Had a good look around here, but plenty of pine needles on ground so not sure if I was looking in the right spot on the bank, maybe next time, onto the next
We are staying in a nearby caravan spot for a couple of nights. Plan was to explore a few of the cycle trails on this side of the city and link them up to make a 2hr ish circuit.Due to todays rain and looking pretty grey - its pretty quiet so I had no trouble with getting muggled along the way.A bit overgrown on one side of this trail but no worries with the other side.Great smooth path for me all the way back to kaiapoi - only problem is my phone battery is low so not completing the whole trail today.TFTC
I had the day off work and it was a beautiful winters day. I decided walking the Passchendaele path would make a nice day trip. It was easy enough to find the caches along here between the cyclists going past. I was very pleased that there were no DNFs today. Thanks
When we got to the cache location, we looked in the usual places. But the cache wasn’t there. So we went across the other side of the drain/stream and there it was. Under a rock. This cache shouldn’t of taken us this long because it was quite easy. TFTC.

Bought new boots this morning so on a 5km walk to test them out. All good with no blisters. Just got to walk 5km back now.
I need 24 caches to finish the challenge of 100 caches in April so today we are biking from Kaiapoi to Rangiora to see if we can finally achieve this. Oh dear we are both in the ditch again.
Cycling the track today to get our numbers up for Aprils Smiley Challenge. Saw the Elephant path referred to by a fellow cacher, and the barbed wire referred to by another. Thank goodness as the GPS and phone were all over the place.
Was looking for about 5 minutes, watch out for barbwire about shin to knee height when you are looking for the cache. TFTH
Had quite a look around here. Suspect the coords might be a bit off, as there's an elephant path leading to the railway track, where I also zeroed, but that doesn't seem to match the clue. Lots of foliage to look under...
Checked cache. Found it within 20cm of original placement. Added a few stones to hiding place.
We enjoyed a walk along another section of the Passchendaele Memorial Path today. With the helpful hint the cache was soon in hand. TFTC!
We were in NZ on a holiday hoping to spend a bunch of time geocaching; however, we ended up in ISO due to positive COVID tests! Once our mandatory isolation was over we were able to travel a bit and grab some caches on our trip. This cache was on the to do list for today. Cheers and TFTC.
G’day there BaldEd, we were in this area today and found your cache K2R- Passchendaele Memorial Path #17 (Canterbury) GC7J2BD. Our name was added to the log book at 10:53 am on 15 July 2022. A huge thanks to you for placing this cache here for us (and others) to find!
We took up Geocaching on 3 March 2013 and this cache brings our total find count to - 13621.

We both decided to take a small break from work and do some caching. Weather was not that great throughout the day, still it was fun. TFTC

This looked like a nice trail to ride , but probably shouldn't have done it on a sunny sunday as it was a constant stream of muggles coming from both directions. I spent more time pretending to be on my phone than actually riding the bike
Thanks for setting this great trail up

Out with Baird to climb everest, seems a good track to do it on, great day out! Tftc
Went for a bike this morning along this path way. Was pleased with 100% success as simple cache hides are normally my downfall!
There was a single walker in front of me. With me stopping every 200 or so meters to sign a cache I made the same time as her.

Running out of weather. Thunder and hail. No time for a decent search, esp considering last action was a DNF. Cheers
Found with NZDi. It is Waitangi Weekend and NZDi decides she wants to spend a few days in Christchurch to do some retail therapy. A couple of our grandchildren have birthdays coming up and she can't find anything suitable in the local stores in Blenheim and is hoping the big city has a better selection. The plan is to travel south on Friday caching along SH 1, do the shopping on Saturday morning and cache out at the McLeans Island MTB park in the afternoon, then head home on Sunday with a detour to cache the K2R- Passchendaele Memorial Path between Kaiapoi and Rangiora (I guess that is what K2R stands for). Throughout the weekend we dated and signed our logs in full, as KM + ND or a combination of both depending on the room available on the sheet/book.
Today is day three of the trip and we are on our way home after attending a disappointing Riccarton Market. I don't usually do full copy and paste logs when geocaching, but this time I am going to make an exception because all of the caches we found today were pretty much the same and when doing a power trail or similar cache run like this one cache runs into the next and it is really hard to write something special about each, (I know I said this yesterday when I did the McLeans Island MTB park, but I managed to write a few individual lines specific to each cache. However this is totally different as all these are by the same owner and are pretty much completely identical in what i have to say. I did send a 'Write Note' at the time when one cache had a full log.
The following applies to all the K2R caches found on this trail. Firstly it was a surprise to discover the trail is sealed all the way, we weren't expecting that, although it was intimated when you read it is 'smooth' on the cache description. Secondly, it was great to find a series af caches where all the coordinates and all the hints were accurate. Thirdly it was great to find all the caches well maintained. What this resulted in was the quickest 26 finds we have made by far. I took us 1 hour and 40 minutes (100 minutes) to find all caches on our mountain bikes. Then it took us 25 minutes to get back to the geomobile. Not once did I have to take my smart phone from its cradle on the handle bars of the bike to narrow down GZ. It is power trails like this that make it easy to see how some cacher can get hundreds if not over a thousand finds in a day

