Found with richlink as part of our Annual Caravan Geocaching Trip. It's a sunny but cold morning, but today is the day we make our assault on The Spring Gully Conservation Park. We enjoyed our hike, picking up some great caches along the way. Thanks to TheKellyGang for some excellent hides and others who have placed caches along these trails.

a fun day of caching in the Clare region with Countrylad, total of 22 smilies for the day for me.Title: The Kellygang Conundrum in Spring GullyIn the heart of Spring Gully, where whispers of history intertwine with the rustling leaves of eucalyptus trees, a tale of mystery awaited the intrepid geocachers, Countrylad and Chrispy. They stood at the edge of the bushland, their GPS devices humming with anticipation, ready to embark on their next adventure.Legend had it that the notorious Kellygang, led by the infamous Ned Kelly himself, had once roamed these very woods, leaving behind a trail of secrets and hidden treasures. With excitement coursing through their veins, Countrylad and Chrispy set out to uncover the truth behind the Kellygang mystery.Their journey took them deep into the heart of the forest, where ancient trees loomed overhead, casting eerie shadows on the forest floor. Following the clues left by previous explorers, they navigated through dense undergrowth and over babbling brooks, their senses keenly attuned to any sign of the elusive geocache. As they ventured further into the wilderness, the air grew thick with anticipation. Suddenly, Chrispy stumbled upon a weathered sign half-buried in the underbrush. It bore a cryptic message: "Beneath the gum tree's shade, the Kellygang's secret is laid."Eyes alight with excitement, Countrylad and Chrispy scanned the area, searching for the designated gum tree. After what felt like hours of meticulous searching, they finally spotted ita majestic gum tree with gnarled roots twisting into the earth below. With hearts pounding, they approached the tree and began to dig beneath its roots. And there, nestled among the tangled foliage, they unearthed a weathered metal box adorned with the insignia of the Kellygang.Eagerly, they pried open the lid, revealing a trove of treasures withinancient coins, weathered trinkets, and a faded map bearing the mark of Ned Kelly himself. But the greatest treasure of all was the sense of camaraderie and adventure they shared in that moment, as they stood on the threshold of history in the heart of Spring Gully. With their spirits soaring, Countrylad and Chrispy carefully documented their find, leaving behind a token of their own for future adventurers to discover. As they made their way back through the forest, the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden glow upon the landscape.Though the mystery of the Kellygang may forever remain shrouded in the mists of time, the memories of their epic geocaching adventure would linger on in the hearts of Countrylad and Chrispy, forever united by their shared love of exploration and discovery.Come visit SA's longest running annual event -GCAK1D5- keep the weekend free - 7th - 10th June 2024 Can't wait!!2433

Travelling Australia in our caravan since February 2014.With magnificent weather forecast we were up early this morning for a 5+ km hike in the Spring Gully National Park. We were hoping to beat the heat AND the flies. great walk, really enjoyed the wildflowers, and only a few flies!Mrs Felix had a rest at her computer after lunch, whilst Mr Felix tackled some newer caches by bike on the riesling trail which we first tackled back in 2014. Once together again, we headed off in the geocruiser to tackle a few more caches to get away from the constant construction noise in the caravan park. SurprisedTFTC hoppin kellygang

For such a freezing cold day I had only recently removed my jumper. I was still hot after slugging it around a hill but I was already wishing I hadn’t. It only took 15 minutes but the chattering teeth told me to put the jumper back on.

The worst part was the beanie hair. I had taken off the beanie, but we all know that never ends well. I just knew the paparazzi were hiding behind a tree on this hill ready to catch me at my worst.

In case they were, I put the jumper and beanie back on. I tried my best to lift up the cache to show Mrs Woodyrothwell but it had become nicely part of the furniture and I probably would have thrown my back out. tftc

I headed up to Clare today with Team Waldron and FeatherWaite to go for a walk and do the caches in the Spring Gully Conservation Park.

After the weather we’ve been having, we jagged a great day for it - cool but fine - perfect weather for walking around the park.

The cache was found without any difficultly and was in good order.

Thanks ClareValleyCaching for the puzzle and the cache.

Found with e.gregory1 and Team Waldron on a trip up to Clare with the main aim of hiking around Spring Gully Conservation Park. With an early start we had plenty of time to pick up a variety of Multicaches, Puzzle caches, Traditionals and a Virtual cache as well as attending the CITO in Clare before heading for home. Thanks for the cache hoppin kellygang!

Out for the day with Featherwaite and E.Gregory1. A walk in this park was the objective of our day.

We found the terrain to be a little easier than we expected. We managed to clear the park which made us very happy.

A nicely sized container.

Zig-Zagging my way from Henley Beach to Clare for the much anticipated 20th anniversary of the June Long Weekend Event, this was my seventeenth and last stop before arriving in Clare.

Initially I was planning on doing the full circuit walk around the park but rain was still falling and light fading so I opted for an 'in and out' approach, still a solid 5km though.
The cache itself cannot be missed; that is one giant ammo container!

Podium finish for gridge and freddo. Nice stroll.

The cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.

I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count.

This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and a Samsung S8. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs...

Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke für den Cache. Gracias por el caché. Bedankt voor de cache. Kiitos kätköstä. Zikomo posungira. Terima kasih untuk cache. Hvala cache. Köszönöm a cache. Nga mihi mo te keteroki. Dankie vir die kas.

You know they took Ned Kelly
And they hung him in the Melbourne gaol
He fought so very bravely
Dressed in iron mail
And no man single-handed
Can hope to break the bars
It's a thousand like Ned Kelly
Who'll hoist the flag of stars

Poor Ned, you're better off dead
At least you'll get some peace of mind
You're out on the track
They're right on your back
Boy, they're 'gonna hang you high

{FTF} First to capture Ned at high noon!

An early morning awakening, and quick collaboration with my troopers Sebastbat and Jack , had us hunting this outlaw in Kelly territory.

Kangaroos watched on as we tracked him to his well armoured hideout. Ain't no eclipsing this fella. He's the real fair dinkum Aussie deal. Well travelled too, and he's been hiding out for a while it seems.

A good size cache in a great location deserves a fav, as does a convoluted puzzle that's still solvable by an elderly cat and his maths wizard son.

Keep on caching our regions Smile
Safely of course.
