Quite an easy find especially with past logs. Log was quite wet and hard to sign but I left a mark! Thanks for the cache

Second of the trio of bike path caches along here today and the one that had me going for a little while. It wasn't until I read a previous log about being found 7 metres 'north' of the posted coordinates that I decided to widen my search pattern. Figuring that 7 m north would put me in the creek Surprised, I moved east instead and finally spotted what, at first, look like misplaced swag but instead was the top of the cache container at 14:45. Big Grin

I took a reading and got the coordinates **S 37° 40.365 E 145° 02.723**, which I was able to recheck on my return visit

TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks amaali.

Some beautiful thistles along this path; got this cache fairly quickly.

7m n of GPS in a place where be careful where you tread. But 3 scary he's and no snakes. So a victory.

07-Nov-21
That that took a bit of looking but we got there. Maybe it was a bit harder because it’s overgrown.

06-Nov-21
Massive search w the little Quokkas but no luck

12-Aug-21
Log was wet as it wasn't placed back properly (we assume out on the ground in the open isnt where it should have been). TFTC

17-Jul-21
Think were in the right spot... Might need some gardening before we can get to it though

04-Apr-21
Thought about snakes and went for it anyway. TFTC

Upon arriving at GZ and looking at all the possible hiding spots I thought I’d be here for a very long time. Thankfully this one wasn’t as difficult as I’d initially thought. Reading previous kids helped. TFTC amaali

A great day out with Omegaman1971, Our trip last weekend got canceled due to the five day lock down so we were glad we could get out again this weekend, we had a great day out exploring new areas.

This is one of the caches we found on our travels.

Thanks amaali for the cache.

Thick long vegetation, a warm day and some rocks. What could go wrong? Well, after gently looking at a number of candidates I did arrive at a spot which could be attractive both for hiding a cache as well as a venomous animal.
Thankfully I didn't blithely stick my hand in to feel around for the cache otherwise I would probably have added a hospital visit to my list of places I visited today. After giving a plant which had taken root in the cleft a little bit of a vigorous back and forth I mostly definitely saw some sinuous movement. Now I can't be sure the colouration included alternate bands of light and dark given the cleft was quite clearly shaded but I believe that to be the case. I beat a calm but hasty retreat and focused my search elsewhere. That proved to be both the healthiest as well as winning strategy. You don't need to go into all the nooks and crannies here.

Only took a few moments to find this one.
Replaced as found.

This took a bit of a search. So many possible places and a also a bit of rubbish about to confuse things. Eventually I found this little chap hiding away. Good spot for a cache.

Kato Potato and I had booked accommodation in Mill Park for the Whittlesea MEGA event.....non-refundable accommodation which thankfully opened up to us regional Victorians this very week. Despite not being able to attend the now-cancelled MEGA, we got back in the saddle of geocaching and realised how much we'd missed it in 2020.

I went high, Kato went low and found the goods....then the muggles descended so we had to patiently wait to replace the cache. TFTC amaali

15-Nov-20
After a particularly long caching hiatus thanks to COVID-19, Mummy Short Legs and I finally got to hit the road again for our annual caching weekend away. This weekend was originally planned to be celebrated with the nearby Mega event, cancelled for obvious reasons. We still had an accommodation booking though and thought waste not, want not! A great weekend away and an opportunity to just enjoy the area.

There were a lot of tall weeds around but we figured we were hunting in the right spot. Thankfully the spot I headed to proved to have the goods. The cache contents were rather wet but we managed to leave our mark and 'hang out' until the path was clear of exercising muggles in order to replace it as was. TFTC amaali.

Hasn't been found for awhile probably due to the dreaded lockdown but it was a quick find for us by the younger UTurned. Tftc

It was lovely and sunny this afternoon... and I was indoors helping a friend make the leap from his old feature phone and almost defunct tablet to a shiny new smartphone. He's gonna hate it.

Anyway...

I finally rode out the gate as the sun was setting, and the temperature cooling rapidly. But I warned up fairly quickly, especially once I'd gone over the Ring Road on the bridge to the west.

A few finds later, and I reached the Darebin Creek. Now, I've cached, played Ingress and ridden the creek trail many times and tonight, was impressed by two things: firstly, that the squares of reflective tape I placed near the entrance to the trail are holding up surprisingly well, and the trail and the creek in general continue to be improved by various interest groups.

Thanks, amaali... this could have been a tedious search, but one comment in a found note stood out, making it a nice quick find.

And with that, I'm up where I left off on my recent walk. Time for a change of scenery.

We had found this cache a while back, but forgot to bring a pen. So we returned today with a one in tow Smile TFTC amaali!

Only found it because of previous comments. Maybe it’s been moved from original location?

Found at 2:58 pm.
Well I didn't go away anywhere for the long weekend and neither did OzHockeyChick. So today we went on a bike ride along a couple of trails and this was one of them.
After completing the aqueduct trail in Research/Eltham area we headed over here for another nice and not too hilly ride. It was a busy little trail along here today with the beautiful weather but it was handy having the bikes and a companion so we looked a lot less suspicious.

This was a tricky one with lots of places to search. After 10 or so minutes when made a PAF and found it after a short search on the way back along the trail.

