- **On your Bike - Day 3** -**SIGNED AB!***Loci612 / DARKSIDEDAN / Tiz13 / echocage1*After a huge day yesterday, we decided to take it a bit easier today! Sort of.... We devoted the first half of the day to the "Around the World in 81 caches" series! This was an interesting change of pace to the Wherigo's! The caches took a lot longer to solve / find which was expected given the D/T ratings and multi aspect! But with a lot of persistence we succeeded! However we did have to DNF one of them, after an extensive search Sad It was a lot of fun & something a bit different! Later in the afternoon we then started on the OYB caches once again, we needed to get more ticked off the list so that we didn't leave more than we could manage for the final day! It was a long afternoon, but eventually we called it quits when we had 200+ left which was manageable for tomorrow! Phew! Forgot to book accomodation so then had a panic calling many motels, who would of thought they would all be booked out on a random Tuesday!? Eventually we landed ourselves with a room, fanciest of the trip too! Huge thanks to SAGEO_5, but mainly to the individual persons involved with this account and setting up this epic series!

Day 3 of the on your bike shenanigans saw the 4 of us Tiz13 echocage1 DARKSIDEDAN and Loci612 also going around the world as we started the morning off at these multi. They almost sent us around the loop but working together we eventually made our way through the series only DNFing 1....all other were found logs signed or stamped AB or ABG (Adventure boys/Gals ) depending on who signed (don't ask) I signed the caches I found with ABAdventure Bound All caches found, some quicker than others, some higher or lower than expected, a few offered us a challenge that we took turns in accepting. All in all, a very successful fun day 3Tiz13 was the smart thinker here

Another big couple of days out here to target a number of On the Bikes, multiple and paddle caches. A couple of paddle caches were replaced where necessary and met a couple of different caches chasing WIGs and a D/T loop.

Muggle65 and l crashed in the car last night and woke up at daybreak. We started caching straight away. Ended up being a huge day with driving, paddling and more driving. It was totally dark when we finished and many were done by torchlight. Thank you for a very fun day

Im currently on the great novo Leap Day road trip of 2024 which starts in the north east of VIC and heads to Mildura via Echuca and Swan Hill, then on into SA through the Riverland and Barossa before heading to Adelaide for [The Leap Day event](https://coord.info/GL1BKDZBZ), and then the Adelaide Hills and greater ADL area for some cache cherry-picking before heading south to Millicent via the Fleurieu Peninsula. This is probably the biggest geocaching road trip I have undertaken to date with around 200 finds planned!Thought I'd pause with the gratuitous "On your Bike" series where I've spent a large chunk of the day and head up New Well Centre Road to see how I might go with some of this gratuitous "Around the World in 81 caches" series. So far I'm 4/4 DNFs so here is a D1 to try and get my mojo back. Phew. TFTC, SAGEO_5, and thanks to previous finders for cache maintenance!#1791

Yesterday we got the cars blooded with plenty of bull dust chasing some girl called Anna to the west of here. Today and for the foreseeable future, we're putting on more dirt layers on the car. I'm tempted to submit the car as an earth cache and see what answers I'd get back. As part of the inane questions, I'd ask cachers to put down what message they'd put on the back of the car. The back window of the car wouldn't be long enough for, I adjust the seat and mirrors when I drive my spouse's car so they doesn't forget they're marriedThanks SAGEO_5 for a tremendous effort with these multis and the bike series. Signing as part of the BOLD07 experiment.

GC8EW3B Around the World in 81 caches #5A group of us are down from Darwin and Brisbane in preparation of the leap year event. Today was day 1 of hitting the bikes. To save space in the logs as signed as the BOLD7. Was meant to be BDLD7 but something got lost in translation. TFTC SAGEO_5

25-Feb-24
Continuing on with my South Australian caching tour and the mad collection of caches in the state. I am again with the BOLD 7 and today it is going to be a mad assault on as many as we can get of the On your bike series. We are working from our digs down and first of collecting the around the world series and then heading towards sedan for the bikes and a few others as we pass along. There is so much to do and in such close proximity. It is surprising as to how well these caches are placed and have remained in place. It was to stop off and collect the caches and the traffic was a little hectic at times but manageable. Thanks for setting up these caches and maintaining the series. All caches were signed as BOLD 7 and replaced as found. The generic log signing is to save log replacements

25-Feb-24
With our group BOLD7 entertaining ourselves as we head north to explore the country. Fab day collecting bikes and other menagerie! . Thanks to the SA cachers for awesome variety of caches.

