What a wonderful find And a big wave from the security guard, even though it was late at night.Deserves a well deserved FPTFTC

25-Oct-24
Visiting the Adelaide region for a week from Port Macquarie. Today was a different kind of a day. The youngest Husky went off for a very long walk, meandering in and around the CBD area, targeting many caches and a lot of adventure lab checkpoints. Over 40,000 steps were walked in total, which worked out to be a smidge over 30kms. Meanwhile, the two elder Huskies opted for a more relaxing day to rest and recover, hanging close to base with a handful of finds in between some shopping and a cafe lunch. An incredibly productive and most importantly, fun caching day, which if including AL's in the total, made for our biggest day of finds ever. We are all thoroughly loving Adelaide.Decided on a break from the CBD for a bit so headed on the tram to Hindmarsh, mainly for the library wherigo, but upon realising that I still had the necessary TOTT in my pack after needing it in the Barossa yesterday, I decided to take up the opportunity. Opened in a jiffy with no muggles about. FP given. Thanks for the cache

#24280. We very much appreciated having the CO drive us to a few caches this morning (we were a bit footsore after doing a lot of walking in the last few days). This cache was well worth a visit, and was in good working order. Thanks for bringing us here.

07-Oct-24
We were lucky enough to be chauffeured to GZ by the CO himself, and he even supplied the item required to unlock the cache. Cool as! Gave a wave to the security guard who was rather close to GZ (though on the other side of the window). She had never seen the cache in action before, so popped out to have a closer look at and even had a go at opening it herself.A fav of course. TFTC.

After the Leap year event earlier this year and having a play with a few gadget caches I decided to have a go with the help of pie_mom and offwiththefaries at this byob cache. A nice simple gadget cache on this nice evening while listening to what some people call music being played at the gov! Gave the security guard who was watching the footy an obligatory smile. Tftc

23-Mar-24
Found this cache with making pie and pie_mom. I've not seen a cache like this before as I'm fairly new to geocaching. Tftc.

23-Mar-24
This has been on my must do list for a long time. Finally here at a time I could stop and park. A straightforward find at GZ. A quiet night for the security guard, apart from the music from the Gov. Finally I can stop driving around with a battery in my car. Out with makingpie and Offwiththe_fairies.

Travelled to SA to attend The Great Leap of and cache around the area with our group - 5 for QLD . We tried to get as many caches as possible, we did have a list but that didn't work too well as others kept popping up in areas that we went through. My first visit to SA so has a fantastic time . 10-Mar-24
After over seven weeks on the road, I'm back home and finally catching up on all my logging.Caching in South Australia was fantastic, so many good hides to find, and we found ourselves zigzagging all over the place doing lots of geoart but of course ran out of time to get everything done on our to-do list. The majority of caches we found were in great condition and well maintained, which is a credit to all the CO's who placed them, so thank you.Our logs were mostly signed as 5 for QLD to save room on the log sheets, and no doubt, we'll be back again in the future ??

10-Mar-24

MeAndDe and showed me video of this cache over in WA a little while ago, so when I caught up with them at the leap mega they asked if wed like to come along to this one. They still had the TOTT needed in the car. Before you know it a small group had formed and we all met at GZ in a posse. Being night time Im sure it looked pretty suss. I had the honour of opening the gadget to reveal the cache container and it was handed around for all to log. Signed as the SADDLE club for teams Shazzar66, AtTheLakeHouse, Duppers Delightful Leap Excursion - or something like that!

