A layover in Brisbane so a great excuse to grab some caches. How interesting the story about the Beatles song.. love finding out about the reasoning behind lyricsIn the company of fellow cachers. Thanks to the CO for placing these caches for others to find.
Watawieh from Norfolk Island South Pacific.I attended the Dayboro Mego that was held over Easter 2021. Unfortunately due to the rain over the weekend and lack of appropriate geocaching footwear at the time I was not able to find all the caches I had on my To Find List. Today with better and skies I returned to Dayboro and found all but 1 of the caches I wanted to find. TFTC This is my find #6596. These TBs visited: Norfolk Island Flag Found & logged using Cachly for iPhone & iPad
I created a cache with this same container so definitely gets a FP. Oink and TftC!
Tftc. One of my favourite George Harrison songs from the first album I ever bought. Well that dates me.
With the purpose of doing Poohsticks today I met up with Duppers (and ATLH a bit later). We have now parted ways as they have a life and I dont. I still had more time to cache solo.Trying to clear off my map around Dayboro and others that were on our list for today, I decided to head here next before heading home.Needing to tramp about 30mts from where I parked, I soon spotted it. Ill give this one a PF.I found your cache, Piggies today. This is my 3273 find.Slow Puncture (LJCC), TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF

After the CITO this morning, Kolour and I decided to head out to Dayboro to pick up some caches. Geohound came along for the adventures.
A quick find, log signed and all replaced as found. I am intrigued about this song now, need to go and check it out.
Thanks Slow Puncture for the cache.

After the Ironbark CITO, Willis007 and I headed to Dayboro. Willis007 had a few target caches whereas they were all target caches for me as I’d never found any in this area, so I was very happy to come along. I signed 28 so a good haul.

I am in the area for the next three days finding caches and camping out.
My main goal is the complete this geo-art.
I have had the final coords for quite some time and discovered along the way that a couple of caches have had a change of final coords which is ok because I know that can happen.
Otherwise, I had a good couple of days slowly driving around the back roads finding caches.
I also found a few non geo-art caches as I travelled past them along the way.
Thanks for the drive, adventure, and caches.

Lying in bed this morning I wasn’t sure what the day would bring. I contemplated going to a festival, having lunch out or going for a walk. I just couldn’t make my mind up. It actually became very stressful to make a decision so in the end I decided to do the thing that makes me happiest. So I got in the car and headed out to find secure a few caches in an area where I had quiet a few solved caches begging to be signed
So now that I had a plan for the day, i headed out in the Dayboro direction. Upon arrival I was as starving so when in Rome do as the Roman’s do so I headed straight for the bakery. Fuel on board I headed out to start the day.
I soon came upon ground zero, secured the find and made my mark. Very happy to turn this cache into a smilie and head on to the next find.
A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found by fellow caches. Apologise for the generic cache.
Cheers

Slow Puncture (LJCC) I found your cache Piggies on 1/4/2023, 10:55 am. This is my find 4899 and find # 4 today. Found it after a brief search. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Chasing horses with swearah and krcamber. We made a stop by this traddie, the others had already found this one but couldn't remember it. I must have looked lost because krcamber came to my aid and managed to find the cache about 10m from where I was looking. Great container and location, tftc Slow Puncture (LJCC) ️

Out with my favourite Geo friends getting some more caches around the Dayboro area. Nice little piggy. Beautiful day in Dayboro. TFTC
Plenty of hiding spots here so thought it would take me longer than it did. TFTC
Staying in Dayboro for a while. Theres definitely no being bored. Weve been tucked inside solving as many puzzles as possible and using lifelines to get help when we hit a brick wall. Today we headed out to convert a couple of smilies. Big day out 46/51. There has been some rain/flood damage but also a grader has been in. Lots of overgrowth too after the recent rains all making for some challenging caching today.

