A beautiful spot and a quick find with the good clue. TFTC!Cheers,The Hancock Clan
Hi 2y'stassies. Today we found your cache on the Devo trip for the year. VK7HCH and I hatched yet another plan to whip it up to the north to continue our plundering of caches both GC and GCA. As there are so many caches in this area we had freedom of choice to do those we wished to. We have solved a few puzzles so we can find those and lots of others. Although I didnt find the girl U want, the caches were enough. Its a beautiful world here in Tassie. Thanks for hiding the cache for us to find today. Finding this cache takes my GC finds to 5209 and I found it on Friday 25 Oct 2024FTF: NoMates: VK7HCHMuggles: Condition: GoodWeather: slightly cloudyMy favorites:Creative - Back to the future 1 by peaches (GCA5JYD)Hardest - Men in Black Holes by SG-3 (Archived)Most visited - Dragons Lair by Shagzter (GC2E33)Tractable also visited your cache
Thanks 2y'stassies for placing Moorland Wander 07. Swampy and I headed back to plunder more of the Northern coast over the Hobart Show long weekend. 4 day long weekend for 1 days annual leave. Sweet. This is day 2. Devonport and surrounds. At least my log is not full of bad 80s references. This run has us finding both GC and GCA caches. So many caches, so little time. This is my GC find #2154 and was found on 25/10/2024 at 17:25FTF: Found with: SwampyWeather: fairMuggles: noneLight level: goodCache condition: goodDistance from GZ: Your cache was visited by my trackables: TB9QQD2, TB9KZ39 and TB7HH81
We continued on to this one and I was very happy to make the find here. Found exactly where the hint said it would be. Thanks for ongoing maintenance. TFTC 2ystassies
The cache had gone, almost certainly a victim of gale force winds driving the sea onto that part of the shore. The cache has been replaced. It has also been relocated a short distance to give better protection. The coordinates and hint have been updated.
Coordinates changed from:S 41 9.609 E 146 26.980Coordinates changed to:S 41 9.612 E 146 26.975Distance from original: 29.4 feet or 9.0 meters.Hopefully the cache will have better protection here from the elements.
Following in footsteps of bluerentit previously, also could not find. Used walking pole to try and dig under cement. No luck. For a small. This one should have been easy ?
(Tuesday 21 Nov 2023 @ 12:16)I normally don't say... "It's definitely missing" but i reckon this one just 'might' be.I checked underneath the hinted area and unless it's buried in the ground some 3 or more inches i didn't see it after inspecting all the small rocks under the concrete and even the big rocks to be sure. I will keep an eye on the next log here re: this one I loved the beach though and that friendly 2WD access to it... No boggy sand here just gravel road then wet sand straight away. It even had me thinking "should i drive to them or just walk" ... the latter won out TFT Challenge anyways
Found it! Nice one for our little kids to find while taking the dog out for a run...
The weather has deteriorated but we are still out caching. Sadly only found 2 Of 4 caches we looked for. The vegetarian was so high at a couple of the caches. Have put this down to the 2 dnf. TFTC
atching up on some very old logs while traveling, in this great area of Tassie. Found while out and about exploring the area.
Enjoyed another in the Mooreland Beach series and made a quick find.
Thanks 2y'stassies for placing the hide for us to find.

An overcast and breezy day for a refreshing walk on Moorlands Beach. Cache is still in great condition and dry with its own pen.
Another quick find! Some people fishing here and a lot of horse tracks sadly I missed the horse! I left the cache with some extra rocks as it was a little short!
Thanks for the find

Out and about caching with all the Rafas for our holidays TFTC TNLN log dry, an easy find at GZ, a beautiful day in the north of the state.
Thanks for the cache 2y'stassies.
Spending a few days in the northwest with RLD4963 and the two GeoGSP's.

I had only a few hours left before I had to catch the Tasmanian Spirit back to the mainland, and I was hunting the T3 cache in this series. It wasn't until I relaxed the cache terrain filter on my GPS that I saw the rest of this series.
I quickly found this one before setting off to #3, but soon found the bush too thick to get through and find the cache in the time remaining. Maybe I'll try again next time I get down here. I enjoyed my 2 weeks down here so I'm sure I'll retturn some day.
Thanks for the cache.

I am finally finishing this lovely series that has taken me on a great walk all along this part of the coast, on two different occasions. Managed to get my finds done before the after school/work rush hour with lots of dog walkers coming down. A favourite point given for the series, the location and the effort in placing all these caches. Thanks 2y'stassies.
Found nice and easy..
Lovely day for a walk on moorlands beach..few cars on the beach.. horse exercising and couple walking their dog very busy beach..

Out and about caching with whitewebbs, it was a nice calm day to walk this track, but very overgrown in parts.
Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Out and about caching with Tassie Trekkers in the area and this was one that we found from two series we had targeted, the Moorland series and Pardoe series. The Moorland series were a test as had to result to crawling on hands and knees to get through the overgrown track in parts. Luckily all the caches were found. Once on the Pardoe track walking was a lot easier and it was a pleasant ramble collecting the caches along the way. The weather was perfect for the task set today. Lots of muggles and their dogs were on the beach and we only came across one on the track. TFTC
Quick find but needed a stick to get it out. This was the last of these caches we found as the track for the next ones was too overgrown for us. Thanks for the short walk and couple of finds.
We had planned to tackle this series this afternoon, however with the tide coming in & the beach full of muggles, we opted to just get the “easy” ones!
It is such a shame to see this are so overgrown. It used to be a favourite place for Mrs Coder to visit with friends, riding horses up and down the beach, or walking with the dogs.
It was great to still see this happening. Thanks for the cache!