Adelaide day four: Teamed up with RoamingHowie, Papi4506 & Geoturtle37 to find some caches of interest. Having heard so much about Roymerc caches (yes, a trip to Denmark is definitely on my bucket list), we decided to visit this cache next. Armed with the required tott, we found the cache and soon had the logbook in hand. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, Brad&Janet ~~

02-Mar-24
After attending the St Claire CITO event, I turned my attention to some nearby physical caches in the area. I have spent little time in this area so there was an abundance of caches from which to choose. All caches found without problems and in good condition unless stated otherwise. What an awesome cache. I came prepared with the correct TOTT and the logbook was accessed without problems. Definitely worthy of another favourite point. Thanks for the cache roymerc (with Brad&Janet).# # SmileSmile #14249 SmileSmile # #

29-Feb-24
Over from Perth for a few days to attend the Leap Day Mega. And today is the day! After an enjoyable few hours at the event itself I headed off for a drive around picking up some target caches with the aim to get a good mix of types and sizes. Kicking myself that I've previously done both the webcams on previous trips over... so a leapday find for that type will have to wait a little longer!! Coming from WA how could I possibly pass up the chance to pick up a cache which honours the legendary roymerc Smile I even packed the necessary TOTT for the trip over! All quiet here on my visit, so a nice easy find was made. A fave point of course. TFTC

6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to preparing an 18-day project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the famous Mega.During our stay we will log PestiHoot for Pestinette and Blackhoot.During our 5 days in Adlade, we visited the centre and around while following the caches and labs. We resolved some mysteries before our trip. We made some great discoveries and great experiences.Good cache. Thanks to the caches we visited many sites evoking Australian culture and history. Thanks for the cache and the discovery of beautiful or original spots

Out for a long stroll on the same day as the mega event. This was my first geocache for the day.I was lucky as there were others there before me, so I didnt even have to get my required tools out.Nice.

Having visited Denmark, W.A. and experienced a number of roymerc geocaches there, I wasn't going to miss out on this one! Luckily, I still had the same 12V battery in the glove box of our car (suitably stored, of course) from our time in Denmark so off we went. I may have mentioned the cache, and our battery, to a few others at the nearby event 'cause it got a little crowded at GZ. I'm not sure there was a security guard at the desk while we were there but if there was, I bet he was having a good laugh at all of us! ??A favorite because it's a roymerc cache, and we love 'em!Thanks for find #5450TNLN

AtTheLakeHouse, Shazzar66 and I have travelled from South East Queensland to Adelaide to attend the Adelaide Leap Day Mega. Shazzar66 & I arrived this afternoon and once we were picked up by ATLH, we commenced our epic well-curated list of cache finds. Our list includes Oldies, good D/Ts, Webcams, Challenges, and any other caches that caught our interest. This particular cache wasnt on our list, but when we heard mentioned the CO and the particularly special caches that were produced. A group of us headed to the cache, one of the group bringing along the TOTT necessary. On arrival, the cache was promptly opened and the log book signed. For us it was signed, SADDLE. Lots of us took a turn at opening the cache. I would enjoy doing more of this COs caches, and will have a look to see, although Im not sure that they are close to home. Thanks, roymerc, for the work on this cache, and also to Brad&Janet.

We have arrived in Adelaide for the MEGA Leapyear 2024.We were last time in Adelaide in 2004 so it was about time to refresh our memories and get couple of more caches. This was one of them. We had the opportunity to join a couple of friendly cachers who we met before on several occasions. This was our first cache with this type of field puzzle. A fav point from me!Tftc roymerc (with Brad&Janet)

Whhoops..Forgot to log this on the day. Apologies for the late log!
In town to do the Alice in Wonderland Event in Adelaide, To save us the headache and cost of parking in the city we took advantage of the free tram from the Entertainment centre and parked there. ($5 for a whole day! Bargain!) And the added bonus was a roymerc cache close by! Sadly we didn't have the required ToTT so while in Adelaide doing the event we made sure to grab one. On return to the carpark we made the find with Shandyk. Another classic BYOB cache by the master, and of course a much deserved fav point. Thanks Brad&Janet for resurrecting and placing this one closer to home! TFTC

08-May-22
Find 1 of 18 on a busy caching day in central Adelaide then out to Mount Lofty, first by a combination of e-scooter and urban walking, then later lots of up and down hiking.

