Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Making our way to Broken Hill for Mundi Mundi Bash. Today we moved from Inverell to Uralla. Once set up in the showground we headed on over to Walcha using geocaching as our guide. We found this cache today. TFTC geono.
While spending a couple of nights in Walcha was able to get out after the rain to find this cache.Interesting art works around the area. Thanks geono for the cache.
Spending this unofficial 4 day weekend as a caching road trip through central NSW picking up a few unloved LGAs. We really enjoyed taking in the sights and feel of the country lifestyle. Thanks for contributing to our lovely weekend.TFTC
(3 of 6 today)Heading up to the Gold Coast, so decided to take advantage of the trip and grab some NSW LGAs for a challenge close to home. The long drive meant I went or Park & Grabs, and thankfully they were all in place and quickly found.Mind you, going through Guyra I realised I could increase my highest found cache - so I did! Finally stopped in Casino, where Ill pick up a find tomorrow. For now Im amazed Im still awake!###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###Interesting sculpture and a quick find makes for a fave from me.SLTNLNTFTC
Me and my younger brother (6) almost came close to calling it a day and coming back later until he found a new angle. Even found a trinket inside that we could swap for one of ours Thank you
I have a few days off and decided Ive never been to Walcha. So decided to change that and come and find a few caches.Stopped here on my way into town for a quick find.TFTC
Came to the outskirts of town for the cache and a waymark. Love all these large artworks too. A very clever hide, fav point from us. Enough room for a mini Feng Shui coin. TFTC
A neat hide, subtle but clever. Like that this is a robust cache likely to go the distance with being muggle proof and weather proof. This is the last for us in the town, time to head for another LGA.
Nice quick find. Stopped close by to make a cuppa and check out the sculpture.
Made for a quick find.
A quick ‘cache stop’ on our way from Goondawindi to Gloucester- heading south again.
Found as part of our 'north for warmer weather' trip from North East Victoria to Central Queensland, via Curtis Island! We have enjoyed the great variety of caches along the way. Thank you to all the COs who maintain them for us to enjoy.

Walcha helps with a crazy challenge in Brisbane… arriving with no expectations our whole morning was a pleasant surprise followed by delight after delight…
A nice quick find that we spotted on approach…

We made a detour down Thunderbolts before heading out to Tamworth, Samuel spotted this before he left the car.... those are some strong magnets, I think I nearly lost a finger replacing it!

While driving up to this one, I spotted it from the car. We got to this massive statue, making a quick find after eventually getting the container out of its hide with its super strong magnets.

On our way to Toowoon Bay from Warwick for an event on 22/2/22, stopping at Walcha on the way.
Last night, we completed the Adventure Lab, today finding the bonus cache.....What a fun cache and adventure in town. Cute but tricky hide. Would never have guess the end of this tale!
However, today, as we left town, thought we had better find another cache. We found the Black Cockatoo in the first place we looked. luckily, we had a TOTT which helped us gain access to the log... Thanks geono.....

Our last day in Walcha so we decided to head out in the car and find all those geocaches which are a little far to walk to. No trouble for us extracting the container today.

Checked today to see what the problem with the cache was. It should be easily accessible now.
We went to Walcha for a caching morning. A quick find was had at GZ, but container was not retrievable with the tools that we had.
We sent photo to CO of issue at hand and they have allowed us to log the find.
Many thanks for taking us to all of these sculptures.

The cache has a new container due to the broken clips on the previous one. The size has changed from small to micro.
Walcha certainly loves it wooden sculptures! A quick find was made here and then we headed back to the craft shop - came out with a print and some lovely marmalade. Thanks geono.
Out and about in Walcha, trying to find caches I have not found as yet, and this was one of them. A reasonably quick find. TFTC geono
Another interesting carving. It’s hard to imagine the work put into them. Thankyou for bringing us here.
A quick park and grab as we exit town. It was in the open so we recovered a little to at least pretend it’s ‘hidden’. TNLN TFTC
On a trip with teamMerlin and TARDIS 0061 into regional NSW a lot of kms were covered in a few days. Today we got to 13 caches found and a number of LGAs hadn't been to before

Roadtrip - home. Well "half" way. I decided to add a few counties to my count on the way home. I am not going to try and do them all - I would take days to get home. Just going to the ones that are close to my planned route.
Thanks for a nice easy quick find after a long drive.

Find #16 (26/6/2020) on a trip around to Maitland, Armidale and back with JessYoung96.
Easy find and saw it as soon as we walked up to the geocache.
The statue was a lot taller than we expected and I do love the 'WALCHA' writing on the wings.
Great location and TFTC.

Tamworth and Amrmidale Trip March 2020. Day 5. I headed north with Fitzy_1965 along the New England Highway towards Tamworth. Today we moved north to Armidale, but not in a straight line. The day was mostly roadside caches, but they were all of differing levels of challenges, especially when you have to deal with Farmers Friends and Stinging Nettles at almost every cache.
We spent a bit of time around Walcha visiting some great locations with some very good caches in them. I was impressed.
Thanks for the cache geono.

Day 5 of our trip. Packed up the rather wet campsite and headed out after breakfast for what turned out to be another big days caching. We aimed to cache our way up to Armidale. Next stop of the day, and we came up with a quick find. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then headed off to the next one.

Well that wasn't the welcome we were expecting! Where are the "wild rivers running" to start with!
If the name "Walcha" is aboriginal rather than Dutch then it just means "happy meeting place" - nearly all of the place names using aboriginal words mean that - I know 'cause I have been observing that over the many years of travelling this country [^].
Our first cache for the day after leaving PMQ at around 11.00am for a weekend trip to Uralla and Armidale - really looking forward to meeting up with our friends - Geono.

The artwork in Walcha is terrific and we are letting the caches lead us from one to the next. Another quick find was made here and all was in good order.
