Finishing off the Slim Dusty Series with Bliss Baby. We decided to drive close to the cache and made a nice change having the cache near the road. Thanks to the previous finder for replacing this cache for us to find and turning this frown upside down.

Excellent, this series is done and dusted!!! Yesterday I had a couple of leeches but no ticks so far either day. Happy days. Will be a while before I tackle another geoart but having multiple people working on the problems certainly helped.

The replacement cache stood out well - no need for any maintenance on this one.

An interesting puzzle. I tried hard to solve them all myself, but in the end got help with a few from a yellow bird. But this was one of the few higher d ones I managed myself.

19-Dec-22
will be repaired soon

15-Nov-22
Cache clearly missing so we supplied a replacement a little higher than the clue suggests. Still a lot of water lying around. On arrival back at the car, we had 4 ticks each on us so decided not to do any more of the series.

15-Nov-22
This was a bit like trekking into the lost world, the cache was definitely missing & so we provided a replacement and placed higher somewhere above the waterline.

The bit I decided was the “Lost World” part was the amount of ticks we both collected from our wee adventure.

16-Oct-22
Maybe this cache has gone with the recent heavy rains.

Can the co please check.

15-Oct-22
More bush bashing to get to GZ. We had a good search for the cache and think it may have gone in the recent heavy rain.

Maybe the CO can check on this cache.

15-Oct-22
This whole area really looks like it had been sitting under water for sometime although currently dry, contributing to our thoughts of the cache being missing. We had a look at the creek too which was basically a trickle these days. could do with a check please.

Day three of our girls caching weekend road trip to Kempsey to attack the Slim Dusty GeoArt. The amusing thing is we still hadn't attempted one by the time it was to head home again! By the time we needed to leave to return to Brisbane we didn’t want to come back empty handed considering the hours we spent on the weeks beforehand solving puzzles. We picked off two that looked achievable from a close to tracks sense and figured it would enlighten us on what to expect next time terrain wise as some logs had us worried! We arrived at the point in the main track that we would have to beeline through the long grass and over and under fallen trees. Willis007 stopped and froze as just to her left was a red bellied black snake sunning itself. Well! That was almost me done! I was terrified we would encounter more if we left the safety of the track and I needed a few moments to psych myself up for the Bush bash. We strategised if we kept talking, snapping sticks under our boots, stomped occasionally and whacked out walking poles against things we should be loud enough to scare off anything living and make it safely in and out again. This wasn’t an experience I was game to try again on a nice day and so we decided to leave it at that for the art and return in the colder months when everything is hibernating!

So Simber15 and I decided a while ago we would head to Kempsey this long weekend to collect the Slim guitar series. We set about solving the tricky puzzles and collaborated where we ran into challenges. With the whole series solved, we were on our way.
Problem was we kept getting interrupted by beaches, lighthouses, goals and other really cool things along the way. We had heard many in this series were very difficult to find, I think we were spending most of our time circling around the area rather than attacking it.
Anyway, happy to say out of the 65 in the series, we now have 63 left to find Smile
Thanks so much OzGeoMuster for a fabulous puzzle series, I did have a lot of fun solving these and learned many new tricks.

Lake Somerset Trip - Day 1
Heading north with Tardis0061 and picking up some select targets on our way. Didn't have time for the whole series, so cherry picked a handful of the higher D/T offerings. Made the mistake of continuing north along the dirt roads to meet back up with the M1. Lucky we had the right vehicle for the job with plenty of ruts and water features

We decided today to pick up some of this series along with ilook4geo. The program had been carefully worked out. But while heading to the second cache on the list one team member took a very hard face plant so the enthusiasm immediately left and the program went out the window. It was then decided to just go for caches that were not too far from the road, or where the vegetation looked to be reasonably manageable. It was good to pick up a couple that helped to fill spaces on the D/T grid. Some we looked at from the road and decided to move on.
Thanks go to OzGeoMuster for putting out this varies series of caches.

Out caching today with goingplaces2. The day sterted off badly but got better as time went on. Only did a selection of the available caches. Some vegetation was quite a challenge to navigate.
THis was one of the caches we found. TFTC.

This was one of the first puzzles solved and it didn't give any trouble. Sometimes things done in another life are a great help when you least expect it.

Made our way with the MNCM through the bush to #31. The line was fairly strung out but everyone eventually got to GZ.... and back to the waiting cars. Big Grin TFTC OzGeoMuster.

Headed out with teams Dimorgan, Pprass, Ozglory, KWmoo, Bobbiesgirl, Geono and DiamonJs to complete the Slims Hat series. Started at 8.45am and were making great headway then slowed towards the higher numbers but had to rely on the other team members to find the last few due to old age, sore hips, legs, muscles, and all the other ailments relating to Geocachers over the age of 60, which we all were.

Lots of lantana, and razor sharp vines were encountered.
Apart from that a great time was had by all members and we're glad to be able to cross these off our to do list.

We found your geocache at 12:21 p.m. on the 3 October 2020. This is #5801 for us. ??

