this is a friendly callout to the (probably) muggle who due to some unfortunate timing 100% saw me pull the cache out. when we made eye contact he made the choice to throw me the most awkward nod, immediately look away and kept walking. king of minding his own business tftc!!
Today was wet and rainy day, but that did not stop me and batapus from doing some weekend caching. After doing some soccer at Cammeray, we walked down Merlin st to our first cache. This cache was number 1/5, approaching GZ we were a bit confused on where the cache could be, but after some exploring the area, we looked back at the coords and now they liked a different spot. So going the other location, it didnt take long for batapus to spy the container. It was now onto the footbridge to cross the M1 and find our next cache.#139, TFTC!!
Luckily it was hidden it a sensible spot as the satellites were having trouble here. TFTC.
Went past GZ as seemed further in but the area was littered with rubbish and eventually returned to the path bend from where it was obvious, tftc.
Found It!
I went for a walk over here from the nearby event. Then went down the stairs and soon spotted the cache!

After visiting Palm Beach today by bus, I walked back to North Sydney via this stairway. Didn’t take too long to find. It was quite visible from the path, so added another rock to cover it. Tftc
What a spectacular stairway I would never have otherwise found. Very happy I did, great cache thank you
After having found Seeing Red, and DNF'd Crossy Freeway, we continued down to this one. Noticed that the GPS was not very helpful downstairs, but eventually found the cache.

Last cache of a very productive caching day. Parking upstairs, I walked down down down until I had to veer of the path and do some muddy bush bashing.

With a bit of searching you were able to find also very nice walk. With a bit of searching you’ll find it and there is plenty of toys in there
On my way home this rainy afternoon stopped by to attempt this one. Found visible from the path, so signed and rehid with what would be protecting I assume.
We came at this one from down at Bent St. Got to the top and then headed back down a bit until we noticed some telltale signs of cache presence. The cache was then uncovered, signed and returned. Thanks!
A Christmas morning swim, a coffee with friends, a delicious waffle breakfast, presents and an afternoon nap. What else would make it a perfect Christmas Day? Some geocaches!! We had a DNF here in September when the container had been muggled. Today we spotted the giveaway camouflage and not a muggle in sight. TN L Woolies bricks SL TFTC Cheers… Gaztek
Took a break from the nearby FTF and walked up here. I hate these kinds of GZs because I always end up on the wrong level or far too dense in the shrubs.
Same thing happened today, and once I took a comfortable step back, spotted the cache in a completely different location to where we were originally looking!
All in order here - thanks!

Re hid in a similar spot with similar container now regular. All good, Get finding!
No luck for use here today and we can report with a high degree of certainly that the container is no longer there. We walked over here fromSt Leonard’s Park and enjoyed this patch of bushland and crooked stairs. We spotted a likely location from the path but the camouflage was not in place. As we were casting around for other places, helpful muggle Brendan came by, asked what we were doing and offered to show us the hiding place. Alas, it was the place we had thought and it was gone. He told us that he had been cleaning up here one day and about to stick the container in his bag as trash when some geocachers came by and rescued the container and explained the game to him. Turns out that luluh05’s log from 31 July 2021 confirmed helpful muggle Brendan’s story. Not sure what happened here but those turkeys can be pretty fierce. Cheers… Gaztek
Nothing at the likely hide location. Passing muggle who knew of the cache confirmed it was there previously. Cheers… Gaztek
A nice easy find on my walk for the day.
As there was a muggle sitting at the GZ for the cache i was actually targeting i headed onwards and made my way up to this one.
I was able to spot the hiding place pretty quickly and was soon on my way again.
Thanks.

After a few calendar finds today - before we're all locked down. But of course not going to any of the danger zones... so headed for the new cache in Northbridge.
After that picked up two more before heading home.
And always welcome, came across another cacher while on the hunt.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
And I had an initial problem with this cache. Alfred street is closed, so I ended up going the long way round before getting a park a short distance away.
Started down the stairs wondering when I'd have to leave the path. Shouldn't have worried as I spotted what I suspected was camo while still on the concrete.
A quick hop, step and a grab confirmed I had the right spot, and took it back to the path to complete signing duties.
Then replaced and headed back to the car for the trip home.

Out with doing this and that, not that there was much of that to do with so many shops closed today. We wandered downstairs. I went too far into the undergrowth, and was attacked by a nasty, spikey vine, while MummyPenny nonchalantly noted a suspicious sight before even leaving the path. The container fell open so I suspect it hadn't been locked and the logbook was mildly damp, but ok. We signed and returned, properly sealed. Thanks Googlehihihi.
I recognised the hide from the track and added a plastic bag for the log, watched by the guardian turkey from a tree.
Ok this one was a bit of a mission. Part way down the stairs I realised I needed to head to the toilet. So up I went and drove to the gas station on military road. Headed back to the GC and decided to park in the opposite end from where I was earlier. Walking up the stairs towards GC I went off the path and rummaged around the rocks. There was so much rubbish here, would make a good CITO location. Didnt have a bag to collect the rubbish plus in the heat I was keen to get out of it ASAP. I also found the local bush turkey. Eventually found GC, container in good condition, TFTC.
Found this one in the weekend when it was 40 degree heat... I nearly died as a result, well almost. I found 13 GCs that day and can I say that I often took sanctuary inside my car with the air conditioning on full. There's dedication for you to the GC cause!

What an interesting place. Had no idea this was here.
The cache was quite exposed.
Due to Covid we are not signing the logs and are taking photos.

