Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA on a SA caching foray. Staying in Millicent for a few days to grab some finds placed for the ill fated Mega because of Covid. Very cold day but at least its not raining. Thanks for the hide. LNCU
Travelling with richlink on our Annual Caravan Geocaching road trip, using geocaching as our guide. We are staying at Millicent for the week, finding some of the caches we should have found if we had been able to attend the 2020 Mega. Thanks for the cache. LNCU.
23/03/2024 12:54:00 PMI headed over to SA to try clear a few unfounds around Tant and Millicent, a nice easy find. Thanks for the hunt Find recorded using GCDroid and logged using GSAK
Day 9 of our loop through Vic and SA then home.
Today fitzy_1965 and I again joined albida, Sol de lune & smittengranny. We signed as MAFSS to save room. Some of us may have rebelled and signed FAMSS instead.
Our aim was to finish the GV2020 series and to do the Crayfish series with anything we could find in between. We also did the SFE challenge series for good measure.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

30,878. Found with minniek, albida33, Sol de lune, smittengranny (signing either as FAMSS or MAFSS to save room and just for fun). After the hordes around Rutherglen it was good to drop down to a group of 5.
Rutherglen Mega and South Australia Trip Day 9. Today was another great day for our little group - the last day the 5 of us will cache together for a while - caching around the Millicent region. We finished up the GV2020 series, then knocked off the Crayfish and Challenges, along with many higher D/T and other caches along the way. Awesome. Quick find once at GZ. Signed, replaced, then we headed to the next one on the list.
Thanks scramping !!

After the Rutherglen mega, fitzy_1965, albida33, minniek, Smittengranny and myself headed to the Mount Gambier / Millicent region to tackle some of the caches from the Millicent mega that we couldn't get to.
Now onto day 2 of our run around the area and we started the day where we left off last night. After that it was the SFE series and then a few random caches on the way back into town. Those we found were found without issue.
Many thanks for the cache...it was good to hear the Millicent mega went well, but even better that we have finally made it across to find those caches.....as well as a few others

So the 5 interstate amigos hit the trails again today. First up, we finished the GV2020 series then the Crayfish and finally the SFE trail. It was a very rewarding day with lots of success but at times we had to replace the cache which was missing. At other times though we found two caches where a throw down had been placed as previous cachers couldn't find the original.
As if all these weren't enough we managed to hunt out and find a few traditionals followed by a couple of the UNAL caches, some of which were real challenges. Then it was minniek's turn to retrieve this one.
All logs were signed MAFSS ,or FAMSS, for minniek, Albida33, Fitzy_1965, Sol de Lune and Smittengranny. Thanks to all the cachers who have been/ are involved in the placement and maintenance of these caches.

GT37 and I love the places caching takes us. Places like this that we would have never seen had it not been for the placing of this cache. Thanks for bringing us here.

A somewhat foggy start to our final day based in Millicent, with our caching buddies, Suscoe. As the fog cleared and the sun actually became warm, we had a fun day finding a variety of caches, trads, multis and pre solved puzzles.
A very popular cache - the log was full, we were able to replace.
**FEEDBACK TO CO:** Full log replaced.
Thanks scramping for placing caches in interesting locations.

This was the Suscoes final full day of caching in Millicent and in the surrounding areas for this trip.
We were with our good friends Phetlern again and we had another terrific day out finding a range of caches in all sorts of locations.
It was a foggy start to the day but it lightened as the day progressed and ended up a quite pleasant Winter's day with sunshine and no wind.
Thanks to scramping for this hide.
Great to come out here, so green and pretty.

Found with a team consisting of BecknMonts, McLookers, Maccamob, Rabbitto, and Muzza. The day turned out to be better than expected and the caching was good too. Many thanks to the CO's for the placements.
Over in SA again with a cut down group of geocaches compared to last time. We felt it was time this group of Victorians found some Millicent caches, as we were banned from the mega! We are signing the logs as Vic1. Thanks for the sometimes challenging caches scramping!
We found this cache today on our Millicent Meander - Day 1 in company of Maccamob, BecknMonts, McLookers, Alansee, and Muzza. A few on the western environs of Millicent. Thanks from D & HA B-A
Found by Mary and David, in company with McLookers, beckNmonts, Alansee, muzza, and Rabbitto (signing as VIC1), at at 08:58. This trip was planned to tackle the many caches around Millicent as we'd been locked down last year and unable to attend GV2020. Our thanks to scramping.
In the Millicent area for a few days, we are signing the logs as Vic1. Very cool piece of history. Thanks for placing the cache scramping.

