A three day trip to the Nation's Capital from Adelaide for a couple of St John Ambulance events and activations. Luckily with a little time as well to explore Canberra and find some (mainly solved puzzles and AL) caches.Today despite the 33C I managed 17 caches in a 2h walk. This was actually my only trad of the afternoon. After doing the 5 AL stages, I thought I may as well record the local trad as well!.Tftc The Farmers 5
After a dnf previously and allot of people around it was great to get this on a quiet and pleasant day. TFTC.
Previously looked for this one and couldnt find, returned and found it immediately. TFTC
New log book and pencil in place in zip lock bag.Stealth a must .Please hide as you found .
There are two collectibles in there.Needs a new zip tie and a new notebook.Thank you very much for hiding it here
First ever cache found in act for me! Loved the is spot and had some time to burn whilst the rest of the family had a great time at questacon.TFTC =)
Windy afternoon in Canberra before heading back to Sydney. Haven't seen this type of cache before. Thanks for the cache!
Me and my sister were looking for geo cashes around act. I can't believe we found it.
Goldy is visiting Canberra with my friend "goldyscacheelf" for caching, museums and history.I have taken my foot off the pedal recently when it comes to caching. However, I have never been to the ACT before so the Territory is my cache oyster.I'm targeting the virtuals and highly favourited caches around the area.I did mostly caching today before heading back to the War Memorial again.Cool little spot. Very cool reading all the information. Also, cool and well hidden cache. I found it quicker then I thought I would. I dropped a TB to continue on. Thanks for bringing me here. Thanks The Farmers 5 for this traditonal cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 4179 on the 14th of July 2024.
Day 23 of my interstate trip. Today was my second day in Canberra and made my way around the Parliament House area on foot picking up what I could while doing a few tourist things as well.. I managed to find 20 caches today and only 1 DNF.Cool hide glad I had the area to my self not sure how I would explain finding this one to a stranger.TFTC The Farmers 5
Found while working on the Reconciliation Walk Ad Lab. We were very lucky and had a suitable break in the muggle traffic. There was a bit of a break in the cold spell today and the sun was out much earlier and things warmed up, even though the temperature only got to 13 degrees. We had been keen to ride our bikes round Lake Burley Griffin so today was the day. We only made it to the Farmer's Market on our first attempt then had to return to the van with our purchases! With that done it was back out to firstly catch the tram into town and then the ride round the lake. On our way round we picked up a variety of caches, trads, multis, puzzles and quite a number of Virtuals. Some were straightforward while others challenging.Lunch at the National Portrait Gallery was welcome. We made it home just as the sun was settingThank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache The Farmers 5.**SKI Pair****
Tricky find, but managed to release it without too much trouble. Very interesting installations and thanks for bringing us here from UK!
Found it easily enough, although I accidentally made a lot of noise trying to retrieve it! In case anyone's wondering the same as a previous finder: no, you can't remove the whole thing. Nothing in the cache but log, which was dutifully signed. TFTC!
The words "public holidays excepted" are some of the finest that adorn the various parking signs of the ACT, and I decided to take advantage of that in the Parliamentary Triangle area upon a (very accurate) recommendation that there likely wouldn't be quite so many people out and about here. And once I'd followed the Reconciliation Walk ALs, I ended up at this trad without a soul around! This structure is one of several interesting ones along this trail that I really enjoyed visiting (the one acknowledging Indigenous soldiers felt especially poignant today). As for the cache, one point stuck out as a potential hiding spot for a small and the phone camera helped to confirm the cache's placement there. The logbook was signed shortly after with a lovely sunset overhead.I didn't take note of the means of attachment, although if it does unhook somehow then I didn't take advantage of it, meaning I had to awkwardly squat and fiddle around until the screwing thread finally decided to cooperate!Good thing I did it today of all days, eh?!Thanks to The Farmers 5 for putting this one here!
Good look for it i was using my phone camera to look under it was effective, good hide
Found alot of spider webs before we found the cache. Today was all about Capital Hill and the area to the lake. About 10 km walked today ( at least ). Adventure labs, virtuals, earthcaches, multis, wherigo and trads plus the odd puzzle were targeted on the walk. some we just didn't have the time for. We walked for over 8 hours. Some interesting history was sighted along the way. quick find.Found with Mogni. Myself and mogni are headed off to canberra on the " I missed the Capital GeoBash Mega " holiday, since last minute family problems came in to play and we had to adjust our plans by a few weeks. On the way over we targeted multi's, wherigo's and puzzles to make sure we had 25 in each or at least close to that total ( or more ) as possible, getting as many new New South Wales LGA's as possible, the 17th most favourite point NSW cache and every cache size in New South Wales. In the ACT it was getting 2 of the 5 oldest letterboxes, oldest wherigo in Australia, 2nd oldest earthcache ( with a side trip to get the oldest earthcache of course ), and ACT oldest cache too. I also hosted a CITO and planned on getting every different cache type i could and eevry different cache size as well. I also needed 9 more virtuals this trip to get my virtual count over 100. Finally canberra was far enough away from from house to complete the well aged well travelled cacher 0 to 1000 kms with a cache every 10 km's ( i only need 7 more caches to complete )Leaving the ACT it was going via Victoria to get there last active web cam cache and slowly getting a total of 20 finds in each LGA i passed through if i had enough time plus also hosting a CITO in Victoria as well. A busy 11 days. Trust me by the end of the holiday you would have thought the 6 meter ladder weighed more than 13 kg's to amount of times it was used or carried up hills or over creeks. If your cache was found with a broken container/lid it was replaced or if the log was full it was replaced or a extra log if the container was big enough ( except for nano's, do your own maintenance on nano's.
