Seems to be gone....and sadly I am unable to get down here at present. Time to go....
Out walking the dog. People playing cricket in the nets so hard to be stealthy. Had a look at the bottom of a few fenceposts but no luck!
Lots of muggles to dodge so I took the long way to get to the cache (at least, that is the story I am using. Nothing to do with my GPS taking time to settle at all). No one around when I got there I hired a car to run a bunch of errands, Went to Paraparaumu for most of the day then came down this way to do a maintenance check on one of my caches. That done, back to caching for myself!
Not being very familiar with the area, I am pleased I approached from the direction I did. Nice hide, quick find on a lovely day. TFTC
Was unsure if I would find it reading previous logs but using logic soon had it in hand. Looking at the terrain difficulty is a hint.
Glad to find this in an area searched once before when it was missing. Definitely best to visit after summer! TFTC
Always nice to turn a frown upside down! No worries this time. Nice quick find - yay! Quite tricky... but easy to get to... once you do see it! TFTC Supernanny and BFG
This was our first attempt at geocahing and we couldn't find anything, we looked at every fence post in the area. Maybe we just need more practice
It was quite a while ago since I logged a DNF on this but not many logs ago. It's been one of those few blue frowns that occasionally taunt me on the map but I'd not really had the opportunity to rectify. It seems two relatively new cachers had no problem finding what I could not then it went missing anyway? Since BFG seems to have very recently done some on-behalf maintenance I thought I'd better try and find while its likelihood of being there was very high. Conveniently I was in Wellington today not all that far away and the weather just perfect for this cache. A couple of spots of rain and, most importantly, no cricketers. But the cache was a quick find anyway. No amount of stealth would allow retrieval from here with activity in the nets so I lucked out there. Good to finally turn this into a smiley. TFTC.
Out finding some solved Mystery caches today.
I called by here on the way. A short walk and a quick find of the shiny new log sheet.

Replaced on behalf of CO, this time with bison on the fence… hope it lasts longer this time! Time for me to claim too, cheers supernannny
Checked around the fence posts as per description but no luck. Couldn’t find anything that remotely resembled a hiding spot so left
Checked out where the co-ords were pointing and along each side. But nope, not today.
Was out trying to solve a puzzle cache with no luck, didn't want to go home empty handed so tried my luck with this one, success.
The GPS led me to an obvious spot that looks like there should be a cache there but not today. Had a quick look around to see if any other locations were even candidates and I decided there weren't. I just realized I was looking for the wrong size too so that probably explains a lot.
Backward square for the left hander in the nets. The bowler informed me it was his mum’s cache. Maybe I’m not as stealthy as I thought I was!
#1417. That was easy - I drove my grandson Xav to practice tonight for his Brooklyn Cyclones team, so about time I picked up this cache. Coordinates spot on. And of course Xav knows Freddie and his father (his former coach), supernannny’s son.

Finding a car park for this cache turned out to be ridiculously hard but after finding one we made our way to GZ on foot. The cricket nets turned out to be really busy today... but as we approached them it turned out that my geo-buddy Demainiac knew the guys at the nets. This naturally led to a confession as to why we were there and an educational moment regarding this crazy hobby/game that we play. A nice quick find here thanks supernannny. So the log book has been signed and the cache is nicely back in its spot all ready for the next geo-hunter. Thanks heaps for taking the time to set up this cache. I appreciate your efforts in doing so. A belated Merry Christmas! TFTC!
Like others I found the Skindo cache from the A-Z series close by. Surprised to see the classrooms in the park today. Not many people around - must be all out of town for the Christmas break. A nice quick find tonight. TFTC.
Not the most pleasant of conditions but I wanted to fill a December dot day and this was the closest cache (which I've been saving for a dot day). A very quick find and all cache in good condition.
I hope the summer improves, so Freddie can get to play lots of cricket!

