Apologies for the generic logs, but individuals would be unmanageable!Today was set aside to make a start on the Dog's Head Loop. The puzzles had been solved quite some time ago so we were looking forward to turning them and the other caches into smilies. It was a great day for caching, clear skies, temperatures in the high teens and little or no wind. We didn't take the COs advice and work in a clockwise direction, but that was because we were starting out from Branxton and will be moving on to Maitland later. It is a fabulously organized series to date. Reasonable places to pull over in most instances, great sized caches with excellent hints and obvious regular maintenance. Congratulations and well done!We had a couple of DNFs and an enjoyable if busy day. More to come!Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache kingfisher_au.**SKI Pair****
We had this day planned for a month and had prayer all week for fine weather we could not had asked for better. Arriving at cache 1 about 9:30. We settle off KAZ444 had done some of those in 2 previous visits however I needed them all. We got a good system going and began tick of the caches we stopped the flow to do the AL in Paterson. Driving back to get the mystery bonus we saw another caches looking at stage 2. I tooted. We did have trouble finding the bonus and sure enough Mr Felixii caught up to us. We stopped for lunch and chatted and swapped Tbs. I must admit we felt like we were in The presents of Royalty once we heard they have over 40,000 caches. Wow We continue to run into them around the dog head. They stopped for the multi we didnt.I was in shocked when I read their log to hear they run into trouble. Just before 4 we ran into the cache were it is harder to park so after missing a few we decided to call it a day and drive back to Newcastle. We will return I still have 9 mystery to solve. Thank you for all your hard work placing this trail and maintaining it. All my logs will be the same except it I need to tell you about a problem which I will put first. Thanks.
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Well we set off for a drive in the countryside today. We noticed we were logging behind WRAACie & kaz444 on the same date. At Paterson we were doing the AdLab and a car tooted Mr Felix whilst he was collecting a stage so we thought there may be some cachers about. Sure enough we caught up at the AL bonus. We even swapped a few TB's Lovely to meet cachers out on the hunt. We then continued to see WRAACie and kaz444 at stops along our route. We got to #99 of the dogs head series and Mrs Felix said just 1 more before we head home. But of course things went awry as the car was on such a lean that she couldn't get back in and had to get Mr F to move to more level.... WET ground. OOps. Yep we were stuck, 4x4 back and forward digging up the verge. [B)] Mrs Felix name was mud, literally. Lucky for us a P-plater stopped in his Hilux and was able to snatch the GeoCruiser from the mess. The highlight of our day was the multi at St Annes Gresford and seeing that amazing bridge.TFTC kingfisher_au
A straightforward find here on my 4th visit to this part of the world. It seems I started this trail more than 4 years ago and was last here early last year but clearly, this is a trail that just keeps on giving! Thanks for this hide and for the series kingfisher_au.
Day 3 of our trip to The Great Cattle Dog Muster in Muswellbrook…
Having left my partner and our Australian Stumpy Tailed Cattle Dogs (which are sadly missing from The Dogs Head Trail) at the Muster, PirateLinda and I have made the pilgrimage to Frying Pan…
Now returning to Muswellbrook, collecting random, and not so random caches along the trail… I was surprised to see that we’re the first visitors here this year…
Happy to show this cache a little love today…
Thanks kingfisher_au

I had a nice day on this trail today. I found all but one cache, and I was aided by excellent co-ordinates on every one. Thank you for placing these caches and bringing me to this nice area. TFTC!
techsavvy9 and I met up for a great day out caching today . The weather was good and we had a really excellent time. We had worked on solving some of the dogs head puzzles together, so were keen to head out today to find some of those and a few others. Thanks for the cache kingfisher_au tnln replaced as found sl

Tftc found with earthly65 and Indigo blue ive never heard of this breed a favourite for making us laugh
Left Sydney with It’s_Dozzie and GeoMonkeyGirl then met with EverestHigh to tackle the Dog’s Head Trail.
I absolutely love dogs ! Large, small, young, old, I love them all. I’ve worked with dogs, volunteered with dogs, had close to 50 as foster pets, plus a few as permanent family members too. All different breeds and all wonderful.
There’s still a few breeds on this trail that I didn’t know.
Such a fun power trail, if the caching wasn’t enough to keep me entertained the dog photos certainly were.

Today was our first chance to find some caches with the lifting of the pandemic lockdown, so decided on a good old drive in the country to chase some more strays, catching 50 before we decided to call it a day. What a great way to say goodbye to a lockdown! Near cyclonic wind gusts made for some nervous moments under lots of big gums....
Again, thanks for all the hard work you put in to this fun trail kingfisher!

