Logs
Based on the log from the CO (24/Aug/2024), and subsequent logs, it would seem the cache no longer exists and the site has been abandoned by the CO.
Unfortunately the GZ tree depicted in the below photo has been severely burnt, along with all the surroundings, inside and out, so the cache that resided within has been burnt to a crisp along with it.So I suppose it now relies on a local to replace the entire cache.
As Im not going to get to this cache any time soon Ive attached a photo of the hiding spot. Some of you have mentioned that this area has been burnt, the cache was placed inside an old tree stump. If the next person that goes looking for it finds that it indeed has gone to cache heaven then Ill sadly have to permanently disable it.Please let me know, thanks.
We zeroed in on GZ, but as previous cachers have also found, the host has been burnt to a crisp by the fires and despite much digging around, sadly its melted its way to cache heaven.
No luck. There has been quite a decent fire through here so maybe needs a maintenance visit?
Its where you think it is and you feel like an adventurer getting to it and finding it
Enjoying the gorge area of Beechworth with its spectacular views and scenery. This was a quick find. Thanks for bringing us to this beautiful area.
We saw all around Beechworth while staying with family.
Quick find in a beautiful town. Thanks SBrundan & Summer_ Lee.

Invigorating walk up the hill and lots of granite and moss to negotiate.
But well worth the effort.
Co-ordinates are a bit ‘out’ so using the geosenses are required.

Found it after a bit of bush-bashing around. Thanks girls, from a visiting Sydney-sider
Found a little hide about 9 m away from the coordinates by my GPS. Gee I hate it when you open the container and find a Covid mask in there. I’ve had it happen a few times. Disgusting habit.
Never mind… lovely little hide and lovely place

Tool a round about walk to/from the Cascades, yep, the road is closed to cars (and the bridge closed to pedestrians). But all good here, once we ignored the GPS and just looked for good spots! With DancingBare, TFTC from Tennessee, USA
Quite a few people confused about the second part of gorge Rd being closed.
A nice quick find thanks. I like the spot you found

I originally found this cache with my Mum heymissjo, but now that I have my own account, I am logging. Thanks for the cache.
For the past few years I have cached as part of "team heymissjo", but now I am old enough to have my own account so logging the find. Thanks for the cache.

Camping nearby with The Welder and our geokids and today we are exploring the surrounds and caching as we go. The youngest geo-kids loved this cache and were impressed with the nearby mine and size of thee rocks. Whilst I was impressed that after the cache found that The Welder hand picked some gorgeous wildflowers and paused them to me, he can be a little romantic like that.

Big things are continuing to happen! *Are you joining the fun again in 2022?*

Camping with Heymissjo and our minis nearby for school holidays. Great to get out and collect some caches.
Found after a few minutes search on a short gorge drive on a foggy morning in Beechwoerh. Thanks for the cache.
As this cache was getting nearer, all of a sudden GZ came into view in the form of alexial39 cachers who were a few minutes ahead. We shared signing duties and were on our way. Nice to meet other cachers in the field and on this occasion thanks to alexial39, it couldn't have been an easier find!
Thanks also to SBrunden and Summer Lee, sounds like you had a fun Girly Road Trip to make your way here.
Cheers

Cybergran V wanted to come to the Meet and Greet at Beechworth held by some lovely Canberra geocachers[^]
So we headed off Friday and returned home on Saturday[:X][^]
In between, I found 20 geocaches, had 1 DNF, attended the 1 event, ate a lovely apple, blue cheese and hazelnut pizza[:X][:X][^] for tea accompanied by some of the event attendees, found a cache with them after tea[:X][^][:X] and I got bitten by a dog at the hotel we were staying at, when it attacked Rex. So my weekend ended with a tetanus shot and a course of antibiotics[xx(][^]
We also completed a few adv lab stages and were so enamoured of the history of Billson's Brewery as told to us by 'Declan' who works there, that we ended up there for lunch on Saturday and enjoyed their wonderfully cheerful staff[^][^], the lovely food[:X][^] and gorgeous old buildings[:X][^][:X][^][:X]
Having got a FTF on one of these 'Girly Road Trip' caches near Benalla, I had to coem and find this one too while I was so close to it[^]

Out for a mental health break. Checking out the area and finding some caches. Great knowledge. Great hide. I had a great day out in this beautiful area. Thanks for placing the cache. Great Spots. TFTC
Quick find in a really neat place. Don't appreciate whoever left their masks here though.. tftc
After such a very long time, it was amazing to hit the road again with Mummy Short Legs for yet another KAKAGA (Kate And Kelly's Amazing Geocaching Adventures). While the Mega was postponed, we still had accommodation and so we made the most of it in this lovely town over the weekend without the kids and husbands - bliss!
Took a few turns about but we laid hands on this relatively quickly between rain squalls. Such a lovely area to be visiting despite the weather. This one struck a cord in particular as this is our first girly trip away in a year! TFTC SBrundan and Summer Lee

Finally, a weekend away for another KAKAGA adventure and although the MEGA event we'd aligned this trip with was postponed, we truly needed the time, space and company. By this stage of our adventure, we'd acquired a stalker in the form of a couple in an obnoxiously large white 4WD. This was the third geocache where we were being followed. We pulled over beyond gz and walked back, with the 4WD slowing down and crawling past us as we walked alongside the road. As they couldn't pull over due to their sheer girth, we dove into the bush and Kato found the cache before we snuck back to our car to...guess what, find the 4WD in the same parking area. Tricky parking around here but a pretty spot on a quiet afternoon. Cache found in good condition after a short search. Sounds like a good road trip!
Found it.
Geocaches are not designed for dropping your rubbish off.
E.g. used face masks.

Me and the kids didn’t find. But there were recent finds so perhaps it was just our skills in question.
On our way to attend the Beechworth Creation Celebration Event this morning Muggle Hubby stopped here for dalerious and I to enter our names into the logbook and enjoy the view.
Thanks for the cache and the lovely area it introduced us to.

Found with Cybergran V and her MuggleHubby at 10:12am before attending the Beechworth Creation Celebration Event.
This was not the first time I have cruised Gorge Rd, but somehow it was the first time we got a chance to find this one.
At least we had one girly in our party.
(Shhhhhhh.....If Cybergran V ever knows I ever refered to her as a "girly", she will box my ears. [xx(])

A ripper spot to bring us to.

Out and about helping out a mate with some maintenance on his Hoop Series caches. So l thought l may as well make the most of my time out and about and grab some caches along the way. Cache found in good condition
Enjoying a touristy drive around the gorge this afternoon and grabbing a few caches as we go. A quick find here just in time before passing muggles. TFTC, a beaut area.
Took the chance to drive the full length of the Gorge Rd this trip as we didn't manage to do so last time. A nice quick find for us here today. Thanks for the cache.
Spending the afternoon exploring Gorge Rd in a leisurely fashion, we stopped by to find this cache. The GPS was playing up a bit at first but eventually directed us to the hide. TFTC SBrundan & Summer_Lee.
Lovely spot to stop on a bike ride down the hillside, on one side the view of Beechworth and bushland on the otherside, went with AslanMane. TFTC
School holiday time at Christmas – hooray. A week in Beechworth in the caravan with our daughter. Sunny all week, window shopping, visiting historic sights, walking in the bush & geocaching of course. Found at 1537 by AK
Thanks for the cache, some special person left a rolled mask in here. 18th find for the day
Beautiful Sunday morning, decided to grab this easy drive by whilst out grabbing my morning cappuccino from the Beechworth Bakery. TFTC SBrundan & Summer_Lee
