This weekend was a caching road trip to the Hawkes Bay with Mr Gap, something we have not done together in a long while.
Weather forecast was good so we set off late Friday afternoon arriving in the Hawkes Bay about 7.30pm so settled in to our accomodation and planned our weekend of caching.
We needed a couple of caches today for a personal challenge we are doing which we were able to collect.
Saturday started off very slowly with some caches taking longer to find than others but once we started doing the trails in the area caches came fairly quickly.
Had some interesting chats with people on the way, wondering what we were up to.
A few of the caches on the trail were quite damp but still writeable.
Sunday was homeward bound so made caches we picked up were mostly drive bys.
Great weekend with 52 caches collected for the weekend. SLTFTCaches

Love the sculpture and what a view he must have of the plains. He looked a bit lonely though as there was no one in the paddock. TFTC
Quick stop and find on my way to Hastings for a Tenpin Bowling Tournament. Thanks Push'n East for the cache.
Easy found. Good view of the sculpture.

A nice and quick find, at a nice view point of the bull. Cheers.
I took my bike for a ride around Napier, Hastings and Havelock North today. Weather was a bit on the warm side, but had a great time anyway.
Thanks to all of the COs for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Over from the UK with my wife, parents and daughters to celebrate my 50th birthday. We are staying with friends in Havelock North for Christmas.
Easy find of the cache. Thanks for bringing me here as I would not otherwise have noticed the interesting sculpture

#5112. Its the longest day of the year and I am planning a big caching day. Spent the night in Hastings at the local holiday park and now doing a few Hastings caches before heading south via Route 52 to Masterton and then back to Wellington. The plan is to find at least 70-80 caches today so I can get my numbers up for the bulk find component of the DGSC challenge (1500 needed in a year). Part of a blitz to try and get an additional 200 caches found by Boxing Day. I have done 82 in past 2 days driving from Auckland to Hawkes Bay. Interesting sculpture here. Quite cleverly done. Quick find of the cache. Signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache Push'n East. Time to head south now.
Found as part of our Labour Weekend Geocaching Adventure with Furbies, lillianz, PhantasmNZ & Mrs PhantasmNZ. Log signed as "PFLL17".
Very cool artwork, thanks for the hide

The last cache as we head out of Havelock North.
Mrs Rattll was looking around wondering where the sculpture was when Mr Rattll pointed it out further up the hill. Very cool.
Thanks for setting this cache up Push'n East.

I was driving through the Hawkes Bay and stopped to grab some of what I thought would be easy drivebys. Turns out some were easier than others! A good day of finds. Thanks.
A nice 4 km walk, return trip from home to this cache. Nice to have one so close to home and what a beautiful day it was for a walk. Spotted the bull as we got closer to gz and a nice quick find of the cache. Thanks for adding to the HB caches. Log signed b&p.
Thanks for the cache Push'n East.

We set off on our geocaching weekend around 9am after Mr watcache finished work and stopped by here on our way towards Napier it was a quick find here today. What a nice area for a cache a bit wet windy here but that didn't stop us from grabbing our coats to get this cache. Thank you for placing a cache here we thought it was strange seeing a cache here waiting to be found, thought we had completed this area, but with caching that's never possible really is it?Don't recall seeing the bull on the hill before though. The views were amazing all day. we signed the log. placed the cache back where we found it. 7 degrees now a bit chilly here. Now quickly into the warm car again and on the road to the next cache TFTC on dark now nearly time to stop caching for the day
Found with miss 7 while miss 9 is at her Tuesday afternoon art lesson. I've never been down this road before, so thanks for taking me somewhere new. Tftc
nice day to pick up a couple caches. interesting bull on the hill, thanks for drawing attention to it. TFTC
Quick find after finishing a cycle trail on the other side of Havelock North. Funny - I met CO earlier at another cache - never mentioned a new one to be published.
Arrived at GZ hoping for a Hawkes Bay first, however was 32 mins late following Jodiporshe.
Thanks for another smilie. Great to meet you earlier today.
Did you know that planning has started for a Mega Event in Wellington in 2018? Check out the details on the [Wellington Event NZ (WENZ) Website](https://sites.google.com/site/wenzgeo2018/home) or visit the event's page on [FaceBook](https://www.facebook.com/groups/590545297801072/).
Thanks to the Cache Owner who has gone to the trouble of creating this cache, determining the coordinates and then averaging them to make sure they are accurate, placing the cache and registering it online for our enjoyment. Without Cache Owners doing their bit, there wouldn't be a fun hobby that we all love - so again a big THANK YOU. For our bit, all we need to do is find and log the cache that was carefully placed for our personal enjoyment. As we log it we should consider that the Cache Owner also needs to maintain it - when the log sheet fills up, they must replace it. When the container becomes full of water, they need to empty it. When the container is broken, they need to repair it. When it goes missing they need to find or replace it. Well..... the great news is we can do our bit too - make sure your log doesn't take an entire page - just a name and date. If full of water, empty and dry the cache as best as possible. Be careful when handling the cache and make sure you replace it where you found it. If it has a bag, seal it. Just remember - the Cache Owner showed respect to you by placing the cache - please respect them and fellow cachers that follow you by being careful with the cache. And if you have a spare log sheet and the cache you are at needs one, please leave it behind. Finally, if the cache does need maintenance, please let the Cache Owner know - you can log a Maintenance Log or you can drop a line to the Cache Owner. Above all - have fun and remember the Geocaching Code.

Mrs JP had finished netball in Napier when I noticed caches published. Had a few hours spare so went for a quick drive. Have been thinking about placing a cache here for a while as part of our what the art is it series as this artist has created other sculptures around the bay but have never managed to get out here to place one. Quick find and a clean log TFTC [FTF]