Thanks amaali for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

With our respective caching buddies out of town or otherwise occupied this weekend, spiffy and I decided to team up, drag out the bikes and find a trail or two.
We tried to find this the first time along with no luck. Decided to dnf.
However a short time later, I received a response to my paf message, so we stopped for another look on the way back. Bingo!
5m north east of zero, not south west!
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache, amaali

Out and about with Trailstevo, on a 10km walk, which went wrong and ended up at 16km. Having reviewed the map and seen a few more cache being published in the area I thought we would do a lap. Certainly know we had covered some distance by the time we got back, but were rewarded with 14 (I think ) cache. Two of which were prior DNFs. Thanks for the exercise and adventure Amaali

27-Jan-20
Took a little while to find. TFTC amaali
Out with caching friend OzArtek

26-Jan-20
Well, that 10km walk with Gunks to do a Mill Park loop collecting caches turned into a 16km trek. Found all except one. Good mixture of hides. Plenty of muggles out early but got a bit lonelier once darkness descended. TFTC

25-Jan-20
After many many months of this one eluding me, I was very pleased to be able to make the find today.
Watch for muggles.. they can appear very suddenly. TFTC amaali

24-Jan-20
Very busy path but not but the got it.

21-Jan-20
I read greytiger's note that a bit of muscle was needed to get in, and was convinced that the cap of the guard rail needed to be taken off. I don't think it's too much of a spoiler to say that it doesn't - my muscle wouldn't budge it and Young Bruce took the phone and went to where GZ was, and made a find with much less muscle. Thanks amaali for the cache.

21-Nov-19
Checked today for amaali, the cache is in place just needs a little muscle to get to it.

No joy last night, looks like some new mulch has been put down, maybe it is now buried.... Sad

26-Aug-19
Nice and quiet here at the moment gave us plenty of time to make the find. Nice little hide

21-Aug-19
Out tonight with Bunadoorian to keep my daily streak going. Found by torchlight - hint helped. Loved the small cache. The only muggle around was asking if we were looking for a dog!! TFTC amaali

03-Aug-19
Our first for the day. Out and about with echidna44 for another fun day of caching with only one DNF. Nice easy find here. Thanks for your cache amaali

02-Aug-19
Out with xambo4u, we decided to walk along the Darebin Creek in Mill Park. We had a successful day with only one DNF.
Our first for the day. Thanks amaali

Found this one a little while ago but forgot to log. Found with my youngest while out for a bike ride this afternoon. We made this our last find down this end of the trail before turning around and then start our way back up along the path, ah the joys of parking half way along. A nice straight forward ride though with a good wide concrtete path to help us along. Managed a quick find with this one, thanks again amaali for the placement of the hides along this trail.

03-Jun-19
GPSr was pointing about 5 metres SW from where I did discover this very small Systema, but all is good on a damp day, with little melted ice drops falling from above, thanks for the hide, amaali

A challenging cache with so many possibilities, but we found it about 5m from where GZ was pointing. Not enough to correct the co-ordinates but so many, many places to check.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for this geocache experience here today.

Cache restored to it's position and all is ok.

25-Apr-19
This was an easier find than it should have been - container was in open and not covered in any way. Tried to give it some camouflage

25-Apr-19
This geocacher reported that there is a problem with this cache.

14-Apr-19
On our second go, found it. Clue makes sense.

Not anywhere we could find. Well hidden.

Suscoe headed for the Bundoora area on a mild day with a bit of sun, a bit of cloud and a mild breeze for a Summer's day.
20 caches visited and 20 caches found.
All caches are in good order and are well maintained by their owners, thank you.

Thanks to amaali for this hide.
An early morning find after a bit of a ride.
All quiet out here today.

15-Feb-19
When I got to GZ, I thought this would take a while to find, but with the hint in mind, I found it very quickly. Glad we stopped at the car for a drink before we headed out down this way as the weather had started to warm up. TFTC amaali, great spot.

14-Feb-19
Cache has been checked and is till in place. No need to play with thorns,

Tried and tried and got bloodied...but couldn’t find it

I was Googled to the wrong side of the creek to start with. But after finding a park near the Dyson depot and a bit of a walk I finally arrived at GZ. Then the fun started. Wandering around the rocks and bushes aimlessly I finally found the little sucker. TFTC.

The geokids were starting to get restless, so it was good that this one was a quick find, thanks.

It was a long day of getting a number of caches in the area in out for a run attempting to get the 100 caches for the hidden creatures souvenir.

Quick find, but a very windy and cold day so i don't think I will get to many
caches today.
Thanks amaali

Darebin Creek Trail sounded like a good place to find some of the Hidden Creatures (souvenirs) today. I had a day off work and so between appointments I came for a walk along this path. There were only a few muggles out walking their dogs so I was able to search for each cache without interruption.

After a short search it was pleasing to see a cache conatiner that is well labelled. Hopefully it will last a long time so that others may enjoy the walk along this trail.

This was my last cache for today. 5 finds from 5 searches.

Thank you amaali for this cache.

This one had me stumped for a while. Broadened my search and eventually found what I was after I liked the hide so I’m giving it a favourite. TFTC

Found while testing my garmin. Picked up pathtag with compliments of VK3TV. TFTC and helpful advice.

I nice find on a sunny afternoon after a walk through the reserve, no bike today. SL and left a Pathtag Thanks amaali

10-May-18
Found @10:40 - I made this much harder than it needed to be. After parking 300m away and walking through grass the gps wouldn’t settle and I found myself walking back and forth along the path. TFTC!

10-May-18
Thanks for your cache amaali, my normal Thursday ride was cancelled because of the weather, I couldn't this chance go by so out I went, the weather was great for riding and for finding caches. A great area and hiding spot, it should attract plenty of walkers and riders. I was able to leave a coin for the next finder.

*FTF* The timing on this cache’s publishing was perfect, I was finishing up at work and looked at my phone and the email popped up, Apple maps said 24 minutes and it was spot on. Today the traffic was light, must be tradie’s day off, as usually it would take 35 minutes.
I found some close parking and in fading light made it to GZ for a quick find at 5:20pm. Thanks for the new cache and also a May publish date so it gets a visit from my Jasmer coin that has visited with me, caches published in May 2000 all the way through to May 2018.