While in the area we decided to look for this cache. School had just finished for the day so there were some muggles in the park but the GZ location was good. Thanks CO for the cache.
#8338. I was over in Brooklyn this morning on an overcast showery day. Perfect weather for geocaching in an urban park as no one was around except me. The place looked very familiar to me and I see it was where skindo hid his now archived V@Vogeltown cache GC3PKCP, just a few metres away from the GZ of the new cache. There were a choice of several places to hide the new cache and I found it in the second place I checked. Nice touch with the tweezers as logs can be hard to get out of these containers. Signed and replaced everything as found. Thanks supernannny for taking the time to place a cache here. Hope Freddie continues to enjoy his cricket even though its been disrupted this year due to COVID19.
I swung by here a couple of weeks ago and discovered that the nearby school has encroached on the park. As it was school hours I thought it better to leave this one for another day.
By the time I got to this spot it was after 3pm so I felt OK heading over towards the GZ, and went straight to a familiar corner (this was the location of one of Skindo's A:Z caches and the first one in the series I found). Nothing there but I noticed my GPS was still some metres away so headed in the right direction and found the cache hiding away there. All good here. TFTC

There was quite a lot of activity near this site in the form of youngsters on bicycles. However, I was able to complete my mission without incident.
Found with 10YO and Pup. A quick find on a nice sunny afternoon. I wasn't particularly stealthy and was spotted by Freddie and his Dad who were there practicing today. TFTC
There's always time to sneak in just one more acahe before bad light stops play. After dropping off BFG at his residence, I headed on over here to see if I could catch this one in its second innings. A brief fumble at the boundary, and voila! Tftc.
Found with @peadub on a rainy afternoon. Been trying to get this one for some time as it's out closest cache. I was saddened that it got muggled at its original placement. New location is a better hiding place at this normally busy little park and an easy find. Thanks for the tweezers! Signed log and replaced where found. TFTC
It seems that one of GC's "improvements" has been the removal of the ability to attach coordinates to a log.
My averaged coordinates are as follows

A quick find thanks to the description and agcnz's log.
I have to admit I had to look up the word "gully" in this context, I should be ashamed as my grandfather was a well respected English cricketer player (and also represented England at rugby league) but the gene didn't seem to get passed on! His cricket results from when he played for Leeds used to be on the web but seem to have disappeared.
I suggest using the Coleridge Street entrance rather than the Ridgeway owing to the temporary schoolrooms, even though it is holidays there were children using the playground. Coleridge St also has handy parking for those who need it.
I will list averaged coordinates.

OMG..that's terrible about my co ords!
I would appreciate it if anyone local can get accurate co ords, let me know and I'll change them.
Please in meantime just go by hint...base of a fence post.
Big apologies!

A beautiful fine and calm Wellington winter day today so I decided to go for a long walk from home with this cache as my target in an attempt to redeem a previous DNF. Arrived and found that the GPSr was pointing me 13 metres down a bank into thick gorse; however the information provided made the cache a quick find in the first place checked. All in good condition, and a much better hide this time - this one should last a lot longer! After replacing the cache I continued my walk down to Newtown for a coffee, finding my way along lots of back streets, rights of way, and tracks through a park or so. Very pleasant, first time I have explored here on foot. Signed log, TFTC!
Good find, and a discrete placement The tweezers in the container are a nice touch! Tftc!

I feel this is a more sensible position.....and not near the nets which are often very busy

Sorry....this place is not suitable after all as 2 caches have been stolen...
Need to re think.
Need to re think.
Finally got a chance to search with no muggles around after several aborted attempts.
Still no find after a search all around the feature in question.

Unable to do a proper search as there was a council vehicle parked nearby with someone in it. Did manage a quick discreet look and couldn't spot the cache.
Here's hoping the Council employee didn't remove it but as I couldn't check properly it may still be there.
An interesting diversion was provided by a dog with a stick in its mouth wanting to play fetch, I would have been willing but its owner preferred that he did the honours and not me!

New bison was put in place by Freddie tonight.
Hope it stays a bit longer this time!
Best to go just on dusk as it is a very well used set up here...
Or else during school hours maybe.
Go the Tornados...!

I wasn't hopeful here as if agc can't find it it would be rare if not unheard of for me to find it!
Thought I would give it a go anyway but no success after quite a wide search.
Have texted the CO so I can check further if needed, only a short bus journey for me to get back.

9am on a Sunday morning was a good time to be here, I had the place to myself. Unfortunately no cache for me today despite the GPSr consistently leading me to a plausible spot. Widened the search and still no luck. Either I'm blind or it's not there.