Well, the weather man was right today. We had this little sortie planned in advance, so with the very necessary coffee making equipment on board we headed to Moorlands for a business like grab for this series. This is the order in which we did them, and Mrs rhubarbroad went and put her hands on #7 while we waited for the GPS thingy to get itself organised. All caches in the series found, and all in good nick. Thanks for your recent check and rehabilitation of #8.
nother day off from and I decided it would be worth trying to clean up a few dnfs in Devonport and doing the moorland walk for a second time. Left Hobart at 7am with geo kid e in tow. Weather was fine in Hobart as apparently it was all day. Stopped, refilled car and got breakfast on the way in Kempton. A very nice egg and bacon sandwich to fuel to day.
Back on the road again, with geo kid’s nose in his Nintendo ds and me following that dotted line that has become common Again over the last forthright.
Just past Oatlands some dark clouds and the first sign of some rain. This cleared up by around Campbell town.
My second drive of the new road by passing Perth. It’s a very clean and easy way through the area. Have to give this a tick of approval.
As we approached Devonport there was some dark clouds, but these past over before arriving at the moorlands end of the track... started with the first few caches on the eastern end and then walked along to the western end. This track is very poor. Trees down in many places and simply a difficult walk along the “track” .... and I use the word track very loosely.
Eventually got all the caches and fought back out to the beach, the walk along the beach was a lot easier. All coordinates were good except for number 8 which was about 10 metres out according to my gps on the day.
Anyway little drive around to the other track and started by collecting the few that I didn’t attempted due to the rain last time, and then the cache “waiting for the ferry - gnarled and old tree” which I dnfed last time. Nice to get this one of the list.
Next it was the walk to the point.... interestingly one of the caches I found was very familiar.... coastal walk... which was found to be familiar as my name was already in the log book.... I must have found it and not logged my find. Oh well, at least I can mark it off now.
Most of these caches were fairly simple. 7 provided a problem as it was fairly well buried.
Walking back to the car was easier as we left a few caches to walk to, so the walk back had something to do.
From there we went to Devonport to get rid of some dnfs and a few adventure labs. 4 ways was nice to mark off along with the last of the walkway caches. Grabbed lunch while at 4 ways, and it started to rain while eating in the car. I said this is probably a shower.
Well. How wrong was I. It continued to rain for the rest of the day. A few small breaks allowed us to grab a few adventure caches without getting to wet, but quite a few we had to simply brave the elements to get the caches. Really enjoyed the adventure caches in Devonport and the bonus caches.
As it was raining heavily by the time we finished the adventure caches, we drove towards port Sorell to grab the 5 or so new caches out on the roads around there before heading for Perth to grab the nice little cache in the wetlands.
From there a quick detour to Launceston work office, and then off towards home. 46 caches I believe for the day.
As we pasted Oatlands would you believe it stopped raining.... weird it was only rain8ng north of Oatlands.
Arrived home at 7.30 which is an early day for caching in the north of the state.

Soon found the hide but expect cache had moved by high tides or rough weather as it was easily spotted up against the large rock on seaward side.
Replace back under and blocked by small rocks...cache still in good order.
While Murder would have happily kept going past the gate..it was time for me to call it a day.
Thoroughly looking forward to completeing this series.
Been an exc days caching... Many thanks FTC 2y'stassies...cheers ST.

This one was a quick find but took a long time till it could be retrieved due to the many muggles in the area.
A much nicer day than the forecast predicted meant every man and his dog decided to come to Moorlands Beach today.
Thanks.

This was a bit of a hard slog with the path being much worse than I remembered it, if I had know it was this bad I would have brought a whipper snipper, pruning saw and a chainsaw with me!
With 5 pairs of eyes most of these hides were an easy find, the highlight of these caches was briefly meeting up with Spreyton22 near the end of this run of caches.
This was a trip North primarily to meet up with some fellow cachers we had not seen in a very long time, Friday afternoon myself and Gooseandegg set off from Hobart to stay in Ulverstone for the night before meeting up with TazScout for a couple of days of caching along the North/Northwest Coast, we hadn't put much planning into it to be honest, with restrictions lifted we just wanted to catch up with some good friends and have a laugh.
Half of the caches we planned to find I had found some of before when they were listed as GCA caches and some of them even had their old containers with the GCA listing numbers in them, others were new series that had been put out since I was last up this way and we did our best to find as many as we could in the short time we had.
Thanks for all the caches

Last time we were in this area we were looking for the trig point and a ranger came along and accused us of destroying middens and we abandoned our search. Today the boys found the trig and the girls found this cache.
(I did not see any sign of a midden)
Thanks 2y'stassies

Staying with friends in Devonport, so thought we might go for a beach walk (with a bit of caching ).
Just as we arrived the heavens opened at it started pouring. Waited a while till it eased off, donned raincoat and set off, just as it started raining again.
Made a quick find and jumped in car and came home..

Today gridge98 and I headed to the North west to do the moorland trail, another trail in Devonport and a few around Latrobe. A great day out, this cache was found along the way.
Apologies for the late and generic log.

I saw this series publish when I was in Adelaide and by the DT combos it was in my list to do on my next trip to the state, on arrival today we soon saw why this trail is barely walked, it needs a nice trim as it’s very overgrown, we slowly found the caches getting into more dense bush as we went but it was a great adventure and great to put this track to use, all the caches were found in great condition and silver to us.
Today nettieknows and myself headed to the Mersey/Devonport area to collect some new and unfound caches in the area. We tackled the new moorland series, Victoria bridge to town series and a few around Latrobe. It’s great to get out and about in such a time we live in.
Thanks for the cache
