Phew!!! This is a very pongy area and I was glad to make a quick find and get out of there. Not sure why I had missed this one last time I was in the area but I think it was to do with an official truck parked near the gates so we moved on at the time. TFTC

Today, a group from Canberra (and some from surrounding areas) are in Bathurst for the next in our Invasion series. We were last here 4 years ago, but there are plenty more caches these days. This years group includes barb2e, Isopeda, Youban, DTY, Tankengine, Kittykatch, Joolay, GLISS!, domskys, FurfacesLL, TikvaNZ, minniek, fitzy_1965, Contesta and myself. All caches found were signed as CBI24 standing for Canberra Invasion of Bathurst in 2024.We had quite a long list of caches that we hoped to find over the weekend, and it is pleasing to note that most of us found all on our own list for today except one that looks as if it has fallen victim to The Winter Festival. After collecting a few in town, the main group concentrated on Peel Reserve in the morning, while others, including me, Youban, and barb2e, followed our own agendas.Huge thanks to all cache owners for the great hides and puzzles that I encountered today. I had a thoroughly enjoyable day, which has left me somewhat weary, so please excuse the generic logs. This was one of the caches that we found and signed.
A bit of an interesting odourHeading to Bathurst area for the weekend with a group of cachers to tackle the Peel Reserve puzzles and some other good stuff . Signing as CBI24Thanks for getting me out and about Apsley168

A weekend of fun with a group of Canberra cachers. The weather was beautiful, cold and clear with little wind and it was a perfect day to be out walking and exploring and enjoying a winter weekend in Bathurst. We signed the logs as CBI24 ( Canberra-Bathurst Invasion 2024)Thanks for all the adventures and efforts to create some fun hides for the Geocaching community. Domsky
On a mission to clear my local map and its a nice afternoon for a walk. Super quick find at gz. TFTC.
Reperio 07:19I needed to be in Bathurst this morning to pick up a ticket for the Mount Panorama Punish event the next day, so it gave me a great opportunity to grab a couple of caches.Headed up the road a bit to find this one, and whilst it wasnt where I expected it to be when I pulled up, I could spot it from a distance. No luck for me today….it’s certainly well hidden if it is still in place. TFTC
Just checked on this and found it was missing, so I’ve replaced it and it’s ready to be found.
No luck. A council worker came to ask me what I was doing. He’d seen me on security cameras.
DNF today even when all 5 family members were with us on a scooter ride. We will be back another day.
# 7516 In Bathurst with iPlod65 for a weekend of socialising, parkrun and geocaching of course. The weather hasn't been great, but we got a minor repreive on Sunday with some sun for the first time.
I was last here back in April but only grabbed a few. Good to be back to reclaim some DNFs and see some more of the micro-capital of the central west.
Seems like this is usually a tricky one, but not to hard for us today. Log was wet and pulpy so we couldn't sign it. We have a pic of the log if required.
Thanks Apsley168

Weekend trip to Rylstone July 2021. I had decided to head out west to spend some time getting caches I was not able to on my last visit.
Today was a long loop to Bathurst via Sofala, Hill end and Cullen Bullen. This was a cache I managed to not find last time I was here. Today it was out and in place. The log is damp and delicate.
Thanks for the cache Apsley168

Tftc. Wasn't going to bother as a couple of end but passing so had a go and came up with a smiley face.
We have travelled from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Bathurst for a 9 day holiday, camping in our Jayco Swan Outback Camper Trailer at the Bathurst NRMA Big4 Caravan Park, and plan to collect some caches & Adventure Labs in the Bathurst and surrounding areas.
Today we went for a drive up to Abercrombie, completing the cache trail along the Macquarie River walking path, then back down to Bathurst town centre via West Bathurst, collecting caches along the way. We ended the day with a few caches at Macquarie Vale. This was the 4th of 30 finds for the day (day 6), and 94th find of the holiday.
A quick find, with a whiff of sewage from across the road. Signed the log and then replaced as found. The solar panel farm at GZ is most likely used to supply the sewage works across the road with "green" power. TFTC Apsley168.

