While we were in the area with ilook4geo we went looking for this cache. Sadly, all we could find was the lid and a piece of swag. We scouted around but nothing else appeared. With no log to sign we just put the two items together and gave them some protection.
Maintenance is needed for this cache please.
Thank you to 154 Crows for placing this cache.

Went for a walk today with goingplaces2 along the old Box Vale Tramway track and a few side tracks as well. Thankfully it didn't rain (well not much) and it was a very pleasant area to spend some time.
This cache was mostly missing and we only found a couple of parts. TFTC.

Finally getting to come out here to see the Forty Foot Falls, but why take the short easy Trail when you can take the long scenic trail (with lots of reasons to stop along the way)! Was certainly spoilt at the Falls! With the recent rain, the falls were anything but disappointing! Well worth the trudge through some mud, bugs and rain!
After an unsuccessful mystery cache, and fighting off the mozzies through the passage, I soon came along this hide and was lucky to pick it up after not too long a search.

We found this one on our walk out around the trails today. We could see others along this particular track, I decided to leave them until the end, hoping to be able to have time to head down the incline need to look out and follow the track around the river.
After finding this one, we continued our walk along the main box Vale Trail through the cuttings and beautiful forest.
With a wet spring, the land is verdant and the birds seemed to be very happy. We struck a little mud along the way, but I suspect that has been worse in the last month or so.
This was a quick find at GZ, although we missed seeing the derelict Ute.
Thanks 154 Crows

We have travelled from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to the NSW Southern Highlands for a short midweek caching holiday, staying in a park cabin at the Mittagong Caravan Park at Emu Plains, and are planning to explore the areas around Mittagong, Bowral, Mount Gibraltar, and Box Vale. Hoping to collect a variety of cache types, including some Earthcaches and Wherigos and previously solved Puzzle caches, and to also complete some of the Adventure Labs in the area. This was our 4th find of the day (day 4), and 66th find of the holiday.
After completing the second stage of the Box Vale Adventure Lab we continued walking along the Box Vale Walking Track, stopping off along the way at this Traditional cache. Quickly uncovered the hide and had CIH. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. TFTC 154 Crows.

Nice easy find - spotted from the trail! Improved the camo a little but it's still in the obvious spot. TFTC!
Log book has been replaced and container given a facelift. Thanks for the note from a previous cacher about the full logbook.
Cache is again good to go.

A quick find on my way back from the Nattai Gorge lookout. A beautiful day for a walk. TFT
TFTC just finishing up the box vale forty foot falls loop. What a beautiful walk. The incline is a killer to come up.
It was a perfect day for a walk into Box Vale. We did few cache on our way to Nattai Gorge Lookout. We didn't have enough time to do the loop. We will be back for sure.
At GZ quick found. We also tried to spot some wombat but we found only the big entry hole.

Beautiful Autumn ANZAC day, muggle boyfriend and I headed out for a walk. Went down to forty foot falls and grabbed this one on the way back. The boyfriend spotted this one straight away (he’s a fast learner) and I may just have him hooked. Geocaching counts as essential right??! TFTC. Forty Foot Falls definitely worth the walk.
This was the next stop along the way. The tramway certainly collects water after heavy rain but we had managed to stay dry so far. The cache was an easy find at GZ before continuing on our loop. TFTC
An area we have orienteered around on many occasions. Today it was a nice walk with slow and first fox.
TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
I didn't realise what we were walking on (really did not read anything before coming here). But quickly realised this must have been an old railway. Derrrr. Lol! Amazing to see it so overgrown. I'll be coming back
Found on a wild windy winters day. It took a little bit of searching. Saw the old Ute about 50m away
Slowly making my way back south after the Wollongong Mega I decided to keep with the 'Gong theme and made my way to Mittagong. I specifically stayed an extra day to follow some of these Boxvale Tramway tracks. Good to see this area preserved in a way and made available to hikers. I started at 3pm, finishing late at night after walking about 14km in the area.
First trad of the walk here, with a quick find at GZ.
Thanks, 154 Crows.

Day 1 on my visit to the district with Bluewattle and enjoying the beautiful walk with intermittent showers not slowing us down. Easy find here and how did that old rusty remains of a car get dumped nearby!
Anyway another good hide here.

TFTC,
General Log:
I joined up with Nana nel and tronador to spend a day trying to do as many as possible in this series.
We arrived about 9:30am and knew that we would be pushing it to complete this arm by 5:00pm.
After a big day caching in Heathcote NP yesterday, the pains began to appear as the day progressed. The further we went, the more we began to enjoy every cache and the scenery more. I will place found on the completes Earth caches and send the answers during the week to the CO.
There was 1 EarthCache I will place a note on and complete it when we go back to do another arm of the series.
Note for this cache:
Strait forward cache.

