Out and about on a bike ride while staying at friends nearby. Rode a few kms past Goldsborough to locate a few caches. Mostly QEFs with almost no traffic. TFTC
AyDelay gave me a fright with the centipede staying at the campground whilst doing the west coast wilderness trail. TFTC!
This was the day to turn frowns upside down. Pleased to report that I found 100% of the caches along this road that I DNF a couple of months ago.
Greetings from the Czech Republic and Thanks For This Cache.

Most coming weekends are already booked up so we were out on this miserable wet Saturday afternoon doing a check on this series. Only 2 of the bugs were actually missing so not as bad as we had presumed with the recent DNFs. All good here after abit of a wipe down - gotta love waterproof paper. Happy Caching
A fun day exploring the area. I have not been here but will definitely be back. Almost forgot to log this cache! TFTC
Have been up this valley a few times for work related reasons - lots of gold mining operations. Nice to collect a few smileys this time. TFTC
We were out for the day on a maintenance run out passed Hokitika and now its time to check some bugs on the way home. This one was missing and has now been replaced. All good here. Happy Caching
Thanks for putting out this cache for woolwood9 and I to find!
SL **tm/ww NZ** (may just be a black smudge on the many wet or plastic logs)
*We soon had another good cache located!*
Another good themed container.

Nice to be away on another geocaching trip with tmann421, travelling to a few places in the upper South Island.

On the West Coast with Nosynel and Ethness. Signing logs as JEN. Thanks for the hide.
I have camped very close to this. After finding Under the Goal Posts and eating a delicious lunch at The Blackball Inn we continued geocaching. We stayed the night Greymouth. Look out my friend Ethness is in town. We have started our road trip with Jude-E. Tripple Trouble. Thanks gracie7 + Mum for placing this geocache it is find 8211 for me.
Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. Thanks for hiding this geocache.

The second day of our road road trip and we are having lots of laughs, hunting hard and signing logs. Signed JEN as I am caching with Nosynel and Jude_E. TFTC and apologies for the generic log.

Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

Going on a bit of an insect hunt! Not much traffic long the road on a lovely afternoon! TFTC!!
Our GPS had us across the road initially, but as it came right, we looked across the road to see the obvious location. Another critter and another favourite. TFTC
I found this little guy hanging out at the Helvetia Hotel. He seemed to be enjoying himself . TFTC .
Decided to come and score some caches along this road on the way to Arthur’s Pass this morning. A quick and easy find here. Signed log, TFTC.
Great little cache in one of our favourite historic gold mining spots.
On a west coast road trip with the kids and niece hkbrom94 (over from England ) showing her the best of what nz has to offer .

Well the triped to the coast started out great, right untill the Flat Tyre, and the wheel nuts that had been tightrn with a rattle gun, that we could not undo, but one call out new trye and 4 hours and $388 we were on our way again, stll manged to get 50 odd caches for the day, many thanks to all the cache placers - Bitsprayer
A nice quick find here which got me wondering about the hotel with a seemingly flash name. So I looked it up when I got home and found several photos showing quite a typical style for its day. What was surprising was one photo of what looks like the same sign - all new and in a clearing with a bit of a shack/hut in the background. If that sign is the same and in the same place then things have changed a lot. Very interesting spot thanks gracie7 + Mum. TFTC #13,053
Maintenance run on all of the critters today. The Centipede was abit grubby so he got abit clean otherwise All is good here. Happy Caching
A nice and quick find. Cheers.
Time to head home, and surprisingly, another dry and sunny day on the coast. It did rain a bit in the night though.
Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches. Cheers.