Today I spent my second day on the Dog’s Head caches. Day one was 8 months ago. Today I found 62-100 and all puzzle caches ( eye of the dog). The weather was perfect. Thankyou Kingfisher_au for placing and maintaining the Dog’s Head. I especially thankyou for the puzzles , I really enjoyed them. I hope it won’t be 8 months until I get back.
Now that i got internet i can start logging again. Found it even without internet
In the area for work but having a day off so targeting some of this trail. My finds are a bit patchwork due to the long grass, my foot attire of choice and roadworks. After an average but acceptable vego burger in East Gresford it was time to continue on this trail. I was glad to find a good park here as 2 large quarry trucks barreled past at a great rate of knots. tftc
Second stage of the dogs head trail and this time we are teamed up with PPrass. Having a great time being camped nearby. Had to do cut and paste posts but some individual posts where needed. Signed as CP
Thank you kingfisher_au we found your geocache at 9:58 a.m. on the 26 November 2020. This is #6187 for us.

As we were staying in Maitland with a bunch of cachng friends and coongoola wanted to do this series, we decided to join them for the second half that we hadn't done when we were here in October 2019.

Found with My Dad (DJANT) and my Brothers (dart16 & Jedi Anakin) I have my own account now and am trying to catch up to the boys Thanks for the cache.
Found with Shaneo58's help doing some caching around the Branxton area mainly on the dog trail. It was good that most caches weren't to far from the car as the tempretures was in the high twenties, even tough this wasn't always the best (to close to the road).

Attempting to complete this awesome trail over a few days for my 60th Birthday Week. Such an awesome trail, can’t believe how much work has been put into having this available for us to do! I feel bad placing a cut and paste log, but after a fullish day of birthday caching, I can’t see me logging all of them in one night! Thanks Kingfisher!
Well 2020 has been a relatively slow year on the caching front due to COVID-19. If it wasn't for that it would have been a trip to the USA and Geocaching's 20th year celebrations.
However the crew got back together and The Rats, Hoojar and I teamed up for a few days caching up around the Hunter area. First it was to finish off some of the older OZGM series caches then up into the Watagans for more. Most of Saturday was spent tackling the great Dogs Head Trail then on Sunday it was down into Newcastle city for some great caches.
This was another find on our trip.

COVID has really put a dampener on this year’s caching ability, but it hasn't stopped my enthusiasm to get out and find a cache whenever possible. So, it was with excitement that I was keen to catch up with Steeba and Hoojar for our first caching weekend of the year.
We targeted a number of powertrails in the Central Coast and Hunter region over our 3-day caching frenzy. The weekend threw up a bit of everything, including a plethora of finds, mountain bush bashing, coastal caching, weather that varied from beautiful to bizarre, sleeping under the stars, some close calls with the flora and fauna, lovely local hospitality and most of all, a great time away with my mates”.
Thanks to all the C.O’s for placing and maintaining their caches for us to find. Apologises for the generic log but with so many finds I couldn’t personalise every one of them.
After a chilly night and another early start we tackled our biggest day, the “Dog’s Head” trail north of Maitland saw us meandering through the picturesque countryside. It was here we found some cleverly crafted containers which added to a great day. By time nightfall we’d met up with Big Matt & MV for a lovely meal at the Paterson Hotel.
Thanks

With restrictions starting to ease in our Covid World, it was decided that 2020 caching really need to kick up a gear, and so a plan was set in motion for The Rats, Steeba and myself to head to the Newcastle and Hunter region. There were a few trails, power trails, and Lab Caches that would be hitting our radars, along with a milestone for The Rats. We headed off on Thursday evening and turned for jome on Sunday afternoon. A wonderful long weekend was had, and our cache finds topped 450 for the trip. All in all it was a great success.
The caches were excellent. Some indeed were amazing, and favourite points have been awarded. The company, as always, was faultless. The weather was varied. We had sun, rain, wind, colder, warm, more wind... A bit of everything! We managed to find a few nice spots to camp, and enjoyed the company of Big Matt and Marcus Vitruvius for dinner at a local establishment on Saturday evening.
Please forgive the boiler-plate log, I assure you it is no reflection on the caching experience of our few days away. Thank you to all cache owners for their hides.
Cheers

We had been caching around Kurri Kurri and Maitland but before heading home decided to pat the dog's head for a while. Unfortunately the GPS and mobile were out of juice so we had to stop earlier than we wanted. This was our first for the day, thanks for the hide.
I have to admit I’m more of a cat person than a lover of dogs but today I set out from Port Macquarie to find the dogs head trail. Who knew there were so many breeds?! What a picture perfect, gorgeous day to be out caching. Paddocks were full of calves, lambs and baby goats, with stunning mountain backdrops. A good mix of hide locations in all sorts of containers made the trail interesting. Finding suitable parking on the side of narrow roads with 100km/h speed zones not so fun. Attacked 1-110 and the mystery eyes today, so will return another day to finish the trail. Thanks kingfisher_au
Came up to the Hunter with MummyPenny and the hound for a bit of caching around the dog's head. Started at the top where we picked up lunch for a stop later, down the road. Enjoyed the stops on this warm winter day. Thanks kingfisher_au.

