A nice quiet country road today, perfect for grabbing a few caches out this way, TFTC
After a fun but wet weekend for the GeoToroa Mega event held over Labour Weekend, we set off on a mini road-trip to Invercargill. There were many caches to collect so we set off early. Thanks to all the CO's who placed caches along the route we took, which was not the direct route of course. TFTC.
After a fun weekend at the Dunedin Mega we're driving to Invercargill today for a few days geocaching down there. I need some Southland finds for a challenge and I'd solved a lot of puzzles down here that are long over due for collection. I'm also working towards a 200 and a 300 South Island minute challenge. We had a full days geocaching planned for the way down but yet again I found another bunch of easily solved puzzle caches. My buddy kindly adjusted our plans and we had a lovely scenic drive down the coastal route. We had a couple of solved puzzles down this road so we grabbed the caches from the series as we went. Quickly answered too. Glad this wasn't a H for wetas. A good pull over area and another quick find. Thanks for this series of easy finds and fun questions
Picking up a few more 'Bob's please' along this road and also checking caches for the CO who is quite indisposed ATM, the last thing on her mind iwould be cache maintenance inner container full of water, dried out and dried the RITR slip and placed in bag. cache all good now tftc Nat
This is another of those places that I am sure I've been to on caching business before but always happy to return for another smiley. Could hear the dogs still barking from the last cache although didn't feel quite so conspicuous here. Thanks for a nice quick find.
Quick easy find on a short trip on a sunny day to have a bit of time to myself out of the house. Taking me to more unexplored places in my local area- tftc.
Inner cache container with log was full of water, bit weird as outer one was fine, dried it out as best I could before replacing.

When I got up today and realised it was International Geocaching Day, I thought I better get amongst it, Gabby59 are you keen? Yes she was, but first we had to get some jobs done. Rendezvous at 4.30pm and cached till the sun went down.
TFTC, wee bit damp, but signable

Out with Mr Cat and co helping with the International geocaching day, hopefully world record finds. We are working on even a few will help as we didn’t start till 5pm. Days are definitely drawing out. Tftc
Day two of my road trip through Southland. Today's journey takes me from Invercargill back to Mosgiel. My rather indirect route goes by way of Riverton on to Tuatapere then through Winton, Mataura and Balclutha. With a final detour up to Middlemarch. Old School Challenge caches are the focus of the trip, but there's a few others to look for along the way as well.
I enjoyed doing this series. It certainly helped to give the days total a boost. TFTC

Luxurious parking here. I got stuck inside with Covid a few weeks ago. So I am having a we road trip with Lytteltonwitch in Southland for four days ️️Thanks for hiding this cache Natalie247 I appreciate it.
Heading down to my second home (it's not, but I've been down to Invercargill so much for work, it might as well be!) and not doing any testing on the trip down, meant I could detour slightly and grab the nearby puzzle. Thought it would be rude not to find this too!
TFTC Natalie247, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 1 find(s) of 2 today, making this find #3251

An empty ute parked nearby, so gave it a wide berth. A nice quick find thanks. I completed all of the series today, 25 please Bob caches. (where is I? Hmmm looking back I found it in 2019!!)
Ms_KR and I are on a wee South Island break. A day spent collecting smileys around and about Balclutha. It rained a wee bit about lunchtime, but it was a glorious day for caching!
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

After shifting my snail shell to Balclutha, where I have never stayed before in my six years of travelling the country, it is only today that I have managed to get some caching done. To make up for the lack of signed caches I decided to do this series to the South of this burg to get my numbers up. Also it is the start of a new Climb The Peak mountain.
This is another in the series.
I replaced the sodden log with some waterproof paper.
Cheers for the cache.

It is strongly recommend that whilst we go for a walk for exercise, we need to take care on shared surfaces and geocaching should not be done at this time; https://wiki.groundspeak.com/display/GEO/New+Zealand
To remove temptation, I am disabling this cache and ask kindly that you do not find this cache during lockdown.
Remember there is more than physically finding a cache, there are plenty of puzzle caches you can do at home. Or if you live near a multi you can walk the trail and save the find for another day. For more info or connect with wider community see Geocaching New Zealand on Facebook.

#19048. Good to find a cache near a country hall (to add to our haul). TFTC.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ as we slowly make our way north from Invercargill. We encountered a bit of rain in Gore, but luckily it cleared up and we were able to carry on caching .
We like hall caches as the parking is usually great, though often they are hidden in such a way that looking for them in damp conditions are not pleasant. Luckily this was hidden differently . TFTC.

Help1 Got muggled here by local farmer. He new about caching but not this one here. Alls good and now tagged. Cheers.
Friday 13. Balcultha to Gore and back. Another long day with Gore on the agenda. But got sidetracked with back to basics with the ABC series. So lets hit the road!
Toby, Zara and I are on a 3 week geo adventure of Cromwell, Southland, Catlins, Balclutha with a day in Dunedin and quick stop in Timaru. With Lenny, my trusty navigator and TBD my companion/mascot. we managed to visit lots of green boxes, now happy faces with the odd sad one. Did some LABs , earth caches, virtuals and wherigos, all chucked into the mix to rack up 500 odd caches. Lots of kilometers, lots of exploring and lots of fun. Thanks to all COs for our wonderful experience.

