Logs
The grass is pretty long and wet here today. Thought I gave it a decent go but didn't spot the container
Checked today. The log is rotting away and the container was quite buried. Moved to a better location and changed the hint. Same coordinates.
#12,673. A nice walk in Fitzherbert, Palmerston North. GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Found after a long systematic search. Well hidden. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
Thanks for the placement, and for bringing us to this site, and …

Managed to get off work a bit early so had about an hour and a half of sunlight left to do some caching. Parked up at Valley Views road and headed off on foot to collect the 7 caches along this green corridor. What a great walkway meandering along the stream. Managed to find all 7 and estimate that it was about 7km in total. One cache/km. Not bad. Was getting pretty dark by the end so came back on the road. My kids keep threatening to do the Te Araroa so it was interesting to follow a short bit of it here.
Met a few inquisitive animals on the way back. Thanks for the smiley.

Found today on my way up to visit friends in Palmy this evening.
I'm really not sure which way I was supposed to get to GZ, as there appear to have been some recent new dwellings put up which seem to prevent direct access to this cache, but I walked around the back of the new properties and made my way through the long grass.
Once at GZ, it was a quick find. No issues with the cache or contents, so the log was quickly signed and then I returned back to the car and carried on to the social function.
Thanks for placing this cache.

Was spending a couple of days in the Manawatu area for work and after spending the night in Palmerston North last night. After getting up early this morning I checked out of my accommodation and then went over to Aokautere first to see my first customer for the day and then spent the rest of the morning in Palmerston North making my way around and seeing a few clients.
After finding GC8QZEZ - Wooden giant, I still had a bit of had a bit of spare time available, knowing that there was another cache in this walkway I decided that since I was here I might as well go over and check this cache out as well. I decided to leave the car at the given parking spot as I knew that it was safe where it was and as I was making my way around this track I could keep an eye on it as I had a good view of it all along this walkway.
Checking the cache I realised that the cache was just over 220 metres away as the crow flies, but there was no way that I was a crow, and I know that I surely cant fly , well as far as I know. So as I was in my work gear, I knew that I was going to have to take it very carefully as I made my way to GZ.
The walk over to GZ was very pleasant and as there was a well-trodden path, I was able to get to GZ without getting my shoes too wet and muddy. I knew that I should have changed my shoes before I left the car, but not having being on this track previously, I wasn’t quite sure of the conditions, this should have being a good warning , but its always great in hindsight.
Arriving near GZ, I decided to check the hint and soon realised where this cache was going to be, yeah in the long grass warning , this is not going to be good , but I soon spotted a slight path that I could take without getting too wet I hope . Arriving at GZ unscathed I decided to have a closer look and I soon spotted something that required a closer look and I soon spotted something and soon realised it was the cache.
Managed to retrieve the cache, extracted the logbook, signed and then returned the cache back to where I found it. Thanks to edvern for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this spot. TFTC TNLNSL (15315). A great spot for a cache, never being here before and definitely worth the opportunity to have a walk and enjoy nature.
Now it is time to go back to the car and make my way to my next appointment, note to self, next time that I am here to pick up the rest of the caches, I must make sure that I have the correct footwear ................

Afternoon bike ride out to Turitea Road to find these two new caches. Nice little track to walk on to GZ. Thanks edvern for the cache
Found this on our TA thru-hike. This is a beautiful bit of trail. So well maintained; and it's nice to be off the road too!

On the weekend I enjoyed a bike ride out to search for these 2 new caches... and Yay both were straightforward finds.
Thanks for drawing my attention again to this green-corridors project on Te Araroa in our local neighborhood.

Following along the trail to the next cache, the cache owner in tow to give help if needed. No help required as Mr Geckoh went almost immediately to the cache hiding spot and retrieved it. He tucked it away again for Geodatum and Haydn.seek to locate, so as not to spoil their fun). Thank you Edvern for these cache placements and for taking the time to join us all in locating them. We had to keep moving as we still had more caches that we planned to locate today. TFTC

After the Farewell event in the Esplanade a group of us went up to these two new caches. Both had already been found but several other local cachers had attempted them yesterday with chequered luck. But with a group and the C O who kindly offered to accompany us on her bike , and a bit of scrambling around the burnt offerings and the cache was in hand . thanks for these two new caches R.
We were pleased to accept edvern's generous offer at our event today, Bye Bye 2019, to accompany us out to her two new caches here - Wooden Giant and Burnt Wood. We'd failed at both the day before. So a group gathered here with the CO: 3Prettys, haydn.seek, Geckoh and us.
With success at Wooden Giant we headed off to this one, which we'd also failed at yesterday, although we wonder how as we fairly much went straight to it today! Guess yesterday was not our day. The cache was soon signed and returned, and we set off back to the parking, looking forward to some shade on this fine sunny day.
So thanks for bringing us here edvern and showing us this little walkway, and thanks for your help today.

{FTF} at 12:04pm!
On a drizzly day the 3Prettys had a slow start to the day and were enjoying a leisurely brunch when I suddenly realised that there'd been 2 new geocaches published. Mr 3Prettys agreed to a dash out for an FTF hunt, and we were off.
There were no other cars to be seen near the parking area, so we were hopefully to be the first to arrive. At the Wooden Giant we saw a bit of a geotrail, but started our search nonetheless. We gave it about 20 minutes of fruitless search before deciding to head over and give this cache a try. The camouflaged container was quickly found and the log signed.
A real, true FTF, and on the North Island no less!
Thank you for the cache, edvern.
(We tried again at the Wooden Giant, with geodatum who had arrived in the meantime. We gave it another good go, with both men climbing high on the slippery wood, to no avail.)
