Found on a visit to the Witches Garden down the road. Some water getting into the container. Thanks for the cache and the history lesson!
Found but had to get my muggle partner retrieve this for me. View is spectacular
Beautiful trip to Dartmouth to see the Dam! Crazy how its the tallest Dam in Australia. Quick find once we arrived at the GZ.TFTC
Heading to our accommodation before a day hike up Big Fella. All the recent rains had the spill way in action. No problems making the find. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
On an overnight trip to have a look at the dam spillway

Awesome location, cache was easy to find, no need to go behind the fence. Signed and replaced. Thanks for the cache!
Found with ronnienash after visiting the dam to see the spillway in action. A quick discrete find. Thanks for the cache.
What an impressive sight the dam spilling over is! Definitely worth the 5.5 hour drive...now just to drive home. Awesome container....never seen one that big before. Tftc
We were sitting in town wondering why it was deserted, so we came up here to look at a bazillion bits of water, and what do you know…
The whole world was up here too…
So in between all the muggles …ALL the muggles…as there aren’t any anywhere else, dad became invisible and quickly signed the log sheet and magically reappeared at the car.
Then it was off to marvel at the spectacle that is falling water.
Cheers

Travelled from Melbourne to Wodonga yesterday to bring a friend home who was stranded when the trains and buses stopped because of the floods, turned out to be not too bad on the roads and we finished up with a free day to visit Dartmouth when it’s overflowing
A nice quick find and well out of the way of all the tourists up here to look at the waterfall.
**Thanks for placing this cache jacko***

Like it seems half of Victoria up to see the dam spilling. Crazy numbers of people meant I think the AdLab was not working well. But this was an easy find - only one car here and they moved in as we parked. Went the long way but cache easily found.

Turns out your not meant to walk across the dam. Police were understanding at least.
Quick find, and just hidden away enough from the hoards of tourists

Good little hunt. The dam was fantastic to see over flowing. We did have to watch those muggles they were out and about today.

Huge amounts of water are pouring over the spillway attracting ridiculous amounts of muggles.
We waited, shuffled, hid and finally made the dash for ground zero quickly finding this cache with a spectacular view. Thanks jacko* for the cache.

The spectacle of the spilling dam has been on the social feeds for a while now and so when an opportunity arose to come and see it for myself I took it.
I’ve wanted to see the lake for a long time but never knew how big the dam wall itself was. Photos don’t do it justice, and with so much water spilling over it’s just amazing to visit right now.
Cache was found quickly before going to take more photos.

Took the opportunity to go and view the dam spill. Saw the spill on the last occasion but the memory is a little vague. This is a very impressive site. Only time is going to tell how big an impact will be felt all the way downstream.
We joined many other cars on the road to Dartmouth with 2/3rds of the Beavar team with us. Oohed and ahhhed at the Dam cascading over and before walking to the spillway we found the cache. SL at 12.15pm Left: windmill pathtag. #9103 TFTC jacko* - a good excuse to see the Dam in full flight.
That’s amazing. Well, the dam. Not the cache. It’s cool but not as special as the waterfall! SL at 12:15pm.
Found with McAdies and Geo_Eddie.
We are on school holidays and enjoyed a few days away exploring the area.
Thank you for placing the geocache for us to find today.

Came up today to see the rare event of the dam overflowing down the cascades. Was worth the trip despite the hoards who apparently had the same idea.
Thanks

Came to see Dartmouth overflowing and had to stop for the cache. Love the container
Quick grab between showers! Wonderful to see the dam overflowing! The last time I was here there was barely any water at all!!!
Omgosh what an amazing feat of engineering. The monstrosity of it all just amazing
I am usually on the motorbike when I come up to Dartmouth but am in the car today as I have a friend visiting from overseas with me. I was hoping the spillway would be overflowing but unfortunately it has about 20cm to go.
Made the decision to spend Fathers day in the Mitta Mitta Valley with the family.
After lunch at the Eskdale pub Dart was next on the agenda. Before we looked for the cache we went to check out the spillway, no spillage yet (a week people are saying) There was certainly no lack of people up here today... absolutely packed.
Cache found in good condition dropped off a TB.

Well I was now supposed to be on my 6 week adventure up to Outback Queensland but with my knee failing me I just had to turn back around and head home.
So after 3 weeks of rest at home I was getting cabin fever so for the last week I just had to get out so Western Victoria beckoned so I could grab a few LGA’s and UBD Country VIC maps which would not involve a lot of walking.
So after finishing of Western Victoria I’m now heading to North Eastern Victoria to do the same.
This will be a 4 day whirl wind tour of a lot of Victoria.
Myrtleford’s LGA and UBD map and Corryong’s UBD map are done and dusted so now it’s to head South down the Omeo Hwy from Tallangatta.
I have travelled down this Hwy a few times and have never taken the turn off into here.
That is a one big body of water and the level was not that far off from going over the spill way.
The view from up his great and a nice town as well.
A fav goes out to you for giving me a reason to come and have a look.
Thanks jacko*TFTC.

