Today was an absolutely amazing day for geocaching! I woke up early, packed my bag with all the necessary gear, including my GPS and hiking boots, and hit the road. The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and I was ready to take on the world of geocaching.

The first cache I set out to find was in a nearby park, nestled in a dense thicket of trees. As I approached the coordinates, I noticed a fellow geocacher making his way towards the same spot. We exchanged greetings and introduced ourselves, and it turned out we were both after the same monster of a cache.

We decided to work together and started our search, combing through the underbrush, climbing trees, and scouring hidden nooks and crannies. After what seemed like hours of intense searching, we finally found the cache. The feeling of pure euphoria and triumph that washed over us was indescribable. We let out a loud scream of "*FTF*!" (Even though it wasn’t), high-fived each other, and took a celebratory picture.

That was just the beginning of our geocaching adventures. We went on to find several more caches, each one more challenging and exciting than the last. We even stumbled upon a cache hidden under a waterfall, which was both thrilling and refreshing.

As the day wore on, we started to notice a strange phenomenon happening around us. Every time we found a cache, we felt a surge of energy and power that we couldn't quite explain. We joked about having tapped into "The Force," and laughed as we imagined ourselves as Jedi knights of the geocaching universe.

At one point, we found ourselves lost in a thicket of dense foliage, struggling to find the next cache. As we trudged through the underbrush, we suddenly heard a strange noise. It sounded like a person whistling a tune, but the source of the sound was nowhere to be seen.

Suddenly, a man appeared out of nowhere, seemingly materializing from the trees themselves. He was tall and lean, with skin as dark as coffee and an easy smile on his face.

"Hey guys," he said, "looks like you're lost. Need some help?"

We were hesitant at first, having been taught not to accept help from strangers. But there was something about this man that put us at ease. Maybe it was his friendly demeanor, or maybe it was the fact that we were all geocachers, united by the same passion.

Either way, we accepted his offer and followed him deeper into the woods. He led us to a hidden waterfall that we never would have found on our own, and we were able to find the cache that was nestled behind it.

As we signed the logbook and recorded our names, we turned to thank the stranger who had helped us. But he was gone, vanished into thin air like a mysterious apparition.

As we made our way back to civilization, we couldn't help but marvel at the strange and wondrous events of the day. We had found caches in places we never would have imagined, felt the power of "The Force", and even encountered a friendly stranger who seemed to have some kind of magical powers.

In the end, it was a day filled with adventure, fun, excitement, and unexpected surprises. We were all exhausted but exhilarated, our hearts and minds filled with the thrill of the hunt and the joy of discovery.

This was a day we would never forget, and one that we knew would inspire us to keep exploring the world of geocaching and all its many wonders. We couldn't wait to see what other amazing treasures were waiting for us out there, just waiting to be found.

So if you're ever looking for a great time and an adventure like no other, join us in the world of geocaching. Who knows what incredible treasures you might discover, what random strangers you might meet, or what hidden powers you might uncover? The possibilities are endless, and the rewards are truly priceless.

We planned to get down to Rutherglen to try and collect all the caches in the area before the mega so we could relax a little more as Mega’s always seem to be a little hectic. With the Canberra day long weekend on the horizon a plan was hatched, and accommodation was found. Our attack group ended up consisting of Rapidlywild, DARKSIDEDAN, Sui_001 and only half of the FurfacesLL team as the other member is broken, seems we are taking turns. We ended up collecting all the trails we had intended to do and many others in varying shapes and sizes and types.

The last day of our jaunt down this way and with the bikes on board we decided to knock this trail off as well. Always love a bike ride thrown in with a caching trail. Should be more of them.
We had a couple of DNF's today but all others were found in good condition and signed as AB+G's to save room in the logs.

Thanks for the hide Robmc and thanks for a fun weekend away the AB+G's crew.

Plans were put in place for a Rutherglen attack over the Canberra day long weekend with the FurfacesLL, DSD and Sui. We spent 4 days away from home and collected a number of caches of various varieties.

Today was out last day before making our way back to the ACT. We decided we wanted to get the bike trail in Wangaratta completed being we had the bikes on board. We started at the north and made our way south finding caches along the way. We had a couple that we couldn't find so we will need to revisit at some stage. Logs once again signed as AB+G/AB&G to save room on the logs.

