I love learning this stuff but usually still have trouble answering the questions. I look at it through a "pretty" lens rather than scientific haha. Ran the Lota parkrun this morning before venturing here for a look. A beautiful area thanks Orange Crew.
Rainy morning out here for earthcache weekend. Did a fair few during the alien challenge so needed to venture a bit further to get a new one.Answers sent with a moderate level of confidence. Thanks for the find
In Brisbane again for a few weeks with BJA3. As we love Earthcaches couldn't help stopping by this one while in the area. Thanks Orange Crew for formalising this Earthcache for us and other to enjoy discovering some new insights into the geology of the area.Answers sent to CO. Fav as always for a great Earthcache.

Out with Muggle65 for a smiley today. This location was beautiful. Thank you for guiding us here
GreenGecko 1 and I recently visited this very unusual site, I found the colouring just as described in the name and was in awe of mother natures beauty.
TFTCMy mum used to live down the road and never knew about these intriguing patterns! Thanks for bringing us here!
I used to come here as a child when wed buy fish and chips from Lota BaitnTackle. I even have a good pic of Dad & I here somewhereTonight (and yes, it was dark and even raining slightly and muddy in parts), I came here with my cousin and her partner (who happens to be a geologist!). Normally with Earthcaches I have NO idea and just guess the answers. Tonight I could give serious & accurate answers! This (and one other cache earlier today) was their introduction to geocaching. And hakkilgi was in his element! Hopefully theyll find some caches on the Great North Walk (Newcastle to Sydney). And then, Im SO jealous, they are going to Seattle. And guess what is there? HQ! Ill never forget tonights adventure - Earthcaching with a geologist!
Site visited, photos taken, and answers submitted. I made a trip to this Earth cache and on a pretty warm summers day. Found the little track to scoot around the mound and observe the tiger stripe formations. However did you find these. Pretty quiet here today so had plenty of undisturbed time to review the questions. I made my observations and headed back to the car. Thanks very much for bringing me to this spot. Cheers
Answers sent to CO with fingers crossed. Sent a photo with proof of visit but can't post because it's a spoiler.
Mrs Crew and our Grand Daughter (ARB0309) headed down the beach for a stroll but the wind was blowing a gale so we restricted our walk to a short stroll to this earthcache.. Had a chat with a couple of muggles sheltering nearby and then quickly completed the loop and back to the comfort of the car.TFTC Orange Crew
Atrip to take a walk along the bayside with our Grand Daughter was aborted due to strong winds but we did a short stroll to this Ec to get the souvenir for EC day.TFTC Orange Crew
I joined Nanny and Pop for a stroll but it was too windy so we just did a short walk to this EarthcacheTFTC Orange Crew
Had a lovely day on the southside and came to this very interesting Earth-cache. Took a look around for the answers and sent to CO. Thank you, Orange Crew for another good surprise.
Over this way for a look and needed to get a cache today for my calendar so this was the perfect cache for the two birds with one stone.
Sent our answers in while sitting away from all the Saturday afternoon play and parties up above. Quietly beautiful spot with an autumn breeze blowing and no seaweed smell from the mangroves. Tftc

Another location we would not have visited without Geocaching.
We were here today on our NSW coast leg of our ‘Around Australia’ trip.
We set off back at the start of 2021 expecting to go around Australia in 12 months - here we are still going in 2023 with about 1/3 of the island left to lap.
My (Geo Mum) personal Favourite experience: Too many to choose, Finding Gold and Opal high up there, working on a CQ cattle station was awesome too.
Favourite location: Gibb River Road/ Kimberley closely followed by Nhulunbuy/ Arnhem Land.
Best paid activity: Horizontal falls
Best free activity: Kings Canyon Rim Walk, Matt Wright putting us up for free in one of his helicopters was pretty awesome. (Let’s not talk about his current situation )
Most interesting location. Arnhem Land
What you have learnt: I wish I had something insightful to put in here, if I though really hard about it perhaps I do but I guess the most practical things I learnt are: Mango sap burns, midges are xxxx’s and dog beds are a versatile alternative to real furniture.
Miss the most: Family & Friends, closely followed by my garden and my chooks.
Look forward to the most: The Whitsundays
Regrets? Worrying so much and not heading off years ago!
TFTC
*Sorry for the copy and paste log but I’m notorious for getting behind with logs and fluffing them up!