I was in desperate need to get away this weekend for some quiet and stress free time for myself, so I decided to go for a long drive up here to grab some select caches and camp out in the Barrington Tops NP. Just myself, my coffee and a small stash of food, with a bit oif rain... and sleep in the back of my Xtrail... should be a relaxing time...
Only to get rear-ended by a young driver on a quiet country road!
While my car was still drivable, the rear hatch-door was jammed shut. I was determined to keep my Zen state of mind and still go camping (It was a 4hr drive back home). I'd just have to climb in by the rear passenger door.
It got dark, so at the campground I made a hot drink, had dinner and read a bit before going to sleep earlier than usual. So I naturally woke up after my normal hours of sleep AT 3AM! TOO EARLY TO CACHE OR DO ANYTHING!
Hours later when the sun started to rise I continue my caching run. All was good for a few hours... and then I noticed my left-rear tyre go flat! My spare is beneath the luggage floor, beneath 2 drawers FULL of heavy camping gear, all of which I had to remove through the rear passenger door!
Fast forward a bit, the spare tyre on the car, the flat one back in the car, with all the rest of my stuff, and then I noticed my front one was flat AS WELL! No second spare!
The closest town 20km away, no tyre change store open until Monday, I could only try and keep it inflated with my little foot pump and top it up where-ever safe to stop, for the 300Km drive home.
Got home safely, despite heavy rain for the last hour and emptied out my car to get ready for the repairs.
AFTER ALL THAT I STILL KEPT MY COOL!
BUT THIS WASN'T WHAT I CALL A RELAXING WEEKEND!
Thanks for the caches.

I joined a trip to Maitland with Aquilus1, dty73, Tankengine, Barb2e, Kitty Katch & Joolay. The weekends main game was to do the dogs head series, but along the way we did some old caches around Sydney and did as many Maitland caches as time allowed. The return journey was via some old caches and some challenges that may or may not be met one day.
Day 2 was the dogs head series and three other series around Kurri Kurri. The R&D caches and many other Maitland caches are absolutely fantastic containers showing great creativity with new tools.

A four day caching trip up around Maitland collecting a number of caches of interest to suit everyone along for the fun. A lovely area, very scenic, green and lots of historic locations. Also some great caching to be done while in the area as well as on our way there and home.
The 'Dogs head' was a main focus of the trip, and took us the the best part of the day along with a few smaller trails and a few as we passed but a lovely scenic area to spend the day in. Most caches were straight forward finds, a few took a little search and others are great 3D printed designs or LARGE! Great trail through a great area, thanks for the cache kingfisher_au.

TFTC,
I joined Liz and Bruce & Nana nel for 2 days caching around the area. Our primary goal was to complete the Dogs Head Trail but there are plenty of other caches to try and complete across several towns.
Great to have such a variety of caches.
Thanks to Kingfisher_au for providing a trail where we could work together with other cachers and enjoy each others company while building numbers and learning about so many different breeds.

Caching on the Dog Head series, today with Liz and Bruce & Wazza9, quick find, great hints, I never knew there was so many breeds of dogs, 179 finds for the day, during the day Liz & Bruce completed there 59,000 find and I achieved 9,000 finds. Stamped log and replaced. Thanks to kingfisher_au. Great series.
We camped at the rest area in Branxton with wazza9 and Nana Nel and ventured on this trail together. We did the majority on day one which proved to be a good move as the rain came in for day 2. We enjoyed the hides and information about the various dogs, great job on putting out this trail. Thanks to kingfisher_au for hiding this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Gorgeous day adventuring in the upper Hunter.
50 caches and a huntsman found!
Enjoyed lunch at the beautiful Vacy.
Especially loved having a chuckle at some of the hints- what would we do without this cache hiding structures from RMS? Lol

