#856. Judging by the other logs, I would be looking in one of two places. It just so happened it was the second place I looked. Cool camo! TFTC
Nope, we looked as well as we could without attracting attention from the endless stream of muggles. Sad to have to have a blue face on this one. Thanks anyway, we will have to come back another time to change to a smiley face.
After DNFing this one multiple times, I decided to give this one another crack. I decided to pay more attention to the hint this time and made the find in a few seconds! Coordinates are out by a bit but the cache container was very cool! TFTC
Couldn't find the cache so widened the search. Hint matched but took a while to find the cache. TFTC
I was in the area doing the lab cache so thought I would get this one at the same time. High tide so lots of people swimming and fishing. The one time I don't bring a pen....they were all in the car. Scratched my initials at the bottom of the first side. TFTC
4th or 5th attempt at this one. I saw the coordinates were updated and it turns out I was looking in the wrong corner the whole time! Tried this corner today but still no luck.
Coordinates changed from:
S 36° 46.733 E 174° 46.659
Coordinates changed to:

Decided to use the Free Public transit day promotion to get around Auckland a bit. Ended up in Hobsonville, Takapuna and the CBD. Three adventure labs and around 40 caches found!
Not a bad day!
Thanks to all the COs for their placements!
Specifics on this cache:
I was searching the post coords and couldn’t find anything to match the hint, so I expanded my radius. Found a spot that matched and yep there it was.
I checked, the cache was about 15 meters off of the posted coords for me.

Out with NZ Travellers and NewlynFam for a walk from Long Bay to Devonport (although we only made it to Takapuna as we ran out of time with all the stopping along the way ).
This one had us going for a while before we read that the coordinates were a bit off. Once we adjusted for this the very clever camo'd cache was soon in hand!
Thanks for the cache - fav point for the camo!

In training for the Tongario Crossing and we deiced along with Keylev, Laval and NewlynFam we would walk the Long Bay to Takapuna coastal walk as practice and of course get some caches on the way.
Keylev had to read some of the logs to discover that the coords were a little off.
She and Mrs NZT made the clever find!

Pretty much the turnaround point for us today, after getting details for a Virtual further along. Nice hide here.
Entertaining our visiting family, Day five of six. Seems like a tough ask but it really isn't . there are so many paces to go, that we've already done exploring (caching) before so we have a good idea what to expect. The baby was crying a bit so we tag-teamed each other so all could get a feed, and we managed a couple of finds whilst on grandparent duty -yay. A few good caches today and a good walk along the Milford to Takapuna walkway. A few were 'left' for another day too!

Danggggggggg the camo in this is nice the coordinates are definitely out but once I knew that it was easy
The coords are way off, but the hint is very true! So followed the hint instead of the phone. Cool container ! It was fun finding and gets a FP from me. Great series of caches in this beautiful scenery. I enjoyed the day. Tftc
Out of frustration and tiredness we have given up for today but we shall be back
Not quite where we expected it to be but perseverance paid off and we got there in the end.
Our 3rd G-2 find of the day and all have been brilliant but all in different ways.
Thanks G-2 for continually taking this game to new levels.

Walked past this one but knew we would head back that way so could look for it then. Our gps wasn’t helpful here but we followed the hint as other logs had suggested and managed to find another well cameoed cache.
Out walking around Milford earning some smileys on a nice summer's morning. Nice quick find here. Great camo here & not too busy on this section of the walkway. TFTC
Came over this afternoon and parked in Minnehaha Ave. Made my way down the track to the beach walk and headed along to Thornes Bay. Apart from a small area of sandy beach this bay has a lot of lava flow outcrop into the sea. Not sure if I would agree with a real estate sign on one fence describing this as "the best beach on the Shore." Lots of other people out walking but I was able to locate the cache in a gap between groups. Signed and returned. Thanks.
Exploring with the family in my childhood neighbourhood and showing the hidden secrets!found this one with Master 11. Awesome camo! Was a bit wary picking it up at first. Thank you
We had a family Christmas Day walk along the rocks from Takapuna Beach to the Giants Chair today, stopping for a few swimming along the way there (and back). No luck with the cache at the Chair, but this one was no problem. Thanks!
Kiwiscot having a birthday gathering with her friends nearby at Takapuna so scottie was left to fill in some time until the next taxi ride was required. This was the nearest unfound cache. Managed to get a car park nearby and enjoyed the stroll to GZ. A good number of muggles about soaking up the weather but none looking Scotties direction which, following the hint, allowed a quick find. All good, nice camo job G-2. TFTC
I love the walk along the beach here, and there being some newish caches in the area is always a good reason to take this route. Though the beach area was very busy, no one was really paying attention to what I was doing. After ignoring the GPS I headed to where the hint put me, and after a moment spotted something I thought was appropriate. There was the cache, an unusual container, but hides in the spot well. Thank you for the cache #883
As others have said, stick to the hint and you’ll get there. Got it on my second attempt. As usual, most of the challenge with the caches around here is avoiding muggles. Darn, forgot my pen but as I often do this walk, I’ll log it soon I promise. Tftc
This time I extended my search until I found something in line with the hint and got. Thanks for the cache.
Not exactly where the gps was leading us but the clue helped locating the cache. TFTC
Caching today with themexikiwi and enjoying the spring sunshine with everyone else it seems.
Took a little bit of looking, but moved away from where the GPS was suggesting and soon had the cache in hand. All good here. TFTC

