Pretty sure this is no longer there. The lovely owner of the chooks knew about the cache and climbed the fence herself to look for it, but it wasn’t where she had found it before. Given that GZ is now behind a fence and that it is probably gone, I think it might be time to archive.
Thanks to the farmer, we had a great time here though, even feeding some friendly sheep and a deer!

Found in a surprising location so checked the hint and have replaced there which also matched coords. CO might want to check though. Log wet as container broken. Very cute chickens!! Tftc

The fuzzy chooks that live here are so cute! There's a new fence blocking the area where I think this cache is placed. We didn't want to jump it so this one is DNF but it's a great area and the people who live here have some really cute puppies.

Very nice find on an enjoyable walk with woolwood9.
Good weather although windy in areas but we had a nice time doing quite a few of the caches in the Belmont Regional Park.
Nice quick find for us here.

Lonely cache but unfortunately log too wet to sign

Loved the work put into this emplacement, with a few very friendly fluffy Bok Boks there to talk to
Log to wet to sign, picture posted on tmann421s log

A quick find after our walk. TFTC

Second last find of the circuit and the start of the gentle descent back to the car. The muggles I'd seen earlier were just up the road at the sign so I had to make this a quick find.

I have noticed my map of unfound caches now has a lot in this area of the world so I decided to head here today. My original plan was to maybe find half a dozen but other commitments took up more time than I wanted so this is as far as I got. Having been in another region last weekend, I thought I would not have this cache on my GPSr (I found out later that I did!). So, my phone became my caching device - which was fine until I got near ground zero where I discovered I had no signal to check the hint. Despite being clueless, I guessed right and soon had the container in my hand. There was a small moment of alarm when I thought I may have the same problem as at my previous stop but that was not the case and I was soon signing the logsheet.

Quick find while walking back to the car. Log a bit damp, could do with some TLC at some stage. Sorry had emptied the pack out last night so didn't have any cache repair materials with me, i.e. a zip lock bag to protect log.

A nice easy find.

A bit wet inside here but container partially dried out Perhaps the clay lined depression in which the cache is sitting needs a bit of reshaping to stop rain ponding? TFTC

#9858. Went for another walk in the Belmont hills in Lower Hutt. An interesting location. It appeared that this used to be at the border between Lower Hutt and Wellington, but boundary changes mean that it is now well within Lower Hutt now. Noted the chickens here from previous trips. They certainly blended well with the environment! GZ was all quiet when we visited. Quick find. The cache was in good condition. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Thanks for the placement and for bringing us to this site, and …

With things pretty quiet at work I took a half day and did the loop stating and finishing in Hill Rd. Even with the weather packing up a bit as the afternoon wore on it was a most enjoyable walk. Cheers and TFTC

A quick find while heading back down the road. I didn't venture to go have a look at the chickens as I was concentrating more on finishing up for the day due to sore feet. TFTC

#5174. Decided I needed some exercise today after being too sedentary of late and indulging in too many Christmas treats. So came up to Belmont Park to pick up a selection of caches. I waited until the wind eased but was still warm out in the sun. Bit of a slog up the hill. Nice to see the chooks enjoying this building and the outdoor spaces. A quick find with accurate coordinates. Signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Thanks jefraser for the cache.

Was in the area trying to find a cache for the day and after a DNF on GC7FWT9 - Munitions Lab (Lower Hutt), I decided that I would make my way up to the next closest cache which happened to be this cache.

As I neared GZ I soon spotted the cache site not too far away and saw a few Gallus gallus domesticusRazz[:X], in the distance having a go at very large Archaic Homo sapiensWink who seem to be causing them a real racketRed FaceTwisted.

As I neared GZ I soon recognised who it was a Mr-Mcgoo, he was trying awfully hard to communicate with them, maybe he was wanting an egg for a afternoon tea[:o)]Red FaceSurprised.

Arriving at GZ, I noticed that he had the cache in his hand so I got him to sign it for me as well, since I really didnt want to get any eggs on my face.

What a great spot for a cache, really enjoyed the walk, to GZ, now it is time to make my way back down the path to the car. Thanks for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (12851)

Thanks to the Cache Owner who has gone to the trouble of creating this cache, determining the coordinates and then averaging them to make sure they are accurate, placing the cache and registering it online for our enjoyment. Without Cache Owners doing their bit, there wouldn’t be a fun hobby that we all love - so again a big THANK YOU. For our bit, all we need to do is find and log the cache that was carefully placed for our personal enjoyment. As we log it we should consider that the Cache Owner also needs to maintain it - when the log sheet fills up, they must replace it. When the container becomes full of water, they need to empty it. When the container is broken, they need to repair it. When it goes missing they need to find or replace it. Well..... the great news is we can do our bit too - make sure your log doesn’t take an entire page - just a name and date. If full of water, empty and dry the cache as best as possible. Be careful when handling the cache and make sure you replace it where you found it. If it has a bag, seal it. Just remember - the Cache Owner showed respect to you by placing the cache - please respect them and fellow cachers that follow you by being careful with the cache. And if you have a spare log sheet and the cache you are at needs one, please leave it behind. Finally, if the cache does need maintenance, please let the Cache Owner know - you can log a Maintenance Log or you can drop a line to the Cache Owner. Above all - have fun and remember the Geocaching Code. .

A perfect morning for a bike ride up from the carpark at the top of Hill Road - calm and mild, and overcast so not too much heat in the sun. This was the first of four, found in less than a minute. I have passed this spot many times in the past and been amused at the poultry running around, however not much sign of them today. Signed log, TFTC

Got home from a 3 hour mountain bike ride in the hills of Karori at around 2.30 pm to see 4 potential FTF opportunities. These don't usually hang around for long so decided to ignore the sore legs and give it a go. Got to GZ and found the cache quickly but it seemed to be upside down which suggested I may not have been the first to visit and so it proved true when the elusive "FTF" spot was already filled out by "Island Bay" for a well deserved FTF. A local spider seems to have taken up residence under the container - very cute. Ah well on to the next one to see if they have all been snaffled ......

By a complete stroke of luck I almost came up this track last weekend before this was pubished but decided to do it this weekend instead. Most conveniently some new caches just appeared making this loop even more worth while. I hope this container is more watertight than it looks but being an accidental early bird to this one it's all in excellent condition. TFTC.

{FTF} Yes - my first FTF!!!
I checked the website early this afternoon while having a coffee, and there were 4 new caches in Belmont Park with no FTFs on them. I thought that as it was Saturday afternoon I'd be too late, but figured and go and give it a try. Saw a car in the car park and thought "great, that will be Huhugrub or one of the other regular FTFers..."
Got to the GZ and to my pleasant surprise discovered I was the FTF Smile gets a FP for being my first FTF.