This was one of caches that was not an immediate find. In fact it took 2 of us to search and check the GPS with the phones before we decided where we should focus our search. When she raised her head, Mrs SoBad spotted something of interest and then the cache.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Thanks BaldEd for putting out this series of caches for woolwood9 and I to find!

#18359. As I approached GZ, I didn't like the look of the hint area. Luckily there was an opening at GZ and the cache was on reach. Whew! TFTC.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on a grey and cold afternoon as we head into Rangiora to visit whanau.

In a few hours the country will change to to Covid19 Alert Level 2 so the cache has been enabled in readiness. Stay safe. Use hand sanitizer.
Due to the government ordered Covid-19 lockdown, I am doing my bit to slow the spread. I will not be accepting any Found logs on any of my geocaches for the period of the Level 4 Alert.
Please do not embarrass yourself, your hobby and your country by thinking that geocaching is essential - it is not.
STAY HOME. STAY SAFE.

I set out on the bike this afternoon to pick up some or all of the small number of caches I hadn’t already located along this trail. It wasn’t a good start as I bombed out with the the first two I looked for! Interesting that in almost two years no other DNFs have been logged for this particular one! Anyway I spent several minutes searching for it without success before moving on. There were other caches to be found!
Heading north this afternoon with some time in hand and my bike in the back of the vehicle so I decided to see if I could clean up this new series which has been placed since I last cached in this area. Found this one after a short search, it was for me the most difficult of the series. Signed log, TFTC.
I've been wanting to do this trail for ages but for one reason or another it hasnt happened. Today I had a lovely day, nieces and nephew at school so no family commitments and I had left my bike here on the last trip so no excuses. Thanks BaldEd

This is day six of a ten day trip down to Dunedin and back to move my daughter there so she can get her master’s degree at Otago University. My ‘regular’ motel was booked, so I had to stay at a rundown dive with a tiny bed in a tiny room.
I am doing the series on foot, so I moved my car whenever I could to minimize walking. There were a few muggles, but not enough to slow down my progress. TFTC.

My monthly tally was looking pretty low for Feb so far, and so I was looking for a power trail and remembered this one in Rangiora. Warm weather. I got the bike out and found 13 caches. All of them in quick finds, logs in good condition. Sorry for the cut and paste log. Thanks for all of these caches Bald Ed.
.And another one bites the dust. Cheers
Its Thursday - day two - Rangiora - Lyttleton today. K2R cycle trail in our sights today. We drop of Toby in Southbrook and leave Zara at Kaiapoi to await our return. Its peddle power with Jill today along this great cycle track
Its Waitangi Day - day one of a five day weekend exploring the amazing Canterbury, with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby, Jack and Jill. Two days Rangiora, a day in Lyttleton and 2 days in Banks Peninsula. I got call from The Seagnoid, hes taking a long weekend. Lets go to the West Coast! Lets Go!! but maybe not the West Coast - rain on the way. So lets go to Canterbury. We leave for Christchurch Tuesday evening after picking up The Seagnoid after work. We make camp for the night at Amberly. Today its off to Rangiora for a cycle trip.

Down to Christchurch with Taybeedragon, Zara and Toby for a five day weekend starting Waitangi Day (which this year fell on a Wednesday. I reckon half the country would have been taking 5 day weekends!). Three days in Rangiora. We did two cycle trails there - having two vehicles makes it so easy. One of those cycle trails was fifty caches. Fifty caches in one day on a bicycle! Then a couple of days exploring the back roads around Akaroa. Darn close to two hundred caches in all. Dropped off a lot of path tags along the way, especially if the cache was nice and dry.

