WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 147 - Toowoomba to Logan via Ipswich. My day started with a late checkout, so I could do a few hours caching around Toowoomba before getting on the road. The drive down the range was fun, there are some people who seem to think faster is better. I had a short fuel and lunch break in Ipswich before doing the final part of the drive to th van park in Logan. The traffic as I come east has been a bit of a rude shock, I will have to acclimatise to busy again. After setting up and a bit of a break I decided I could do a County that needed visiting, so I headed further south to the Scenic Rim LGA for a few caches over a 3 hour drive. I caved in and bought dinner on the way home. I did my days logging in the evening and had quite a late night for me. Th GCLogan events start tomorrow.I was happy this was not a tool cache, but with GZ halfway between two trees, I had lots of places to check before finally locating this small cache in a big bushy tree. Thanks for the cache doscrapbooking49165.4 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & Space Shuttle Gold A#178**Albida**
Parked in the street and headed over to GZ where the cache was soon spotted. As other have said the log need replacing but I was able to sign it and replaced as found. Thanks doscrapbooking for the cache.
Determined to have Toowoomba covered in smileys before moving back to Far North Queensland next week, I was on a mission this weekend! No taking off or landing aircraft whilst I searched for this cache today! Quick find here, as I'm standing nearby signing the log, a flash of red at my feet catches my eye... An AusPost pen! Gee, I wonder how this got here? SL, TFTC
Found it! Paper looks to be damaged and was falling apart, so logging it here instead
Found after a nice little sit down with the big rocks. Log is pretty torn up after water damage but still signed and replaced. TFTC
Day 122 of our greynomad trip up north from Vic which started in June, and day 121 of a streak. With QOGM done and dusted for it's final year we are heading the caravan towards home, well sort off. Goal is to tick off LGA's, and having claimed the closest to Toowoomba yesterday, we are taking it easy around town. They must have been doing there daily check on the chopper nearby. We waited thinking it was going to take off, but it just motored down.TFTC TB's visited
TFTC JENPETEH, The H,s , South Africans living in Tassie GeoCaching our way around Australia and loving it
When I usually see a shiny thing in the bush I think I am hallucinating, but when Geocaching... It means a new smiley on the map! Pretty easy, all in good condition, looks like a new log is installed (only 5 people signed).

Up in Toowoomba doing tool shopping with the old fart. He was nice enough to take me to the cache
This extended/long weekend across Anzac Day, it was an outback adventure to Charleville and Carnarvon Gorge. Departing Thursday afternoon, I stopped in Roma before continuing west through Mitchell and Morven and completing various puzzles and power trails. I then caught up with a small group to hike Carnarvon Gorge on Sunday and Monday, and then after having a final night in Roma, returned on Monday.
Today, it was time to head home from my weekend away from Roma to home. It was an opportunity to find a few remaining geocaches along the highway, and after visiting a few Chinchilla geocaches including the memorable cactoblastis monument [Mr Cole Snr, The Shanti & Prickly Pear](https://coord.info/GC8EW84), I opted to detour through Cecil Plains after going through Dalby, and then returned east via Toowoomba. Who would have thought that regular geocache stopping would add so much time to the normal 5.5 hr drive? With deteriorating weather in the late afternoon, it was time to then make the beeline home whilst getting a sneaky rain car wash along the way.
A short stop and I had hoped it would be a speedy find. Alas, perhaps like others, I was looking in the wrong tree initially until checking down at my GPS and seeing I had a short distance away from GZ. Once I arrived at the "real" GZ, the cache was a reasonably quick find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Note that the geocache was about 1.5 m up, rather than a generic head height as per the hint. Thanks doscrapbooking for the cache placement, and Brother Colin for its ongoing maintenance.

We were heading back through Toowoomba after spending some time on the Star Ship Enterprise and this one was nice and close to our route so we couldn’t resist stoping for ‘just one more’ (even though this was actually our third ‘one more’) We initially searched the wrong tree before realising we weren’t quite at GZ. Once we had congregated around the correct tree, the cache was soon spotted. Thanks doscrapbooking
Up in Toowoomba with DisSister and Skydragon for a weekend of caching and events. Today’s focus was on the Hellhole track and then a scattering of the Star Ship Enterprise. This was one we found on our way home, and after checking the wrong tree initially, which had quite a neat feature in it, we headed over to the correct tree. With three sets of eyes, it wasn’t too long before Dragonsky spotted it, a bit lower than I’d been looking. TFTC, doscrapbooking. =^.^=
Arrived at the GZ just as a helicopter was taking off, was great to see & then found cache, signed & now onto the next one.