Great little location, view spectacular as well. Found with BraydsSA while traipsing through the high country. TFTC SL
Hard work after lunch at the Mitta Mitta hotel. But after much effort we got it. TFTCache.
Staying in Mitta Mitta for the night, the plan was always to come up for a look at the dam. That gave me the chance for a find here and sure enough, I had the stash in hand quite quickly at 15:50 after the short scramble to GZ.
A great spot and well worth a fave point.
TNLNSL. Thanks jacko*.

Wow, standing here makes you realise how small we really are. Thanks for bringing me here. Touring around the area for a week and I probably wouldn’t have come here if it wasn’t for the cache. What made it better, was that it was a quick easy find and I don’t have to wast time searching which meant more time to explore new area. Thanks you
Out for a day trip & Hubby suggested we check out the Dartmouth Dam. Nice windy drive up. Parked & short walk to gz. Spectacular dam & view. Thanks for bringing us here! TFTC
Found by edmil & Maddie @2:30 pm.
Great views. Thanks for the cache and the history of building the dam. Log signed and cache returned to hide. Nice and quiet here today saw 2 cars only.

We've escaped from home for a few days -the first break for at least three years. Although caching is on the menu we'll also have some relaxing time. Day one was from home to Wodonga and included five GA caches and four GC caches. Day two was spent wandering along the Mitta Valley and up to Dartmouth Dam.
Disappointing to see a fresh break of a large branch near GZ -not a natural break
Picked up the trackable to get it back into circulation.
Thank you, jacko*, for this cache.

An easter weekend camping trip near Mitta Mitta, with a few caches along the way.
Out today exploring the area, admiring the scenery. Popped over for a quick find. What an amazing dam!
Thanks for your contribution to our gameboard, jacko*

Day 7 of the multi state multi camp adventure. We are now settled at the Witches Gardens in Mitta Mitta and today set off to look for a swimming hole to enjoy.
We ventured up to the dam and whilst it was an impressive view, there was no swimming to be had here. Fortunately there was a cache to be collected along the way.
Found and signed.

Tftc great spot to visit. Dropped off TB Fishy Fishy here by Lake Dartmouth to continue on his travels
Found this afternoon whilst in the area for work with Nichole. Good view of the dam and simple clever hide tftc
Another good find but we were trying not to go past the fence because it was prohibited the hint helped because it stopped us from turning over heaps of rocks unnecessarily TFTC lovely view
In all are travels we would not have even thought to traveled to this location.

Have done many trips to Dart over the years fishing. This time as unable to leave the state due to COVID we’re doing the Murray from NE to Mildura. This cache is sort of an appropriate spot to mark the start of the trip.
I've been in Tallangatta a few days riding motorcycles with some friends. Glorious weather, although smoke from the recent bush fires has blanketed the entire area. We enjoyed our trip to look at the dam and would love to see the cascade if it ever occurs again.
Tftc jackko. All in good condition.

Picked this one up on a 4 day weekend of touring on 2 wheels through the country side chasing WP's of a couple of interstate caches.
After catching up with 50+ other riders at the local Pub for luch it was off to check out the sights and nab a cache or 2.
That is an impressive dam wall.

Interesting back-story for the town of Dartmouth. I guess tourism is good for businesses but I'd rather a town that doesn't attract tourists - at least not the white-panted, chardonnay slurping, BMW/Merc driving toss-pots that ponce around the popular and spoiled touristy haunts (think Lorne, Torquay etc. etc.).
My Pooky mate found this one and while watching him wind himself around the tree branches searching for the cache I was reminded of the sloth from South America. The only difference being that the sloth is better looking!

Camping at Jokers Flat for a week with Biggles of Oz, Mrs Biggles, and geo-friends and today we headed up to Lake Dartmouth for the day. After lunch at the local pub we headed to do a couple of caches and see the dam. While everyone else was admiring the dam, Mr and Mrs Pooky headed off to find the cache. Once at GZ, Mr Pooky made the find then Biggles of Oz and Mrs Biggles came to join us once the searching was all over. TFTC and bringing us to this spot. TNLN.
Tag along wanted to come out here to see the dam as he remembered the controversy when it was being constructed.
It was a delightful stop here And we relaxed at the picnic ground with a cuppa.
Spotted the cache and scrambled to get it.
Thanks Jackie for the chance to visit this interesting site.

Started out a cloudy but sunny day so decided to take the drive to Dartmouth. Been many years since we had been here and lovely to see a cache had been planted. Off to the pub for lunch and a warm by the fire. Tftc.
SciFiRulz had seen this one. and asked me to drive her there to pick it up. so we went hunting TFTC
FTF. Found with PapaGrouch. Saw this one pop-up yesterday when I checked my emails after returning home. Jokingly said to PapaGrouch that we could go out again for a FTF, he was not impressed. Set out today instead and we were very happy to find a pristine logbook waiting for us. Hopefully this cache will last better than the other one which was placed in this area but was muggled. TFTC