I headed down to Brisbane today from Toowoomba to pick up my parents from the airport after their Antartica adventure (so jealous!). I took the opportunity to pick up a few caches that fit the monthly attribute challenge. Thanks for bringing my attention to this formation. The layers are quite interesting and beautiful. Just visiting the lookout you miss the best part of this area. Answers sent. TFTC Orange Crew
Took the new car Missi for a spin and wound up in Lota. Figured a good time to nab this cache as it ticks a challenge box for me. Glad I did - interesting piece of geology here, and decent ol' views.
cheers
Thanks Orange Crew for bringing me to this location.

We come to this playground regularly with the kids but have never come and looked at this geological feature. Thanks!
After having a school friends catchup at Wynnum today, I decided to revisit this Earthcache again. I had visited this location over a year ago but never took the time to formulate answers to the questions.
Is a very interesting geological area that I never knew about even growing up in Wynnum. Our extended family yearly get togethers were held in the shelters further along in the park and I never came to this place.
I have attached a photo of my visit to this Earthcache on 5th Feb 2021...

Came to Lota for parkrun and this cache was right near the start line. I definitely wouldn’t have noticed this area without the cache. A pretty cool rock formation, thanks for highlighting it Orange Crew. Answers sent.
Out on the southside with KerriMG targeting some attributes she needs for Feb.
This is a lovely area and great to see so many people out walking on this beautiful day.
Think I could easily move to this area (well after I win lotto).
Would not have noticed these interesting rock so thanks Orange Crew for pointing them out to us.

Before we spotted the subject matter I was already prepared for the colours we were likely to see. There was going to be grey, brown, cocoa, coffee grind, caramel, tan, hazelnut, chocolate, mocha and all the other flavoured beverages that Chardonnay sipping coffee drinkers imbibe to sound and look cool.
I then had to eat my words when the first colour that came out of Mrs Woodyrothwell’s mouth was a colour I hadn’t heard before at an EarthCache. I had to do a double-take and check that she wasn’t taking the Mickey out of me. Seeing I am colourblind and the only colours I usually see are Passion Pop, tutti-fruiti, light saber and bubble-gum, I had to take her word for it.
We are just busted when it comes to rock knowledge, apart from the knowledge of rock, glam rock and power rock from the 1980’s, so we were happy there was a chart in the description we could follow. We even picked up a few for a squeeze to make sure we were close to correct, but no doubt our answers are still wrong. Thanks for a great lesson even if we forget more than we learned while we were there. Answers sent. tftc

With no other suggestions I’ve taken the usual Friday suspects from Salisbury to Minnippi and now Lota chasing an attribute for the latest February challenge on the Northside…
This GZ certainly fits the bill… and has some very interesting and unique looking geology…
I appreciated the addition of the classification chart…
Thanks Orange Crew for getting us to stop and touch the rocks…

It was a fun morning taking the geodogs Gypsy Girl, Mini Michi and teeny Treek for a walk around the Wynnum area. While on our travels the name of this cache interested us so we stopped by to check it out. Most people to visit this place would take in the great view from the lookout and miss the beauty below their feet. We being geocachers were fortunate to be directed to the beauty below. We spent some time observing the formations and analysing what we saw. It was a great way to spend some time. Thank you Orange_Crew for another enjoyable and educative Earthcache.
First earth cache so wasn’t sure about the questions but definitely think we found the site even if the gps was a bit funny. Love the stripes
Backlogging this from a week ago and sent answers to CO. I want to live along this waterfront its so beautiful. Maybe one day when I'm rich haha but this rock formation is the most beautiful thing I've seen in ages so thank you for bringing me here. X.
Out today to continue a personal challenge I have started and today I was out to clean up a little more of this area. I had more success today, than last time I was here.
I arrived at this earth cache and with the title of tiger stripes I thought what am I in for. A walk around and I found an unusual rock formation and one that gave me a smile. I really enjoyed coming here, so much so I even took a pic to show the girls. Thank you for bringing me here, another piece of geology I don’t understand but enjoyed visiting.

Nice area with a good view and I like the distinctive geological formation. TFTC Orange Crew
After walking on water I realized I need an earth cache in June. I wonder why? Headed south to this one and was most impressed at the stripes!!! Too many muggles around though!!! TFTC

