Collecting a few caches while spending an extended weekend at Crows Nest mixing up cycling and caching.
Youll be pleased to know that Im finally going to get my 1000 up this morning, this is 999 & your grandson got a collectable. RIP Donna
We left Brisbane just after 10am yesterday to meet up with my wife’s friend at a cafe in Toowoomba before heading to lunch at myrtille at crows nest with family who live on land near by.
Spent the night nursing poddy calf’s and Roos and consuming a few beverages.in the morning found a few hours to work on a challenge to have on the radar
Found a safe spot to park the car and headed to ground zero to claims find. Located the cache and put my name into the log and replaced it safely back into its hiding spot
Returned to the car and leaded off to pick up a few more before a lovely lunch.
A big thanks to the cache owner for placing the cache and making it available to be found.
Cheers

A plan was formed recently to camp at Oakey over the October long weekend (due to Ekka being postponed) and tackle the art and a number of fun puzzles in the vicinity. The call went out to a few others we enjoy travelling with and the solving began! Lots of back and forth between members and we finally had a full set a few days out from the trip.
The roads were wet and muddy but that isn't going to stop a group of dedicated geocachers on a mission! The rain held off which we were grateful for however chunks of mud were often shaken off shoes before returning to cars and moving on to the next one.
As is always the case when caching with others there were many laughs and a great time had by all. Always a great sense of achievement when you've been working through a project over a number of weeks.
Thankyou for placing and arranging this series for our enjoyment. The fields and flowers were in bloom. Birds a plenty enjoying the roadside water sources. The scenery was refreshing. Always enjoy a taste of the countryside. Logs signed as Team Grav (as in Gravel assault!)

Day two of my three day weekend of caching. A later start than normal for me as we had a team of cachers ready to take the fields today. To reduce the amount of cars on the road, Charli and I got to jump in with Domsky and Esmiley. This was a fantastic time and a memorable one, I got to have a lot of fun today. Not just with my caching buddies but some good quality time with my little girl, before she drops the geocaching thing.
We set off and just drove all day; there were hills that gave us some great scenery and crop fields. Some beautiful country roads and a variety of animals to see, yes a variety, cows, horses, lizards, frogs, an echidnae, a Clydesdale horse (striking), sheep, kangaroos, wallabies, birds and a black cockatoo. Two stand outs would have been the Clydesdale and the echidnae.
The caches today varied in size and with some really nice and clever hides. The regular and large containers kept Charli busy while we signed the logs. It was just a great day out some really good company.
This cache was an easy find. We singed the log as team GRAV, rather than writing 10 names in it. Thank you for placing it here.

After a busy day, caching around Cooyar & Crows Nest, we decided to stay overnight in a pet friendly cabin at Crows Nest Caravan Park.
Morning has arrived so back to business.
#4 of 24 found today.
Mrs VC spotted the container (IPS) from the opposite side of the road as we pulled up!
Made our mark & replaced out of sight of the road, added a little camo..

Goombungee Day 2
Camp at the Goombungee showgrounds for a couple of days.
Todays trip was into Highfield out to Cooby Dam & return.
After 5 caches we realised we had a flat tyre so had to make a detour to have a puncture repaired.
We travelled to many new & interesting places, many dirt roads again today.
Thanks for placing this amazing series HippyDonna

Attempting to fill in some calendar days, so drove out after work. Didn’t take long to find the cache. Replaced as found. Was getting back in the car when a friendly neighbour pulled up and asked if I was ok! Tftc
Up in Crow Nests for Christmas with the family. Had slow start today opening present with the kids. I am still recovering from my fall two days ago. Have a big black eye. It keep swelling up and can’t open my eye. So very hard to drive. Took half a day of icing to get the swelling down. Finally got out today and got 10 caches.
And two for a challenge so all happy.
Sorry for the generic post.
Cache a day to keep the doctor away, or is it to keep me sane. No it’s to keep my streak alive. TFTC HippyDonna *385* streak. *2276* Finds

