TFTC from the Kayakviking! Done a little ramble ages ago when in town for work. Back in daylight and a glorious evening...so cleaned up a patch and got my steps up.Cheers KV
'Twas back up a familiar hill for me today, having spent much of the last week wandering around this particular area!I'd even passed by gz on a few occasions but today I finally got to stop and check it out more closely! The landmark location caught my eye and I was soon standing face-to-face with the cache. The time spent signing the log was also spent contemplating how it would've been awesome to see a larger container take advantage of the space offered by this tree - alas! Thanks to binliner for originally placing this one and mountainsbeyond for keeping it going!
5th of 14 found today.I talked FFP into coming out for a walk around this area. As she's an advocate I didn't want to blaze her on a warm day so that's why this area. Was a top walk around with plenty of kangaroos, parrots and millions of orb spiders. Sometimes went overland, sometimes crossed "ravines" and once I even helped FFP across the river (not) flowing over the fire trail. The things you do in the heat to stay energised. I was really impressed by a couple of the hanging hides that actually blended in even though they were in the open. All caches were in good condition, with most being in excellent condition. Kudos dear cache owner, we appreciate your efforts.Apologies for the generic logs.TFTC mountainsbeyond and the char.
I am from Switzerland...and we travel all states and terretorries of Australia .We do housesitting all over the world and this time we started off in Tasmania .We have been in Australia many times before. Its nice to be back and this time even better with geocaching Nggi2 and I decided today and to make out of green ones Smilies. We have arrived in Canberra last evening and had to camp by a memorial park,,because 2 Caravan parks had closed already..so today winstead of waiting around till 2 pm for one to open we went caching . It was very humid and we were sweating .We aslo picked up some sticks to keep snakes away while going in the bush ..a lady told us tha usally the bush is dry and not so green ..and a another guy told us a lot about wildlife in this nature ..it was very interesting . I saw five kangaross hopping past us . We found most caches in fair time .Thank you for this Dsli (which means in Swiss cache )oinkoinkText soon
Another lovely, stopping point on our walk today.About Black Mountain; its got to be up there with some of the best. The trails are awesome and the flowers in spring are pretty amazing. There are endless trails, and some good steep ones also. Through geocaching, we have come to know this mountain very well and so many of its trails. The Telstra tower is definitely a bit of an eyesore at the moment, particularly when you see it up close and uncared-for. Hopefully this will change in the future. It used to be a place that all the tourists would head to in their busloads. A FP for one of our favourite Canberra mountains and the hide! Thanks Binliner and Mountains Beyond Domsky

I had some time to spare and took my bike for a nice ride around the foothills of Mt Ainslie, plenty of up and down and quick stops.
thanks binliner

Nice quick find, beautiful trails around here I'd never visited before.

Checked on this cache today. It was looking a little the worse for wear so I have replaced with a new container & log. Hide has changed slightly; please check the hint!
#3249 Catching up again with DeadThief. This time at the base of Mt Ainslie. Collected some Multi data and then headed further in for a nice quick find here. Thanks Binliner and mountainsbeyond!
With the GeoAunty down from the abominable Queensland, we decided to make time for a few caches after I had finished work. Most of the caches were found with ease. The scenery was very nice after the rain, which was thankfully minimal during our walk, although feet did certainly get wet, as there was quite a number of puddles and mud.
Thanks for the fun!

Maintenance run this afternoon. Unsure how it ended up with two identical (waterlogged) containers. Retained the best one and replaced with a new, dry log). Ready to go again.
Yep, still two containers here. Thanks for keeping us looking around places we’ve been to many times. Just adds extra motivation
Interesting there are 2 small containers here. One has a crack. Signed the unbroken one. It’s been a lovely walk up here.
Thanks For getting me out and about binliner

During a maintenance run this morning, I wasn't able to find it either. So cache replaced with a new one. Pretty straightforward hide but perhaps not in the precise spot that you would expect. Please replace exactly as found.
Given the number of recent DNFs, I am temporarily disabling this one until I have a chance to get out and check it. Shouldn't be too long.
#11501 - 1:42:00 PM; Dropped the geohoney in the city for some retail therapy and headed off to the Botanmical Gardens for a couple of caches and then on to the foothills of Mt Ainslie to see how many more in this series I could collect (10 finds and 2 DNFs as it turned out). A nice day to be out wandering in the bush. All caches which were logged were in good condition, including this one. TFTC binliner
Last one in the series for today and the one that took the longest to find. Was going to give it away, but held on a few more moments and spied something I must have missed on an earlier sweep. Checked it out and was happy to see the cache mostly buried, but certainly visible.
Thanks for another one binliner......who doesn't like Black Mountain Tower.

Another quick one as we strolled around the area on a Sunday morning.
(See log for AHR 001 for details of our quest.)

Another quick find on our Sunday morning ramble. Thanks for bringing us to this neck of the woods!
We made this one harder than it was. Crazy GPS did not help. Finally found. TFTC Binliner
Staying in Canberra over the Christmas break with my brother, woke up early this morning to walk up mt Ainslie and grab some caches! This was a nice quick find, Tftc!
Took a little bit longer as g ps was bouncing and not quite the same container. Tftc
On a nice sunny afternoon, I headed onto the lower slopes of Mount Ainslie to get a bunch of these ramble caches. Lots of grass seeds ! Then a short dash a bit higher for a solved puzzle cache. Great views from there.
Thanks for the cache binliner

A straightforward find on a ramble around the fire trails thismorning in the rain, accompanied by GeoKid and the GeoHound. We got quite wet, but saw lots of kangaroos and kookaburras and parrots, and no wriggly sticks. Thank you!
A night time cache hunt. This walk was steeped than I thought, but very pleasant. An easy find once I opened my eyes tftc
This one took a bit longer as we spent time recovering from the effects of two unfit people walking up a hill. Soon the cache was in hand and we continued upward, ever upward. TFTC
I didn't have time for a proper search for this cache because I had to keep up with my walking group, so after a quick look I had to call a DNF
I thought this one would be quick & easy but it was not to be. Maybe next time...

Takibi and I had found a lot of this series late last year. But after going out for lunch (!!!! I know!) and somewhat over-noming on some awesome laksa these few caches seemed like a plausible option to deal with the afternoon waddle.
#3754 Caching with Green-martian and Duffco, this loop walk was full of other locals taking their daily exercise. Cache was found, signed and replaced as found. TFTC.
Caching west mount Ainslie on a beautiful ANZAC day, lest we forget. The mountain was full of muggles as me, Theskype and Duff did a 7km loop picking up caches, and interacting with a person or 2 along the way.

It was too nice a day to stay inside, and a good long walk picking up some caches seemed just the thing when so many other outings are currently not available to us. As we approached this one we could see some other cachers, who hadn’t found it at that point. The cache soon emerged however- all good. Thanks Binliner.
Muggle hubby found this one. Had a quick stroll outside to keep sanity and fitness up. TFTC.
After a fairly crap week for the FF team both work and personal reasons a walk and some fresh air was in order regardless of the weather. It was actually just what the doctor ordered to regroup and refresh.
All caches were found in good condition with the exception of one where we improvised.
Only came across two other people who were both out dog walking.
Thanks for this series binliner and much needed distraction right now.

Taking Pebbles to scouts, unfortunately for the last time in a while, gave me time for a beautiful sunset walk on Mt. Ainslie. Lots of fun caches, great nature and pretty views. Saw an echidna too. Its good to be out and walking.
Thank you binliner for putting the cache out and maintaining it.
