Looks like the fire took care of what the owner did not.

This area was really badley damaged in the bush fires. There was nothing left of the cache, sorry to report this to you. The treasure Island cache however did survive and is an alternative for those who still want to visit this site..

If the next visitor to the island would please bring a large plastic bag to remove the cache remnants it would be appreciated. Let me know when this has been done and I'll archive it. (You could even bring a replacement cache if you like and we'll post that one after archiving this one - assuming you'd be able to do a better job of maintenance than the owner of the current cache.) Thanks! erik - geocaching.com admin

Sorry to report this cache is no more. The large container was smashed to pieces and the cache raided - what a mess.

Still, not too disappointed as a refreshing dip in Brown Lake to cool off was next.

Rumour has it there may be a new cache nearby soon Smile

With there being no surf at the point a trip to Brown Lake was in order and why not a cache search while there.
First a visit to Blue Lake for a swim.
Found the cache easily and in good order although not many goodies but that would be due to the lack of visitors.
Took a bottle sealer and plate hanger left 2 pens 20 cents headphones and a Savage Garden tape. The log book was duly filled out ... the cache was high and dry.
The end of another great week on the island

Found It With Ease!! Big Grin
We had been here twice before, but this time we were on the island to show some visitors around Queensland and also introduce them to the sport of geocaching.
The cache had only one item in it, Sad (Very Light on). We took the only item of the Smiley Glow Faces and replaced with a Wall Plate Hanger and a bottle re-sealer.
Thanks For The Hunt.

Sophie couldn't see the cache until she was almost on top of it. The pliers were a huge hit, and we left behind some glowing smiling faces (if you want more details of what we left, go find the cache). Great spot, you should allow at least an hour before you have to leave.

We found the cache no problems at all. Signed the log book and left a pair of pliers as there was nothing to swap. The cache might be a bit too easy to find as the previous entry on the log book was from some locals who chanced upon it. The cache though is good condition.

Had a great time with the kids in the general vicinity. Thanks very much.