25-Feb-24
How very exciting the big trip has finally arrived! Down from Brisbane with a host of other geo friends with plans aplenty, enough to almost see us needing to extend or make a return visit. Our geonick for the trip is BOLD7 which is guaranteed to save the log paper for the 7 individual members of the team. As we make our way around sadly there wont be time for the usual individual logs and therefore just the old generic log will have to do. With little extra notes here and there if needed. Thank you for your cache which has added to my wonderful caching holiday.

25-Feb-24
Collecting some multies and smilies from around the world. Signed with Leap-Mega group nickname BOLD7. Thanks for hiding and maintaining these caches.

Day 2 for us in the area. Today is so much cooler than yesterday, and we are out for a drive and to find some more of the ONB series and Around the World series. A lovely day through quiet roads and beautiful bushland. We replaced a container for at least one where the lid had been broken and added a couple more clip lock bags along the way also.We were grateful for our variety of TOTTS, and enjoyed a few good tree climbs as well. Didnt find WP1. But found the cache in a likely spot. Basing myself in Sedan for the weekend to tackle some local caches. There is quite a spread here to enjoy. After recently finishing the nearby On Your Bike mega trail, I set my sights on this intriguing multi trail. This trail certainly posed a challenge, especially when tackling it solo. I started from the North and made my way South. A handful of DNFs but on the bright side, I did manage to find two finals by chance after failing to find the coordinates at WP1 - swings and roundabouts!Several of the containers at listed coordinates were compromised and were wet inside. Thankfully the coordinates were still legible but a maintenance run might be in order. I ran out of time towards the end so I will have to return to finish off the trail and rectify those pesky DNFs. Thanks for the cache SAGEO_5.# # SmileSmile #13648 SmileSmile # #

After planning this trip to do the on your bike series for ages we finally met some of the team in Mildura last night. After a quick event this morning hosted by Ronice88, Contesta, Ronice88 and myself set out to collect a few caches on the way to Swan Reach. Contesta did the honours and luckily she is a bit taller to be able to reach it

Find # 9187On my way to Mildura to meet up with some caching friends to begin our epic On Your Bike series adventure. Picking up some counties, oldies, and other specials along the route to add to my tally and to stretch the legs. This was a quick and easy find and here at Around the World in 81 caches #5 GZ today. Thanks so much for the many caches SAGEO_5 and of course for giving me a reason and incentive to get out here, and to experience this part of the world in a different light

Getting towards the end of the day when this series was tackled. Some were more difficult to find than others.

12-Jun-23
Late Afternoon of Day 4 of our On Your Bike adventure
Finally headed for home (Waikerie), via a few multis in the bush, and a road full of Multis.
Hardest to find caches of the day - like tiny bison tubes on very big gum trees. Some ladder work and tree climbing involved.
Mark and Melissa did the hardest work here, helping us gain 18 caches with unusual D/T ratings, for us to add our names to the logs.
Finished with a Mystery cache, and a traditional on the way into town.
Thank you for the much needed Multi caches I need for a challenge.

Another fun weekend caching expedition for the 3 Stooges (Cheezel1961, WayneAPN & weredunn4), targeting more of the OYB series and a few more for a bit of variety, with the odd bit of treefishing or tree climbing as well.
Really enjoying this wonderful series out in the bush!
Cache found and log stamped!
Sneaky out of sight hide

12-Jun-23
Another impromptu trip away with the other 2 Stooges making this the 3rd trip targeting the OYB series as The Three Stooges clan

Just as predictable as the TV series, plenty of laughs, banter, one liners, Dad jokes and frivolity had by all.

What a wonderful series this is. Just thinking of the effort gone into this. The number of cache containers, log sheets, collating them, finding hiding spots, GPS co-ordinates, entering them on-line, maintaining them and the list goes one.

