Hunby had to drop the bike off to otaki for some work so I followed in the car and then we grabbed some caches before heading home, thanks for the placement, so lucky with lovely weather.

A pleasant walk to GZ, an unpleasant retrieval once spotted. Needed boxthorn scratching my skull like I need a hole in the head...!

Nice quick find using the hint. We don't usually see hides on the downhill side of tracks, but I could see why it was the best option in this case. TFTC.

Why, oh why, did I walk here instead bringing the bike like a normal person? Part of the reason is that I came from the East Harbour entrance and I mis-remembered how bikable the road was to here. I remember sand but that must be further south. I had to climb up and down some hills before getting to this cache but stashing a bike and walking that bit would have been a better plan.

I came to this from "Promises, Promises" which was quite a long roundabout path to a destination "just across the lake". After unexpectedly walking past several places I had imagined this might be I found myself nowhere in particular when ground zero came up. Went to the hint immediately which thankfully has a side constraint. Then I quickly spotted a flash of blue figuratively smiling from the depths of a bush. Presumably a very deliberate placement to give that effect and hence the title. Figured out how to get down to it, fished out the actual smurf and was soon signing the log therein. Thanks for the cache which was placed better than it first appears.

And now I have something like a 5k walk back to the car. That'll be fun. (It wasn't!).

A lovely sunny day for a geocaching mountain bike jaunt around these tracks today. Slightly windy! The trail was getting a bit interesting for the biking up this hill. Luckily we had the place to ourselves because it took us a while to find. Cache is all good. TFTC

(# 6954) Today was a small walk (?) to Pencarrow Heads and the Parangarahu Lakes area to get caches that were waiting for me to retrieve. A quick find. Thanks for bringing me here.

Tftc, nice place for a cache, not too hard to find.

Out for a bike ride so a good opportunity to clean up a few caches that have appeared since I was last out this way.

This was one cache I wanted to get today on my enjoyable stroll around this beautiful area. It didn't take me long to find the bright blue that wouldn't be a challenge to spot even for the most colour-blind of cachers. After taking care of teh paperwork, a smiling brucewwnz then headed to the next cache site.

Found on a bike ride around to the lake for lunch. We did like the container, rather cute. TFTC

20 October 2019 14:55. As I was so close today I could not leave the area without going for this one.

Huffed and puffed my way up the hill with the bike, then dropped it at the brow of the hill and walked the last 40 m down, muttering words I normally use for Leprechaun caches! No luck at the first place the phone suggested, surely the CO would not have hidden this in the gorse? Than the satellites shifted and a new location was indicated, and I was rewarded with a telltale flash of blue...

Now to huff and puff my way back to the car, in an increasingly fresh northerly, oh the things we do for fun? Tftc.

Great find while out biking some tracks around the lake. Lovely area on a fine day. Thanks for placing the cache here. Contents all good.

2nd of 2 newer caches we found on the way back from a ride to the Baring Head lighthouse. We normally do the anticlockwise circuit but went the other way today to grab the cache which was nicely secured and dry.

Easy as Just follow the flattened grass trail! Found during an anti-clockwise MTB ride on the Kohangapiripiri Track Thanks GSEL

A perfect fine day with light winds - just right for getting a bit of exercise on my bike. Rode down from Burdans Gate and passed a TV film crew doing a shoot right near the somewhat smelly sewer outfall. There was even a Police car there so I’m not sure exactly what was supposed to be going on. Approached the cache around the side of the lake and found it in the second place checked. As usual for GSEL’s caches, the coordinates were dead accurate for me. Signed log, TFTC.

WOW another {FTF} Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin (08:40). Was at home on the computer doing some paperwork, and spotted a new cache was just published, had a look at it and soon realised where this cache was, I have being meaning to come back out here for quite some time as there are a few caches out here that I need to pick up, but I knew that my time was very limited on this trip so I decided that I would just limit my search and finds to a few caches on this visit.

Making my way out to this area, having being here quite a few times now, I decided that I would get out here early and get a good safe parking spot, and as I arrived in the closest car park to the walkway I noticed that there was only a single vehicle at the car park, and I was able to find a safe parking spot very easily.

Managed to gather all my gear and placed my GPSr on the bike to find that all my caches hadnt loaded Twisted[:(!]Surprised, boy I love it when this happens SurprisedTwisted. As luck would have it I had all the caches that I wanted to find on my phone and decided that the rest would have to wait. Managed to transfer all the co-ordinates that were required and then it was just a matter of making my way to GZ.

Once I got moving, I soon realised that I had a tail wind [:o)][^], this was great, but only for going out, coming back to the car was going to be interesting, especially if the wind picks ups, as it does sometimes Surprised[xx(]. Decided that I would ride to the path that would take me up to the lighthouse, and was very impresses that I was making good time, the road was in great conditions, and the ride was up to speeds of 30K, I knew this was going to hurt on the way back, but that can wait[xx(].

Finally arriving at the path that would take me up to the lighthouse, there were a few cyclist on the track, but very few, decided to push the bike up to the junction and then make a decision once there. Once I got to the junction, I decided that I might as well go for the FTF first and come back to the lighthouse later as I would be gutted if I missed the FTF by 2 minutes because I took a detour.

Finally arriving at near GZ, it was time to go and look for the cache, I decided to read the hint and soon decided where to go and look for this cache and after a short search I soon spotted something and upon a closer look I soon spotted something and soon realised that it was the cache.

Managed to retrieve the cache, opened to find a pristine logbook signed and then replaced the cache back where I found it. Thanks GSEL for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (14409). Yeetrees FTF craze also decided to visit GZ as well.

After taking a few more minutes to reflect on the situation and then have a chat with a muggle it was time to make my way back up the path and go looking for another cache SurprisedRed Face......