We learnt about the 'Dogs Head Trail' as one of our TB's was placed into a cache on the trail. After seeing it we just had to come and do it. Who knew that there is so many types of dog. The senery in the area is fabulous, we saw loads of cows and horses but not much else in the way of animal life. Now for the caches
Roads - Very busy
Farmers - friendly and interested
Co-ordinates - Really great
Hints - we used these and had a laugh at the humour that was used, it certainly kept you interested
Hides - Easy - loved the camo tape it really helps the cache containers to blend in and if the CO had wanted to these could have been hidden a lot harder
Parking - Great, OK, not so great and down right horrible. In saying this the cache owner does tell you when you need to be aware in the hints. It just means that you will get a little more exercise walking to the cache from a safe parking spot. The CO is looking after you and making certain you get your exercise. You may need to climb, either up or down, to reach the cache. You may choose to climb down when you do not need to this is, it is all up to the indiviual.
A huge thanks to the CO, what a massive job this would have been to find the places to hide the caches, sort co-ords, write the cache discriptions and now to maintain them. You asked us to leave a favorite for the dog that we feel is our most liked type of dog, for me it is the german shepherd and for hubby it is the bull mastiff.

Got up early to do this series today. Needed to eventually download for offline use which is why we have now done these bulk logs. We ran out of reception pretty quick and hadn't thought of it. This is a lovely and easy series. Love it, thank you so much! Recommended to all geocachers new or experienced.
Great day out to try the Dogs Head Trail. Not too much traffic on the road and managed to find OK parking - at least for the caches I found today. Have thoroughly enjoyed all the information on the dogs and will use these as a great reference for dog information from now on. Tftc
The Dogs Head Trail was our main focus for today with goingplaces2. Caches were easy to find, logs had some more initials added and we had a fun day of caching. Thanks for this series.
While camping in the district, we came along here to tackle this Dogs Head Trail series, along with ilook4geo. There are so many dogs named in these caches that we have never heard of before.
So today we started to pick up the caches in the recommended direction. Each found log was signed and all caches were in very good order. The finds were easy enough and all cache containers were put back into place before we moved on to the next one.
Thanks go to kingfisher_au for this great geo art and for the puzzles involved in the Eye caches.
They were challenging and a lot of fun.

Dog’s Head has now become one of my new favourite trails!! So much creativity and diversity throughout. Thank you so much kingfisher_au for your time, energy and resources.
Tackled the trail (and some smaller surrounding ones) as part team Capital Crunchers (fitzy_1965, minniek, specimenX, Nibletricecakes, Joolay and Roostaman) on our Maitland long weekend adventure. So glad we made the trek it has been truly delightful! As an added bonus we all hit a milestone (mine being 3000) AND racked up the most number of finds we have ever found in a day!! 310! An all round epic adventure. Thanks so much everyone.

Headed to the Maitland area with fitzy_1965 & SpecimenX for an extra long weekend of caching.
Day 2 saw us joined by nibletricecakes, Joolay & even Roostaman (who happened to be staying in the same campground as us by chance). Dogs Head Trail was our main aim with others collected along the way.
All caches where found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned. Logs were either signed or stamped as Capital Crunchers, CC, Kapital Krunchers or KK.

A cloudy Spring day for a drive around the Dogs Head trail with the Canberra crew.
We had a great big day and found all the caches and a few others as well.
Many muggles on the roads today and many good hides.
Logs signed or stamped as Canberra Crushers, CC and sometimes KK.
Thanks for the cache and the excellent series kingfisher_au,

18,872. Found as part of the Capital Crunchers Team (fitzy_1965, minniek, specimenX, nibletricecakes, Joolay and Roostaman) during the Canberra Invasion of Maitland region over the long weekend.
This was the main event. We were really looking forward to doing the Dog's Head Trail as well as the smaller trails in the region. We had an absolutely epic day of caching, with all of us setting milestone and achieving a new finds in a day record (310). All of the caches were found in good condition, signed and returned into its hidey hole. The 3D printed containers were a real highlight as well - fantastic effort by the CO.
Thanks kingfisher_au !! We really appreciate you putting out and maintaining these caches.

Time for us to hit the Dogs Head Trail! An enjoyable drive around the trail collecting the caches and marveling at the 3D printed creations which were easy finds resulted in an epic day of caching. Signed or stamped as Capital Crunchers, CC or KK (for some early finds) to save log space.
Thanks for the hide, kingfisher_au

This is an awesome trail. Sometimes the parking left me wondering but it was later explained that some were meant to be walked too. The effort in this trail is huge and a big thanks to the big effort in setting this up.
Up in Maitland with Nibletricecakes, Fitzy1965, MinnieK and Specimen X, to do the Dogs Head. We will go by the name of Capital Crunchers. We have also met up with Roosterman who is joining us today. Really looking forward to the challenge and getting the geoart today. Unless otherwise stated cache in good condition. Thanks for the huge effort in placing these.
Our logs are signed CC, KK, Capital Crunchers or stamped depending who wrote them.
Apologies for the generic logs.