Our main target for the day. Where it all started, in Denmark - back in 2012, this was our first ever BYOB find and the first time we were wowed by a cache. It was jolly lovely to see it again!

First cache we have ever been able to give two favourite points to!

Left you A Pathtag and dropped a TB.

TFTC Brad&Janet!

26-Feb-22
We parked nearby to attend a Fringe show, then caught the tram to town for more Fringing. We bought the required TOTT and made our way to the cache, waved to the security guard, picked up the TB and signed the log.

The guard came out for a chat, concerned that it hadn't been accessed for a while.

Well worthy of a favoutite, thanks for bringing it here and placing it in an easily accessible place.

17-Jan-22
Yay. Found it. Many thanks for the smiley! I’ve been meaning to stop here on the way home from work for ever (or 18 months). Yesterday I had to purchase yet another TOTT to find a similar cache in the Barossa and since the nearby restaurant is shut on mondays parking was generous tonight and no excuse. A favourite point for sure.

After finally completing my DT grid, after just 9 years !? What’s my next challenge? With demands on my shared car with the Monkey and my Mum suffering declining health, caching is quite focussed at the moment. With a few outstanding signed challenges (500 puzzles-grrr, 50 large caches and flashlight required)

Thank you for placing it for us to find. Thank you for contributing to the geo map and maintaining when needed. All the best for the festive season and fingers crossed we can all enjoy 2022. TFTC

Hoppin' with the Froghoppin duo and Jack today!

Almost a media promotion event.. did wonder if it should have been channel 9v though...

Brought two totts. Luckily one had more potential than the other Razz

A neat little cache - and yes, we did wave to the security guy who was doing his best to ignore us!

Thanks for putting this one out there Brad&Janet Smile Fav for not being a mint tin Wink

All the Geocaches are located and logged using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S20+, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck! Please do stay safe when caching.
Lookout for mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, wild goats, wombats, bulldust, and lightning,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins... but especially lookout for bugs. [xx(]

A trip to Adelaide with team Mattycat had us in this area of town, a opportunity to clear some solved puzzles off our list and collect a few other types (trad, multi, earth, wherigo, letterbox, lab and even a GCA) in the area today, armed with the right TOTT we arrived at GZ found the cache first TOTT was a fizzer but the backup TOTT did the treat, made our mark and waved to the guard on the way out

Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. Twisted So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers to single digits. Cool That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]

Didn't need anything for the calendar today but it was a Wednesday Walkies day for members of befuddled puzzle solvers. [^] Today it was Blackadders, S.A. sewer Rats and myself wandering the burbs for a few newer caches and a couple of solved puzzles. Cool

I brought the correct TOTT. I waved to the security man who gave me a knowing smile. [^] I used the correct TOTT and soon had the cache in hand. Smile Clever construction gets another FP. [:X]

We noticed that this cache was nearby when we were looking for other caches in the area. Locating the cache was straightforward and equipped with the appropriate TOTT, we soon had access to the logbook. This cache is magnificently designed, constructed and presented. The cache and contents were in good condition. It certainly earns a favourite from us. Thanks roymerc for a great cache and to Brad&Janet for arranging the installation in Adelaide.

Thanks for the cache! I love a creative hide we waved to the security guard and made our final find for the day on our way home.

Had a nice day out with JJ52, allisterw, and erine14. We set out in the morning form down south, found some caches in the morning, attended the excellent 10th Geostuff birthday event in Nuriootpa, and then found some more caches! 34 finds in total, including my 2200th!

I called up Trail06 to see if he was interested in doing a cache. Of course he was.

I didn't realise that there was soccer on nearby so parking was more difficult than I'd anticipated.

We made our way to GZ and using the TOTT quickly had the logbook in hand.

Excellent cache and in fact my 3rd of this type in a week.

