Logs
Im not sure I like looking this close to the graves, however with the help of a previous log, cache was found and signed; tftc
We went on tour with Pitsch Patsch. We chose the Rookwood Cemetery. There is a lot to discover here and it was interesting to explore the different areas. This cache was found after a little searching and our names were signed. Here find nothing - we think the Owner must have a look. Many thanks and greetings from the Moorhelmi
Couldn't find it but didn't look far from the posted co-ords. Didn't feel comfortable doing much rummaging in the graves.
Found on the Mega Capital Geobash coastal loop via Adelaide - Barrington - coast to Mexico City loop. A lot of caches and white line fever was sweated out. Thanks Aussiebrian and clear skies from TeamAstro. Cache the planet! Some logs signed as TAD as teamed up with Tenkae and Deanside for additional fun.
Another cache in a great location!Day 13 were now slowly leaving Sydney before making our way to the Easter 2024 Canberra Geobash. Thanks Aussiebrian for placing this here, contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy.
Found and another smiley to boot. Out caching with *Throsbyonchurch* and *Little Panther*. Thanks for the placement of **REALLY SideTracked - Cemetery Station No2 Rookwood**, *Aussiebrian*. DustyJaperJet
455 book dry, container water logged. Was just chucked down. We put it back.
Looked around GZNO LUCKwasnt sure I was in the right place but the activity log suggested I wasFelt quite uncomfortable searching for this one which perhaps is why I gave up, or perhaps its not there. Its been a good few months since there was a successful find on this cache
This was the last cache at Rookwood for me - all done!Good coordinates, but a slightly surprising GZ.Felt a little bit uncomfortable retrieving the cache - but again, I learned a lot about Rookwood, what an amazing place.TFTC!!
Collected this one during the GC NSW cycling event. I’d been here before on a pre dawn cycle and DNFd, was much easier with daylight. Thanks for placing this cache Aussiebrian #2104
I'm in Sydney to attend a celebratory SideTracked event later in the day at Hornsby ... but came early to grab a couple more SideTracked finds, and to make a start on finding 8 different cache types to qualify for August's Wheel of Challenge souvenir.
A quick find here as the coords are pretty good, but I must admit I was uncomfortable retrieving the cache from its hidey hole and wish it had been hidden somewhere more appropriate. Thanks for the smiley and for the history lesson, though, Aussiebrian.

I’m visiting from Brisbane and was keen to find the old multi and as many other caches as possible in Rookwood Cemetery. I ended up spending 6hrs here and walking many kms. Another quick find and lots of great information. Tftc
Nearly missed it, but didn't take long to spot and retrieve. Container is very wet. Dried it out as best we could, the wind helped. Put in new zip log bag, took out rusty treasure. Thanks Aussiebrian for another treat.
Work trips aren't always conducive to being a tourist or geocaching. But in this instance, I had a full extra day in Sydney. After looking at what I would like to do, I had three options: Lidcombe, Bondi, and Kirribilli. I worked out I only had time for any two, and by halfway through the day, one option was chosen for me and completed. I really wanted to go west, so I boarded the train to head to Rookwood
An old geocache brought me here and that was the end of my plan. I had no idea I'd walk so far in Rookwood. With no other choice, it was two feet and a heartbeat down the most direct roads I could fathom. Never before have I been in such a large cemetery. I took pleasure in watching the different sections go by and once I'd found the target geocache, I checked if there was anything closeby.
The #1 station logs looked to have a lot of issues, even though I'd walk right by it, so this was well, a close second. I walked towards it. I am a big fan of abandoned or forgotten infrastructure and amazed there used to be a railway through here. Makes sense though, really.
I arrived near GZ and it didn't take me long to find the geocache. Not exactly the type of hide that makes me comfortable, but it's not hurting anyone. It was nice to sit for a bit to sign my name, but it was too wet for a signature. All replaced by 12:45. And then I managed to miss the hourly bus by a mere 2 minutes. Fine, long walk back towards the train station and a late lunch. Thanks for this geocache, and teaching me stuff I'd never otherwise know, Aussiebrian

Nice one umm interesting location the ethics is a little interesting but yah nice location
Felt a bit awkward looking for it...like I have done something wrong! Contents wet unfortunately
Coordinates were going all over the place bouncing around but finally arrived at GZ . Actually surprised where this cache was found wondering if the CO had intended it to be in the spot I retrieved from under its hide in the first place - hmm. There was water in the container and the log was very wet and impossible to sign .Replaced log including a new sleeve as well.

Found it. But you couldn’t write in the log because it’s waterlogged. Needs maintenance.
Very early In the morning. Had a good look with my cycle light without luck. Maybe I was just unlucky today.
DNF this one. Felt a little uncomfortable walking around the graves and I couldn’t work out which one I actually needed to search.. even with the clues in the logs below. Oh well. GL
I spent a few hours in Rookwood today and looked for some other caches besides the lab caches. I could find most of them. This was one of them.
Thank you for hiding
Thank you for hiding
TFTC - Unable to sign as I forgot my pen. Photo sent to owner as proof of find.
Found With shano58, we came down by train from Newcastle, wanting to do all the caches in Rookwood, so had a very limited window to do this in to get back in a reasonable time,
Signed log and Cache replaced as found.
**Thanks For The Cache** Aussiebrian.
This makes the 9th cache of 11 for today making a grand total of 3970 at 12:32PM on this Thursday the 12th of January in the Year 2023

Found with BillHill531 today. Log is wet but signable. Needs maintenance. TFTC Aussiebrian.
First log was ruined, other one not too bad. Not sure about hiding on a grave, even if old.
Took an arm(y) of us to find it. Combined caching with Totoro on boxing day. Geodog walking along the way
Second cache that I found on a Friday after work on Rookwood Cemetery. Thanks for the cache!
Not sure about the ethics of hiding a cache on an actual grave.. but found thank you
After dropping my two daughters and one of their friends at DFO I headed to this remarkable cemetery. Almost 4 hours and almost 10ks later, I had completed two Ad Lab Cache Series and 11 other caches. Surprising location of this hide. Entire contents of cache except than the log were soaking wet. Container full of water. TFTC
Hmm... there are some really old sections in this cemetery, some areas in fair condition, but some that should have warning of falling rocks! What rubble!
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Quite a few potential hiding spots but accurate coords managed to narrow things down a bit. Log signed and replaced. All in good condition and TFTC Aussiebrian
Find number 6407

I have never found a cache on a grave before . Lucky my son was with me to give me a bit of courage . Felt a bit weird and took a while as I didn’t want to touch anything
Found It!
Spotted this one after a bit of wandering around. Interesting bit of history.

Ha, the general area doesn't look anything like the old photo on the webpage; when there was a building here all those years ago. But we certainly made our find pretty quickly -- I was expecting to have a harder time and was quite pleased when I spotted the hiding place.
All good here. I added my name to the log and put everything back as I had found it. Thanks for the walk among the old graves. Rookwood Cemetery is such an interesting place.

Found container was full of water, stamped a new log and put in a dry bag and replaced. Thanks to CO
This got a little scared to touch things haha definitely don’t do it with muggles around
Log is completely soaked with the recent weather. Tried my best to scribble my log

I came across a photo of this long lost station in a heritage group I belong to. Here's what it looked like.
Mortuary Station #2.

Nice spot, spotted a little box and new something was up. Last cache for today found 8 in the cemetery, thank you.
Didn't find this first time around -but easier to locate this time. (Don't really like moving things around on graves though)
Thanks for the cache

Visiting my late uncle today, a lovely afternoon bike ride around the cemetery. Tftc
