The Adelaide Leap Day Mega and Canberra Geobash gave me a great excuse for a road trip. This trip has shown me so many new and interesting places as Ive chased LGAs, oldies, challenges, interesting D/T combinations, rarer cache types and favourites.Meeting up with friends old and new along the way, we sometimes cached with them and sometimes alone but always had a great time. Today we made our through North Western Victoria to St Arnaud where we unhitched the van to make it easier to complete this challenge series. A nice variety of achievable challenges, the hides were all easy to find especially with the hints provided. We enjoyed our time driving these roads as we went from cache to cache and will check if we qualify when we next get the chance. Thanks to the CO for placing and maintaining this cache and adding to our enjoyment.

My muggle partner and I are on a road trip towards Adelaide for the Great Leap Forward Mega. We are spending the night in St Arnaud after completing the Challenge series just out of town. I feel Im really living up to my caching name today weirdo as we have been out in 40C heat collecting these. The wind is howling and the dust was horrendous. Anyway, that is caching and its just good to be out and about. Lucky no wriggling sticks, as there were quite a few sightings the last time I was here. weirdobiker has used Project-GC Challenge Checker to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.. I really liked St Arnaud. Great caravan park as well as lots of interesting caches.Soooo many challenges, I was a little worried that the dirt roads would be impassable due to the rains. I was originally coming to St Arnaud first on the 26th, but the weather delayed my departure a day and I went the other way around, with Melbourne first & St Arnaud after. It seems about a quarter of my list of challenges to do got archived before I got here, but that still left a lot to do. Writing notes for now, will check qualifications for all of them later-----------------------------------------------------------------------------Found on a quick trip around Victoria to mop up all of the counties I was missing. Had my new swag so stayed in caravan parks so I could sleep while the car charged. Was at almost 100% charge every morning, and the nights camping cost about the same as a full charge at a supercharger anyway.

Spent a few hours concentrating on finding and signing the challenge caches around ST. Arnaud. Since we only had one full day in St Arnaud, we needed to pick and choose what challenge caches we would target. Would have loved to sign them all, but we’ll have to wait for our next trip.

Going back through my signed Challenges...

I put my mark in the log along with all the other Challenge caches there, while enjoying the full Mega experience in St. Arnaud.

It's taken me a while, working on the P81 grid, but the last two squares (both T5) were filled using a borrowed kayak on Christmas Eve, down in the Waterways, near Aspendale.

Funnily, after a whole lot of time during which it seemed that my caching friends cared more about getting my first loop than I did, I completed it alone... just in time to qualify for the challenge that n0w0rries published on Herring Island on New Year's Eve.

Thanks, mate, for that challenge to round out an epic caching year (and for all the help getting me there), and thanks, sharkiefan, for this incentive to aim higher.

Log signed in March 2023.. this is a challenge I once thought I would not achieve a few were achieved in non conventional ways eg: I walked the 4WD caches as I do not own a 4WD and quite frankly these tracks were bad I certainly would not have liked being a passenger...most memorable cache would have to be The Hunt for Red October highly recommend -most amusing cache thanks to the unexpected adventure would have to be Beachcombers retreat...read the log if you want a lol.
The following is my qualifying log

For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria

And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

Found and log signed. I have had my eye on these challenges ever since I was first introduced to challenge caching Razz. We decided to head out to St Arnaud this weekend, following the weather as everywhere else was expecting rain. Good old St Arnaud didn't let us down; the weather was glorious and there was green grass abound Razz.
We left Tatura at 0500hrs as we had all these challenges on our list, plus some choice mixed caches for 'ron. We steamed through these quicker than expected, so there were smiles all round Smile.
Thank you Sharkiefan for providing these challenges. Now all I have to do is work out which one's I qualify for, and what I have to do to qualify for the one's I don't Smile.

This cache was one of the challenges that I found while returning from a cousins wedding in Bendigo. However, it was one of the few that I found that I did not qualify for at the time, so, I signed my name to the log, logged it as a note, and have been working towards qualifying ever since. After much effort, this finally took place the other day as I found the last cache that I required and with that being the case, I am upgrading my log to a found.

I signed this log some time ago and I have been trying to qualify for this one for some time. I managed to fill in a couple of gaps earlier this year, however the D4/T5 still eluded me.
On an adventure last week I finally had the opportunity to fill the final gap, however we couldn't find the cache on the first attempt. At the end of the day we returned and tried again, and managed to locate it - WOO HOO!

I still have 2 gaps in my D/T grid to fill in but with all the T5 boxes filled, I finally qualify for this one. Thanks Sharkiefan for the challenge.

I have found this cache during the Victorian Mega or in the weeks leading up to or after the Mega 2019. Due to the very large volume of caches and very long hours both driving or geocaching, this is the first chance that I have had to Log all my finds,

THIS CACHE WAS FOUND WITH ZQX AND/OR LOCI612.

This Mega Event will go down as one of the best mega events ever. I swapped over 260 Pathtags, Bought Some Geocoins, Made some New Friends, Cached with Old Friends. I’m sad to see the Mega ending but I’m excited for my next adventure in The USA for the 2020 celebrations. Thanks for all the people who placed caches and sorry for the generic log for this cache, but with over 260 finds in the last few days it would be too hard to write a different one for each cache. A very big thank you to all the CO’s for your caches.

I have included one of the Geocaching poems that I have written. I hope that anyone reading it likes it.

Geocache Poem By DARKSIDEDAN
My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind
I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see
Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?
Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
Screaming the bloody thing it not there
As time flies by and I fail to see,
Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.

Hi there TeamStArnaud.

We found your cache **"Terrain 5 - All the difficulties Challenge"** today. (This makes our find count 24481).

Today we headed out from St Arnaud so we could attempt the Challenge series, plus any others we came across on our travels. We started at "The Northern Grampians Shire Challenge" & from there we proceeded to find caches until we had logged all the caches we qualify for. We thoroughly enjoyed today's cache finds, but please excuse our boilerplate logs - we know it's not really a good excuse, but we find it difficult to craft individual logs when we attempt so many similar caches in a day. [:(!]

We found 52 caches today & DNF'd 0. Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found most caches within a few metres of where our GPS said we should be looking. [:(!] (We did have to look a little further afield for some though). [:(!]
**Cache Condition:** The containers and log books were all in good shape.

School holidays are upon us so TeamClarmensma (myself and my kids AdamSistema & LukeSistema, and becca85 and her kids neisha07 & boo09) reformed for some St Arnaud fun. We didn’t have time to cache at the Mega so thought a day trip was in order. We tackled the challenges after lunch and I’m happy to say I qualify for this one (pic attached). Many thanks for the cache.

A school holiday adventure as Team Clarmensma (myself, GemmaSistema, Neisha07, Boo09, Ad & Luke), we decided to hit St Arnaud today. This series was our afternoon adventure and we got it done in good time.
Write Note only as I do not quite yet qualify for this one. TFTC

Our second full day of caching around St Arnaud. We are planning to finish the StARS and visit the challenge caches, picking up a few bonus hides along the way. Thank you Team StArnaud for all the well-thought out puzzles and the tour around the countryside, an amazing effort that we could not appreciate sooner.

While on a run with these Challenge Caches, we also found this and put our names in the log for the unlikely event that we might fulfill the challenge in the future. Thanks for the hide!