Time to start to deal with these creepy crawly caches that have sprung up along the back roads around here. All were Q E F s and replaced as found, some new bugs I'd not seen before - the caterpillar was a stand-out fave. T F T C
The last part of the day involved mopping up a few solved puzzles and heading to Hokitika via Kumara (my least fave vegetable!)
Day 2 of the trip and with daylight saving starting/ending yesterday I found myself up nice and early and in McDs having breakfast at around 0615. The bike had been loaded into the car for the cycle along the beach to grab the Survivor series remainder (though one DNF would prevent a clean sweep!). It took around 1 hour 40 minutes from #3 (DNF last time) to the end of the line #33, and only 30 minutes cycling on the way back, quite a few caches found on this trip and nearly all were puzzles too. After that was done it was drop the bike in the apartment and head along from Cobden to Point Elizabeth all the way to Rapahoe beach end, then all the way back to the car and finally off to Hokitika, along the back roads, before the rain came down too heavily. As it was the rain got heavier and heavier and caching was stopped for the evening at around 1800, stuck on just over 90 finds. A great days caching and apologies in advance for the cut n paste logs, will comment specifically where I remember any variation.
Easter weekend 2018 is here and I have a cunning plan. Well, a caching plan, but what's the difference? With mrs and daughter working over the weekend and me with a few days off work there was a chance to convert some of my solved puzzles over on the West Coast into smiley faces. And add to my West Coast caching total. And do the Point Elizabeth walk, and several other appealing strolls. And some other stuff and all the way along gaining extra points for the planetary Challenge thingy to gain some electronic 2D Geo-souvenirs. And so, setting off around 0730 on Easter Sunday with the trusty mountain bike aboard (for the Greymouth beach-side track) I clocked up just under 1000 kms by road, a few extra on 2 wheels and several more on 2 feet, quite the trip. The threatened rain only arrived on the second afternoon in Hokitika (by which time I'd done my walks for the day) and the drive back from Greymouth via Westport was in blazing Autumn sunshine - Beautiful. Fantastic scenery all around and a large number of caches from b&w and gracie7&mum helped the total to just over 180 finds.
An awesome few days which my family wouldn't have enjoyed, but conversely actually would have, for the most part. An FTF in Reefton on the way through on Day 1 was another bonus, and monkey off the back for the monthly streak. A few DNFs which is to be expected with that many looked for, but a lot of good sights and experiences too. Thanks to all the COs for their placements.

Yesterday I moved my caravan a bit further south to stay with an old work colleague in Awatuna. So this morning I will continue with the caches along Stafford Loop Rd and onto Kumara.
Cheers for the cache.

Split the team - and the first person back was going to read all the information. Turned out that this cache was much closer, TFTC
#14901. Another quick find (must have been fun assembling all of these caches). TFTC.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on day 3 of a long weekend visit to Greymouth.
We took the scenic route from Greymouth back to Christchurch, via Stafford Loop Rd.
Eeek! A realistic looking centipede. Quick find, thanks.

Its Monday, with The Seagnoid , Toby and Zara, on our last day of our caching expidition to the West Coast. The Critter Series awaits with the bug net at the ready.
This centipede, netted and tagged and released. Cheers

Back onto the insects after a short sojourn into mamalia. Although I am not sure a centipede counts as a insect. None the less, it does count as a cache .
We don't always have enough time to venture much beyond Greymouth when visiting family but today was a dedicated Hoki-Day We have ventured up this road before but not as far and with such good reason. The CO always seems to manage finding interesting subject matter for a series. Well done. Thank you gracie7 + Mum
When this series was published I thought it would be ideal for my keen geocaching grandson to join us but he is currently enjoying a holiday elsewhere so it was just us oldies who enjoyed the trail.
Another quick find and sign, ideal for anyone to whom the numbers are important.
Thank you gracie7 + Mum.

Hitting Greymouth for a days whistle-stop caching adventure. Forecast rain threatened but it ended up being a hot sunny day! Had the bicycle jammed in the back to ride parts of the trail.
A fun caching day in Greymouth; Survivors rescued, Pt Elizabeth walked, and a few random caches in between. After being hot and sunny it had now clouded back over and started spotting rain & looking very threatening. 4pm & I wanted to hit the road east by 5pm (to get home to CHCH by 8pm) so I had an hour to burn...so I figured I'd start heading East via this new series of insects (B&W had signed these the day before).
Cool spot this....love it. Managed to just stay out of view of the nearby campers up the road a bit...Cheers.

{FTF} at 18.00.
Driving back from Nelson to Chch, I specifically came "via" Stafford Loop Road to find the rest of the Bugs.
I had started the series 2 weeks ago but the serious rain had deterred me from finding them all.
I have fond memories of camping at Goldsborough one Easter (some decades ago, now !) - and our peace being altered by the Westland CAr Rally coming along these roads.
Thanks for this series, gracie7 + Mum, and for all of your caches both on the West Coast & in Canterbury - your efforts are so much appreciated.