There's a good christmas tree standing out from the hedge near this one. Someone should have decorated it [:o)]
We spent good 9 hours out today, geocaching on bicycles and trying to burn all of those cakes and turkey eaten on Christmas day. From those, 3 hours on the Passchendaele Path picking up the geoseries. Probably the slowest 7.5km cycled ever.
But no, I don't think it would have been faster on foot.
The whole day's tracklog and stats are [here on Endomondo](https://www.endomondo.com/users/10209103/workouts/1245682128)
A total of 39 geocaches and 70km cycled.

Needed a few caches before going home. I walked part of the trail. Will do rest at a later date
In Christchurch for a few days so decided to cycle the pathway and grab a few caches. TFTC
My second bite at this trail. I noticed on Friday evening that this section was a shared pathway so did it with a helping hand from Mr Toyota. TFTC
7843. Iris was out to lunch with friends. The weather was terrible and predicted to get worse. There was only one possible thing for me to do - get out the bike and do a Bald Ed geocaching trail! I started in the middle and worked my way towards Rangiora, so this was number four for the afternoon, a very easy cache involving a bit of a stretch. Thanks. Rodney.
I left my car in Kaiapoi and walked to the outskirts of Rangiora and then back again. I was the only person walking as everyone else were on bikes plus there was one person on rollerblades. I walked 17km so I was rather tired when I got home. This cache was a quick find.
Out with Monson.clan for a fun day. I'm wanting to get my July stats up- so today we thought we would try to knock this series off. Little scramble and then had this one in hand. tftc
Back in Christchurch for personal reasons so decided to complete the trail such an awesome day for caching too. Quickly spotted signed log and replaced as found. Tftc an smiley
SJT_NZ were down visiting family and with hidden creature souvies up for grabs we tapped into some local knowledge for some top tips on power trails. We headed out early and came back to this one at the end of the trail, a lovely walk, there were quite a few users on the trail and all caches were in good condition. Thanks BaldEd for putting the trail together.
Tregearp and I were in town for three days and had managed to catch up on most of our family commitments and were in desperate need of some numbers for the 'Turtle'. Although this power trail wouldn't complete the task - it was exactly what we needed for some numbers quickly.
The day was pretty crap actually compared with the last two days of clear skies and sunshine, but at least the rain had fended off the heavy frosts. Despite the rain we headed off and were pleased to get the complete trail of 26/26. All in good order - although we did find one log without a plastic bag which we added.
Great to find a power trail so well maintained - thanks BaldEd for all 26 of the caches.

This was the second objective for the day. We unloaded our bikes after parking on the street recommended by the CO. A DNF on a nearby cache, but once we got into this series we had no such issues. A straightforward ride to Rangiora on a clear day, caches 4, 7 and 10 were skipped due to oncoming muggles but easily found on the return journey. Thanks for this series BaldEd, all caches fine.
Our day went something like this. Left Blenheim just before 5am. First cache found around 9.15am (yes, it was a slowish drive down). Children's Name series done, Passchendaele trail started at 12pm. Lunch, then the Eclipse tins and a few extras out past Yaldhurst. Last cache found with the sun just below the horizon. 101 for the day, easily a record for Jo and I. Hidden creature challenge achieved, as well as a few other milestones (100+ Gracie7 + Mum caches included). TFTC to all COs, sorry about the cut and paste. Anything of importance pertaining to individual caches is at the start, but no wet logs - just a few DNFs. All logs signed 'R + J'.

On a work trip to Christchurch for a couple of days. Today I had some spare time to go off and find some caches. And to reveal some Hidden Creatures. I decided that this trail of caches would be a great place to start. I don't usually like copy / paste logs but sometimes make exceptions for 'power trails'. I had a good time walking this one. Started somewhere in the middle, walked nearly to the start. Drove a bit where I could, then parked and walked a bit more. I found all the caches that I looked for which was a bonus. A great day for it too. TFTC, Biggles.
Out for a cache finding mission with Mr Cuddly Brick. Signed as 2CB today. Thanks for the cache.