Winter 2020 trip to Bathurst. Day 3. I joined forces with Fitzy_1965 and MinnieK for another visit to Bathurst and the surrounding area to visit new caches and try to find caches we have all managed to not find on previous visits. It was an overwhelmingly successful trip where we all managed to find some nemesis caches that stretch back several years and many trips to the region. Despite the cold we camped each night and had a most enjoyable weekend now we are allowed out to roam a bit further.
I headed out by myself for a few of the caches the others had already done while they slept in. A very satisfying 90mins of caching that meant I was happy to head out of town after we packed up. Mind you I am not always successful ...
Thanks.

Not being Australian, the references of previous logs to the appropriateness of the name was lost on me. It also took some time to locate this little guy but the Coords are right on! Just as I was returning the log, a fellow from across the street smelly place dropped by to see what I was doing. He had no idea so I explained the concept. We ended up having quite a chat about the history of the area and the climate... Thanks Apsley168 for all the effort in placing these hides.
The array of objects was soon sighted,
and the aromas from across the way smelt
This area is a real assault on the senses [^]
So where's the cache ??
What does the cache name mean ??
I answered one of the above by finding the cache
The other will remain a mystery [:o]

Short overnight camping stay in Bathurst and we took some time for some caches. Managed to cross off about 11 DNFs from previous visits ! Happy about that ! This was one of them. Quick find at GZ this time. Signed the log, replaced the cache, and headed off to the next one.
Thanks Apsley168 !! Appreciate you replacing this one.

Having a caching day while spending time with the new lady in my life. Last one for the day, but no success. I searched for about 10 mins but workers from the works over the road started looking in my direction, so I decided to leave. Perhaps when I return in a few weeks time...
Almost walked away when one last spot suggested itself and there it was. Perfect name for the location - thanks Apsley168.
We decided to walk along the path and the road on our fitness excursion and stopped for the cache. Did not spot it and there were a few muggles around so we were about to leave when Becon said "what about there". And it was there. Thanks Apsley168. We left singing Doe a deer etc.
After being alerted that this might be missing, I checked on it and found that it was missing, the container having been removed from the ring attaching it to its location. Because this is such an out of the way spot, I suspect deliberate sabotage, especially since several of my nearby caches were also found to be missing. It's really sad that this happens when killjoys spoil the fun for others. Surely not another geocacher!
It's been replaced and I hope it lasts.

We arrived in Bathurst today and though we were meant to be buying groceries we somehow ended up doing this cache instead before making our way to the supermarket. Some clever and creative cache hides we have happily been able to find in our interlude before the more mundane chores. Thanks to Apsley168 for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
In Bathurst for a SES Competition over the weekend which ended just after lunch, wilbert67 and I decided to tick off a few caches in town before we headed for home. Holding our breath longer than comfortable as a muggle slowly strolled past, ducked down for the quick find before quickly returning up wind of the nearby facility. Nope, still don’t get the name.
After a long weekend at the Bathurst showground, we still had time to pick up a few caches in Bathurst. Together with MizMaz a fun afternoon with some good finds.

Hi there Apsley168.
We found your cache **"--- -- ti do"** at 12:27:00 PM today. (This makes our find count 17922).
We cached around the 'burbs of Bathurst today, & thoroughly enjoyed our tour around the area. We ended up finding a variety of container types and sizes hidden along the way.
Today we found 11 caches (& DNF'd 2). Thank you for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

#1683 - A quick dash for a few caches with my muggle friend after groceries shopping, I found this little critter. After two DNFs I may add. That's my lot when I come down from QLD and go caching in Bathurst. So, you can imagine my joy when I finally found one again. After a nice walk on a slightly cool, but sunny afternoon, I found this one easily. Signed the log and walked back to the car.
I tired to figure out what I had to fill in at --- --, but probably not all that necessary to find the cache.
TFTC Apsley168 (I found a few of your caches last year, and I think we met as well...)

A slow and steady catch up of logging. So far behind, yet as I look over my the list of my unlogged caches, some 400 of them, I am torn between writing out a separate log for each or a generic log for the lot. The only reason it has gotten this far out of control is the time consuming task of logging each one. So sorry to say generic logging wins.
If you the owner really want a fully log please contact me and I will be happy to return and write a personal full log for you.