Came to this area for an afternoon BBQ & to play on the playground. Decided to explore some of the caches in the area and came across this one! TFTC!
I've come to this exact location several times. For geocache adventures long ago, with family, for a picnic - and somehow I had never ventured below to see the tiger stripes. Dang geocaching, showing you cool stuff right under your nose again!
Today I was out for a picnic with graceygirl1234, which on ANZAC Day turned out to be rather difficult - everyone wants a picnic someplace pretty on ANZAC Day. I scooted around the map and recalled the Lota foreshore - let's try that. Though, I also noticed the nearby water tap as a POI on Google maps with the greatest reviews possible. This entertained me for most of the drive.
When we arrived and shoo'd some crows, it was BBQ time. While we sat and munched, gracey checked the geocaching map and asked me "what's an earthcache?". My reply "wanna just do one and find out?". Turns out, it was mere metres away and of course, we want to do an Orange Crew earthcache.
After packing up, we headed below and I was astounded this beautiful feature is hiding here. I've come so close so often and never noticed it. I snapped some photos, answered the questions and picked up some plastic on the way out. Then off for a quick squirt around the playground like the children we think we aren't.
My answers have now been sent through and of course, there is photos attached. Thank you for showing me this fun feature, Orange Crew

Out for a pedal around the area. An AL to round up and a variety of others to chads too. This was spectacular at sunrise. The red light reflecting on the rock was stunning.

Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I headed out to Wynnum and Manly to enjoy a nice coastal walk, and followed the *FRESH AIR and SUNSHINE - Down by the Sea …* Adventure Lab. We started out the day at Wynnum Wetlands, and continued to drive south, stopping at the jetties and playgrounds, and then had lunch at Manly. After seeing those markets, we had a few final walks around Lota's coast and bushland.
We walked down from the small lookout to study the cliff face, and as it turned out, it was a great example of a geological outcrop showing these orange features. A good EarthCache lesson too, and I liked the questions that required one to review the rock type. The answers were collected, and sent to the CO for verification. Thanks Orange Crew for the EarthCache placement and organisation.

After abandoning my caching partner for the day to suffer in pain (we had an incident with wasps...), I decided more Earthcaches were needed for the day. This is a great area to visit. TFTC!
This location has been one of my favourite places my whole life, and I’m so glad it’s been used for this cache.
Grey Nomads, hold up in Wellington Point while Mrs D recups from bi lateral knee operation. We have not cached much since Covid hit, but today, Mrs D cried boredom, so out we went to find a few caches, she navigates, he is runner, she does the logging.
In this case, as it was an earthcache, the answers have been presented by Mrs D.
What a beautiful place. I have lived in Brisbane all my life and been a regular visitor to Redlands and Wynnum Manly. Never have I stopped at this beautiful little park in Lota. Thanks for the earthcache Orange Crew. Answers have been sent.

Returned today on a hopefully quieter weekday to avenge our previous missed opportunity to log this Earthcache.
Still plenty of muggles about, but thankfully no kids hacking away at the exposed face today!

This is a beautiful part of the bayside.
Unfortunately, a lovely sunny Sunday is not the time to log this Earthcache. Muggles everywhere picnicking, riding bikes, walking etc. At the time of our visit there was even two very young kids (>6 years old?) playing on the site armed with geopicks digging away at the outcrop! Their presence and that of their nearby picnicking parents prevented us from logging this cache today. On the Southside of the outcrop, a very large tree is currently fallen across the site also preventing another potential point of access.
We will be back!
Thanks For The Earthcache!

Wow what can I say when I looked on the map I went nothing to look at there, but there was and for 30 somethings years we were probably here every second weekend and never noticed... no that maybe a lie, I can remember remarking on the rocks but that was as far as it went, a casual remark. Today I learnt to look harder. TFTC
Caching around the bayside and included this interesting earthcache into our list. Well hidden and away from muggles. Thanks Orange Crew for bringing us to this site.
Out and about caching today on the Bayside. Over this way to do a Adventure Lab Cache and a number of other caches. Enjoyed the area where we had to view to ascertain the answers to the questions. Sent answers to CXO. TFTEC Orange Crew

Visiting my niece in the area and stopped by the fish and chip shop nearby and had lunch in the park so afterwards we made our way to check out this spot. A beautiful area and a nice place to spend new year's day.
Out this way before today’s CITO. Collecting some Earthcaches for a challenge I’m working out. This was a very cool spot and I liked the lesson here. It rare I am out this way so it lovely to sit, ponder, write my answers with the coastal breeze.

There were people nearby however we wandered down to GZ and attempted to work out the answers the best we could.

Today was all about finding an earthcache for this weekend's souvenir. Any way I looked at it, there was going to be a decent drive involved. So decided to target the dark side while all the southerners would be watching Bathurst.
Managed to find a parking spot very close to the exposed rock face. The fish and chip place across the road was doing a roaring business. The muggles and seagulls were all content. Both species were above me while I did my geologist thing down below. Found the tiger easy enough and it was quite tame. It was the two cougars that were stalking me that I was concerned about. They repeatedly licked their lips and sharpened their talons as I was undressed with their eyes. Not wanting to fall prey to their wicked ways, I took the long route back to the car. Give me a tiger anyday just keep the cougars in the (Redland) bay.
Logging with the permission of the CO. Thanks OC for highlighting this interesting feature.

