We are in Wellington for a few days. We walk through the streets, stroll along the promenade, ride the cable car and visit the botanical gardens. We follow the lab caches, which often lead us to unusual places. Unfortunately, we have to leave some traditional caches without logging them because there are often too many muggles watching. We visit many places in Wellington and enjoy the breaks with a delicious coffee. The answers are sent. Many thanks to all the owners and greetings from the Moorhelmi

Nice stop on a walk around the cbd. Amused by the phone-using muse on one of the panels... which, now that i think about it, is probably not as inaccurate as I thought.

EN : before meeting up with our travel companions, we take a walk around the hotel. We are looking for labs and caches. Thank you to all the installers for the work carried out for our greatest pleasure. Greetings from France. Our Travel Bugs pass through this cache but do not come out of our backpack; they continue the adventure with us. Trip to New Zealand decided very quickly , but that did not stop us from preparing a small file of caches to search, as far as possible. The GC46 is, of course, at the top of this list! Our program should allow us to discover a large part of this country.FR : avant de retrouver nos compagnons de voyage, nous faisons une balade autour de l'htel. Another friggin' cold day - last Thursday was so lovely! Passing through town to drop one of the kids off. Have noticed this statue dozens of times over the years, while driving by, so nice to have a reason to park up and have a good look at it.They knew how to make statues in those days, didn't they? Considering the size, weight, and the limitations of tools and technology, there were some very skilled people about and I suspect some of those skills are now lost forever. If this is a replica made in Portsmouth, it must have been shipped over here? If so, another massive accomplishment. Moving it anywhere at all would be really, it must weigh tonnes.TFT Virtual taybee

I've been on a Roadtrip through New Zealand together with steffixx. Here in Wellington, we met cuxijoy and together we went for some geocaching - and this was one of the caches we found... After counting the many faces, we took our picture together with the Queen and continued our walk through this interesting city. Thank you, taybee, for working our this Virtual Cache about Queen Victoria here on site, sharing the information about the monuments history and showing us this place! Without the cache, we wouldn't have stopped here... After hosting my event outside Te Papa, I met up with my geowidow in the museum & we spent a good while looking around several exhibitions. Then we split up for me to visit some caches.Having found my main targets for the day, I meandered my way back to our hotel via a couple of outlying caches. This was the next & it took me a few goes to count the small faces in the gathering gloom but hopefully I nailed it. I have sent my answers to the CO & attached the requisite photo.Found at 17:00Cache #10455TFTC taybee

I left my room just before dark to get some caches before the event I was hosting. Traffic was flowing but I managed to stay out of the way of any cars. LOL This cache was my first stop. I should have maybe left a little later so I didn't have to get as close to the monument, but I was able to get the answers I needed and send them to the CO. Thank you for the smiley and the fun! The day:Today continued my week-long adventure solo on the North Island. I started out early so I could get as much in as possible before darkness fell. I found caches, met so local cachers, walked for miles, and drove for many more. It was another grand day. Many thanks to all the geocachers who placed and continue to maintain their geocaches for folks like me to find. I know it's not always easy, but know that you are appreciated.

Third day in New Zealand ??. This is my first visit to this extraordinary country and the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream. In the past, it always failed due to the lack of a travel companion. Now I had the chance to join a large group of mainly German geocachers and I was delighted to take it. After a stopover in Qatar and 8 days in Australia, our journey continued from Auckland to Queenstown with various stopovers. After arriving in Wellington and checking into the hotel, there was still enough time to explore the city. This virtual was very important to me, as I was missing a ghost ?? with a Q in its name ??. The letter is not used so often in German and is therefore difficult to find. The statue is very impressive. It was already dark when we set about answering the questions. Counting in particular was a challenge that we hopefully mastered ??. I sent my answers to the owner via Message Center and the log release came quick.Thank you for laying & taking care Smile.Dritter Tag in Neuseeland ??.

The last cache in the south was the virtual at the airport. I really liked the South Island and I definitely didn't have time to visit everything, so maybe I'll come back sometime. After arriving at the northern island in Wellington, I picked up another car and drove to the hills above the city to get a few cache. I couldn't miss this old cache on a nice view of the city. The strong wind is not the most pleasant, but otherwise it was beautiful here. And I also caught a light tradi nearby. After lunch and a rest at the guesthouse, I went for a short walk in the evening and found a few more easy caches. Thanks for the cache and greetings from the Czech Republic.

**Log about this cache:**A big statue there was also a tradi out here so 2 caches at one.**General log:**After years of planning and the canceling of trip due to the corona crisis, the time had finally come:***"more than 5 weeks in New Zealand".***And how beautiful it was!Visited both the north and south islands, many tourist attractions have a cache nearby so I could do some as well.Lots of virtuals and earth caches too and traditionals. But also done a few multi caches here and there also even a mystery and wherigo cache. The trip to New Zealand was great and we saw a lot of nice places. The country has so many different types of landscapes. And the nice thing was that it is winter in the Netherlands but summer in New Zealand SmileToo bad it takes so long to fly and that the flight is so expensive otherwise i can go here next year again. Now you can enjoy it, logging the caches is also part of it. I will try to email the answers for the earthcaches and virtual caches to the relevant co`s as soon as possible. But first log all caches and upload the photos .Submitted via Garmin Live Geocaching

Having done a bit of caching in town while matagouri was at an appointment, we then headed for Miramar to grab some more, particularly focusing on some LOTRs caches as I'm a huge fan.We stopped by near here to pick up a lab cache point that was LOTRs related, so figured I might as well head over and do this virtual cache as well.It took a couple of circuits for us to agree on the number of faces, but we settled on a number which turned out to be in the middle of our two original countsThanks for setting this up. A great choice of where to put your virtual!

26-days-holiday to Singapore, New Zealand & AustraliaDay 7: Rotorua Taupo - WellingtonThis day took us from Rotorua via Huka Falls to Taupo where we had a short break. From there, we headed on up to Wellington with a short guided tour & some spare time in New Zealands capital in the evening. At the event in Wellington, I also got to chat with the owner. After having had the opportunity to go for GC46 spontaneously, barefootguru and taybee nz dropped me close to the hotel. Of course I would not have missed this Virtual, though at night with a not very optimal lit statue the task became a bit more difficult. Thanks for this (new) Virtual & also for the pathtag that you gave me during the event.

When I'm in London, I usually like to drop by the amazing Victoria and Albert museum for a slow meander.
An interesting story, their strange marriage. And then she never remarried after Albert, instead choosing to remain a widower the long rest of her reign.

A very tasteful statue and base indeed.

Thanks for the virtual cache and correcting me and also congratulations on receiving a virtual reward!

This is cache number 4100 !

Having a wander around Wellington today and passed by here on the way back to my car. Enjoyed looking at the statue and plaques. Answers have been sent to the cache owner, hope my face counting was ok, with my eyesight it was quite hard to see them from behind the barrier! Thanks very much for the virtual cache

Thanks for letting this together. A good excuse to check out this state closer. Had never really looked at the panels on the side before

On a cruise aboard the Grand Princess. This is our second port of call in New Zealand. This will be our last cache of the day. Answers have been sent to the CO and our picture posted. It has been a wonderful day of sightseeing and caching as well. Maybe we will return someday. Saying Hi from Texas. Big GrinCool

I was in Wellington with work and after a long day I saw two caches outside our accommodation. I made a plan to get up early and attempt them.
It was still dark and bitterly cold when I visited this but I managed a selfie while avoiding the airborne debris.
