Day off with the family today so decided to head north for a change and complete some caches around the Lockhart area aswell as pick up a few on the way.

This is a clever hide, spotted something unusual and sure enough cache was found. FP awarded here.

Last cache in the reserve here, and for the day, as time had got away from us and it was time to get cracking back home.
Once again dad went solo here and was thankful for a quick find and sign as there are a couple of paper wasp nests on the structure and we were both looking at each other nervously…
This reserve definitely requires more exploring when we have time so we’ll be back!
Cheers

Driving home from Wagga I decided to go check out Galore Hill. I love the fact there is an arboretum here. I'd need a week to explore it properly though with the way it's set out so randomly. Loved the views too of course. I only found a few caches on this trip up there but I'll be back when I'm not so tired so I can do the walks. Might bring a ladder with me. Haha.

I don't know these cachers but it must be great to have good caching buddies to hang out with at Mega events and other smaller ones.

I've heard heaps about these two and heard them on the old geotalk podcast. I had the pleasure of meeting them briefly at the Queenbeyan mega. Legends.

Found at 12 noon whilst starting to explore the area. We had a read of the nearby information boards before deciding to head to the summit and some walking.

21,376. Found during a meander around The Rock/Wagga region

A group of us from Canberra and Goulburn were at The Rock for a fun weekends caching around the area. While most of them were finishing off the bMg series, I headed over to Galore Hill for some fun caches. This was the third one, and with my TOTT helping out I made a nice quick find.

Thanks baby&Mrs gopher !!

Ever since I lived in Griffith in the early 90s I have wanted to visit Galore Hill - driven past so many times but never got the chance. Today was the day but and the entire family including the geohound had a great time (was windy and cool but no one about). Left a couple for another visit but a fun day had.
Ignored the climb and parked at the sign. Quick look and the sneaky cache found - glad I have a bit of height for this one.

This was a quick easy grab - for Mrs Wackyweedos. Mrs Clazza was a bit short on one end to be able to grab it!

With a day off in hand plus many unfound caches still on the radar to find, I headed out to add a few more Smile to my name. I decided that I would attack the caches in or near the Galore Hill area. This ended up being a great choice because this is the type of caching I enjoy. This includes: bush walking/hiking, great views and common ‘but’ different hides. After this, I headed into Lockhart for some lunch and to avenge a few past DNF’s. I ended up with 18 finds which is made up with 14 GC and 4 GCA caches. Most caches were quick finds and there were many enjoyable types of hides which made for a great day out. TB visit on all caches. I would like to thank all CO’s for the caches I found and for allowing them to bring me and the rest of the caching community much joy. Big Grin TFTC’s Big Grin

Found by Mary and David at 12:15. Feeling quite humbled and honoured by this tribute cache. Had a quick early lunch at the Latte Da cafe in Lockhart on the way here. What a clever name. Had time to admire so many amazing sculptures on our way through the town, and also the lovely painted water tower. Will call in there again later to do the caches. Can't imagine our lives without caching and cachers, especially the special friends we've made such as yourselves. Gets a FP. Our thanks to baby&Mrs gopher.

Roostaman mentioned a cache run, & Mr Drovers put his hand up for an invite.
So today was the day, and I tagged along with Roostaman & Fred6603 on a trip to Lockhart.
It was a nice sunny day with recent rain which made the drive through the countryside stunning.

Once you have met this team, and have a friend for life. It's always lovely to catch up with them.
A favourite point for the hide on this cache.

Many thanks for placing this cache, baby&Mrs gopher, for us and others to find.

After having paid a visit to the CO while we were staying in the area and being told about these new caches honouring fellow cachers, we thought we would just take a bit of a detour to find these ones before heading out of town. The cache was an easy find and we were happy to sign as 2TF. It is such a beautiful area and well worth a visit. We also wanted to find this cache as we know maccamob through the caching game and have met them at various events.
Thanks go to baby&Mrs gopher for this new series.