A great series for not only the Geo-art but also the different D/T's

Plus a few other tree fishing and interesting D/T combinations gathered in our wanderings

All finds today, all in good condition and relatively easy to find. Think today was a PB for finds.

This weekend almost didn’t happen as weredunn4 had a kayaking trip planned, but it fell through.

So here we are, the 3 Stooges WayneAPN (Larry), weredunn4 (Curley) and Cheezel1961 (Moe) off on another adventure, our 3rd time here collecting more of the OYB series plus a few others we come across.

A great day out, heaps of banter and laughs with great company.

We headed to Swan Reach where we stayed at the caravan park and used this as a base to do the caches within this area. We teamed up with DiMorgan to do this series. This section kept us on our toes with a variety of hides at various elevations

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Like Millicent many plans had been hatched to get to the bike but lock downs and or lock outs had thwarted all efforts. Realising people's schedules the Millicent and Bike raids were separated. This time we elected to drive and pick up a number of LGA’s along the way. The team consisted of B@W, Crash 2079, PPE and Tardis 0061 so logs were often signed as BCPT which could also stand for Bike Cycling Power Trail amongst other things.
We had a few other targets along the way and plenty of TOTT between the Jeep and DB including the inflatable yak often known as BD2.
We did a bit of community maintenance along the bike including those that had dropped for some reason from their lofty heights. Generally we could see the original cable ties so could restore them. Wet and flooded conditions made things tricky at times including the dirt roads and the raid was on and off. Some days we couldn’t dry off until night time making for a potentially grumpy cyclist. Plenty of emus around the Hay plans and a few Roos here and there plus a number of hares along the bike doing their version of being a speedy bunny. Despite the conditions, the bunch executed the plans pretty well. Certainly, a mammoth effort to put out so many caches and hopefully the community helps with the bulk of the maintenance. TFTC.
The multis were an interesting challenge and a number of the hosts along the way are not holding up so well.

Day 2 of hunting bikes around SA. Having a great time looking around the area, some detour for a few multi caches, and a hunt for a FTF! What more adventure could you ask for! TFTC.

Day two of SA adventuring. Some really beautiful landscapes today, lots of wildlife & a good range of caches. All caches found in good order. Some wet logs, or throw downs have been replaced with official caches as we offered to do maintenance on these one as a thanks to Freddo, who leant us some TOTT for the trip
Another great day, bring on day 3!

Catching up with late logs we missed from our recent trip

We were in Swan Reach for the purpose of completing The On Your Bike series and as we had arrived a day early we decided to try our luck with this series of caches.

We had a planned meeting time of 1.30 and we met up with Becknmonts, McLookers, maccamob, pprass, pacman, suscoe and Phetlern

These multi's are a bit different from most we have done but we really enjoyed them all and the scenery along the way was stunning. We were happy that each cache was located and contains our name.
To save room in the log we signed as Vic+N (pprass from NSW)

Many thanks SAGEO_5 for a small taste of what is to come over the next few days.

GT37 and I were very pleased to be invited to join in on the group assault of OYB series and for those that had arrived early, this was an added bonus. We managed to make it just before the entourage left the meeting coords. We had a great day in lovely surroundings.
Thank you for all the work that has gone into placing and now maintaining this series. Please excuse the generic logs.

Papi4506 and I were invited to join the group that were taking on the On Ya Bike series starting tomorrow. This get together was organised for those that might arrive early. We had gone for fuel this morning and only just made it back in time.
It is a really lovely area out here and we were both grateful for the invitation. Thank you the group for the invite and thanks to Sageo 5 for placing and maintaining this series.

Found at 2:00 PM in the company of the gang that attacked the OYB series the next 3 days.
While waiting for the whole group to arrive for the OYB assault, we headed off to do this series which was appealing due to the D/T ratings.
Thanks SAGEO_5.

Our bike hunting group was a little depleted today with only four of us out together. There was four in another car who headed off in a slightly different direct to us. Funny thing is we met up twice as we cached our way around the area. Any cache containers or logs that needed replacing were replaced. Over all we had a fantastic time today.

TFTC SAGEO_5 Day 3. of our On Your Bike adventure. We again teamed up with Muff1, to tackle your On the Bike series. We had spent a lot of time in and out of Lockdowns doing jigsaw puzzles to find the required numbers. Out on the road now. Today was a combination of Wherigo, and multis along with some. Traditional caches. A great day on the hunt.

