Overnighting in town before heading further north and had time for a few caches before moving on, with this being my next one.

Left the car where it was and headed further on for this one. Took a bit longer to find due to the neat hide and camo, but all was good and my name was soon in the log book. Then it was back to the car and on towards the freeway.

Thanks again Team BGF....cache all good.

Down in Victoria for the long awaited (and necessarily postponed) Wangaratta MEGA, and a little holiday chasing the usual (oldies, counties and windmills). Just for something different we are adding to the hit list and the graves of the regionally buried dead premiers. Lol the things we will do for a cache! Spent most of today with albida, Smittengranny and GLISS! Always great when we can cache together. Thanks for the cache.

Found at 10:57 am.
Well, the Mega time has come and we aren't locked down so today was the day to get 14 different types of cache. Today was our final day to find a couple of local caches and then start heading home with a fair few stops along the way.
While here looking for a puzzle we also were going past these and with a few favourite points on some of them it was worth it for a challenge we are working on.
Thanks Team BGF for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

A nice quick find here today cache and contents are all good

After heading to tassie for almost 3 weeks, we detoured to Wangaratta for the Victorian Mega to catch up with some friends that we hadn’t seen for months if not years. We caught up with Freddo and e.gregory1 for the duration of the weekend, travelling around the local areas finding many of the caches that were on offer. To save room in the log books we signed as FEG or FEGC.
A wonderful area and nice to have a look around in somewhere I had only visited for 20mins before.

Thanks for the cache

Spending the day around Wangaratta after visiting the main event and maze. Thank you to all the CO's who have placed and maintained around the city. It is appreciated!

16-Jan-22
Found while attending the 2022 Mega event at Wangaratta.

I drove across from Adelaide with Freddo. We took a week to get there and back as we meandered our way around northern Victoria, camping mostly along the river and generally avoiding contact with other people as far as possible to minimise covid risks.

While at the Mega we teamed up with gridge98 & Co. Most logs were signed FEGC (ie Freddo, e.gregory1 and gridge98 & Co).

We targeted some specific caches of interest, but also took the opportunity to find other random caches opportunistically as we were passing. Most of the puzzle caches were solved prior to leaving Adelaide in preparation for the trip.

Although we managed to find a lot of caches over the weekend, we really only barely scratched the surface, leaving plenty of excuses to return to the area another time. I'm sure I'll be back.

Thanks Team BGF for the cache.

16-Jan-22
Found on mega weekend. One of a bunch of caches found and logged.

e.Gregory1 and Freddo decided to travel to Wangaratta for Geocaching Victoria’s first 2022 Mega event. The attraction of GeoMaze icon was just too tempting. We packed the Land Cruiser for a bubble environment. There would be some public exposure but we would be keeping it minimal. Fortunately we did not bother with any warm clothes. Fortunately we packed some Bushmans with +20% DEET. There were caches to find and we found caches. We saw a lot of interesting places and met the occasional geocacher or two in the field.

I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count.

This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...

Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

Wangaratta Mega trip Day 4. It has taken quite some time to get this trip going so it is a great feeling to be on the road for a great weekend away with great caching with friends and new friends. Today was the second day of the Mega itself. I spent most of the day with Gliss, Nibbletricecakes and Smitten Granny. We spent the day visiting as many of the caches around town as we could, doing multis and the puzzles that we had already solved amongst the large number of traditional caches. Another hot day that was very satisfying. The day ended with the farewell to the Mega event and at dusk the second CSI Night cache.

Thanks for the cache Team BGF

In Wangaratta for the mega event this weekend, and today, we ventured out to do a few family friendly caches. This was a nice quick roadside stop, but with the channel in between the road and the path, we parked the car and enjoyed the stroll in between each one.

