We are back in our favourite areas for a few days. We like to refresh our memories and look for what has been added since our last visit - touristic additions and new caches. We had been here couple of times for this cache, but only today - with a PAF - we found the cache and signed the log.Another fav point for this hide!Tftc Liz and Bruce

A relatively quick find but I've seen this before so I had a clue once I took inventory of the area. Otherwise it could take much longer.Nice hide. ?? This geocache was on my priority/bucket list due to its high Favourite Point (FP) count. We arrived to a vacant lot, and our initial focus were the cool wall murals. There was something suspicious that caught our attention, and it didn't seem to serve a functional purpose, but after a few looks, there was no sign of a cache, so we continued to search. Ultimately, we needed a PAF to the CO team, and that allowed us to search another sub-area to discover the prize. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks [Liz and Bruce](https://coord.info/PR68BB) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------During this trip, I travelled with [Freddo](https://coord.info/PR8C14) (who was visiting from Adelaide, SA) and we visited Maryborough for an extended weekend.Friday was the drive north, which involved the full day with stops in Nambour, Eumundi, Pomona, Gympie, Tiaro, and Maryborough, and highlights included the *Evil* series and the *Big Aussie Day Bash* series. The weekend's two days prioritised the *Jolly Brolly Folly* (JBF) series and *Geocaching 101* series, with a Sunday afternoon trip to Utopia Falls. Finally, Monday's itinerary included a few last geocaches that were in town, and we then returned home via Beaver Rock, Maaroom, and Tin Can Bay.A fun and rewarding trip with great company and friends, and we were rewarded with good weather throughout our trip.Today, it was our final day for our Maryborough trip, and [Freddo](https://coord.info/PR8C14) and I had final ambitions for a few remaining *Big Aussie Day Bash* series geocaches that we had yet to visit, and then circling back through town for one last time. We enjoyed seeing Queen's Park and had a late morning tea, and it was on to the Beaver Rock series. A few interestingly themed geocaches using our TOTTs, and then we returned home via the eastern ocean route before going through Gympie. There were a few interesting seaside towns visited, such as Maaroom, Boonooroo, Tin Can Bay, and Cooloola Cove.

We needed a phone a friend here. It was Monday and quiet as a mouse but we were looking in the wrong place. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them.Freddo traveled north from deep south to catch up with friendly Liz and Bruce and the RV Home base crew. David Wazza provided a sturdy vehicle and we traveled in style. We had good weather. Not to hot. Not to rainy. Lovely one day and perfect the next. The caches were found in a blur of Which Is Next and Where Are We Going Now. Some caches were harder to find than others. Some caches we could see from the car. Regardless all caches were found in the last place we looked.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. Returning to Brisbane from QOGM 2023 with MorganEd who is visiting from New Zealand. This trip was bookended by MorganEds flights from and back to New Zealand so it was a limited selection of caches on our rather hurried journey.Maryborough was our last overnight stop of the trip and only a few caches before steaming southwards. We'd hoped to have dinner here last night but had missed the boat for that. We settled for a cache this morning instead. It certainly took a long time for us to find this one. We'd almost given up when the lady from the diner came out with a hint and bingo! Cache found.Logs were signed MEEC1-the ME for MorganEd and the EC1 for me.TFTC

Found on a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious weekend collecting umbrellas and others over Anzac Day with DisSister and The Marble. This one took us ages, and that was even after hours – I hate to think how tricky that would be if there were any cars here! Love the artwork! Pity the cafe wasn’t open.TFTC, Liz and Bruce. =^.^=

24-Apr-23
A most enjoyable long weekend spent in the company of La Kedi and The Marble exploring the Maryborough area and collecting a wonderful variety of cache types and hides. We took some time finding the cache here so were glad the place was closed and no muggles hampered us. Great artwork. Thanks for placing and maintaining this one Liz and Bruce

Popped up to Maryborough with La Kedi and DisSister to do some power trails this weekend. A great way to spend our time this ANZAC weekend. My my, that took some searching. Love the artwork. And a sneaky hide. TFTC

Another big day out in the Habanero Sport with Patrol14 & TMZ59…The plan/idea/couple of thoughts strung together, is to try and clear the map between Tiaro & Maryborough…

