Logs
Out with Rebel Acts and Omegaman1971 today clearing some more of the board, our destination was the Northern suburbs of Vic where i grew up ..it was a bit of a shock to the system especially when we stopped for lunch...our idea of a bakery didn't appear to exist ...we targeted a mixed bag of caches that the 3 of us had not yet found including this one.
Out and about with My two caching friends Omegaman1971 and Tiz13 on another Map clearing adventure, today was the Northern Suburbs, I have to say that Fawkner was an eye opener and a shock. This is one of the caches found today. Thanks nirgalagrin for the cache.
Omegaman1971Support Your Local VillainLive - Laugh - LurkFirst To Find: 206Sidetracked Cache Finds: 141Out with the gang, putting some smiles across the map and aiming for my 15,000th find today!Kicked off early to beat the heat. Thanks for the cache!
Needing a cache for the day I headed for this one via a slight detour on the commute home. I have found a few with this camo style so was reasonable quick find.
Thanks for this one! The log might need to be replaced - its getting pretty full!
Spring Victorian Incursion 2024.Day Six: Merri-bek (which ProjectGC is still calling Moreland at this point).Weather: the wind was back briefly, but generally a great day.The geocaching.com trails map indicated to me that you couldnt cross the tracks here -I was on the west side by now. How we you most certainly can, in fact I saw one guy on an e-scooter successfull cross the tracks after the bells started ringing and the gates had closed. I get the impression that this community garden isnt quite as quite as magnificent as it once was. There is a tell tale sign for this type of hide, and its evident here. Thanks for this hide Cliff5009 and nirgalagrin.
On a cold wet and miserable morning Sims_family and Dromaniax headed up the Highway with a list of caches on our hit list to work on some LGA based challenge caches. With all our targets being in the Melbourne Suburbs we decided to take the Domaniax Geomobile instead of the Ginja Ninja of the Geo Vehicle of the Sims_family as the 4x4 wouldn't be needed.Even though we were in drizzling rain and some cold biting wind it didn't dampen our spirits as we work our names into the log books. Our caching day was coming to an end with time running out but there was time enough for a small detour to gab this last cache. Thank you nirgalagrin for keeping this one going
We were chatting with Sims_family and discussing our progress on several challenge caches and how we would best approach them by working together to qualify for as many as possible as soon as possible. With this in mind and having a few weeks off work, we worked out a list of caches to cover as many Metro LGAs as possible over the next few weeks. After dropping Mrs Dormaniax off at the ferry in Portarlington, it was straight to Casa Sims, where we picked up Mr Sims_family and went off to find some caches. The day started quite drizzly and we became a bit damp when finding our first half dozen or so caches. All caches we found were in great condition unless otherwise noted.Thank you nirgalgrin for this Traditional cache.
Suscoe was enjoying a day out in this area.It was pleasant caching weather, a little warmer than expected for this time of year.We had a great time visiting caches in this area.We even met another cacher as we wandered the trails. Thanks to nirgalagrin for this hide. All quiet here today, no trains rumbling by either.
22:22Checked after a couple of DNFs, and despite logs to the contrary, still in place... in fact, thanks to recent, er, trimming of the greenery, hidden in plain sight.Ah well, another photo added to my collection.
Feel more exposed to Muggles than past trips out this way, has a tree been removed. Tftc
Found it today after a helpful tip from a guy walking past. Sunday the 12 of April 2024
A need for a walk plus school holidays saw me travel up and over to Hadfield, near part of the Merri Creek. Normally traffic is utterly atrocious and whilst it wasn't as good as Easter proper I managed to make it up here in 50 minutes. I consider that a win when travelling the south-north, north-south corridor. Once I had picked up nirgalagrin (who was happy to accompany me on the walk) we agreed the best place to begin was the cache at Merlynston station. My logs will include this standard blurb and then a comment or two about each cache separated from this blurb by a dividing line. Many thanks to the COs for placing these; a series of caches always makes for a more entertaining walk.---After parking up, we walked over to this cache. I immediately searched what all cachers would search and like everyone else recognised the error of my ways shortly thereafter. Amusing for the cache custodian, worth a smile from me in retrospect.
Found with micaparamedic after the nearby CITO. Thanks nirgalagrin, great cache construction. A favourite from me.
On secondment to Melbourne, Australia, combined with short holidays here and there. From day 49/74, I was accompanied by my dear son, geocacher Ruupertti, who travelled from Finland to visit me in Australia and to spend a holiday with me in New Zealand at the end of my secondment. Day 62/74, Saturday. Today was an awesome day with combination of many things. In the morning, we spent some time shopping at the Queen Victoria market. Then, we went again to Albert Park and spent most of the day there and enjoyed various races. In the evening, we still had time to visit the greyhound racing track (Meadows). Thanks for the cache and greetings from Vaasa, Finland! Logged with [GCDroid](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gcdroid).
Found after walking back and forth, thinking it had gone. Decided to give it another go before heading home. TFTC and TFTM nirgalagrin
Found it after looking on both the east + west side of the tracks (it's on the east side) but local council might want to trim the overhanging greenery for a slightly easier find TFTC
We came in from the western side and had to wait for a train to cross. Once there, I was fooled by the obvious spot for a second before I realised that there were two obvious spots and the cache was soon in hand. Thanks from D and HA B-A
Out on Australia day, caching between two events at either end of the day. Nice quick find here. Many thanks to Cliff5009 and nirgalagrin for the cache.
20:28Cache had been dislodged from its proper place, but still intact, so back where it should be.
A grand excuse for a walk... still in place, with another happy snap for the collection.Happy hunting!
Considering we were discussing this cache at the breakfast event hosted by the CO I just had to go and turn it into a smile on the map. Thank you nirgalagrin for maintaining Road closure for us to find today.

