! Difficulty 1.5 wow ! I’m thinking 2.5, Terrain I agree 3.5 at a minimum (I came in from Trent Road after doing Rifle Range creek #2 Invacare. Hardly a trail and you really need to watch your footing. Many big rocks and caves to admire and scramble over. Just trust your GPS. Great hide. I could have easily missed this one but it had that tell-tale signature. Good container too. All in excellent order.
Now to get out of here towards Rifle Range creek #5 The Cresent Trail. I came up from Enconsed “DON’T DO THAT !” unless you have insect repellent, strong grippy shoes and are training for an Ironman event. I almost phoned in the Westpac Rescue Chopper. I slipped down one rock crevice and felt my knee twinge I grabbed it quickly and I think I was pretty lucky. Writing this log up at home it seems OK. Where was the Rescue chopper going to land anyway !! I had to stop half way up the other side for a drink - man no water bottle on the hook !!! I bashed out to Randall Street and then it was a quite easy path. A large cache with spot on Co-ords. All in very good condition. I picked up the trackable Wood Po Po TB7CM32 and will take to QLD on an upcoming trip - Covid permitting !
I um and arh!d about Keyhole tree as I was really knackered but it was only 185m or so and I sussed it was on the well-defined Cresent Trail Walking Track. Found quite easily, the cache is in very good condition. Cool tree - well once it wasn't!
Walking back to my car along Randal St I bumped into my Optometrist ! I asked him if there was trail from Perry St or Lenton Place to The Cresent trail - you know what he said ... "Not that I've ever seen" !! We laughed, I was exhausted ! Well there is a bit of a trail now.
A good day out

Teamed up with marj01 for a days caching, our first outing in a while. The break from caching has sharpened marj01's senses as he was on fire today when it came to finding the hides. TFTC Sicad69
Fun, fast and easy. Log is suffering from age and quite fragile - could do with a fresh one, but still serviceable. Tftc.
Short walk and follow the track, found it by ozuk and thanks Sicad69 for organising the cache
Doing some fire protection works in the area and grabbed a cache as well. Tftc. Is the fence to keep the golfers in because that would be a good idea. We don’t want them mixing in normal society.
Catch 22 #Brawn up the hill was a bit too tough for me, so we walked down to picked this one up. Very useful hint. TFTC.
Had some unexpected time to myself this morning and thought it would be a good day to give this series ago when I could move quickly by myself. Having cleared a DNF that had been taunting me for a while over at Lake Parramatta, I drove over to this area and parked nearby to start with this cache. Made a quick find. SL, TFTC!
Quick find with Ris768, Thanks Sicad69 for placing this cache

After finding Rifle Range Creek #2 I wanted a second cache to make the long drive worth it. This wasn't the cache I was targetting as I thought after last night's huge storm the creek would be too difficult to cross but as I drove past I spotted a muggle walking out with his dog so I decided to give it a try.
Quite a few large trees have been uprooted in this area during the huge storm a couple of weeks ago. Debris was everywhere and I had to do some ducking and climbing over to reach the GZ area.
Once there it was a fairly quick find. SL which was remarkably dry considering all the storms lately.

After a failed attempt at a nearby multi, Deep_99 saw that this one had been found earlier today and so we knew it was a good one to go for. Nice quick find. SL #3878 on streak day #2376 TFTC
Came out on a fresh Sunday afternoon to explore Rifle Range Creek. Clever little hide here plus we found a golf ball. SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
Out to find the last remaining piece. Quite a large area flattened as swirling GPS struggled being in a valley with tall trees playing havoc. Made the find after a long search, thanks Sicad69
Located at 7:18pm. Wow! Very clever! So many, many potential hiding places. I wanted to gather a few caches after a long day at work and this was my first stop. Спасибо! תודה! L’chaim! TFTC!
My first find of the day as I explore a new area.
That was a sneaky hide, I needed the hint for this one !

Back in the North Rocks area for my daily find. Wow quite a laboratory here. Must be fun times for the neighbours in the evening. Had a bit of a search but didn't locate anything cache-like until I read the hint and description.