Sunday. Having met up with ZQX, we decided to plunder this earthcache next. Arrived at GZ and I realised that the hour I spent yesterday on my knees trying to find a cache was starting to pay off and with all the bruising, it was harder to bend my knees and scurry down a very small embankment than I imagined. Still, when I saw this earthcache, I thought it was a beaut!! Answers sent to CO for consideration. Well worth visiting this earthcache. Some caches like this one are really different to the usual earthcache. It was nice as it was quite close to a well visited area and not out of the way. Enjoyed this one
This was the 3rd of 3 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***Orange Crew***, for showing us this place.

Slow Puncture and I did this cache together, which meant we could compare notes and probably get better answers than if I had been at GZ solo.

After a brain fail last night caused me to forget to pick up a cache on the drive home from work (and killed off any chance for qualifying for the seven day streak souvenir ), I compounded my blunder by arriving a day too early at the location for the Wattle Day event. The J.E.F.F. App definitely needs some electro-shock therapy to hard-reboot the internal drive [B)].
At least I was able to console myself with a few Earth caches on the drive back home, inlcuding this one, and a lovely fine sunny day to enjoy them. Some interesting rock to observe here. TFTC

What a windy day ! Out and about caching smilies with potatochips101. Thought we would try a new area and included this on our list for today. We braved the cold wind to check out the sites then made a hasty retreat to the car to send answers and write this up. TFTC OrangeCrew... great to check out another interesting area in the burbs !
Couldn’t sleep so decided to get up early and check on the new footings on Misbegot bridge. Some unlicensed assassin blew up the last one in a shoddy attempt on Vetinari. Being mid afternoon it was like being in another world. There were kids everywhere. Worse than beggars kids.
A nice discovery and a very interesting formation, would not have noticed this without doing the Earthcache in such a beautiful part of this suburb.

An interesting little discovery. I love the way that certain elements are exposed by erosion. Thanks Orange Crew, answers following shortly.

Took a GC friend visiting from Melbourne for me to notice this cache again (I think I remember seeing when it published). Alpha Delta Indigo submitted the answers on my behalf. TFTC
Back in this part of town for an event, this EC was not here last I attempted the cache here. Good reason to come back, as I had a memory of the rocks being quite spectacular at GZ.
Had a close look and a feel of broken off part to gather more information.
Answers sent, from here I went off to the lovely event.
Thank you for setting up this earth cache

What else do u do when u have an event to attend ... turn it into an 8 types in a day day
As soon as we read who the CO was we knew this would be a real earth cache not a rock thrown off the back as it drove by
And we were not disappointed
WOW
So amazing
We spent some time just admiring this spot
I will email my answers to come ... Hope they aren't too wrong

Today barbbowman and I decided to grab a few different caches whilst out for an event. We ended up finding 8 geocaches, each one a different type. This was our earthcache for the day.
We pulled up with our frappes and enjoyed the view for a minute before heading down towards GZ. When we got there we just stood for a while looking at it. It was actually so much more interesting than I expected, earthcaches are somewhat becoming a catalogue for Helidon, but this one was just fascinating.
We stood around looking and touching softly, I didn't want to cause any damage to the wall. I have sent in my answers and would love to know the answers to my few questions if you have them. Thanks so much Orange Crew. I really enjoyed this one and it made me excited for earthcaches again so have a favourite point.

What a beautiful and unexpected formation. The colours are brilliant and was worth stopping for. A bonus was the traditional cache in the same location. Thanks Orange Crew.

Answers sent via message. Great little find in a beautiful location! I didn't take a selfie, but here is one of my collection of TBs I need to drop off soon in a spot above the GZ
30/3/2019 - Catching up on many a missed log during a rainy day audit of previous finds.
Interesting land forms in these parts. [O:]

Beadling about bayside and, oh wait, here’s an earthcache!
Took the precarious route to GZ and a selfie in front of the tiger stripes. Responses sent to the CO for myself and Ruzzelz.
TFTC OC You sure do get about

You have to be kidding. Here I was in Hemmant, and looking around for a couple of caches to do on a Sunday morning when I find Tiger Stripes at Lota….
Owned by one OC - unbelievable how much you get around…
Okay, answers sent, and log done.
Thanks for EC and bringing me here.