Quick find on the walk with Tronador and Wazza9, signed log and replaced. Exchanged trackable. Thanks to AsTheCrowsFly.
We made a slight detour to this one as daylight hours at this time of the year do not allow for a really lengthy walk. We found this without any issues but I can't say I saw a ute. Another great hide. Left a TB
The first Sunday in the month, that means walking time here! Today: Boxvale Tram Walk.
Quick find away from the path we were taking, but it’s a freebie! TFTC.

On a bushwalk with the Geokids and I happened to pull out my phone to see if there were any Geocaches around... Lo and behold one was only 100m from us. Quick walk into the bush and there it was. Thanks for the cache and keeping the Geokids interested in bush walking.
A quick find before heading down to the falls. It was a very pleasant and serene walk as I had the place to myself. TFTC

The Geowife is heading into the city with a friend, so that leaves me free to go wherever I wish to wander...
Decided once again that I needed a whole heap of finds today, so headed back south where there are plenty of Traditionals and even solved Puzzles for me to plunder.
Despite the occasional light drizzle, I even did a bush walk for a few finds (took an umbrella that came in handy while signing), and finished the day with a previous DNF.
And even managed to combine a late lunch with grabbing all the waypoints of a multi - still need to calculate GZ for that one.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
And so the start of my bush walk. Parked at the gate on Morris Road and made my way here.
Nice quick find in a logical spot. Signed replaced and on my way.
Pity I don't have the tool for the nearby multi with me today. Next time...

We ducked into the corridor, planning on a return loop to tackle the steps to and from the 40 foot falls. Quite peaceful, and such a lovely day, thus far we had hardly encountered anyone. A quick search revealed the cache. Signed and returned. TFTC 154Crows

Excellent location for a cache, the UTE was for us a bit further in but a bonus sight.. thanks
another away trip from Canberra up into the highlands along with StrangeTrousers, Tankengine and Darkside Dan to attempt the series of caches around the Box Vale Tramway .
The day started a bit damp but thankfully improved to a perfect weather for walking around this area.
A good variety of cache types in this area and all in good condition
thanks AsTheCrowsFly'

#3981 5th for today
I wanted to do something special for my 4000th find, so I gathered a few likely suspects (DarkSideDan, mtrax and Tankengine) for a hastily arranged trip up to Mittagong to tackle the Box Vale track. DSD and I were here a few weeks ago to do the Crow series just across the chasm & we thought we must return. Good to finally make good on that.
It started out a bit damp with some unforcasted rain early on, but it cleared to be a fine and cool day, just perfect for a long walk. I loved following the old tramway, especially the tunnel. The views down the end were amazing and we could almost see it was a long way down. Great to final see this place.
Thanks to my fellow cachers today for helping me celebrate this special occasion in such a great spot.
These rail cuttings are quite spectacular to walk through.
Thanks to the COs: AsTheCrowsFly'

Had a great day doing this Boxvale series today with Strangetrousers, MTRAX and DSD. It was raining lightly at the start, but soon cleared up to be a lovely day. So 22 of 23 in this series (inc 40' falls) of caches in about 7.5 hours. Loved the sections and cuttings on the old trainline, Thanks 154crows.
Easy find for the cache. Enjoyed walking the corridor to get to the cache. Woohoo
Day out in Mittagong to do the Box Vale Tramway series. Good day for it. Signed and replaced. Cache all good. Thanks heaps for the series. Tftc
Returni g from the oz geomuster mega we decided to spen a couple of nights in the highlands. This walk appealed to us with its variety very happy to pick up this one early in the walk. Tftc
It'd been some time since I'd cached in the highlands and the caches had been adding up so today I headed out to the Box Vale area to grab the plethora of caches in the area.
I spent over 6 hours walking around getting the numerous variety of caches which litter the Nattai area. Most of the time was spent on track or trail but occasionally I headed off into the bush where I feel at home.
This cache find was one of many for the day. This was my last find for the area and grateful to be almost back atthe car as water levels were getting low.
Thanks

I was caching in CTH's stomping ground this weekend, we parked at the trailhead nearby and wondered at the BMW sedan heading up the track. we soon came across it again with the owner now peering under the car wondering if his axel was still in one piece. not a bad road for a 4WD but maybe not for the low clearance he had. as he was starting to look a bit annoyed at the situation we continued on the path way and found this cache instead. tftc
Finally time this morning to do the hole Box Vale track with all included. It defenitely took longer then anticipated, but it was worth the effort! enjoyed the difference in caches and containers and the well set out quality trail. Logging all the earthcaches was a massive effort as well.