On a maintenance run to check a few of my hides and get a bit of exercise...
All good... and another photo to add to the collection.

Took me a while. Popped open every pipe I could find with a lid but eventually got it

Three DNFs, so I took a mosey down to check it out...
Yep. Still there.
Note to future seekers: the one you see may not be the only one.

Looks like the cache has gone missing....wasn't to be found where i would expect to find it
Cool hide, great modification. Funny the other middle one is a decoy and many obvious tries made to open lol
Had just about given up, thinking it had been muggled....... But there it is! No log, only a stamp, to I signed a scrap of an ATM receipt from my wallet and left that.
TFTC.

Sure was road closure for me. Had to be guided by the workers to get past where they parked safely. At least when I found the clever cache they had parked in a a better place.

With the rain increasing, this stop was like a road closure on our caching for the day. A very clever cache, earns a FP today.
Thanks to nirgalagrin for adopting and maintaining this cache.

Husband and were lucky to work extremely close to this one today, so strolled over during our lunch break to make the quick find. TFTC!
Highly unlikely that this one will ever go missing.
Nicely constructed and concealed. Thanks for the cache Cliff5009 and nirgalagrin

Dam I was looking at the wrong spot the went to the next one and found the cache
Thought we’d found the right place for a missing cache but hunting some more revealed it
Well we made that harder than we needed to...! Good hide! This cache was a good excuse for us to extend our bike ride
Quick find in this cul-du-sac. Out on a wet Easter Monday and nearby trying to solve The Onion. Thank goodness we found this one! TFTC
Left the gf to get the groceries at Aldi and poppwd down for this pleasant cache. Had to wait out a few muggles on bikes but had no trouble with this cache. Only one or two false starts trackingit down, but I'll admit I checked the hint before really needing to. tftc!!
Thought it had been muggled but I looked behind the ______ and there it was.
Got disappointed at first, as I got to the wrong ‘hint’. Then found another ‘hint’, and there the cache was.
Just got a job around the area an I have time to kill thought I’d come have a look
Lovely little garden lots of people on bikes very healthy area