Thanks for the cache hide Robmc Smile

Found and signed AB&G with Sui_001, Rapidlywild and FurfacesLL as part of an amazing Rutherglen Invasion. Thanks for the cache and the Adventure.

A huge thank you to Rapidlywild and FurfacesLL for letting me stay in their accommodation and for doing the hard driving on the CSI trail. I had a lot of fun with Rapidlywild and FurfacesLL they are great to cache with.

After a fantastic weekend in Wangaratta for the mega event, it was time to head to Myrtleford for a few days. We got up early, and decided to tick off a few caches in this series before leaving town. The kids walked along the trail with me for a bit before racing to see who could find it first!

Cute train mural nearby brought us here, but we’re eager to ride some of the extensive rail trails that are in the area.

Have added a fresh log sheet to the cache as the old one completely chockers after the Mega! Thanks Robmc for this series and for all you do for our Geo-community. Cache on

Day 2 of the Mega for LuckyL10n and myself and after grabbing one or two more caches in Wang, we headed down to the NKH series to finish these off before heading off to Echuca on our round trip to Mildura before heading home. We signed all but one of the cache in the series, missing out on #2 as our TOTT wasn't enough to reach it. No issues with that, we'll just try again another day.

Thanks Jamin Appleford for this series and the neat area to visit....SmileSmile

16-Jan-22
Found while attending the 2022 Mega event at Wangaratta.

I drove across from Adelaide with Freddo. We took a week to get there and back as we meandered our way around northern Victoria, camping mostly along the river and generally avoiding contact with other people as far as possible to minimise covid risks.

While at the Mega we teamed up with gridge98 & Co. Most logs were signed FEGC (ie Freddo, e.gregory1 and gridge98 & Co).

We targeted some specific caches of interest, but also took the opportunity to find other random caches opportunistically as we were passing. Most of the puzzle caches were solved prior to leaving Adelaide in preparation for the trip.

Although we managed to find a lot of caches over the weekend, we really only barely scratched the surface, leaving plenty of excuses to return to the area another time. I'm sure I'll be back.

Thanks Robmc for the cache.

16-Jan-22
A short stop here today cache was easily found and is all good

After heading to tassie for almost 3 weeks, we detoured to Wangaratta for the Victorian Mega to catch up with some friends that we hadn’t seen for months if not years. We caught up with Freddo and e.gregory1 for the duration of the weekend, travelling around the local areas finding many of the caches that were on offer. To save room in the log books we signed as FEG or FEGC.
A wonderful area and nice to have a look around in somewhere I had only visited for 20mins before.

Thanks for the cache

16-Jan-22
Mega Weekend at Wangaratta we had a great time finding your cache ?? Robmc, thank you so much for placing it.??

16-Jan-22
Found on mega weekend. One of a bunch of caches found and logged. Met some cachers here and they found the cache.

e.Gregory1 and Freddo decided to travel to Wangaratta for Geocaching Victoria’s first 2022 Mega event. The attraction of GeoMaze icon was just too tempting. We packed the Land Cruiser for a bubble environment. There would be some public exposure but we would be keeping it minimal. Fortunately we did not bother with any warm clothes. Fortunately we packed some Bushmans with +20% DEET. There were caches to find and we found caches. We saw a lot of interesting places and met the occasional geocacher or two in the field.

I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count.

This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...

Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

#12863 - 7:38:00 AM; Day 2 of the Wang Mega tour with Sol de lune. Returned to the Mega venue this morning to catch up with a few fellow cachers. The plan was then to hit the road to collect a couple more caches in town before heading out to finish off the Ned Kelly Helmet series (almost!), then to points south and west, with Echuca our proposed destination for the evening on our way to our furthest destination in Mildura. Our first find for the morning after departing the accommodation. TFTC Robmc Smile

Thankyou Robmc for placing this cache.

Find #4989

So excited to be attending my first MEGA and to be out and about after what seems like ages. Have been working very long hours for the past few months on the pandemic front so to have a few days for caching seems like an absolute luxury. ??

Great to meet new faces and to spend caching time with some familiar cachers as well.

Thanks to Robmc for putting out and maintaining all of these caches for our enjoyment! ??