Day 1 of my outback travels and the start of my Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster trip for 2022. While I had a few hours to kill and wait around before I had to pick up Triple Turmoil, I headed off to Mt. Peel and around Toowoomba for some easy cache pick ups and a few DNF’s I had previously. It was nice to be out and caching around this town again. The plan was to leave this afternoon and drive a little further, to stay at Miles for the night for readiness for a bigger day tomorrow. This was all in readiness for our continuation from last year’s event and a very successful team collaboration with Willis007 and Jacs Team.
So I started with a couple of easy caches in town and then went for a walk around Mt. Peel (grabbed the new challenge cache, a trad and the whereigo). I then headed into town to spend some time looking for a Library cache that was the bugbear of my last trip, (got it this time). I then continued for a few more great caches around town. Thank you for the caches and the entertainment around here, sorry for the generic log but I got around 30 caches here. I signed the logs on all and replaced all caches as found, thank you.

First time around this part of TBar and it’s great to be able to log a few caches here.
Walked straight up to this one and lay my hand straight in it.
Signed and off to the next
Cheers

Out picking up some caches this morning and this one was close by. It is in a very random spot- not sure why you would come here...... And then we found out..... just as we were walking back to the car, the Life Flight rescue helicopter started up and we watched as they lifted off. As my daughter waved, the crew waved back through their windows, much to all our delight. We waved and watched as it headed out west.
So, this one gets a favourite from us- we would never have seen that if we weren't here caching- an unforgettable experience!!
We also hope that the person they were sent to rescue receives the care they need to get back to good health. This service really is an amazing and essential gift to all Australians, no matter where we live but especially those who live in smaller towns.
Thanks for placing a cache here!

Staying in Toowoomba for a few days. A lovely winter day so we headed out to find some caches of course. No real surprise but lots of traipsing up and down hills through long grass, quite exhausting for these grey nomads.

Round and round the rugged tree roamed the ragged geocacher. The cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.
I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count.

TFTC! Being short, I know I always need to look up. Tag I you for placing this one here. I watched a Careflight helicopter take off, while at GZ too. Don’t often get to see this type of thing bear a cache.
The kids had fun finding this one took them a little bit and they also left some fun at a lower point
Thankfully everyone was working in their workshops and that helped make for an easy find and sign. Thanks.
TFTC smile 9384 out and about with miss millie geo dog and a great trip we are having great cache

On our wayback home from Cunnamulla after overnighting in Dalby. After finding a few caches on Oakey, we came to this part of Toowoomba to collect a few before time ran out to get back home safely.
Enjoyed the parks!

After 10 years on the road, finally decided to settle and put some roots down. Warwick is our chosen town.
Today, we had to take our caravan into Toowoomba for some pre-sale repairs (diesel heater needed attention, and who would live in Warwick with out a diesel heater) so while the van was at the work shop, we cached around town.
Nice one, easy find, thanks doscrapbooking (maintained by Brother Colin)
Found with bennyboppers and mnance101 today. Did a loop around before spotting it. Tftc

Found, hidden in plain sight. Clever spot that I imagine sees very little foot traffic.
Looking for the garden centre and noticed this cache along the way stopped in and did a quick grab
I found your cache with my Dad, Oddiewan and most of the time, Semik. I am way behind on logging so learned how to use templates so I can catch up. Sorry this is not a detailed log, but I will do better with my logging now that I have the ability to log caches on a mobile phone. Thanks for the cache doscrapbooking
Caching with my main squeeze, Oddiewan , BitternA4, and our new little geopup. A really neat spot caching has brought us to. We were driving through Toowoomba on our way home from the Gem/Coal fields and stopped in to grab a cache and some fuel. It was difficult to convince me this was a real bird and not the cache (see photo). It bloody well is a real bird because it blinked its eyes and turned its head to our inquisition. BitternA4 finally spotted the cache rendering the bird safe from further scrutiny. Bizarre that it would not be moved.
Thanks for the fun, doscrapbooking

Even using the hint I still went around GZ three or four times before I spotted the cache, a friendly Pidgeon was nesting in the tree but wasn't worried about my presence,