11-Nov-20
This evening, jesswrigley and I visited the area around Hindmarsh and Thebarton. The objective was the *Hindmarsh History* Adventure Lab, and we also walked around the area to find a few physical geocaches. An enjoyable and balmy evening to be out and about.

Our final geocache find for the evening, and a field puzzle that I had wanted to do with jesswrigley. It didn't take us long to locate the box, even though its description was detailed and I hadn't read that part. I remembered to bring the required TOTT with me, and it very quickly/reliably worked in order to show us the inner cache container. It was very well constructed, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. My only criticism is its listed size - Is it large sized? I would have said that it is more on the regular side of things. Otherwise, I enjoyed TOTT #7 being nicely themed with the building. I hope this lasts for a long time here. Thanks roymerc and Brad&Janet for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. Easily worthy of a Favourite Point!
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

What better way to waste some all too short time while in Adelaide than to go caching.

Having done a few of the roymerc BYOB caches while in Denmark I knew what was expected and what to expect here. I was prepared and not disappointed. This cache is well worth a favourite point.

Thanks for the cache roymerc and Brad&Janet.

Wandered across from the nearby event with bluewrentit and sushilord, and previous finder Doctor Owl. Sushilord had the required TOTT and Doctor Owl stood sufficiently far away for everything to work:-). Thanks for the fun cache roymerc and Brad&Janet!

At a nearby event for Cows Wink it was decided that 4 of us walk over to this one as it was catching on with others doing a nearby MultiCache aswell Big Grin (I think they wanted to walk off the very tasty food at the fun event WinkBig Grin)

The cache was found quickly having a previous finder with us Smile and the relevant TOTT was with us. The cache was open in a jiffy and we were SL at 13:30 on Tuesday the 27th of October 2020. The Security Guard was in Stealth Mode as he
/ she wasn't at their desk at the time of the find lol Big Grin

Have a Favourite Point for this awesome creation Smile I loved the red 7 on it, very fitting lol Big Grin

Owl collected SA Sewer Rats for a girls' caching day out, which then needed a plus one after the Owlmobile collected an unwanted screw in a car park (with a DNF to add insult to injury!) Blackadders added an extra pair of eyes and some more chatter to the day and a good time was had by all. This was the 4th DNF rectified today and it was quite clear from the Snake's TOTT just needing to be in the vicinity of the cache that the CO has created a devilishly complicated anti-Owl device, as the last 2 TOTTs she brought here failed to open the cache and a 3rd one was lost at the supermarket. Just as long as he doesn't pass the secret onto other COs!

22-Oct-20
I have had this in my list to do since it was published. I knew what TOTT was required for this cache and today being in the city I stopped by the shop to pick one up.

A quick tram ride and soon was at GZ, the cache was easily spotted and the cache popped straight open without an issue at all. The cache was stamped and returned as found.

Although the concept is simple the execution was fantastic, gets a fav from me.

Thanks for the cache Brad&Janet and I hope to see more of these

This Saturday, we were in the area, so I brought J to GZ, for her to try. She liked it too.
Sorry Doctor Owl, but it did open easily.

This is becoming a nemesis cache for Owl - not because she can't find it, but because it refuses to open for her. Last attempt she had a defective TOTT. Today, with a fresh one out of the packet it still didn't open. Even the security guard shrugged in puzzlement. A PaF revealed there were no tricks she'd missed, just a cache that doesn't like her. If one more person says it opens easily.....

Found it, on the last day of September, 2020.
Parked on the carpark across the road, and walked to GZ.
Cache has been found easily. Now, how to open it.
I came prepared. I got the tool, and hopefully it's the right tool.
Great, that's the correct tool. I opened the gate for the treasure.
Discovered some TBs. Took nothing. Left nothing. Signed the log book, and shut the door of the treasure.
Very impressive. Next time, I'll bring J there, for her to try.
Thank you for the cache, roymerc (with Brad&Janet).
One favourite point from us.