This was the second deviation from the plan. We travelled up this stretch of road to complete the Round the World in 81 caches located here.

Enjoyed a great day travelling over 300km, finding caches and staying away from other people at this time of uncertainty. It's great to be able to leave home and have a fun day, we even saw a wheat crop that wasn't reapt as yet. We didn't see too much wildlife - the most we saw was 3 kangaroos close to home and enjoyed watching the ducks at Blanchetown while having lunch.
A big thank you to those who hide caches so that we can get out and about and have fun.

Adelaide and South Australia Trip Christmas 2021/2022. Day 14. The next phase of my journey is underway. I am in Loxton with Fitzy_1965, MinnieK, Sol de Lune and Smitten Granny to attempt to finish the On You Bike where-i-go caches. We have managed to solve them all before we arrived. Day 4 in the River land. There were two phases to today, first Sol de Lune, Smitten Granny and I went out and did the first 100 On you bike caches, as MinnieK and Fitzy_1965 did them last year. Then we all joined up and started the Multi series 'Around the world in 81caches'. Wow was that a challenge. So many trees and such small well hidden containers. We had to seek help on two, but eventually all the ones out here were done. We also did the traditionals and a puzzle in 'Bakara Conservation Park'. Remember, more water next time !

This trip to Loxton had been a year coming as I had missed out last year due to other commitments. The group had increased and the target list of caches was much higher. It had been a group effort to deal with all the jigsaw puzzles and then the Reverse Where-i-gos were sorted out with the various online tools. The trip was looking at risk as the COVID situation stretched and stretched, but at least SA kept to its plans to open the borders and we all jumped through the hoops required to get across the border. The weather was looking extreme as the journey approached and it did not disappoint. The daytime temps were from 36-42 over the days of this exercise and it made for some hard work and lots of water usage.

Thanks for the cache SAGEO_5

Day 5: SA/Vic Christmas holiday trip

Last Christmas holidays, fitzy_1965 and I (along with two geo-kids, Death Killer & my_name_jeff_1) headed to SA to visit family whilst we could, and to collect as many counties and caches as possible along the way. We decided even before getting home that we needed to go back. The added incentive of more On You Bike series sealed the deal. Fast forward through 2021 (because who wants to remember that), and here we are again. This time with extra company in the form of Sol de lune, Smittengranny and albida33.

At the start of today, we collected some caches around Loxton before venturing a little further afield for the Around the World series and solved puzzles in the area. This was exhausting in the heat of the day and the dust of the roads, but we made all the finds we went looking for. At the end of the day, we made the decision to pack up a day early and head back across the border to do the Paddle Steamer…..and to air conditioned accommodation instead of continuing to camp in tents!

All caches were signed as FAMSS and were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

26,185. Found with minniek, Sol de Lune, Smittengranny and albida33 during our post Christmas / New Year trip over to South Australia and Victoria to tackle the On Your Bike and Paddle Steamer series among many other caches.

Today we started by finding some caches around Loxton, then went for the Around The World series and some more solved puzzles. A lot of the Multis were certainly hard work, but all were found - sometimes using the appropriate TOTT - unless otherwise stated. Signed as FAMSS. This was another long hot day.

When minniek and I were in South Australia in January this year (2021) doing the On Your Bike series of (then) 100 Wherigo caches, we were talking to the CO who mentioned that a whole lot more were soon to be published, and they were - 512 more ! So once back home we set about solving all those new ones which was at least something to do during 'stay at home' orders effecting us. Then once they were all solved we planned a trip over to grab them. Then just to add to the fun the latest 152 were published just in time for us to spend time solving them all so we could get the whole set. With our caching friends Sol de Lune, Smittengranny and albida33 this series was our main aim, but with the 'Around the World in 81 caches' series, various solved puzzles and the Paddle Steamer as standby if we got the time.

We managed some BIG days caching and finished off the On Your Bike series in three days, then attempted the mammoth 'Around the World in 81 caches' series and some lovely high/rare D/T caches - all in searing summer heat peaking at over 40 degrees ! Once they were finally completed we headed over to the Mildura region for another two blistering hot days doing the Paddle Steamer series. After camping for five nights we finally relented and got hotel rooms for the last two nights and worked the air conditioning to the bone.