Seems like Maryborough was the place to be over Easter, couple more cachers and it might have been a Mega…

Looking for somewhere for lunch, this GZ ticked two boxes… a cache and food… of course we took care of the cache first, with Eagle Eyed Patrol14 producing the cache without me even noticing…

That’s both clever and sneaky…

Thanks Liz and Bruce

14-Apr-23
Found it after a while

12-Apr-23
1.25pm
Out for the day with Peppa and TMZ59 and are caching around Maryborough and surrounds to find a few more caches.
Looking for a place for lunch peppa piped up about a cache just here with lots of favourite points and a diner. Ticked both boxes so pulled in near gz and set about looking. I checked a few places then stepped back to check the mural and then spied what could have been the cache. Showed peppa, who wondered what I was holding, then realised it was the cache. What a Clever hide! Took me less than 5mins to find.
Now with signing duties out of the way we ventured inside to enjoy a lovely lunch.
Thanks for the cache and lunch place. A favourite point from me.

12-Apr-23
Very clever hide. Eagle eyes patrol14 found it. Back in Maryborough area to grab some more caches. Out with my Geo friends, patrol14 and Peppa. What a lot of fun today has been. TFTC

11-Feb-23
Alyce and I made a spontaneous trip to Maryborough and brought the 4 youngest along for the ride. Our goal for the day was to grab the Brolly that we solved recently, but we forgot to download the list and had no internet when we arrived, so we decided to head into town to clean up some caches instead.

It was an action packed day filled with adventures and fun times. The kiddies enjoyed the experience but grew tired towards the end of the day. All in all we all had a fantastic day exploring Maryborough and the surrounding areas.

Oh my! This was one tough little bugger to find and it must have taken us around 30 minutes. If it wasn’t for the PAF we’d still be looking. Great little hide, although we did spend a good amount of time sussing out another spot for some time.

Thanks for bringing us here.

We called back again and had no luck..We then had a chat with the cache owner, how we meet at an evening event in town.. they gave a better hint, so back we went..Wow, there it was .Bingo. Right were we had looked. Tftc

26-Jan-23
A long time ago I heard that there was going to be an Australia Day event in Maryborough. It is a long way from home, especially for one day, so I ignored such whisperings. However, earlier in the week Chamad asked if I could make it possible to go up for the weekend. With the little turmoils needing to return to school on Friday, it had to be a whirlwind, very long day trip and I had to work out who was willing to have the turmoils and who could have the geopup. With everything in place, we made it happen from late Wednesday night to late Thursday night.

After the Australia Day event out at the weir, Chamad and I completed a few target caches in Maryborough and then headed to Tin Can Bay to clean out those caches before heading back to Brisbane. A very long, hot day but between these, new ones and ALs, we got around 80 caches in the area.

22-Jan-23
We under stood the hint and could see the painted wall. No luck for us here. We just can't find it surched high and low..Will call back as we are staying in town for a few days.

Hi Liz and Bruce, spent some time here last night without any luck after a HJs dinner, I wish I got to eat at the diner! Looks really cool! Had to PAF or instant message … is that IMAF? Hahaha with a bit more of a hint , back again in the morning. Cool one.

If you guys are ever in Toowoomba make sure you let me know!

Thank you to all the owners, who took the time to place and maintain, without you, we would have no game.

On the third day of getaway down from Townsville for some Jolly Brolly Folly and some other targets as part of a catch up with ex Clownsvillian greencordial
Clever hide. Placing the coords on the building threw us and I did check a few of those on ones further up.
Thanks to Em who couldn’t find it without help
Thanks Liz and Bruce for the fun and challenge.

Oh Happy Days are here, actually stayed nearby last night but didn't have much of a look with fading light and people picking up dinner. Parked close and found a well hidden cache, with no one around. I have seen some variations of this hide online but not in the field! thanks for a great hide. That new log just fits!

Today we're on the grand tour of Maryborough, accompanied by our friendly hosts Liz and Bruce.

Thanks for placing and maintaining the cache

08-Oct-22
Sneaky find! Took me a while and had to ask the staff for a hint! Love it!!