Log was signed with two more names and we were one the move again. Thank you to scramping for putting this cache into play.
Found this cache along with goingplaces2 at a quieter time. Log was signed and replaced. TFTC.

We remember the first of this style of container when we were first caching. We were working in Darwin for eight weeks and on our days off we would head out and cache. Boy we were going around in circles. SL TFTC
This weekend, jesswrigley and I headed to the limestone coast / south-east for some sightseeing, mountain biking, and sinkhole diving. On Friday night, we stayed at Robe, seeing the famous obelisk the following morning. We then drove through Little Dip Conservation Park to Beachport, then Rendelsham, Hatherleigh, and staying in Millicent. On Sunday, we checked out Tantanoola and the Tantanoola Caves, mountain biked through Mount Gambier Forest and Browns Lake area, and finally on Monday, we dived Kilsby Sinkhole before driving back Telford Scrub Conservation Reserve and Penola. A great long weekend of sunny weather.
Today, jesswrigley and I started the day with a Millicent breakfast, and from there, we headed through Tantanoola, followed by a visit to Tantanoola Caves, which was a fantastic experience. We then unloaded the mountain bikes for a ride through Mount Gambier Forest completing the Honan Mint Trail. Our final stop of the day was Mount Gambier's caldera / Valley Lake area, mountain biking some of the trails there.
We tried to look around for the remains of the explosives bunker, but alas, just nice green rolling hills around here today. The cache was a quick find, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Cute container too! Thanks scramping for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

Down in Millicent for the "Used 2B a Geoventure" celebration weekend.
Highlight of course was the mini mega gathering hosted by the longest serving mega committee (thanks for all your hard work guys and gals)
( Hopefully we'll be back for the big one when it's able to go ahead )
Teamed up with Sebastbat, and JEM.
Quite dark by now but we kept on going, just one, or twenty... more!
Hard to see, but a quick cache find. Love an ammo can - fav for not being a mint tin
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache on this corner of our caching map scramping

Stay safe out there, caches and their hidey holes can be dirty!
wash your hands, wipe down your cache gear,
sanitise, exercise, even wear a mask if hayfever season gets to you and
cache the countryside safely distanced at least a roo or an adult brown snake's length apart ! ! !
Have fun ! ! !

The great Southeast Saunter with Anymules down to the Millicent area to find caches associated with the postponed GV2020 mega. But with leave organized and accommodation booked the caching trip was not postponed! [^]
Day 3: Today we set off to get out names in all the SFE challenges (qualified or not) and then head to Carpenter Rocks. From there it was up through the Canunda National Park again to finish caches in the southern section. This coincided nicely with finishing near the night cache just after sunset.
Can still see the Powder magazine on the hill and quickly found the rather smallish power magazine at GZ.
***Thanks scramping for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***
Logs prepared and published through GSAK.

found with mogni leaving Mount Gambier and on the way back to Adelaide. Today's aim was to get the night cache ( in daylight if possible ( and it was ) ), as many of the higher terrain caches around Millicent plus any higher D caches if we had the time, a few more off highway stray caches and any we just happened to pass.
A weekend in Mount Gambier with sir_spectre and catching up with family and friends. We had three days and we managed to make a big dent in the many, many caches around Millicent.
Thanks to scramping from mogni

Wow we didnt know this was down here, great piece of local history.
Gosh we dont know anyone who uses powder these days, oh wait there are the mums who use baby powder on the babies. What a great view from the road also, it looks lovely with the sheep grazing and a gentle slope across where the powder magazine shelter is.
Bit of a leap but we do like the music of Powderfinger ......
Powderfinger were an Australian rock band formed in Brisbane in 1989. From 1992 until their break-up in 2010 the line-up consisted of vocalist Bernard Fanning, guitarists Darren Middleton and Ian Haug, bass guitarist John Collins and drummer Jon Coghill.
There ya go, a bit of music history.
Thanks scrampiung, nice cache, found, struggled to open, finally signed and replaced safe and sound as found. TNLN
