Grabbing a daily down by the riverside or on a meandering offshoot of the river in any case. A quick find this time. Someone has donated a pen as well. How nice of them. Thanks choppersrule for the cache and ongoing maintenance.
A lovely walk along the river while we are visiting Townsville for a couple of days. This area is exceptionally quiet and beautiful.
A quick scout around soon had the container in our hands.
Thanks choppersrule

Thanks for the cache Mark (Choppersrule). I made the quick find before work this morning in an attempt to keep my daily streak alive. I was attacked my mozzies at the GZ. SLTNLN.
Getting a few on this side of the river and adding more smiles to my map, lots of Mozzies around. Tftc.
I had sprayed myself with insect repellent, but here I found this didn't work for all insects. Found after a short search. TFTC choppersrule.
Great Northern escape 2022 Day 14. Townsville post Mega section Day 2. For my last day in Townsville, I joined TikvaNZ for another section of the Ross River power trail, with a bit of on and off again rain and a closed section we did pretty well. After that I set myself a list of puzzles and other non -trad caches to find for the day, which all took a lot longer than I expected, not to mention the ongoing rain all day. It has been a wonderful time in Townsville, and I have many more caches to get, so hopefully I will get to pass through again later in the year.
Thanks for the cache choppersrule

Day 14 of a 3 week holiday driving from Canberra to Townsville and back to attend the Mega. This morning Albida33 and I did some more of the Ross River Power Trail by bike/scooter. Apart from having to skip 4 due to being fenced off, all caches we attempted were soon found. TFTC.

Coongoola & Geodog are on an adventure travelling to the Townsville event in Qld. We found your cache today, 9 April 2022 5:09 pm , while enjoying another day out adding to our tally. TFTC choppersrule
I downloaded a few caches along the river last year and now I actually have a chance to find a few. As with the last cache, the water was a wee bit close and up high, I kept an eye out for Crocodiles whilst searching. TFTC.
When first saw was worried thinking like who the hell is this guy hiding it in this.
Is this even a geocache.
Decide to pick it up and with relief found out it wasn’t drugs

I had a few hours this morning before I had to drive home and had the mountain bike packed so decided to do some of this trail, I didn't have time to finish it so will be back another day.
Overall I liked the array of different caches with some being an easy ride all the way to the cache and others needing some tree climbing/fishing ability.
Most of the caches and logs were in good order.
Many thanks to the CO's for placing.

Out caching with Wolffman05 who’s visiting from Cairns. We decided to attack some caches along the Ross River Power Trail.
GPS bounced around under the tree foliage. After searching for several minutes, Wolffman05 located the prize.

We woke up to another great morning with clear sunny skies and light winds so decided it was a great day to go for a ride along the Ross River. The added bonus of series of caches on both sides added to the attraction.
The trails were well formed and flat to undulating and the cache styles varied. Some tree climbs we had a go at where we could spot the cache and others, discretion was the better part of valour! Some we just didn’t bother to try! We managed an Earthcache and qualified for a challenge.
At one stage we spotted a Johnstone crocodile while searching for a cache near the water. Heard 3 others splash in as we approached. Then around the corner we saw turtles and later in a scrubby area quite a few wallabies. Water birds were also quite common.
At the furtherest point where we crossed the river for the return journey we came across a cafe where we were able to sit and enjoy a coffee.
All in all, a great day out with some good caching. Feeling a little tired as we are writing these logs, but what a great day out.
Our thanks to the local COs for developing and maintaining these caches. It is much appreciated.