Day 7 of mogni and sir_spectre visit the ACT. Today we tackled the many, many city caches. We parked at Parliament House and started walking and walking and walking. It was another beautiful day and lots of people out and about enjoying it.We really only stopped so we could attend a local event and saw few a familiar faces. As per normal if a cache needed a bit of love, it got it. Thanks to The Farmers 5 from mogni
Second day in Canberra and we visit the area around the old Parliament House. There were some ghosts for us to discover here. We diligently took pictures to document our visit. We would like to thank everyone who created a geocache. He made the day more interesting for us.
Lovely autumn day out and about with AdventurerKris at the end of her VanLife holiday. What a great sculpture, and sneaky hide.TFTC

Our first physical cache in the Capital after several virtual and AL. Thanks for a cunning hide.
Day #8 Geobashing It was our last day in Canberra, so OzHockeyChick and I made a must do list all over Canberra for our last day. We werent going to let the weather stop us.Repeating the 3rd adventure lab which had to be republished, we stopped along the way and grabbed this trad. Fortunately not too many muggles nearby.A big thanks goes to The Farmers 5 for taking the time to add Terra Nullius to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Looking for caches to find when visiting Victoria? Canberra Geobash Road Trip 2024. Day Eight: More caches of interest around Canberra, focussing on Virtuals and AdLabs due to the inclement weather today.A quick find here while doing the Adlab. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, The Farmers 5 ~ ~
I found this very difficult to access with my sore knees. Luckily nobody was around to see me searching and eventually retrieving this cache. It could only be accessed by getting down and dirty! It art work was interesting and thoughtful.
Up in Canberra to attend the Capital Geobash over the Easter long weekend. Found this one on the Tuesday afternoon after the mega.TFTC
Found while visiting Canberra for the GeoBash mega, on a glorious day. The weather really has been amazing - I definitely didn't want to return to New Zealand at the end of our trip. We were in the middle of an Adventure Lab when we came to this location and met another couple of geocachers who had just found the cache in this clever spot. We were happy to sign the log as TINZ and return the cache to its hiding place. Thanks for the cache
Respect. Found on the Mega Capital Geobash coastal loop via Adelaide - Barrington - coast to Mexico City loop. A lot of caches and white line fever was sweated out. Enjoying great company and the different aspects of our Commonwealth Capital. Thanks The Farmers 5 for contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy.
Had to lie horizontal to find. Can't believe you can hide a cache that size here. Gets a favourite point from us.
We were all set to leave Canberra early however as the fog was thick we decided to just wander around and grab a few caches until it lifted. We were so focussed on the nearby Ad-Labs that we almost missed this one. A great hide. TFTC.
TFTC.....nice quick find and caught up with a couple of NZ cachers whilst we admired the artwork. TR1N1TY gave me one of her path tags, I haven't been caching long (under my own name at least) and she was the first cacher who's offered me one, thank you ??

Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers The Farmers 5! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!
The Cockburn Crew are on tour at the Capital Geobash in Canberra - travelling from Perth to Sydney, Canberra, Sydney and finally back to Perth.Today was day 3 and we had an absolute blast, after an earlier night last night we got up early to head to Yass and the surrounding areas to cleanup a bunch of caches inparticular whereigos and our personal favourite the challenge caches. We stopped in Yass and completed some high quality caches before venturing back to the trails. We completed a huge number of trails, challenges, whereigos, traditional, multis, earthcaches, labs, virtuals and puzzles. It really was a great day for variety. We enjoyed caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. Logs signed as part of team WA/WAC (WA Crew)
During our weeks trip with Bare Foot Guru, Infoferret and Trinity to the Canberra Mega we logged as a combination of "BFG, CF, BIC, BITC" depending on who we were caching with at the time. The trip took us on a flight to Melbourne first, then a drive to Canberra, followed by a drive to Sydney before flying out again. Where possible I will add commentary to each find about the cache. Thanks for all the caches, hides and effort put into hiding and maintaining them.Nice big bison.
In Canberra from Melbourne for the Capitol GeoBash and having a ball.Found this one with a little help from some friends.Well hidden.TFTC