A nice quiet country road and a wild deer running along beside us as we drive. Just amazing. Parking close to gz we took a short stroll into the bush and we found a little piggy hiding in the third place we looked. Awesome container. TFTC
Sharpem and I decided to pick up a few smileys. Loved this spot and the cute container. Giving it a FP FOR all the fun
The light is leaving at the end of the day and this was to be our last cache find (we hoped) for the day. Aussie Bob was out of the car in quick time and I was bringing up the rear with him waving his hiking stick around in the air in case spiders were waiting to grab us. His instincts on alert he headed straight for GZ and made a quick find. Loved the container and gave it a pat and retrieved the log for signing. Replaced as found and we were on our way back to camp for dinner. Thanks Slow Puncture.
Another satisfying traditional hide to add to the find count today. Nice easy parking, not too far off track, and a quirky container. What else can you ask for!

Day 4 of our Dayboro mega weekend and spending today searching around town between the showers - thanks to the COs for placing these caches for our enjoyment.
Found at 2:48:00 PM GAFF1 in the company of maccamob.
Wow - haven't seen one of these piggy banks for years! Looks like it has been raided of all its money though.
I didn't know that George Harrison wrote that song?

Gathering some more caches around the Dayboro area with ilook4geo as the Mega wraps up. It is a dismal rainy day, but at least we can still go caching in gum boots. Thanks go to each CO for contributing to the caching scene. We enjoyed all the finds made today.
Last day of caching around Dayboro with goingplaces2. Found quite a few and enjoyed the caching despite the wet weather. Thanks go to the CO for placing this cache.
Today with Day 2 of the Dayboro Mega event, I returned back to Dayboro to attempt a solo yet full day of finding the various solved *Horse* and *We* ?? *Geo* geoart, as well as any other interesting cache types. The weather was rather damp with a continuous pour of rain and showers, and although the light rain was tolerable, there were a few periods of heavy downfalls that were rather miserable. I ran into many other Geocachers during the day, and once my last remaining natural light was lost, I headed back home, grabbing a fast food dinner on the way.
During my travels around the vicinity, I made a stop here, and the cache was a reasonably quick find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape, and I did think it was a cute cache. Thanks Slow Puncture (LJCC) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Grabbing a few caches before the rain sets in today. Teamed up with wazzadavid late morning, and we were able to exchange some of our final coords on puzzles.
Caches were all found in reasonable proximity of cores. Trackables visited and log signed

Today I was out and about as part of the Dayboro Mega day caching run with Gunnie69 and NurseyJulie, who both got some milestone achievement at the mega. As well NurseyJulie was chasing most cache types in a day! The forecast was for some rain, but in the most part it kept away. The plan was to hunt down some nearby caches and attend the Mega, the trivia night and attack the lab series!
Thanks Slow Puncture (LJCC) for the cache, the hunt and the smiley today! [D]

Hmm, so it turns out I forgot to log this back on the Mega weekend, after I visited GZ with Ghostgums and NurseyJulie, where the cache was found with no trouble.
I guess I should log it now as we were back in town today and I wondered wht this icon was still on the map, but not on my compadres.
Retrospecitve log on 22 August, yeah just a little late. But logged on the day it was found to align with the etchings in the log book.
Cheers Slow Puncture.

#11123; Day nine of a road trip with Sol de lune for the CacheQLD - Dayboro Mega. Arrived in Dayboro Thursday afternoon and started our socialising and caching in the area. Our caching continued today as part of Team Capital Crunchers, along with Smittengranny, Kittykatch, Joolay, isopeda and barb2e. Our mission today was solved puzzles, in particular the "Horse" geoart series, but we picked up caches from other geoart series, along with other caches we passed along the way. Most caches were found without incident, some harder to get to than others! All in all a damp at times, but otherwise pleasant day caching around the area again before cleaning up ready for the trivia night. Apologies for the generic logs. TFTC Slow Puncture (LJCC)
Found this cache as part of our Easter long-weekend road trip to the Dayboro mega event. A great adventure and plenty of finds, teamed up with Wilbert, Mizmaz and steeba for this roadtrip.
Many of our logs are signed with "Gong gang" to represent all four of us who were present. Apologise for the boiler style log.
Thanks for the cache.

