Unfortunately gone missing. I'm happy to have a replacement added or will get back to it later in the year
We did everything but hop down to the bottom as we couldn't guarantee our return trip up above..
We were docked in Akaroa New Zealand for the day on our ship - Holland America's Volendam. We started by going to the lighthouse for a cache and then headed up into the hills into the Garden of Tane. What a beautiful place and trails! We then kept going up and did other caches in a few cemeteries and at two monuments. We then went back down and did a few caches and a LAB in Town. We wound up with 9 caches on the day in our 9-mile hike/walk combo.Thank you to GH6710 for 4 of our caches and to the other 5 COs for their efforts and for the other 5 caches.Thank you also to the Lab creator for that Adventure.#####################This Cache: Quick Find, after Marbles got down onto his stomach and reached down.
Checken Tree, bench, dock etc. Local told us it has been removed. Greetings from Holland
Sat on the concrete in a couple of places and spied it standing up. here in Akaroa for a few days while over here visiting family. (Geelong)Thanks for the cache GH6710
Fin de la balade, on fait la cache avant d'aller boire une bire et profiter de la vue. Mplc ! Tftc !
After a lovely drive across the mountain and visiting the penguin preserve, we returned to town. While my wife sat on a nearby bench to phone her mom back home in Tennessee, I logged this cache. This is a clever hide. I noticed that a previous finder reported it as being on the ground and unreachable, but I found it attached just where it should be. TFTC
Well, this one took me a few minutes and a little study. I like the placement. Easy to grab as it wasn't busy today. SL TNLN TFTC!
Made to Akaroa in this beautiful day. After enjoying some fish and chips we spotted this was close by. Awesome cache. Thanks .
Just finished dinner and walking off the big meal we realised this was right beside us. Had to grab it, nicely placed, and magnificent views on a lovely sunny evening. Tftc
I very much love getting to visit the South Island. Until recently it wasn't something I got to do very often, but in the last year I've managed a series of mini-trips for geocaching, and here we are at the start of 2024 with another one. Just like my first SI trip in 2023, I've come to Christchurch to target a few specific caches to help with my Jasmer Grid, and qualification for a few challenges I'm currently working on.Having arrived an picked up my rental car, I wanted to head over to Akaroa, a place I've only ever visited once before on my first trip to NZ back in '88. It was winter back then, and left an impression in me of being stunningly beautiful. What would it be like in Summer? The answer to that is simply "more stunning". From the moment you crest a hill to see the harbour laid out in front of you, to strolling around the charming townships themselves, I'm so glad I came here today. That feeling is helped with also managing to eliminate 1 of my last 3 remaining NZ Jasmer Grid dates. So having done that, I came back into the township of Akaroa to have a wander around, grab some lunch, and a few casual caches such as this one. With such great weather, the place was heaving with people. I was lucky to get a car park nearby and wander over to this one. There were muggles sitting on the seat itself so I sat on the edge of the footpath with my legs dangling so I could surreptitiously search for the cache. I soon spotted it but had to wait for the muggles to leave to retrieve it. No issues to report here, so I soon added my name to the pristine logsheet and replaced it all as found. Thanks for setting this one up.

Just visited the gardens, Quick find after ignoring hint. Hint is very off putting
If your wondering why where here we Flew down from palmy for Christmas and swapped houses with a friend. Don’t have many caches left to find at home base so we’ll try to log as many as we can.
I wrote in the log and concealed the cache carefully back as found, TFTCSL, Thanks GH6710 for this Traditional cache!

This one proved to be quite difficult as there was a worker sitting on the kayaks, so that made it harder to have a good look. The hint was somewhat confusing and although it does make sense once you find the cache, it can be misleading. It was 4Clubs who made the find - she looked. straight down and there it was. It is a great hide and fits in well with the surroundings. Worthy of a favourite point for sure. TFTC
Christmas Day visit to Akaroa and thought to grab a few caches. Great to sit and enjoy an ice cream. The log roll is full.
Great little spot! On a wee geocaching/ birthday trip, found this sweet spot. Found without the all amazing Winston, but forgot pen. Tftc!!
Thanks for the find on this one. We were in Akaroa the other day to swim with the dolphins. However due to Sea conditions we found our trip cancelled. Hung out in town and checked out the war memorial, the lighthouse, and the giants house. Fun times.
On our last day in New Zealand we made a trip to Akarua. We found it quickly. Greetings from Germany tftc