Easy find. Approached from a different angle. Out social distancing caching with Chippyddd and BennyDaMole. Cache and logbook are dry. Didn't have any SWAG but there is room for small items. Hint is a great help. SL TFTH TFTC Replaced cache as found ready for the next have adventurer.

Muggles: None
Weather: Cool autumn morning
Cache condition: Good
I needed to go to the office due to a medical appointment (all fine, nothing to do with Covid ) and decided to drive rather than take the train, given the roads are so empty. I passed by here (sort-of) and decided to stop off on the way, given I was running early. I parked at the top and headed down, and once close spotted a familiar sight - CIH! TNLNSL TFTC

Found a spot to park upstairs and walked well and truly past it without knowing. Doubled back and noticed the tell tale signs, thanks for the placement
When this cache was first published I was very very tempted to rush over for FTF as its only a couple of kilometres from home but resisted the temptation and I knew then that making a find today, Leap Day, would be extremely difficult as I would be starting the day on Lord Howe Island and then arriving back in Sydney in the late afternoon. So I kept this cache specially for today.
I was worried that during those months the cache would be muggled or archived but as I left on my trip everything was still in play.
Arriving home I dropped the bags and jumped in the geomobile and headed over. No where to park, and getting darker, then I spotted a sign that was very helpful and a parking spot nearby. I began the walk, the longer walk from where I left the geomobile.
I've never been here before. Its an interesting walk, but all those steps........after having climbed a mountain on Lord Howe Island this morning (yes a real mountain) then sat cramped in a plane for a couple of hours and then had to walk home with all my luggage from the station (the local bus doesn't run on Saturday evenings) the last thing I wanted or was expecting was all those steps.
As I walked it was getting darker and darker, creepier and creepier, so I began looking for where I'd have put the cache. Somewhere caught my eye so I checked the spot and there was the cache.
Success, a cache found on Leap Day!

Out for another evening walk this time from Mosman Bay to Milsons Pt collecting a couple of unfound cache on the way. At this one I enjoyed the walk from the prior cache Dirt Tanks and thanks to the hint made a quick find in the first place I looked. Container and log in great condition. Howdy from Dallas, Texas
Cache in great shape.
After reading a few logs we were able to find this fun cache.
This trip was planned some time ago but we kept running into issues. So when a business trip to Asia came up I decided that an unconventional route and an extended stop-over were in order as opposed to waiting for the stars to align on a pleasure trip.
Our 2020 goals are to find all the year 2000 caches and complete 6 original FIZZY loops (loops with caches placed before April 6, 2007). No one in the world has done the latter. Only one person is at 4 loops, LISDOWNEY from Ontario, Canada. So, of course, Lane Cove and Geocache - Relocated topped the list this trip and one other south of Canberra that we found, that wasn't easy.
I had been to Australia once before for a honeymoon years ago but promptly headed off to the Hayman Islands to scuba dive in the Great Barrier Reef, so I didn't get to take in many of the touristy things Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, and Wollongong has to offer. This trip we fixed that anemia. The aforementioned cities played as our hub cities each night and the launching pad for the next day. Sydney was the only city that there were two overnight stays. Sadly the first day after landing we had found all the target caches that we had for Sydney, so I fixed that staying longer in Wollongong and did some epic hikes.
I would also be remiss if I didn't mention that while in Sydney a sad record-breaking day occurred. When driving out of the city toward the outback a radio announcement said that that day was the worst day in Sydney's history for the smoke covering the area from all the wildfires. It was bad, I could really feel it in my lungs. But, just an hour west and it was a beautiful nice day.
Things learned about Australia while on this trip (I know COs in Australia don't care about this stuff but we have students that like to read our logs here in the States and some creepers that obsess about us - no joke we had an event while there and showed a group of Sydney cachers our trolls) :
- Birds are so different here, all kinds and Cockatoos were like our Krackle birds as noisy as heck and everywhere.
- Kangaroos are like our dear. Cool to watch, see and eat. Yes, eat. It was on the menu one night.
- The Average Aussie drinks 96 liters of beer per year
- Highway 1 is the longest national highway in the world
- There are more kangaroos than people
- The Drop Bear was created to scare tourists
- And they love Vegemite
- Melbourne has the largest Greek population outside of Greece
- There’s a mountain named “Mt. Disappointment”
- Australia’s dingo fence is longer than the Great Wall of China
- Some of the world’s deadliest animals live here
- Australia was inhabited for at least 50 000 years before the British came
- Australia has over 10 000 beaches
- It’s the 6th largest country in the world
- The Australian Alps receive more snow than Switzerland
- Home to the largest living structure on Earth – The Great Barrier Reef
- The Kangaroo is the national animal of Australia
- Home to a larger population of camels than Egypt
- Wombat poo is square/cube-shaped so they don’t roll away. This makes it easier for them to mark their territory.
- The name ‘Australia’ comes from the Latin word ‘australis’, meaning southern
- Total Population: 24,970,200.
- Capital: Canberra.
- Biggest City: Sydney.
- Highest Mountain: Mount Kosciuszko
- Land area: 7,692,024 km2.
- Biggest Lake: Lake Eyre (salt) and Lake Mackay (freshwater)
- Government: Federal parliamentary constitutional monarchy
- Prime minister: Scott Morrison
- Currency: Australian dollar (AUD)
- Official language: English.
- National song: “Advance Australia Fair”

A day when there was some rain in Sydney although not nearly enough. Parked the car nearby and walked to this one and stopped a bit short. Soon discovered my error and there it was.