22-Aug-22
We looked and looked here. We looked in places we probably shouldn't have! We looked again and were totally perplexed. Just as we were about to give up Mrs SKI stepped back and then had an inspiration, even though we weren't at Inspiration Point. It was then that she found the beautifully hidden cache.
A favourite from us. Haven't seen one like this before.

Day 4 & 5 in Maryborough. We thought we would continue to look around town and spend our time caching here. It didn't quite work out as we thought as there were a number of caches in parks and reserves and we ventured wider as well. A good variety of caches and hides all in generally good condition. We had mixed results on a number of tree fishing attempts. Some we just couldn't spot, others we couldn't reach with our fishing pole. Will have to look at some further modifications when we get home! We did manage to get a couple though!

Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Liz and Bruce.

On my way from Canberra to North Queensland with a few detours for shires. TFTC.
Was here at night. Very busy. Back this morning and had just changed tactic when the shop lady came out and hinted just where I was about to check.

10-Jun-22
One of the great locations in town.
Nearly had a meal here but the pub was so much better.
Nice easy find for bella at waggy and I as we had puzzlered ourselves before a cache in Victoria.

**FP for the location and making a tricky hide**

10-Jun-22
Happy Days it was as we made a night time find after the area was a little quieter. The Bug and I had seen one like this before way down south.
We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

05-Jun-22
After ordering dinner, I checked my phone and realised there was a cache very close by. Konie and I headed over to GZ. Not a lot of options to search here. Having found a similar cache in my early days of caching, it wasn't long before we were adding our names to the logbook. Once everything was returned as found, we headed on our way. TFTC

05-Jun-22
After an enjoyable day doing the JBF series we stopped off for a bite to eat and one more cache. Happy Days was nearby and once at GZ Selva Girls made the find and after signing the log all was returned as found.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for me and others to enjoy.

We stopped in here to break up the drive and thought we better grab a few on our way through.

Thankfully once we arrived here in the dark there was nobody around. Once arriving at ground zero we looked around without torches, so we did not attract any unwanted attention. After a quick call to the cache owner confirming what we were looking for we had the cache in hand were discussing leaving it a Favourite Point. We quickly added our ink mark to the logbook and replaced as found. As we started to walk back to the car JLK started drafting this log.

Thank you for the cache placement and maintenance Liz and Bruce
Thank you for the Hunt

Oh Happy Days! Devious little hide. A favourite point from me. On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting & detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird or Angry Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC Liz and Bruce

Out on the bike again today, on another mission. A milestone find is looming today, so I need to plan my finds carefully. I was out nice and early chasing the ALs in town and it was nice and quiet at most of the places I visited.

Not quite so early now. A few customers in the diner, but still quite quiet at GZ. Got some help with this one. Big Grin Not something I have seen in very close to 12000 finds. Very cool. A favourite point for it even if it had me stumped.

02-Nov-21

Four visits, repeated reading of past logs and a discussion with HansandLinda resulting in just the slightest of hints. Our final visit, at 9pm after all the surrounding shops had closed for the evening and we didn't need to be so concerned about muggles, allowed us the time to finally do a thorough search. And we still would have missed it except for a recent find in Hervey Bay is vaguely, very vaguely, similar Big Grin

A favorite from us!

Thanks for find #2383

Our first time at this place.... We saw only Supercheap till today.
The back is much nicer. And gee, so tasty food at reasonable prices!

A beautiful mural outside, a beautiful decoration inside.

Unfortunately we had no luck with spotting the cache. Next time, may be.

Wow! Looked everywhere for this one, had to enlist the help of the friendly shopkeeper. So I cannot take the credit for finding this one.

I have seen one of these before, on the coast about 25km south east of here. Not your everyday cache that's for sure!

I have been here a few times and never found it. Think outside the square, because it is nowhere near where you think it would be.

04-Jul-21
Logging old caches originally found with alphag_25. Now have my own account and logging them separately so that I can claim the finds.

