Found with StreetWalkerNZ while we travel from Foxton Beach to New Plymouth. The day started with heavy rain, then drizzle, then fine by the time we reached Bulls for morning coffee.
We thought we'd look for a few TMGT while in the North Island before they are archived, but this has been the first one we have had the time for. We needed a break and a driver change, so after an ice cream from a local dairy, we drove on to this cache. We have been here before for a cache, so the canoe was very familiar. Nice to have a wee leg stretch and look at the rose garden. A quick find and we didn't bother recording the code word. TFTC.

#20952. We'd planned to find a few TMGT caches earlier on this trip, but today was the first time we managed to fit in a TMGT find. Nice quick find here (just as well as we had quite a few smiles to find en route to Waitara). TFTC.

With the sunny weather and school holidays it was time to team up with Kelly0 and kids to get some cachers done.

I took the opportunity to sit and enjoy the little park with my geo-child. And as there was a muggle sat right in front of the cache I had to get sneaky. Geo-kids are great. I got Miss 6 to run to GZ and like a good parent I went and retrieved my child, with a quick cache sign.

Needed to get a cache today to continue my streak. Thought it would be easy to shoot out and grab a few tmgt caches. I thought wrong. No luck with the nearby cache and although this was a very easy find i can't for the life of find a 'code'. This was to be my first tmgt but oh well. I'm happy just to find it and even more so to keep my first streak going. Tftc.

#9538. I am on a road trip to Taranaki this weekend to locate the TMGT caches in this part of the country and grab any others that are nearby or of interest. Its a four day trip so giving myself plenty of time as you need it with the shorter days in May. My second TMGT cache in Patea. Nice quick find thanks to the hint. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks 2 Bulbars for hiding it here. Interesting model canoe. From a demographic perspective, one woman and many men make for a very slow population growth rate.

Day 2 of a road trip with Saethwr around the lower North Island. Caching not a priority, but we will get a few.
Wanganui to New Plymouth.
This was where my family would meet to 'collect' or pass on exchange students coming from or going to Palmerston North or Wanganui. Easy to find (like the cache) for those not familiar with the area.
Thanks for the smilie 2 Bulbars.

Smile Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I are on a bit of a Christmas Roadtrip from Auckland to Ingill & back ... we'll be doing a few geocaches on our travels ... this being the 172nd cache of hopefully many ... we had been spent Christmas in Invercargill & were now heading back to Auckland, taking the scenic route ... we were now heading North, had been up the West Coast of the South Island ... were now going 'round the mountain' before heading back to Auckland ... we had stayed the night in Wanganui ... be rude not to grab some caches on the way ... couldn't stop singing 'Poi E' as we drove into town ... quick & easy find ... another 'smiley face' to the tally ... TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #1,906 for us.

We are on our summer holiday, we usually take a few weeks and travel around the South Island, but this year we are heading around the North Island. Heading up the West coast and back down the East coast. Finding only a select few caches along the way, we are mostly targeting some challenges we have qualified for, some large size caches, some that fill gaps in our date placed grid, a few D/T combinations, some with lots of favourite points, letterboxes and anything else that grabs our fancy.

I had a fall earlier yesterday so I was now pretty much out of action with a very sore and swelling ankle so gk had to go to find most of the caches. I hobbled over to have a look around this area, gk made an instant find once he was at gz. He signed the log and returned it as he found it.
We spent quite a bit of time exploring this wee town and beach area, the freezing works display is quite unlike anything we have seen before, as is the vehicle shop/display a little further along the road.
This must have been a grand town in its day looking at some of the fabulous old buildings.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley.

Had the day off work so headed off for some caching. Very slowly getting through the TMGT. The canoe is partly hidden by scaffolding at present but still looked impressive. Enjoyed the whale bone structure on the way into town from the south. Worth a stop. Thanks

North Island Campervan trip Day 1

After the fantastic holiday I had a few months ago traveling around the South Island, making the most of one of those incredibly cheap campervan deals available at the time, I figured it was worth taking a week off work before the stresses of the usual holiday period to enjoy some of the delights to be found around the top of the North Island.

So seeing as I have to get to Auckland to pick the camper up it seemed like a great opportunity to break my drive up there up by going via the Taranaki to seek out some targeted caches there such as the TMGT ones, as well as some that would help me with my Jasmer grid, missing minutes (for a couple of challenge caches I'm working on) and any other caches that caught my eye.

Today was simply the drive up to New Plymouth. Leaving work after half a day there meant I had a few hours to leisurely make my way to the holiday park I was staying at tonight. The weather was glorious and making the journey very pleasant. You could even see Mt Egmont properly!

After my previous find, I was glad that this one was a nice and easy find at GZ. No issues at all with this cache or the log, which was signed and replaced before I was back on my way again.

Thanks for setting this cache up.

We are on a ten day road trip to Taranaki, The Forgotten Highway, Taumaranui, Ohakune and back home to Palmy. Along the way will be sightseeing, short mountain walks, museum visits, a rail cart journey and, of course, geocaching. Day 1 brought us to Hawera.

This cache was a quick, straightforward find but then poor old Mr G had to traipse back in the rain to get the code word! We must try to remember. We had had a fairly find day but as we travelled on from Patea to Hawera the rain became quite steady and definitely wetting! TFTC

01-Nov-20
Nice and easy find here. Exactly what hint says. Muggle did a good job too with helping. Cache is in good condition. Tftc Smile

22-Oct-20
Pre Labour weekend trip away, seen as I'm working through Labour Weekend, I decided that from Wellington I would head towards Whanganui for the night, then home via New Plymouth to collect some TMGT and Jasmer caches.

No issues with the find, noone appeared to be in the building opposite... although with tinted windows it wouldn't be easy to tell. Interesting model in place, thanks for bringing me here. I have passed through for work once, but never noticed it.

TFTC 2 Bulbars, the cache was found in good order Very Happy Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 5 find(s) of 15 today, making this find #2289

My wife and I along with Arcane Junior are heading up to New Plymouth for a concert tonight. Naturally we planned to do some geocaches along the way!

This cache should’ve been easy but somehow I managed to completely twist the hint around so that Arcane Junior and I were wandering around aimlessly. Once I read it again I realised our mistake and went straight to it.

TFTC 2 Bulbars!

Jude_E spotted this one first. I am on a North Island Figure of Eight tour. For the first 4 days I spend time in the Bay of Plenty with my husband JDScout in Rotorua. Now I am on part two of the eight loop near the end of our loop, driving from New Plymouth to Whanganui. This part is being done with my good friends Ethness and Jude_E.
Thanks 2 Bulbars for creating this hide. It was find 9129 for me.

After reading a previous log about what was on the ground and having stepped in some yesterday (I had to clean my shoes at the Cape Egmont Lighthouse) I didn’t go all the way to GZ today!!!

Found as we headed south. The canoe is surrounded with scaffolding.

Jude_E, NosyNel and I are continuing on our figure of 8 tour of the North Island collecting the ‘Tour’ caches, plus others, plus seeing the scenery, plus having a good old time. TFTC.

Teamed up with Cats&Dragons, for an overnight mission down the West Coast focusing in and around Hawera. It's been awhile since we've done a trip like this and it was great to be out finding caches again. We left Hamilton at 7pm Friday night and returned midnight Saturday, with only a few hours of sleep needed we managed 116 finds for the trip. A big thanks to all the cache owners for their placements.

Another one of the tour complete. Found with ease.