After organizing some time off to allow us to attend the Wangaratta Mega we are in town for an extended period.
Looking forward attending the various activities organized during the Mega period as well as finding a variety of different caches during our time here while catching up with caching friends we have met over the years.
The weather has been hot for us Gippslanders, but very humid as well.
Our thanks to the Mega committee for the enormous amount of effort that has gone into organizing the event and to the local cachers for their placements

Travelling around with The Drovers we had finished the Ned Kelly's helmet series and now just randomly picking up caches.
We are really enjoying these aviation based caches and learning a lot from them. Again neither of us had heard of Maurice and his record breaking flights, but we did enjoy reading about them on the page and in the copied cutting.
As we said before this history should be taught in school.
It is a shame Maurice did not receive much credit and like many early aviation pioneers gave his life doing what he loved.
Again we were lucky with this hide, The Drovers were on fire today and all we had to do was add our name to the log and a favourite point to the cache page.
our thanks again Team BGF for another very interesting cache,

13-Jan-22
Hi there Team BGF, we found your cache Aviation Pioneers - Maurice Guillaux today.

Coordinate Accuracy: We found this cache near where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: The container and log are in good shape.

Day 1 of my Mega journey, with plenty of sun and kilometres to cover to get myself up to Wangaratta.
Only seeing one snake today thank God over all the day was great, thanks for being a part of a great day.

12-Jan-22
Found at 11:31 AM GAFF1 in the company of maccamob.
There were a lot of well known visitors to Australia in the early days of aviation - for instance Ehrich Weiss (better known as escapologist Harry Houdini), made Australia's first recognised flight in a Voisin biplane at Diggers Rest, Victoria, 18 March 1910. Houdini made three flights that day, the last covering 3km. He later made two flights in Sydney at Rosehill Racecourse, 18 April 1910.
Thanks Team BGF.

Found on a cloudy, cool Sunday morning with my daughter. It was just spitting rain as we pushed our way through the prickly branches! My daughter was very excited when she looked up and spotted it straight away! We took the novelty eraser and left a bouncy ball. Thanks so much for a fun cache!

After a few days of grey skies and rain/drizzle we have been fortunate to see some sun this afternoon. We continued along the path from Lores Bonney to this cache where the cache was found without a problem. And another aviator I hadn't heard of. Thanks to Team BGF for the cache.

07-Nov-21
Suscoe arrived in Wangaratta this morning after a good drive up the highway from home.
It was a drizzly day coming over the divide and then we were bombarded by insects once we were back on flat ground.
It turned into a sunny and cloudy warm day.

Thanks to Team BFG for this hide, it was still and warm here while we were on the walking track.

With the long weekend in Vic it meant more caching time so plans were mate with Omegaman1971 to head to North East Victoria, most of our effort was spent in Wangaratta with a trip to Beetchworth, out to Gtreta to do the NKH series and a small trip up to Cowra NSW, We had a great time finding caches, learning history, exploring the area and catching up with mates.

This is one of the caches we found on our travels.

Thanks Team BGF for the cache.

Generic Log. At home in Albury/Wodonga, we hooked up the trailer with treddlies inside and headed for Wang. Upon arrival, car and trailer was left at a caching friends place in CBD and off we went. Cycling around the township then upstream the Ovens river and return finding 20 Caches. This being one of them.
Some well crafted caches and good hides were apparent. Only one cache needed maintenance which by all accounts a good average. CO was notified.
TeamOZCAT would indeed like to thank ALL cache owners for their input and upkeep of hides.
A WWW (Wonderful Warm Wang) day was had. Again, thanks to all.
Karen had her eagle eye as usual, and her partner found one. No bike breakdowns nor sore behinds. Now for Reg, there's 2 bonuses.

Had an absolute ball in Wang today with my partner signing logs as TeamOZCAT. To save space on log paper, l did not sign as catnap777, but l am sure you all know l was there. I have left the logging of our team's finds to my partner Reggie. I would like to thank all the CO's for providing and maintaining the caches we visited today. All were found in good condition, the one that had issues l messaged the CO about. Bring on the Mega Wangaratta!