Happy dance for happy days! We came here earlier in the day but found the area too busy to enter into a decent search. Yes, the logs do suggest that help is available, but we wanted to try it unaided. So, we returned at ca. 8.30pm. The last worker was still cleaning, and her lift was waiting in a car outside. We decided to subtly hang around the general area, looked at floor finishes in a shop window, confused the pizza workers who probably thought we were coming to pick up a late dinner, and did what we are not good at: we killed time. Meanwhile, the wind was getting cooler and the first rain drops were coming down. There had been impressive lightning all afternoon.
Finally, the shop was closed and the two good citizens left the car park so we could start our search. The increasing rain activity added to our adventure, but we did not intend to give up. V had an idea, tried and dismissed it. S followed it through (luckily, she had not cut her nails today as planned), and voilà! What a beauty! We took it into the vehicle to complete the signing duty, one of us returned it to its home, and off we went.
Leaving a FP for the adventure and the smart hide.
Thanks Liz and Bruce!

Easter trip away with fitzy_1965 for the cacheQLD Dayboro Mega.

Today we had a slow day caching around Maryborough in-between catching up with both muggle & caching friends. Ended the day with a bonus FTF with Liz and Bruce after dinner.

All caches were found in good condition unless otherwise stated....last for the night and what a sneaky one. Glad I did this at night.

21-Feb-21
After a long day yesterday it was nice to get in a good night sleep and be ready for another long day today.

Today will be spent grabbing a few around town, a drive out to beaver rocks, re visiting a few I had already done and grabbing a helping hand on one I had a DNF on. Then it was back to finish off the trail before a detour outside of Gympie. Yes another long day, but a rewarding one for us all, (us being Willis007, Simber15 and myself).

Around town there were some very interesting caches; a few puzzles, a few trads, a couple of whereigos, some labs and even a few multis. All caches were found in good condition and logs signed with individual names today.

Thank you to all of the CO’s for the placements and the maintaining of these for us all to enjoy. I am guessing I will be back again for some more up here as I did not get to complete everything, lol.

It was a fun day with lots of laughs and some entertaining sights along the way.

This one had us for a while, we even had to PAF on this one till we finally got it.

After a needed steak and chips, and a good night's sleep, our team consisting of Simber15, Chamad and myself kicked day 2 of our caching weekend off by collecting some of the fabulous caches around Maryborough. I love the themes and quirkiness of the town centre, the AL and caches were very clever, and the murals are fantastic. A big shout out and thank you to the COs here. We then headed out to finish off the 101 trail.
Arriving at gz I loved what I saw, these murals are fantastic. After spending some time looking around I had exhausted all areas, or so I thought, and put out a call to the CO. With guidance from Liz, I was able to then find the cache reasonably quickly. Happy Days! Fantastic camo, a fav from me.
Thanks to Liz and Bruce, well done Smile

Day two of our Maryborough adventure. Chamad suggested we start in the centre of town and complete the AL's before targeting some nearby traditionals, multi's and an earthcache. We also came prepared with some pre-solved puzzles and built a lap around Maryborough. After a break for lunch coupled with the Makku Mob we headed back onto the 101 Geo trail. Loved the adventures with Chamad and Willis007. Maryborough has a wonderful collection of unique hides and quirky art which we enjoyed very much. I will look forward to another opportunity to find some more!

I joined Ian and Penny today to finish the "Geocaching 101 series". I had previously found the first 9 caches.

We made a quick detour through Maryborough so I could find this sneaky little cache in the empty car park at 5am! The torchlight helped me located this well hidden cache. A favourite for me! TFTC.

Well that was tricky and well hidden.
I was obviously struggling here and the local restaurant guy gave me a good hint.
Certainly would’ve walked away unhappy here if he didn’t intervene.
Cache is in excellent condition.
I visited 4 TB.

This was a wicked hide and took us ages to spot. We were just about to head over to see whether the owners of the nearby restaurant may give us a hand? But then a message from the owners with a plan for a quick cup of tea together, also gave us a small hint to help find what we were looking for.
That extra bit of knowledge we soon had the tricky hide in our hands. We take our hats off to this sneaky location and hide!
Thanks Liz and Bruce. A FP added.

I got a buzz out of two geocaches today and this one made the grade Dropping a big fat **FAVE** point here

Estimated time to locate this tricky hide was roughly 15 minutes. Hey it could have been more A previous log tipped me to the possibility it may be an unusual placement and from there I trusted my (somewhat inept) geocaching instincts These hides are quite rare There’s one near a lake a bit further south.

TFTC Liz and Bruce, happy here
