We thought we were onto it when we found a hole with a pine cone in it but when we looked all we found was a giant slug!
Spent a couple of hours taking the walkways between Tirohanga Road and Hill Road with a stop in this reserve for morning coffee. We spent some time looking for this cache and finally had to admit defeat. Frustrating but all part of a really nice walk. TFTC

I agree with the owner's description of this location being a hidden gem. Parts of the walkway were also muddy but not nearly as bad as where I had just come from. As others have reported, the coordinates are not accurate so I took a moment to check to see what my GPSr was showing to see if there was evidence of a transposition of digits. However, I think it may have simply been a typo error as I suggest replacing 125 with 135 will do the trick. With the container being very visible from a distance, I was undecided whether I should leave things how I found them or make a bit of an effort to cover the cache. With the coordinates being out, I didn't think it would be right to conceal the cache to I opted for a bit of a compromise by partially covering the cache with leaves so that it isn't quite so obvious.
(# 5224). Out this morning to grab a handful of caches for the Mystery At The Museum challenge. A quick find after walking on a very damp and sometimes muddy track. Everything in order. TFTC
TFTC and the topaz towards my mystery at the museum. Helpful hint here where gps was closest on the track once down a few steps.
Coords way out but found using the hint. Cute container and lovely walk before the sunlight disappeared. TFTC.
The coordinates are well out however we went to the closest place on the track and the hiding place is obvious. We we hoping to drop off a geocoin but could not get it to fit. Neat container though.
Very nice area and short walk, My GPS still showed some way to go when woolwood9 spotted the hide.

Like others the gps wouldn't settle. I went down, ge of gely57 went up and ly of gely57 casually walked to the hinted object and found the cute container. TFTC.
Just a short stroll, and it was only A Little Bit Hard to get the kids off screens. But we got there eventually.
#5914. Today dawned fine and sunny but no sign of the eclipsed moon when I got out of bed. I have been thinking for some time of doing a big walk from Haywards Road to Melling via Belmont Regional Park, Speedys Reserve and down through Belmont to the Hutt River trail. Decided today would be the day in case the park shuts for the lambing season. My wife agreed to drop me off at Belmont Road. After heading uphill and through Belmont Regional Park picking up various caches I left the park near the pylons tracks and headed into Speedys. After a false lead on a nice open track to the lower pylon, I reached a dead end. I climbed back up to the spur again and saw a marker pole pointing into bush. Well there is a track in there but its very overgrown and has one of the worst climbing asparagus infestations I have seen. Scrambled my way along until I reached "Speedys above and beyond" cache. The track from there to the stream was straightforward. A slow climb out from the stream to the road and I was on my way to this cache. Spotted the hiding place immediately. Signed the log and replaced the cache exactly as found. Thanks for the cache jefraser. Can't imagine too many people have walked from Haywards/Belmont Road to visit this reserve.
Having just waked up Speedy's Reserve we decided to walk down Hill Road rather than risk gravity and mud by walking back down. This was a slight detour on the way down. About 20 metres from GZ I remarked that it was a shame the cache was not in a perfect caching spot I could see. The distance to GZ then started strangely increasing ...... obviously the GPS was not quite keeping up under the trees. A slight backtrack took us the ideal spot and the cache was quickly found. Gets a FP from us for a great hiding spot and not the usual container type.
Having found the the sibling cache for this a while ago I suspected I might be looking for something like this. Although I had no idea how it would be hidden though. The GPS has not really settled and was still trying to point me somewhere I didn't want to go so I cut things short by using the hint which made things pretty quick. Although the cache was well hidden when I found it, it didn't want to re-hide the same way so it took me as long to re-hide it as it did to find it! A great cache on another walkway I would not normally have had any reason to explore. TFTC.
Thought we'd go and grab this and then carry on up to the play area. Missed it initially as the GPS was going on strike, but soon had it in hand. Cool container, tftc!
I've had occasion to visit this park area previously. So it was a joy to be here on a beautifully still and sunny Good Friday morning. After a short walk in the glint of the cache container's colour gave the hide away from a distance, so a straightforward find ensued once I had positioned myself in the right way.
Cache in order; log signed, then cache safely re-hidden, just as found.
I visited this cache with team cacher zboy wonder.