All in all an amazingly fun time was had, and we have all made room in our calendars for when the next part of the On Your Bike series is published - no pressure ! Highlights included many of the fun tree climbs, the pole caches which increased our skills at the recovery and replacements of those styled caches, and the relaxed times and banter around the camp site at the end of each tiring day - including New Years Eve !

Thanks to all the COs for contributing their caches to our fun times, and I must apologise for the generic logs as we did find well over one thousand caches which now require logging !

After finishing up the last 100 in the On Ya Bike series, Smittengranny, Albida33 and I met up again with fitzy_1965 and Minniek to give these multi's a go. Certainly a lot of effort to get the ones we did, with lots of ladder work and searching for both WP's and GZ's. A few had us stumped for a while, a few took a while to find...and we certainly earned the DT ratings on each of them.

All logs were signed FAMSS, for fitzy_1965, Albida33, Minniek, Smittengranny and Sol de Lune.

Thanks for the series SAGEO_5. Great to see a series of caches where the work required to find them was a little harder then the usual.

After Sol de Lune , Albida33 and I had completed #1 to #100 of the On Your Bike series, we met up again with Minniek and Fitzy_65 to spend the afternoon finding multiple caches in this area including this one. Each cache was signed FAMSS. Thanks to all COs for the placement and maintenance of these caches that contributed to the success of our trip across the state borders during our Christmas New Year break.

Enjoying the trail and this was one we got. Caching with Wollaston and SeasonedBird. Thanks

Another little break from the OYB series and nice to do something a bit different.

Even with the numbers being down it was great to attend a Mega and at least get to meet some fellow cachers after so long and catch up with a few people, we flew over from Tassie on Thursday and after spending a few days in Adelaide we headed Northeast to clean up some series and then head South to Millicent for the start of the Mega long weekend.

This trip has changed so many times since it was first booked and I'm glad we got to do it at long last, to start with it was just myself and GooseandEgg nipping over for the Mega and then it was a few more days with the addition of 1 toolman, then with lockdown it was back to two of us but then another Tassie cacher in the shape of BudgieTas stepped up to the plate and we were back on for an over a week trip to grab a few caches before the Mega and then finish off with Millicent before flying home on the Tuesday.

Thanks for the cache.

After a big day previously (335 caches), we were all fairly exhausted, so we ticked off the last of the On Your Bike Series and made our way to Renmark, and a FTF. On the way we found selected caches like this one.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Early in 2021 I received an invite from GoosenEgg and Stainless Steel Rat to join them on a caching trip to the Mega in South Australia. As planning got underway some caches with high Favorite points, very old caches, and the On Your Bike Series were listed as "must-dos"

The trip ended up being 10 days of solid and very enjoyable caching with quite a few highlights. The find count for the trip was around the 950 mark when all GCA, Adventure Lab, and GC caches are included. The high point for finds was a day of 335 finds in the one day, which would have been more, but a sudden storm put the end to caching for the day. No one was interested in getting out of the car to find a cache in a downpour in the dark Smile

We were lucky enough to find Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin's Cache, and my favorite for the trip Barossa High (From 21st of January 2001 with the original log book still in place) all in the one day.

Unfortunately, the caching around the mega was beset by bad weather and the day we had put aside for Mount Gambier was scrapped due to a covid case in Mount Gambier on the previous day, so we avoided the area. We all enjoyed the Fishing series and just managed to get the remaining of these before the light failed for the day.

In the end I managed to completed my D/T grid for the first (and possibly the second time) which was my aim for the year, although some of the D/T combinations were not really achievable in Tasmania without a 3 day overnight bush walk.

Back to grab a couple of Around the World in 81 caches that we'd missed for finishing the On your Bike series.