03-Oct-20
I saw that the MNCM were planning an assault on Slim again and decided to join it. Some parts of it were about what I imagined from previous posts, some weren't bad but then you went back to the really we have to do that. Thanks for a great series. TFTC

03-Oct-20
Found with pprass, DiMorgan, coongoola, ozglory, KWmoo, Bobbiesgirl, DiamonJs and geono.
Log signed as MNCM to represent our large group.
In total we found 37 caches today, the terrain was very tough but we made it out alive with just a tick and a blown out boot the only snags.
Thanks for the cache

03-Oct-20
Found with pprass, coongoola, ozglory, huskymaddog, KWmoo, Bobbiesgirl, DiamonJs and geono.
Log signed as MNCM to represent our large group from around the area.
Our plan was to pick up pprass at 7.30am & proceed to the meeting point. Thought we would be one of the 1st to arrive but were surprised that we were the 2nd last to arrive, geono arriving the previous day & had set up camp over night.
Started with our DNF from our previous trip out here. With all the preperation done by pprass we continued along the well planned track with all the drop off & pick up points having been organised.
We were all pleased when the lunch time location was arrived at & all had time to refresh & prepare for the rest of the series. The ache & pains & stiff joints started to show up but the job was to finish what had been started.
It was the very last cache of the day that pprass claimed his 30,000 find.
We returned back to our starting point for photos. Glad to have completed the series some of the others have to return another day.
Thankyou OzGeoMuster for all the puzzles & the amazing art work that has been placed in the our area.
This is certainly a series to remember.

The first section done and dusted - 6 sections and 26 caches to go!
Thanks OzGeoMuster.

A massive day out attacking the Slim Dusty Trail with other teams from the Mid North Coast Dimorgan, Pprass, Ozglory, Bobbiesgirl, Coongoola, Huskymaddog, DiamonJs and Geono. Logs signed MNCM. Today I added another 32 finds to those I had already ticked off. Terrain was tough going in places with thick lantana and vines but we all survived, albeit with lots of scratches and a few sore muscles. Thanks for placing this series!

03-Oct-20
After missing the first assault on the Slim Dusty Trail I was determined not to miss this one, so was happy to be part of the MNCM (Mid North Coast Mob). Have had the puzzles solved for ages and was keen to make a start, but don't think our trusty Commodore would have been up to the task for these. Certainly was an effort in that thick terrain, some parts were easier than others and for once I only came away with one small scratch, some sort of record for me. The copy and paste logs do not retract from my appreciation of the effort involved in creating the double geoart and the puzzles.

03-Oct-20
Let me start by thanking the cache owner for the time and effort they have put into caching for ourselves and others to enjoy.

Most will be cut and paste logs but in no way does that mean we don't appreciate your efforts
At the end of day 2 my gps reset its self and in the process deleted all my comments so I can't really remember which was what. sorry
Also forgat to say found with Staybe and co.

The series of caches from #28 to #31 moved well away from the nearest road. The road looked okay at first. Sue, suffering from a leg injury, drove the car around to #32 whilst Dan enjoyed a bushbash picking up these 4 caches. Unfortunately, the road got very narrow and bumpy and had some muddy puddles which tested Sue's nerves. The bush between #30 and #31 got a bit thicker. TFTC

Attempting this series with Wazza9 today, ended up finding 38 caches, this is not an easy series, firstly some of the puzzles were challenging and then the terrain is not easy for this nana. Glad I had a walking pole to get through the vines and lantana. 1 leech got a feed of my blood, lucky I thought more would be out there. No snakes to seen thank goodness. Stamped all logs and replaced, thanks to OzGeoMuster.

TFTC,
Doing a generic log today.
Heading north and have made Kempsey our first base, here for 3 nights but only caching along this series today.
Worked all the puzzles for the Geoart at home and must admit that we obtained some help with a few very difficult ones. We started at #11 and continued to the next closest all the time.
It is by no means a walk in the park and while the caches have been visited by others, there are several caches that you need a special very strong TOTT to make your way through the growth. Given the new Lantana growth, I wouldn't like to be out there in a month. Many cuts caused by the Lawyer Vine and at one cache where you have to cross a creek, I went down to both knees in what I thought would be solid soil.
Came across BackTrac and Money Penny and had a chat before moving on to complete 38 caches. Started about 9.30am and called it a day at 3.30pm. All but one are in good condition and within 5m of where our GPS's took us. It was 11m away.

As travel restrictions lifted I was keen to stretch my wings/legs, PelDroedGwin and I hopped in the geoKombi and headed to Kempsey.

I wouldn't call myself a Slim Dusty fan but I loved this series of puzzles.

Day 1 saw us pick up 17 caches and this one was the forth.

A fun afternoon with Team Canary, Brewmaker and a delegation of GOM's

I always enjoy puzzles that aren't number based yet I needed a little nudge for this one

With travel restrictions over, we headed to Kempsey Tourist Park for the long weekend for a great weekend with good caching buddies and grumpy old mates for company. Our mission was to complete as much of the Slim Dusty series as we could. We enjoyed the puzzles and this enjoyable walk through the bush. Most logs signed as BM/TB/TC/PDG.