Dayboro trip. Day 9. The first full day of the Mega proper dawned and with it the formal opening was observed early in the morning. We then broke into team to spend th3e day caching, targeting the several geo-art series in the vicinity of Dayboro. I was joined by Fitzy_1965, MinnieK, Nibblericecakes and Gliss. There were showers on and off all day, but the caching went well, with only a few small breaks when it was too wet. It was great to see all the caches in place and despite some of them being fun and tricky, the pre-mega puzzle solving effort was well rewarded.
Thanks.

24,122. Found with minniek on our Dayboro QLD MEGA Adventure trip. For today we also cached with albida33, Nibletricecakes and GLISS! to form and sign as MiNiFiGAS!
With the sudden COVID outbreak in Queensland putting the Mega in doubt we decided to head up to the New South Wales / Queensland border hoping that it would still go ahead, and with the announcement that things were mostly returning to normal we decided Plan A still looked good. Day 4. An early start today with an aim of caching our way through some of the Geo-Art around Dayboro (all being pre solved) plus various bonus caches along the way This was the first stop for the day. We parked nearby this one for a quick find at GZ. Signed the log as MiNiFiGAS!, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one.
Thanks CacheQLD and all the other Cache owners !! Please forgive the generic logs.

Easter trip away with fitzy_1965 for the cacheQLD Dayboro Mega.
After the Mega Opening Ceremony, we teamed up with nibletricecakes, GLISS! & Albida33, signing logs as MiNiFiGA's. Today was the day to put our puzzle solving hard work to the test. We did not let the persistent rain dampen our spirits, tackling the Horse, Pacman & part of the We <3 Geo Geo-art trails and any others in-between. Then ended the day with a Round 5 win in the Trivia Night.
All caches were found in good condition unless otherwise stated.

Offered a spare seat on a roadtrip with The Rats and Wilbert67 to the Dayboro Mega, jumped at the chance to accept, and together with Steeba (who flew up), we joined forces to become “the Gong Gang” over the Easter weekend. Aside from the rain and threats of last minute border restrictions, it turned into 2500km of fun, finds and adventures. Thanks to the Gang for the invite, company and shared solves/searches and all the COs for the smiley opportunities. Apologies for the generic log (unless further comments required) but we got through a LOT!! ??
Signed today as MINIFIGA! as I teamed up with GLISS! Minniek, Fitzy_1965 and Albida33 to tackle some counties, trails, oldies and interesting caches. Great to be finally in Queensland with our eyes on the Mega Prize. It was a wet day today but we still managed to grab a lot of caches as we navigated the rain and puddles.
This is the first Mega we have had in Australia in over a year. We have navigated lockdowns, mouse plagues, floods and the dreaded Covid to get here. So wonderful to be able to be out caching in Queensland. Such a privilege. Thanks for the cache.

Found the cache, but not before finding a discarded sharps disposal container on the ground nearby. Cute little piggy! TFTC.

This is my 18th find at the Dayboro Mega Event. We stopped by the roadside a short way out of Dayboro. A little stroll in the bush towards a likely area. A nice surprise to see a little pig hiding out in nature. Thanks for a clever hide ??
Hitting up the trails around Dayboro today. All caches were quickly found unless otherwise indicated. Caching in a group and signed as MiNiFiGA! TFTC
Day 2. Another great day full of excitement, laughter and a variety of challenges . Thanks to the organising committee , all the COs and my merry band of friends who all contributed towards making this my most successful caching day ever. All the caches that were attempted were found with the exception of one very challenging cache which we must have overlooked despite numerous pairs of eyes searching for it. Logs were signed and replaced.
Picking up some caches in the rain today! Fortunately we were able to park the car within a couple of metres of the cache. Ah cute little piggie. TFTC