The Millicent Mega trip had been a long time in the making, for the Tassie trio of stainless steel rat, budgietas and gooseandegg, due to a couple of false starts thanks to COVID19. More and more caches were added to the extensive list as planning was being finalized. We focused on old caches, large caches, certain D/Ts, virtual caches, the On your Bike series and a few other special ones on our journey. Our route saw us caching in Adelaide for a few days before heading north via Gawler to the Barossa in preparation for the On your Bike series, whilst basing ourselves at a gorgeous cottage in Waikerie. We continued on to Renmark for a night before the long trek south to Millicent.
Some of the many highlights along the way were Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin’s Cache, Barossa High and Riverland (the oldest surviving geocache in South Australia).
At the Mega we caught up with a few of our caching friends, made some new ones, and of course missed many who could not make it this time. The weather was not the best in Millicent, and a COVID19 situation in Mt Gambier altered our plans but we had plenty of caches to keep us busy between showers, including tree climbs, plenty of adventure labs, and the entertaining Finding a Fish series - giving the new pole a good workout for the first time.
Thanks to all the CO’s who have placed and maintained all these caches that made our adventure so memorable.

Today was a special day as we were targeting particular caches with the aim of lifting the number of different D/T ratings found in a day. The ladder work was done by ilook4geo, while lesser terrain ones were good for me. We did achieve a lot in the day and were happy to stamp both names on each log to record our visit. Thanks go to SAGEO_5 for being a part of the hunt for today.

Had a good day today looking for some needed caches, along with goingplaces2, to fill in some spaces on the D/T grid. Managed to gather a good selection and had a lot of exercise getting to some of them. TFTC.

First day of our stay at Waikerie for the June long weekend. Found some loose caches as well as a good section of the multi-cache Around the World Series.
These caches were found after a quick or long search and in good condition, just a couple that had wet log books.
A total of 33 for finds for today and 1 DNF.

Found on a great day out with sir spectre, mogni, allister w, Michells&hound and CPwanderer.
This was our target series for the day.
Some of these were quite tricky to spot even with 6 sets of eyes looking. We found them all eventually and I enjoyed driving around the area.
Logs stamped today as Mystery Randoms to save log space,

So another JAMS weekend was planned, sadly the J was away so instead we brought along CPWanderer and Gizmos Gang to make up the numbers. Due to the change in team we cached as Mystery Randoms. Our target a series of multies and what ever else crossed our path. All of our targets were found.
Thanks to SAGEO_5 from mogni Smile

found with Gizmos Gang, allister w, CP Wanderer, Mogni and Michells&hound and all logs stamped today as Mystery Randoms to save log space. This series was the target for today. 2 cars stopping at start point along the trail then slowly trying to find the cache. After spying where the start cache was hidden, then only half the time getting the cache with out the aid or a ladder or free climbing the tree/structure, only to repeat the same exercise at the final. Like the CO states " Warning, this is NOT a power trail and may take considerable time to complete!!! " It seriously would have helped if the cache holding the co ords for the final was at the same terrain as the final. You would have thought with 6 people looking we would have gotten though a bit faster than we did. I also wasn't expecting " some " of the multi's to end up in the national park below the trail. Lucky for us the road in was dry, it might be more interesting driving in after heavy rain in a 2wd. Surprising the only fauna we saw all day was some parrots. All caches were found ( eventually ) . Some a lot quicker than others. The co ords for a few of the finals in the middle of the trail where damp but still readable. It was nice not be be the main ladder man for the day, that honor went to Allister w. Allister w was also our driver for the day and as usual i was navigating. The couple of puzzles and wherigo was solved before we left. We left in the dark and got home in the dark but as you expect, there was other caches apart from this series found today. A long fun day out.
It's mad may. I have to get 15 multi's on calendar day's in May and that month only has 31 days. Now down to 40 multi calendar days left for the year.

A great day caching with CPwanderer, Gizmos Gang, Michells & Hound, Sir Spectre and mogni. I enjoyed the drive around the area with some great sights and spots. I also got to climb the ladder a couple times throughout the day. A great team effort to get about 30 or so finds. TFTC

Completed the Around the World caches today with Sir Spectre, Michells&hound, Gizmos Gang, Mogni and allister w !!!!! Certainly no drive bys!!!! ............................. Six sets of eyes gave us the necessary edge to locate the well hidden first and second stages. We started at the northern end and worked our way towards, and then into, the Bakara Conservation Park!! Thanks SAGEO_5 for the challenge!! We signed the log with a combined team name of Mystery Randoms.