I looked near GZ for a few seconds at a time as a parade of promenaders came by. I gave up, but then on the way back, I checked in a spot that fit the hint and found the cache. Maybe coords should be closer to S36 46.721 E174 46.643. TFTC.

It was time to take my niece and nephew out on another geocaching adventure. I decided to target around Milford. We were lucky the rain held out and it turned out to be quite a nice day given the torrential rain during the night.
We continued our walk along the beach, with the kids wearing in their new boots, clambering over the rocks and stepping in the puddles. My niece quickly raced ahead to locate this and it was a fight between the two as to who would find the cache first. My niece proved triumphant even with the sneaky hide.

I'm recovering from back surgery and staying on the Shore while I recuperate and Jag50 kindly offered to take me out to get a few caches as I was having a few withdrawal symptoms. We reached gz and found a stone wall and nothing that matched the hint so we extended our search and Mrs Jag jumped up and quickly had the cache in hand. My phone said we were 16m away from posted co-ords.
Arrived at the coordinates which had us out on the rock shelf and potentially under water. We expanded our search and found this one approx 20m from GZ in an obvious location that matched the hint.
I decided to pop out in the early afternoon, today, once the rain had eased back to showers to find some of the more recently placed local hides. I parked up at the end of the street and took the walkway around to GZ. I tried a few spots but none seemed particularly likely. I was rechecking the area most close to where the GPSr was indicating when one half of Darby&Joan popped around the corner and saved my from fruitless search; thanks for the Intel! Quick find after that. The coordinates seem to be about 20m, or so, out according to my GPSr today. Anyway, cheers for another smilie!
Quick lunchtime dash, although could only get parking at the top of the road, so it was a dash up and down to the beach. Started looking perplexed at where the co-ords had led me, but then thought more about the clue and moved on a bit to find somewhere that made much more sense and then made the find. Unfortunately I was struggling to get the log out with whatever I could find to hand. Was giving up, when I remembered I had an unravelled paperclip sitting in my phone. That did the trick. Anyway rounded the corner to return to the car, when another character with a GPS in hand was looking in the same place I had started. Hiya LostCourse" what are the odds, was able to point him in the correct direction. Anyway that ends the Museum Event, with this being the last cache to complete. SL. TFTC
Cords a little out but great cache and cool location - thanks for placing

Luckily I found this in the first place I looked....due to the great hint.
Many thanks for these new caches!
Many thanks for these new caches!
Coordinates had me out on the rock shelf some distance from where I found the cache, constant streams of muggles just made it even harder, but I got there.

Chasing some numbers, so came past here later in the afternoon, before it gets to busy after work. Checked one place, then had a think and tried another, which was where the cache was hidden. Nice hide, cheers
Hint helped a lot here as we needed to widen our search. Lovely walk in the sunshine today. Thanks G-2
Took a while here and had to expand my search a little. Think I have had troubles here in the past. Tftc
After the ftf at Hauraki Crn, I told the boys nzseries1 and alunb I was off, but I did go and have McD's further down towards Devonport, It hadn't been long after I had my late lunch that another cache had just come out and not too far away from where I happened to be. I thought after an hour the other 2 lads might have had enough and sure enough as I made GZ on this cache, no one was to be seen. But to get to GZ, I had to roll up my track pants since the tide was coming in, took me ages to find the cache since I was looking on the wrong level. But eventually I got there. But am I first though, have the others been and gone? No worries... the paper was blank and I was indeed {FTF} on this occasion. Like the cache here, don't throw anything away, it might be useful as a cache hide eh Glyn!! Cheers buddy for another cache, you sure have been active today!
