I am archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in a prior reviewer note.

Had a look around ths obvious place where the hint indicated with no luck

Found the clue and some small rocks but no cache

Couple days camping at Lake Middleton with family friends....the place is packed! Pitched tent, caught up with everyone..then went for a wander around the lake. Busy as but managed a sneaky find and sign. No grebes on the lake due to the shear number of people! But did spot them in a quiet corner near an outlet of lake Ohau.....Too cool for school. Thanks.

Found it with the hint. Coords were about 40 ft off. With Cupcake28. TFTC!

Quick find.

A few days off in Twizel for a sore foot put me off the caching trail for a while, but it was nice to pull into camp and grab this before setting up tent. No grebes today as holidaymakers were making too much noise. TFTC

After we chose our spot to camp for the night, we took the geomutts for a walk and grabbed this cache. Easy find. Gorgeous area.

1562. 2:34 pm. Based on the description of the DOC camp we decided that we needed a short detour just to check it out. Friends of ours used to work in the area and spoke highly of the lake and campground stating that I would love it and be reminiscent of my childhood home. Found with eKitten, GRAkiWi, Li0npaw and Jenryellea. TFTC(and a local we have shortlisted to return to).

Today cycling the alps to ocean rail trail an awesome experience. With a few caches to provide the cherry on top. TFC

We were heading to Mt Cook for a wee break and of course were caching throughout the area.

We had an awesome time with some brilliant weather apart from only one day where it didn't play ball. Great to see so many awesome caches throughout the area.

I couldn't make any sense of the hint until quite close to GZ when I spotted the obvious. The fire a year or two has certainly taken out some of the big trees that were by the entrance to the camp. Blackberry at GZ has been killed but the thorns remain. Thanks for placing the cache.

I think I may have seen a grebe. I definitely saw a cache and signed its log- since all the greenery has died off over the winter it is quite easy to spot at the moment. Thanks for placing this- I needed this one for a challenge, so was very happy to find it.

Staying in Twizle for a few days & decided to spend the day at lake Ohau, albeit cold & overcast. An easy find & a joy to see some Grebe in the lake. TFTC

Easy find on the drive back after a ride from Omarama to Ohau lodge. 3 hours including caching time.

We were biking from the Quailburn woolshed to the Ohau weir, with the trip made even more interesting by seeing the effects of the Ohau fire. The village turnoff was staffed by people with clipboards keeping tourists out! A stop in the shade of the unburnt pines here the have a drink and admire the lake. Doesn't seem long since we found the last one here. Nice clue - Mr D spotted what it meant!

A rather lovely day, on the way back from an afternoon on the snow. Coordinates were well out, but the clue helped once I read it. Cache was also very obvious from a long way away. Not sure how long it will last like that. TFTC.

Great find

Saw some fine weather for Twizel for this week and managed to find accommodation for the time we wanted. Having e-biked to Lake Ohau lodge and back, it was time for a walk, and what better way to walk than grabbing a cache or two on the way.

As part of my job I have to inspect roads as I travel around, Decided this week to target the Ahueiri area.
I did a bit of plotting at the weekend and spotted a newish hide on Lake Ohau Rd so this of course would be my fist road on Monday.
I was surprised. With how busy the road is, everyone except me would be heading to the ski field I suppose.
I couldn't have asked for a better day, the small lake was calm enough to reflect the bear by Mountains and their snow Whilst it has been raining and the ground was wet the rain had stopped and it was quite pleasant out

The day got better the further I got from the coast, in fact by the time I had got within walking distance the sun was trying very hard.
I was surprised how busy the road was today but as they went past I presume they were going to the ski field.
The ground was wet but the lake was so calm you could see the reflection of the surrounding mountains and the snow on them, the added bonus was the bare logbook!
I would rather be brought to places like this than a ski field!
Well deserving of a favourite, it is a glorious area.
