Reperio 10:05Day 5 of our tour of Tamworth/Armidale caching trip, and today, Master Vitruvius and I were able to focus on more of the caches closer to the Tamworth area, and then progressively head home to Orange. This one didnt take long to find once we were at GZ.Gratias Whitey WiskasAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
Managed to navigate the long grass to find this one with ilook4geo. All is good here and the log was signed. Thanks for this cache placement go to Whitey Wiskas.
Found this cache with goingplaces2 and am happy to claim the find and add another smiley to the map. TFTC.
Found by Mary and David at 10:10. Could have done with a whipper snipper or, as they say in the US, a weed wacker, or even a flame thrower. As it was, some judicious pruning had to be done to allow access to GZ with minimal blood loss. Our thanks to Whitey Wiskas.
Tftc Whitey Whiskas, rain stopped, blue sky visible in patches. Time for a quick few caches.
Found in the open , full of water.

I'm leaving the new Mrs Mister JD at home while I go to care for my aged Mum in Brisbane for a couple of weeks while my brother visits his grandkids in Sydney. I'm looking forward to seeing
mum but sad to be leaving my wife at home. I'm taking four days for the trip because
I want to find caches, and long trips are way in my past due to my crook back. Caching is ideal as I can stop and start practically as I like. Today's leg is home to Dubbo. I got off to a late start, and found the traffic out of Canberra was horrendous, so I took a back road just out of town, and finished up doing part of a power trail before I got to Yass. I really enjoyed that road, but took too long and found only a few more on the rest of the day. I did stop quite a few times for my back and to give Sophie GeoSchnauzer a bit of a run. Sophie is a bit sad, we have just lost her lifetime companion, Oscar GeoSchnauzer at the ripe old age of fifteen and a half.
This is day 2 of my journey, driving from Dubbo to Tamworth via less traveled ways. We started in Dubbo, collecting caches, fuel and supplies, then headed to Dunedoo, then on to Coolah, Breeza and Carroll. finding caches and a couple of delightful power trails along the way.
Today is day 3 of my trip. Starting in Tamworth, I'm doing some trails and interesting caches around Tamworth, then heading for Stanthorpe. My old Dad used to tell me I wouldn't know what day it was. I never believed him, but now there is evidence. Today, on the 18th April, I signed all my logs with 17th of April. Oh well, he will be having a good chuckle from his perch in heaven ...
Interesting one here, the map hasn't caught up with the road. Found it anyway, coords were correct.
Find no 3 of 29 today. Thanks, Whitey Wiskas

Tamworth and Amrmidale Trip March 2020. Day 3. I headed north with Fitzy_1965 along the New England Highway towards Tamworth. Today we headed out to do caching trails around Tamworth to the North. The day was mostly roadside caches, but they were all of differing levels of challenges, especially when you have to deal with Farmers Friends and Stinging Nettles at almost ever cache.
Thanks.

20,491. Found with albida33 during a meander up to and around the Tamworth and Armidale regions.
Day 3 of our trip. Headed out after breakfast for what turned out to be a big days caching. We aimed to hit some of the trails around the region. Next stop of the day, and we came up with a quick find. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then headed off to the next one.

Hi there Whitey Wiskas.
Today was a drive from Tamworth to Duri, and then out to Lake Keepit, logging caches along the way. The caches we found were all well placed, and the for the most part had pretty accurate coordinates. We can see that a lot of thought has gone into the placement of all the caches we found today.
All up we found 23 caches & DNF'd 0 in this cache run. Thanks for placing the caches. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places while we meander around Australia.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache around 3m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Nothing.
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Found quickly mainly because it was on the ground in plain sight I attempted to place it back where I think it should be but it fell out again to the exact same spot I found it I replaced again in a slightly better location. The CO may want to check this. TFTC.
It is amazing, we keep coming across caches that we are seeing that have been replaced, giving us a second chance of increasing our cache numbers. Thank you. SL TFTC
After spending the night in Gulgong, it was time to continue my journey north. This cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC
Another day on our northern exposure run with a few more than one today we actually saw quite a bit of the country to day and what a dry time we are having.

After leaving Gunnedah we headed to Tamworth. A few new caches to find plus a couple to revisit that we had DNFs on before. It was a sucessful stopover this time. The many caches took us on a tiki tour of your town.
Thanks for placing this cache Whitey Wiskas

I am on my way home from the OZ Geomuster in Morisset.
Today's geocaching adventure has taken me from Willow Tree to Bungara.
This was my another stop along the way for the day.
I made a quick find here as I make my way out to Keepit Dam. [^]
Plenty of parking here.
Thanks for the cache.

Whilst in Tamworth having a day of caching along the road to Warialda then over to Lake Keepit. We appreciated the variety of cache containers, placement and the surroundings they were placed in. Thanks to all the COs fro your time and effort in placing these caches for us to find.
Decided to spend a few days in Tamworth with my geodog Scruffy, so we just had to get out and find some of the caches hidden in my old home town.

" Redfaced "maybe re the previous !! replaced the cache in the original location! "Hoping" that is allowable!! Thanks Whitey Wiskas ....
A morning ride to the cache, could see where it may have been, then a find, tftc
This one is a real No No. Geocache guidelines state not to harm any thing that is alive.Drilling a hole in a growing tree to me is destroying that tree. The tree did not like it one bit for it had started grow around the the cache. To get the Cache out i had to get a pair of pliers to retrieve the container as the tree had grown around it so much.
I put the Cache in a more suitable place but i see it has been put back in the drilled hole.Good idea .Suggest a dead tree be found.

Coords are good now but, oh dear, this tree has been drilled contrary to guidelines to hide the cache, or was that hole already there? SL & replaced.
I have had a fabulous day today. It started with Pa and I exploring Keepit Dam (grabbing the caches of course) and then I commandeered the car and drove into Tamworth finishing the caches I hadn't already found. After lunch I headed north to see how many of Whitey Wiskas caches I could find.
I only had 1 DNF for the day and that was offset by finding a cache I hadn't solved yet!
Thanks to all the COs for placing these caches for us to find. It certainly adds enjoyment to our travels.
All logs were signed as SG as I often do in small caches to save space.

Found at 9:22 AM GAFF5 in the company of NurseHayley.
Oh - now I see what the problem is with so many DNF's - the co-ords are a mere 22 metres out!
As we approached, Hayley insisted that the cachewas there, but I said - no, it is near the guard rail on the main road and you can't drill into that! Well I was wrong [B)]
Thanks Whitey Wiskas.

Came to Tamworth for a Conference. Decided to come in early and leave late so I could do a little caching whilst in the area.
I attempted this one on my way into town. I really had no clue what to look for or how to look for it without drawing too much attention from all the traffic pouring on by so gave up pretty quickly. I'm sure it's still there waiting for me to try again at a better time of day, or night.

On our way to this, our last unfound cache in Tamworth, and it had now begun to lightly rain. Since we'd found the original here we quickly had this one found and signed. TFTC Whitey Wiskas.