Day Two Of Our Journey to South Island With Squirrel Nutcase
The huge rain falls that had arrived a couple of days ago have now passed. Amazed as to how quickly the area has dried out.
On one DNF today due to the cache been washed away by the high river levels.
Another good day, thanks to cache placements and successfully arrived in Dunedin tonight.
Thanks to all the Cache Owners for these placements.

With Fap and Gap... Late last year, we started to plan for a trip to the South Island - The goal was to complete the TMGT trail.
Invercargill - Dunedin: Gap had some solved puzzles in the area, and we were suckered into driving this big loop road by the volume of caches along it... A quick find with a specific hint and good coordinates. Thanks Natalie247 and TFTC.

Tracking down the last pieces of the Mystery at the Musuem puzzle, hoping to be able to crack the case.
Found with Downsouthinv, Abbykitt, sunny900 and loveheart900.

Headed down south a beautiful still autumn afternoon south which was new territory for me with CO to help with her maintenance run while convalescing in the car. Great way to find caches and check they are all okay. TFTC Natalie247
Stock truck pulled out of drive nearby just as was trying to work out exactly where (from a little way away fortunately). TFTC
I decided to tackle this series today - having decided a couple of weeks ago I was rather annoyed when I suffered an accident yesterday which hampered my efforts a little. Nevertheless, I managed all twenty-six today!
Gotsta love country towns. Brings me back to my days living in country Victoria. A good little throwback as I picked up the cache too - thanks for handing me back the memories Natalie. Cheers!

A quick park and grab while out about grabbing a few caches down this way. A nice and easy find and on to the next one. TFTC
Thanks another cache in the series. Not much traffic on this road and easy places to park. Even managing to do it on my own but I think it would be easier with two people. Had to go to Gore today a Friday so no one available to come with me.
On a road trip, chauffeured by Saethwr as she gets some more driving experience. This is a good run to get further on my quest to find the world turtle.
Log dry, but dried out both containers.
Lonely little hall - hope it gets used by the community.
Thanks for the smilie Natalie247.

Having a day out and picnic in the clutha area. Enjoying the winter sunshine. Again going to places never visited before. Thanks to all cache owners.
Mum and I had lunch in Balclutha and afterwards she hit the secondhand shops while I did a bit of caching. No need for technology to find this one, it's easy enough with the hint. Thanks
Dakotacats and I decided to make a full day of caching in the area and one of our main targets was this A - Z series. We found all caches in this series and enjoyed the different roads and scenery along the way. TFTC
4Clubs and I spent an enjoyable day caching in the area. We found all 26 of the Blockbuster series, and we travelled on roads we have never travelled on before. Thanks for putting this series out Natalie, we had fun.
TFTC Natalie - enjoyed this series of caches and tripping down some previously untraveled roads

Down South for a geocaching day trip with the main intention being A - Z please Bob. Started this series with A but then all order was lost! A fun series which was very much enjoyed. TFTC Natalie247 and the time and effort for this series which many of us feature in
Haven't been on a caching "dawn raid" for ages! Set off before sun-up to clean up the Blockbuster A-Z series. Early on Easter Monday proved an excellent time to do so as, away from SH1, there was just nobody around. On way home the traffic was heavy heading south out of Dunedin. Apparently some second-rate musician had done a few concerts over the weekend in town, which generated a few visitors. All 26 A-Z caches found, plus another at Kaihiku Falls. All the side-roads were pretty much new to me so that was a bonus. Apologies to the CO for the generic cut and paste logs for most of the series but when you're "speed-caching" the whole thing becomes a bit of a blur. Thoroughly enjoyable outing. TFTC.
Coming home from being on business. Thought be a great chance to get these new caches, TFTC.
Holidaying in the South Island. Finally at a location with time to stop and log some that didn't get logged on route. What beautiful countryside. Loved every minute of it. The views from many of these caches are amazing. We got lucky with the weather and to date have stayed dry enough to tackle the chosen caches on route. Many thanks to the owners of these caches for placing them and giving us incredible places to stop. I can't remember each and all so have to do a generic paste for these ones found and signed but not logged on route.
H is for the hall that has seen better days. It is a shame about all these halls up and down the country that were such a vibrant hub and so well used in the past. TFTC # 11,924
There was someone parked up at the hall when I arrived but she was engrossed in some hand held device and the cache was to her back so I had no problems here.
Great day out caching in the area, lot of neat caches, and interesting spots. many thanks the cache - Bitsprayer
Another stop, another satisfying find, really enjoying being passenger and taking in the countryside.

After a very hot day caching we decided to camp up for the night at this quiet county hall. Cache all good. TFTC
A quick easy find as we trundled our way through this slightly different series. TFTC
Found it with the Chosens and Tuitigger and Searchwisely on our blockbuster tour. Thanks Nat for the series.
We made a mental note to speed up while looking for this cache, we didn't want to meet our jogging tailgater who we'd already seen twice. Lucky we were looking gone before she came round the bend.
Have never been here before, enjoying these back roads. Apparently a bit of confusion, was it the third or fourth tree? Easily found though.