Coordinates were a bit off on this, I’ll put that down to the tree cover. Was here early morning, so the light was shining on the cache site and it was like a big red eye staring at me... TFTC
Cache # 4,205 - A quick find on a short stroll with CelloJoss before work. Great spot and nice hide. TNLNSL. TFTC!

I came up here on a quick mission after dinner. We had a big day with 2 of our kids doing the Kiwi Kids Tryathlon at Hutt Recreation Ground this morning followed by a series of meetings in the afternoon.
I just needed some fresh air and to find one cache for today.
I hoped this one would be nice and easy. And so it proved to be!
The cache is in good condition. All nice and dry.
Thank you

Good cache, an easy find as it was quite visible. Covered it up before I left. TFTC
Was in the Hutt for work and decided that I would check my GPS and see what caches that I had in the area that I could go and look for today. Didnt have too much time to go too far so decided that I would go for a cache that wouldn't take me too far off the beaten track.
After checking my GPS I decided that I would settle on this cache, worked out where I needed to park and decided to park on Hill Road, having being on this track a few times before, so I knew my way towards GZ, managed to find a parking spot not too far away from the given parking spot, and from there it was a very easy walk towards GZ.
The walk towards GZ didnt take too long and as I was in my work gear as I got near GZ I had to take it a but slower as the track wasnt the best for wearing work shoes, as I neared GZ, I soon spotted something in the distance and as I got closer I soon realised that this was the cache, managed to retrieve it without any issue, signed and replaced it back as found. Thanks for placing this cache here and for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this spot. TFTC TNLNSL (13019).

#9855. Second to find. Went for a short walk in Park Hill Reserve in Belmont. GZ was all quiet when we visited. Relatively quick find, even though the GPS was still reading 23 metres away. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

A quick park and grab after work. Well almost a park and grab - I was away from my car for just on 5 minutes.
Quick find where all good at GZ. I saw the hint object from a few meters away - thanks for the placement and making it a quickie.
A nice wee walkway - I wonder how long until I am caused to explore further....
Thanks for another smilie and my cache of the day.

Thanks to the Cache Owner who has gone to the trouble of creating this cache, determining the coordinates and then averaging them to make sure they are accurate, placing the cache and registering it online for our enjoyment. Without Cache Owners doing their bit, there wouldn’t be a fun hobby that we all love - so again a big THANK YOU. For our bit, all we need to do is find and log the cache that was carefully placed for our personal enjoyment. As we log it we should consider that the Cache Owner also needs to maintain it - when the log sheet fills up, they must replace it. When the container becomes full of water, they need to empty it. When the container is broken, they need to repair it. When it goes missing they need to find or replace it. Well..... the great news is we can do our bit too - make sure your log doesn’t take an entire page - just a name and date. If full of water, empty and dry the cache as best as possible. Be careful when handling the cache and make sure you replace it where you found it. If it has a bag, seal it. Just remember - the Cache Owner showed respect to you by placing the cache - please respect them and fellow cachers that follow you by being careful with the cache. And if you have a spare log sheet and the cache you are at needs one, please leave it behind. Finally, if the cache does need maintenance, please let the Cache Owner know - you can log a Maintenance Log or you can drop a line to the Cache Owner. Above all - have fun and remember the Geocaching Code.

Stopped here this afternoon on the way up the hill to see if I could capture the only remaining (for me) stray Leprechaun. As I approached GZ I thought "this looks familiar!" and sure enough the cache is in the exact same position as the final of a multi-cache that was archived in January 2010. The listed coordinates were taking me about 12 metres off the track but the hiding place is a fairly prominent one and is close to the track, and the hint is good. Signed log, TFTC!

So I saw all the new cache notifications this morning - the Cache of Ice and Fire looks interesting, but I had nearer goals to attend to. Set off and parked on Hill Road. Made my way down the track and when the GPS read it's minimum I decided to try and find it using my GPS instead of looking for the hint. After a bit of bush bashing I found myself in an area just behind a couple of houses and after a bit of looking I couldn't turn up anything. After thinking about the cache name I thought I had an idea of what I was looking for, but even then couldn't get anywhere. I followed a roped track and made it back to the pathway so went back down, trying to look for a certain object along the way. Just when I got to where I originally left the track I spotted something matching the hint, and with a little climb I got my hands on a container I wasn't expecting, but still fits. Opened it up and was greeted with a blank log sheet Signed and replaced, then headed back to try for the other new cache across the valley. TFTC