Who wakes up at 4.30am to attend an event at North Adelaide[?]SurprisedTwistedRazz OK, the alarm woke me[|)][xx(][|)] but it sure took me a while to make up my mind to goWink
Finally got out of the house and arrived at the event at 5.35amSurprisedWink
Had breakfast[^] and then Rex and I went caching as I needed a puzzle cache todaySmile
Took Rex to a new dog park where he had a blast with a few other dogsBig GrinCool[^]
Back home for a nap[|)] before picking up chrispy89Big Grin and taking him to a caching event tea at West Lakes for Heath's (Gayspie's) birthdayCool
Then we visited a former roymerc cacheSmile, grabbed a TB for some southern girls[^] and made it home at a reasonable hour tooSurprised[^]Wink as chrispy has an eye operation tomorrow[^]

2 Coolevents attended, 1 SadDNF and 2 Smilecaches found[^]

My last find for the night and it was a great chance to do this cache at 9pm[^] as we scored a park right at the entranceCool and walked in with the TOTT in hand[^]
I allowed chrispy89 to do the honours[^] as he doesn't often get to cacheSad
The guard looked at us and I waved at himSmile
A few minutes later, he was out with us asking 'is that thing still there[?], how long will this go on[?], what is it called[?]'
We answered his questions[^] and apparently he is off home to look up geocaching for when he goes on holidays soon!Cool[^]

After having my last meal at the earlier event locus Rex and myself headed towards the city to chase a tab, when this cache was a sudden detour. Having the required tott in the glove box we made for the quick entry to retrieve the log book. Security came to have a look and remember the name of our game since he is about to embark of a around the state work tour. Have heard about these roymerc caches before and it’s great that I have finally been able to find one.
Fp point left since no TBs were swapped.
And best of all it has the best number on it.

This came onto our radar almost immediately after publication and it wasn't hard to guess how to approach the cache - unfortunately, we lacked the necessary TOTT at the time so we put it on the back burner for a while. We came to the area recently to grab a few other caches and inspected the hide then, but still with no TOTT in our bag, we only wondered what the hide might look on the inside Smile Until today. A brilliant cache, even has a lucky number. The only downside was I got ripped off purchasing my TOTT. Cost me $7, ripped off, ripped off. I needed petrol on the way and purchased my 9V at the servo, so don't buy one there. Very cheeky placement as well. Well done roymerc (with Brad&Janet). FPA

Today I needed a puzzle cache for my calendar so added this one to the list again. Armed with brand new TOTT fresh out of the packet, 3rd attempt was the charm, just shows that it’s not just having the right TOTT but a fully charged one!
Very clever cache.
Left a TB here and waved to the security lady.

Hinges and mechanism checked today. All good Smile

It always helps to read the description of the cache before leaving home Smile, but sometimes sleep becomes more important [|)].
Well, we never underestimate the value of security Big GrinCool[^].

Thanks for another one Brad&Janet.

Swapped TB. The right hinge pin needs resetting and tightening. Sorry I don’t have an Allen key with me to tighten it up.

Another great fun cache from B&G. Thankyou for the cache roymerc (with Brad&Janet) found 17 July 2020 15:09

We came prepared with the appropriate TOTT.
A quick find for us today. TFTC

Saw this was trackableless, transferred two picked up yesterday in Nuriootpa

09-Jul-20
After two failures we went to check on this one. It opened first time. Might need a TOTT with more juice? Try a gentle push when using the TOTT?

Looks more like a failure to read the Hint....

Returned today with a new TOTT still couldn’t access. Hmm will watch and return. TFTH

Sadly neither of the 9V TOTT in the battery box from our kitchen functioned at GZ. Both now disposed of and a new one to be bought.
Security guard on duty came out and asked me what the name of the game was perhaps he had been perplexed by the witches recent visit.
Hopefully won’t be too long before a return visit happens.
TFTH!