When we first arrived at GZ we stumbled upon some young teenagers smoking weed. Decided to do the others in the series and came back to do the cache again. Good clue. Shame GZ is littered with rubbish and graffiti. CIH
Liked the range of palms growing by the creek here. Nobody over the fence so I searched unhindered.
Sadly, these containers often aren't too waterproof and the log in this one is very damp. I did what I could to dry it and the container out and managed to sign, but this one might need some RITR paper or some protection.
Thanks again Sicad69.

After completing catch22 Brawn I saw this one not to far away. A short stroll from the car soon had me at GZ where a short search located the hide.

Found after a short search and having an AH moment after rereading the hint it all became clear.
From a message it looks like this one is gone. Will replace asap but may take a few weeks.
Hopefully this is a find. I navigated to the GZ, checked many objects then returned to the one that matched the clue. There was what I would call a micro magnet there but no cache. CO will get a message to confirm.

Cache was indeed missing, think muggles may have got it. New cache hidden a little more and with natural camo.
Please replace as you find it!

Selected this one to be the cache of the day, to keep our current streak up. Parked in Woodbury Street and followed the slope down to GZ. On the GPS map the creek seemed to be significant, but it was really just a trickle. The GPSr had some problems with settling under the trees. After a while of searching we finally saw the cache, looking from a different angle and in a spot we had actually already had the hand on. It is a pity with all rubbish lying around, and also with the graffiti on the nearby structures.
Found it on a warm spring Sunday. I parked at the suggested spot. Geocache was a quick find. Nice container. TFTC
After almost three weeks on a cruise ship where, even at my advanced age, I was one of the youngest guests on board, and YGAT a mere baby, I was desperate for some solitude in the great Aussie outdoors. Sicad69’s two new series of urban bushland caches seemed to offer that, and indeed they did.
An added bonus was that I don’t think I have cached these bush corridors before. It was a very pleasant experience and I saw no one else during the almost three hours I was wandering those long and winding tracks.
I decided to find the caches in order so this was the first I attempted. It was a quick find thanks to the hint as my GPSr was a bit off today. I liked the re-purposed container.
Nice one, thanks Sicad69.

Just came back to one of my favourite spots back in year 8. Found this one with ease. Thanks man.
Was away overseas when these were published so no FTF chance. None with b@w around anyway! Parked and wandered in making a relatively quick find of a new container for me. Signed and replaced.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Logical position and a great urban trail. Good warm weather today too, although cool in the shade.

19/10/16. 11:05 AM. Cache #4316.
1st of 5 finds in North Rocks this morning.
I decided to grab the Rifle Range creek series today, in #1 to #5 order. I parked at this cache's recommended WP and made my way down towards GZ. A bit unsure about a micro in the bush, but the hint got me thinking I might need to look for somewhere a bit more man-made. Sure enough, I soon spotted a likely hiding place, and then the cache quickly after.
Signed as 3TF (looks like Hade was here yesterday but yet to log). Back to the car and drove around to #2 Invacare. TFTC.

I was supposed to be able to sleep in this morning after several late nights. Instead I was woken up by someone who missed the bus for a lift!
After many cups of coffee I was out to find some caches.
I was going to find another cache in this area last week but ran out of time. Just as well since this cache series was published. Now I can grab them all.
Thanks for the cache.

Usual suspect here!
In a conversation at a recent event the First2Finder asked me why I hadn't grabbed these caches, which are in my usual sphere of influence, on publication.
Easy answer - I was on the Central Coast. Meh, it happens.
So I'll grab these at my leisure now one at a time on days I need a quick find close to home.
Like today.
Arrived at GZ only to have two groups of schoolboys walk past in quick succession. Luckily I wasn't near where I found it, but there may be muggle issues here as the first group sounded like regulars here.
Once they were all gone it took me 15 minutes before I found it. Completed signing duties and replaced.

We saw all the publishing but was still getting sorted from being away and a check after lunch showed the usual locals had not appeared so with the lure of 5 new caches we headed off in hope several hours after publishing. The Golf was the first one in this series and like all those to follow the co ords where good and no real issues making the finds. After Golf we drove round to #2 which was our base for hunting down the others. Some nice bits of bush although the survey pegs near #4 may mean some future development coming. It turned out to be blank logs in all so a quick field log on the web to let others know **FTF** was gone. TFTC
Congratulations Bella at Waggy on FTF.
Can you at least post date and time found if you cant manage a proper log.