**# 25554** Found on our 2019 winter escape trip to Qld with Mrs Roosta.
A perfect Spring day for a drive to Crows Nest while at Toowoomba.
Hardly any muggles around and mostly good safe hides.
I found this one about 11m away on the other side of the road.
Thanks for the cache HippyDonna,

Looking around so many places but nothing resorted to activity log -confirmed coordinates out and across road. Sure enough found it quickly then.
After a finishing up at the 2019 Rural Safari event, IolantheK and I did a "bit" of caching on our return trip to Brisbane via Toowoomba. [^]

T-Tech and I have spent the weekend in Crows Nest attending Xixau & Shenzi's Rural Safari 2019. Today we are gathering caches in the area before heading back to Brisbane this evening.
I was hoping to discover a random pine tree here, but as the Description says, I'll have to make do with the Aussie trees. I made a quick find. TFTC, HippyDonna.

After scrambling all over the high side, I tried the low side and found it at S27*22.810 E151*59.909 according to my Garmin GPSr. All in good order here
We looked on the wrong side of the road but then spotted a more likely hiding spot. TFTC HippyDonna
Our second day in Toowoomba and we are heading north of town and also searching for a couple of multis. Enjoyed visiting such a variety of places and cache placements. Thanks to all the COs for your time and effort in placing these caches and showing us your lovely area.
We are in Toowoomba early for Brother Colin’s event in Oakey on Sunday. It was such a wonderful day to be out geocaching and this was a cache we targeted. With good co-ords it was a quick find. Thanks for placing it HippyDonna for us and others to find.
Cheers and happy caching!

A visit to Toowoomba was planned with Slow Puncture so we could grab the new adventure labs, challenges, solved puzzles and a variety of other caches scattered along the way.
SP was rather busy on the phone organising the imminent delivery of their new geovehicle, so I made the grab. All good here.

Log signed at 10:41 and cache returned as found . Thanks for the experience and the smilie **HippyDonna**

Monday. Out with Orange Crew for a day of caches and freezing cold winds! Annoyingly, with having found around 30 caches today, when I came to log this one, even after looking at the map - and reading other logs, I cannot picture it [xx(] Rest assured however, find it, we did!
This was the 13th of 31 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***HippyDonna***, for showing us this place.

Out and about with Eskies5 filling in calendar spots on an early morning. Started searching in all the wrong places until Eskies5 came up with the find in a spot I hadn't got to. TFTC Hippy Donna
After a very full caching weekend Kestal and I were stuffed but the calendar was calling and thankfully we both needed a find today to motivate us otherwise I know for myself I could have easily have left it! An early morning drive and a relatively quick find once we changed sides of the road. TFTC HippyDonna.
S27 22.810 E151 59.909 Was where my GPSr indicated the GZ was.
I had arranged to meet Caro ( of Jess & Caro) at 0900 and we went together in the Blue Beast to journey to the outstanding hides needing golden smileys on out stats. Drove out to the Dam and started at the far end and worked our way back. Having left the dam drove past this one on the highway and wet to Carbalah to get the one there that Caro required. This done now to drive back to this one.
This was the last one for the day/morning. Arrived close and parked safe and made our way towards GZ. Could not see it on this side of the road and I was standing at 0 meters to go. Caro walked across the road to a certain tree and had soon spied the cache. Now to drive back to Crows nest and drop Caro home and for me to head back to Nanango and be there by 1230hours which I achieved. Left home at 0700 and home at 1225hours.

Arriving near GZ both of our devices had us on one side of the road so I had a quick look at some obvious spots but no joy. Looking across the road there was an appealing looking non-pinus longaeva so I hopped on over for a looksee and sure enough, there it was! Thanks for the cache, HippyDonna.
Another day, another cache to find to top up a date on my calendar.
My second find for the day.
Thanks for the cache.