G'Day My Fellow Geocacher,
How are you my fellow Geocacher? I’m DARKSIDEDAN aka Daniel from Canberra, Australia and I have had the pleasure of finding your Geocache during my travels as a Geocacher. I signed the logbook in your cache either Darksidedan or Darkside or DSD. This was one epic series and I thank you for placing as well as maintaining this epic trail. I have added your cache to my growing list of “Found It” logs. Please forgive the Generic Logs for this Series.
I love discovering Geocaches, Trackable items and collecting Pathtags. I hope that you enjoy Geocaching as much as I do. For me geocaching is a way of life and when I am not Geocaching, I am thinking of Geocaching.
Here is a little information about me. I have been geocaching since 2015. At the time of finding this cache I have over 6000 finds plus 350 hides. I am the creator of the “Duck Dip” Lab Cache that won 2nd Place for the Australian Capital Territory in the State Vs State - Battle of the Lab Caches at the OzGeoMuster - The Gong Mega 2019 in Wollongong, Australia. In 2019, I won the right to place a Virtual 2.0 Cache from Geocaching.com, but I have not placed it yet. I am just trying to find somewhere that is worthy of a Virtual Cache.
Now let’s talk Pathtags. Currently I have over 4600 Pathtags in my collection plus about 500 Etagz. I currently have two of my own Pathtags (45762 & 46950) with another one in the works.
I have included with my Found It log an Original and One of a Kind, Geocaching poem that I have written. I hope that everyone who reads it gets some enjoyment out of it.

Geocache Poem by DARKSIDEDAN
My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind
I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see
Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?
Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
Screaming the bloody thing it not there
As time flies by and I fail to see,
Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.

I am currently writing very detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC called "The Author". This Badge challenges geocaches to write logs with an average length of more than one hundred words per log. As of the 25th September 2019 my average Found It log is 165 words per log. I would like to get all my logs up to more than 200 words per log but I will have to wait and see how I go. Currently I am just trying to get my average up by finding and logging as many geocaches as I can. My apologies to anyone who finds my lengthy logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain the highest level with this challenge. After more than 6,000 geocaches (which includes all cache finds up and including this cache, I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task very soon. Progress has been better than anticipated.

Another day of fun driving / walking around the area with woolwood9.
*More good caches found along the way* **TFTC**
Stamped logs as TM/WW NZ or our full user names or tm421/ww9 in pen.
What an awesome trail of excellent hides and wonderful cache containers / holders.
This was a major focus of our geocaching holiday of 3 weeks and we were certainly not disappointed.
Today did from #24 to #148
Caches found in excellent shape - only issues in this area were: #35 Gone with road works. #83 Container damaged.
I had only solved some of the puzzles so most of them were not able to be found by us.
Thank you for all your effort kingfisher_au

On our way to QOGM (Blackall) day 5 of our trip. 4 caches for the day, and 130 for the trip. TFTC
Found with delloro on Day 2 of our a trip to the Hunter. Another easy find along this excellent trail. TFTC
I wouldn't stand under one of these if it was sitting in a tree. No siree. Thanks kingfisher
Reperio at 1625.
With the afternoon free to get out and do a bit of caching, I grabbed the youngest and headed back out to this series to tick off the remaining caches for the Mystery At The Museum challenge.
Having been out here last weekend, I required another 16 caches to complete the souvenir challenge, but once they were found, the youngest kept asking for one more, and we finished with 23. Still plenty to go in this series, so no doubt we will be back out soon.
Gratias kingfisher_au.

The dog trail was achieved today with The_Tritonz working as a team we knocked over the entire series having a blast the whole way around. Lunching at Gresford, we refueled our bodies and continued on our way. We even done mini CITO’s near the caches as we signed the logs.
Thanks kingfisher_au for the Dog Head Series.
Thanks kingfisher_au for the Dog Head Series.
While up in NSW on holidays enjoying a fun Lighthouse Mega, we headed further North to catch up with family and try our luck with the Dog Series, one that we have had our eye on since publication.
The puzzles were solved without much fuss except for one and boy did that do our head in....lucky for the kind CO who put us out of our misery allowing for a 100% success rate today as we tackled them head on in the company of Tack123.
Thanks kingfisher_au for the awesome effort in putting this series together, we had a blast today/tonight.
